SgtSpike has fallen to selling his units. What a travesty!

I will give you 5 btc.

Wow, this thread has really taken off since BFL started shipping on April 1st...

*tumbleweed*

*crickets*
They actually didn't start shipping on April 1st, all the did then was release a youtube video of someone testing the ASIC board. They started shipping weeks after that,  but it seems to have stopped.

The big question is WHY did it stop?

I have been waiting for them to reach 400s unit a day (or at least 100) so I can go buy their products via a third party. I won't send em' any cash till they start fulfilling orders.
3083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 10 chips avalon module board fired up, help! <3 picture uploaded> on: May 07, 2013, 03:38:03 AM
I suppose that you could fix this by yourself, it is very easy to get such components at electronic shops. Or you sell the chips and make BTC right away Grin
He ought to sell it to a developer. I am sure they would love to take an early look at one of the modules to get a headstart on the open equipment version.

P.S. Whatever you do, don't sell it to anyone at BFL. They will reverse engineer the Advanced ASIC technology from the Chinese people.  Cheesy Wink

We can pool some money together and send it to BKKCoins... he is the one on the cutting edge of an open source Avalon DIY PCB... can we make an offer?
Damn, the Avalon components are worth something even when they break down. Might as well be solid gold.
3084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Wafer Broke? on: May 07, 2013, 02:55:45 AM
As always you are a moron with entitlement issues.

Mirror, mirror...

Typical problem with most Americans who are not shit-poor... Those that ARE shit-poor... well, they seem to have entitlement issues as well, but at least they're (generally) too stupid to know how to navigate and utilize the Interwebs properly  Cheesy Wink
Uh I wouldn't touch that subject in front of Kano. He is on some form of assistance. (As are apparently 47% of Americans)

I am definitely not one of them.

Sure you got your free device...have you thanked all the preorder customers that been subsidized so that you could get it before most everyone else?  Roll Eyes
Well the software driver I wrote is the fastest and best software for mining on the device ... that everyone can have for free Smiley

Yeah we can both word it however we like.

I thank you very much for the software, but it doesn't do any of us any good without anything to run it on.
Correct.
However, it also doesn't do any good releasing hardware that doesn't have software to run on it.
The rather obvious reason why developers got Jalapenos first.
Though I don't know what playing chess has to do with bitcoin mining, maybe someone else couldn't work out which forum they were on.
To those with a sense of the situation, it means that you should not gloat that you got free hardware. Nor defend a company (so readily) when their very customers have been largely disenfranchised for a lengthy period of time.

For example, try keeping it "low key".
As usual PL you are a moron.

I am not gloating that I got free hardware. I got hardware that I had to spend a lot of time and effort on to write the software for it (over the last 5 months) that I am giving away for free to everyone else ... and as they get their devices, which is already happening, though not many yet, that software is ready.

It is high key!
I've spent a lot of effort on software for a device I've (not received for free) that everyone can have the best mining software for it for free as soon as they get their devices.

OK I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say something ...
Do you live in some 3rd world communist country where people get paid nothing for their efforts and thus you consider spending time and effort on something as shit and worth nothing thus the way you bandy about that word 'free' over and over again?
Yes, it is called America.

Don't bother answering, coz you have already answered the second half of it and I don't really care where you live.
Consider that you keep defending the lateness of customers packages. Sorry, but you need to cut that shit out....

You are in a privileged position (and don't even have the heart of even a true GNU coder) so don't bemoan that you give away for free. As always you are a moron with entitlement issues.
3087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Downgraded my shipping?! on: May 07, 2013, 01:37:58 AM
Cashflow problems = ponzi

They are struggling to get new suckers to pay off the original suckers. Simple scam setup.

Not rocket science despite all of the Josh's statements claiming "MAKING ASIX IS HARD".
If they have the same problem as ADL, then the truth will be revealed on May 10th 2013....
3088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who all has received Jalapenos? on: May 06, 2013, 09:00:10 PM
I plan to order a couple of Bitforce 5 units. In the home page it says 2 months to receive them. Is this for real?

DO
NOT
ORDER
FROM
THEM

More lambs for the slaughter?

Another week gone by...BFL still has not delivered to their customers.

LOL

I'm curious if they wont deliver to their first customers for ASICs by the 1 year mark in June.
You keep jinx'ing them!

You keep saying "I hope" they will deliver by "xxxxx" thereby making the jinx take effect.

Next thing you know, they will finally pack the delivery truck on May 29th and the wheels will fall off as it starts to take off.

You need to stop the jinx....hyjinx.
3091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who all has received Jalapenos? on: May 06, 2013, 07:31:54 AM
Wasn't there some post at the start of April that said BFL would be ramping up to ship 400 units per day?

