Yes. Beware of change addresses in your BTC wallet AND in your byteball wallet. See the rules and check if you are ready at

*Why I Stopped Using Cryptox.pl and You Should Too*

1. It's unreliable. Their website, bitcoin wallet, and Byteball wallet are all flaky.

I needed to sell some bytes for bitcoin one day and my deposit never showed up the entire day. So, essentially my coins were lost when I needed them the most. Of course the price also went down during that time, screwing me more. I contacted @grzem and he was just a total jerk, acting like what happened didn't matter, "and just wait longer" he said.

2. They're greedy. Less than .01 BTC (~$20) is considered dust and will be taken from you if it happens to hit your Cryptox account.

Bitcoin fees are getting crazy and everyone knows it (almost $2 now). So, I was using my Cryptox BTC address as the payout address from the Byteball chatbot exchange. So, when I sold bytes, the BTC would be sent directly to my Cryptox account, and I could buy more bytes. But on the chatbot, you don't control how much someone buys from your order, so small BTC transactions come out occasionally.

This morning I received some hostile emails from Cryptox staff, prolly grzem himself.

I asked for a URL link to their Terms of Service because I could not find it. They sent me a 1 word reply, "Information." Basically, their crappy site doesn't even have URL's so he cannot link me to one. Now I see that if you click Information in the sidebar (never even looked here because I was only interested in Byteball) and then Fees, then look at the chart Other Fees you will finally see something about BTC Deposit Minimum Transfer Amount .01.

Wait, what? Why would this be under Fees???

3. Now there are better, more trustworthy exchanges to trade bytes.

I'm going to switch to Bittrex and Cryptopia.

4. Did I mention Cryptox staff are jerks?

Ain't nobody got time for that.

My experience with cryptox was much better so far.
More than once, I helped them troubleshoot glitches in the wallet - not their fault.  Overall, their performance looks quite good for a combination of new coin and new exchange.  And I'm most grateful to cryptox for being first to believe and list us almost immediately after the launch.

I have to second Tony here; cryptox has worked excellent for me everytime I've used the site.
It has sort of a unique design but once you get used to it it's great; I love for example how you add an address for each coin and just select it to do a transfer. No need to double check the address every time. Many little things like that, also I actually really enjoy the sounds when your order has gone through or deposit has been confirmed. I can have another window open and just wait for the sound to check what has happened. Very user friendly.  Smiley

Actually it's 5 million bucks. Well deserved indeed for a free new coin instead of a hyped ICO. I hope the success will continue after the airdrop.

Tony: is there any plan to gradually reduce the airdrop in the last months? Just like the next airdrop will be bigger to reward Byteball-holders more, will there be a slow reduction at the end? Or will it stop hard after the last big airdrop?

Blackbytes remain a big mystery though. I can't even send them to someone, as far as I know it can only work after "pairing" wallets, but it's unclear to me how that would work. I do know it requires bytes to pay for the fee, kinda like tokens on Waves.
Can we do a demonstration here in the thread? Say I want to send someone 10000 blackbytes, how would I do that?

Blackbytes is the name of one, the first, defined private asset in Byteball.
I read it's possible to create your own assets (no idea how that works). It's the first time I read blackbytes being "the first", in other words is it possible to create one like it? Like Loycebytes?

Oh, so the 1% is not being distributed in stages then, right?  Anyway, something tells me we'll be talking about a much higher figure soon!   Wink

Technically Tony owns the keys of genesis address so he still owns all the remaining bytes to be distributed.
He already moved his 1% to a specific address that you can see on 4th position of richest list: https://byteball.fr/Top100ByteballRichest.php

Sure you can create your Loycebytes, this is the way to do it programmatically: https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Issuing-assets-on-Byteball
As I read on Slack, there is a guy who set up a website to allow anybody to create easily an asset. So you will have soon a more convenient way to create it.

It's a pity that translations in other languages are languishing. For a wider diffusion of the coin all available information should exist in many languages - this is a critical point, since after all the world is full of people who either know only basic English or they know no English at all.
Waiting for volunteers willing to translate makes little sense - and then you would probably miss the GOOD TRANSLATORS, who wouldn't work for free.
So I hope good bounties be set ASAP for translations and - why not - other activity of promotion, viral videos etc.
This way, also people who don't own stacks of BTCs, but they really like the project and are willing to help, could benefit from the distribution.
If this happens, I'd book all translations in Italian.

tony & guys, you should start advertising ByteBall as anonymous messenger with built-in crypto. It will have more potential for adoption right now. After that will come adoption for crypto on already established user base.
For that plan, support for profile data and search must be added. In-chat image support will be good to. With prices for storage of 0.5$ usd for 1MB on chain you can ever store photos in-place. (My company have 100kb-photos in Outlook)
Maybe we should start side chain with time-limited storage like in file sharing services with prices in bytes per month for data storage like in Sia-coin. Or publish that data on DHT P2P system (with constant republishing for refresh (like in Kademlia), say 1 week persistence — after that data and user will be considered "offline" and be unavailable until user go back online and republish).
Or just built in support for Sia with built-in exchange like for GBYTE-BTC.

I suggest built in searchable profile storage on chain and image support on side-chain or Sia.

Also look for blockchains for content publishing — have it on ByteBall will be good too. Maybe we should start developing desktop-size client for this.

In short, for beginning:
1. Add Kademlia support (google for "The Kademlia DHT in Javascript for Node.js")
2. Add user profile support, store it on Kad DHT, use built-in Kademlia search ability. Use wallet id to distinguish duplicates, part of wallet id can be communicated on side channel.
User profile at this stage can be non-anonymous. Maybe who seek anonymity should just activate Tor or I2P.

Then extend:
3. Consider some persistent distributed storage system for content (like photos) storage, like Sia. Use separate asset. Maybe issue it with proof-of-storage algorithm.
4. Add exchange bot for buying storage on (3).

Open questions:

Maybe hubs or witnesses can store profile data and we can skip DHT at beginning?

Some contact data can be used to automatically discover friends, like hash user phone with full name and publish wallet id, if friend have that data in contact list then it can discover friend's wallet id automatically.

the dumping will happen after the next distribution probably. that seems to be how it works so far, but maybe one day it'll stop. i'm impressed by the rise all the same.

Compile windows client, and got this error:

C:\Byteball\byteball>grunt inno64
Running "innosetup_compiler:win64" (innosetup_compiler) task
Error in C:\Byteball\byteball\webkitbuilds\setup-win64.iss: The system cannot find the path specified.
Compile aborted.

It's difficult to troubleshoot without seeing your system.  There are several file paths mentioned in this file:
OutputDir=../../byteballbuilds
..\..\byteballbuilds\{#MyAppPackageName}\win64
../public/img/icons/icon-white-outline.ico
Make sure they all exist.

Also see this during the compilation:

node-pre-gyp ERR! Tried to download(404): https://node-iltorb.s3.amazonaws.com/iltorb/v1.3.1/node-v47-win32-x64.tar.gz
node-pre-gyp ERR! Pre-built binaries not found for iltorb@1.3.1 and node@5.12.0 (node-v47 ABI) (falling back to source compile with node-gyp)

Not an issue.
