I decided to take a look through the first 5 pages in general, and see just how many threads I would move there, and it's only 5-6, and a couple of those I'm kind of iffy about. So perhaps a premature idea, currently probably not worth it.

Slightly longer answer: It does the same thing as when you throw away a hundred dollar bill. You lose money, and everyone else's money gains a little value.
Hardly, when money is created out of thin air every time a bank makes a loan. I was questioning the example. The post was relevant but it's not up to my discretion, is it? No it's not relevant. The thread was about what happens to lost bitcoins and the ramifications regarding the economy, and you nitpicking at some little example in order to turn the thread into an unrelated politics/economics discussion is typical atlas, and coincidentally enough, exactly what you he was banned for previously (initially). Theymos, some forums have a thread where it is posted who got banned, when and for what reason. Maybe you could do the same?
At the very least, it would be nice if the mods were made aware of who was banned. For those who don't know, right now the mods only know when someone was banned because of a request from another mod. We have no idea what theymos does on his own. That would be nice. Could cut down on the trolling/oft/whatever once people see that hey, x did get banned for it.

You would ban any user just because someone gives you 10 bucks? Good to know you have a price, and you're cheap.
I'll give you ten bucks in bitcoin to ban Atlas' #22 right now. Then he can see how effective his revolutionary new moderation plan is. Seriously though, this is what would end up happening. Anybody who stands out (in a good or bad way) would get banned eventually, and it would have be a really good forum to get people to pay even more to come back. Then you are losing all the ideas and discussion that person brings just because some jackass who skipped taco bell for a couple days banned him. It may be effective in getting rid of a few people you don't like for whatever reason, but would it be worth losing all the others that would get banned by other random people who don't like them?

You would ban any user just because someone gives you 10 bucks? Good to know you have a price, and you're cheap. Great. Lets turn this place into a giant echo chamber filled with people fellating each other over fear of getting banned. That's where good ideas are born...in giant circle jerks like SA. Right?
Aww....see I prob would have just been bought a ban for being a smartass...so yeah, id vote no...if this were an actual thing
An armed society is a polite society. Hm, I guess it would be a good idea to let people ban the user(s) that banned them. I don't know how you are going to get any type of community going with everyone getting banned the second they piss someone off.

I'm still waiting for all this shit to *blow up* not literally figuratively so many sketchy shit going on ...this person not involved this person is involved its like wtf! lol people erasing things , disappearing without notifying interested parties ... I have to admit I enjoy watching this! *scratches head* Nothing really happened. Exact same thing I was thinking, that was a weird post. Matthew went on vacation and some guy had a link in his sig. Going from there to "everything blowing up" is a bit of a stretch.

do you guys know if its immediate or automatic, or do mods actually need to sift through some log file? that would suck, lol.
It's automatic, 5 posts here, and 4 hours lurking (you can read any forum for this part).

I wouldn't mind a price drop for a time as long as the difficulty went with it. Hopefully this will discourage enough miners so that the supply will go down and stabilize the price. The difficulty is so high that it is barely profitable for a small miner like me. I keep going because it is profitable though. This is my input with my limited but not ignorant knowledge of economics and bitcoin.
Difficulty will adjust so there is always (roughly) the same amount of coins coming in, only change in that is the planned reward changes.

Smart, send a legal complaint to the cops against a fairly well respected business, then brag about it, on a libertarian forum that patronizes said business. You didn't stop at any point along this line and think it might be a bad idea? If you're gonna talk trash/spread fud about others businesses publicly, you should be prepared to expect the same. Oh look, it started already. Good luck with that.

Now that's a good idea. The various meetup threads could go there too.

Not short, but I did sell @ a little above 5. Rebought at 4.40, sold again at 4.70. I had bids at 3.50, but put them even lower, I'm out for now.
Hopefully the long term trends hold and it doesn't quite reach 2.50. Then all this repeats all over again. Nobody said this shit was gonna be easy.

To add another free usenet indexer for those that were asking, nzb.su It's very similar to nzbs.org except they are actually taking new users.

If that's all they got, I'm good.

Sorry you can't go. I forbid it.

Didn't you just come back like a month ago?

I have a power line tester if it shows no power than what could possibly go wrong
Famous last words. Please be careful and treat every wire as if it's live, no matter what testers tell you.

Until it bounces big time above $5 you can't tell if that was bottom or not. My call is: not yet, we yet have to see $4.0.
We will do that by the end of the day. Which one?

I had my bids at 4.40-4.50 to catch spikes overnight. So looks like I'm back in, I wouldn't buy (much)now if it weren't for that though. I expect it will rally back to 5 soon, and we'll see where it goes from there.