Yes, that's what Josh said. But Josh has said a lot of things that turned out to be overoptimistic, misjudgements because of his ignorance, or blatant lies.

I found this interesting...

If you look carefully, they even squint the same way....creepy coincidence?
3092  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 10 avalon chip module board fired up, Ngzhang HELP!!!!!! on: May 06, 2013, 07:22:36 AM

3093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon Technical Support Thread on: May 06, 2013, 05:13:18 AM
My Avalon Enermax PSUs are dying one after another. 3 PSUs dead in 3 days, and I can't pinpoint the reason.

Any ideas why it may happen? Is it a common for Enermax PSU to die like this? None of the Corsair PSUs died at the same time.

Anyone had their Avalon PSU dead and was able to identify the reason?

If Enermax is indeed problematic, what is the recommended replacement?

I appreciate any help or advice you may have regarding this...

Do you have a USV connected to the PSUs? This may be the reason!!!!

Most USV have simulated sinus waves and PSUs with active PFC dont like those sinus waves. !!!!
I think you meant Sine waves.

And uh, your regular electricity uses Sine Waves.

------------------------------

Sinus waves was made funnier by the fact you have an Avatar of a Medical Doctor.
3094  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Wafer Broke? on: May 06, 2013, 05:10:02 AM

But keep on keeping on Kano. The more diverting you are in your responses the more I tend to believe that you are indeed a paid BFL shill. Whether it is true or not does not matter, you operate as if you are one.

At least puerto was somewhat funny lol. You are just plain lame.

Good luck backing BFL because when they implode you will get a ton of flack for supporting them.

 Grin Grin Grin

I could be funnier, but I am worried of being charged with humorcide.

*Drops mic*
*Throws hands in the air*
*Walks off stage*

Unless someone has proof on an invoice or in writing somewhere that they were supposed to get Express shipping and it is not being honored...then I will have to say Inaba has the clear "Win".

Hes right when he says they don't have to offer any Express Shipping. *Priority* is not *Express*. Never has been, never will be.

What if they have a screenshot that says 'express shipping'?
If it was paid, then yes, that would qualify. You'd have a legitimate claim.

LOL but the glaring fact is that Priority is not Standard either.

Thats true, but if you have ever shipped with USPS, the only way they can send a multi-pound order is with Priority mail.

First class would be impossible. Book rate would get the devices confiscated (but would be supremely cheap...mail fraud).

Parcel Post is the same price as Priority. Sooo....that pretty much only leaves priority shipping as a method of sending.

=================

Now if josh were a genius, which is debatable, were to make custom boxes that fit into a flat rate Express package, that would be a solution. Though I doubt those Flat Rate boxes are all that big.

https://store.usps.com/store/browse/uspsProductDetailMultiSkuDropDown.jsp?categoryNavIds=catGetMailingShippingSupplies%3asubcatMSS_ExpressMail&categoryNav=false&navAction=push&navCount=0&productId=P_EMFRB1&categoryId=subcatMSS_ExpressMail

These are the only two boxes that I would see maybe fitting the size and shape.

Express international (flat rate) is sometimes approximately the same cost as international priority. (Depends on Size)
3097  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL power consumption / Charity Donation on: May 05, 2013, 11:48:19 PM
they'll probably ship to 90% of the orders before they come out with rev. 5 of the chip in which 1w/gh is met and they try to slip out of the bet on a technicality.

Wink I saw it that way as well

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192340.msg2028637#msg2028637
Does this mean that the 1000 BTC bet is the main (or only) motivation for a lower power mining device?

If that is what the original order says, then why do you believe you should get Express shipping?
3100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Downgraded my shipping?! on: May 05, 2013, 09:11:07 PM
Don't ask for a refund.

Contact Paypal:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-phone
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-general

Tell them you have paid for express shipping, the company refuses to honor it's invoice/statement. Then tell them this is being forced on all customers abroad with this company. Paypal will grab it's nutcracker and get this straightened out. They will likely tell BFL to honor their agreement as per their invoices.

If you are talking about being bent over, make sure someone else gets bent over instead, on legitimate grounds.

Paypal has a list of what "Express" means. BFL is unlikely to get away with "redefining what Express means" by itself. If it were "Expedited" then BFL would have a leg to stand on. But since they didn't use that word, they are hung by the balls for the bad wording in their invoice.

Go around the Rep. When people did it, things got moving. So simply do it again until you get justice. The power to do something is in you guys (the customers). You guys/gals simply choose to never exercise it.
Sadly this is probobly going to turn into a definition war, My invoice says Priority Shipping, Ordered in October 2012
The newly generated one or the old one from the old system?
