This topic has been discussed extensively on the forum and the admins have taken no action, so it's safe to say, it is not being considered;
Like button idea ?

I keep looking for the 'Like' button

• You do not have to engage a post to show appreciation, you could simply read through and pick the important information,

Why would you send such a large amount to a betting platform all at once and did you verify the website when creating an account?
I looked through the address and the holder appears to be moving the amount across several addresses, not sure if this is common practice for betting platforms.

3103  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Passive Income - My Experience on: June 01, 2021, 08:24:51 PM
I am getting passive income from some farming and staking at Pancakeswap and Bakeryswap and most recently Mocktailswap whose daily APR is quite large, around 600% to 700%.
A daily APR or DPR of 600% is quite high and somewhat unrealistic for a project, it would most likely lead to supply shocks and crash the value of any currency, if it were true, then it raises lots of red flags about the longevity of the project.

@OP, besides the risk of losses, be aware of protecting your private information. Some users do not bother to verify a website before submitting information to it, and the more platforms you register on the more the risk of personality theft.
3104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: June 01, 2021, 06:32:39 PM
That's why a coach doesn't always have to depend on players. This is a problem that must be resolved by a coach, but many coach feel comfortable using the services of key players because it can improve their reputation as a coach in terms of achievement.
Coaches depend on good players. Football may be a team effort, but the better the players, the better the team, so the quality of the players matter a lot. Also in most top teams, they have a collection of good players and each one would be missed if they are absent. Liverpool for example missed Van Dijk for most of last season and it badly affected their performance, if Mo Salah was as absent, it would have equally affected their overall performance, same with other too clubs. The media may focus more on the contributions of attackers, but each quality player would be missed.
3105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 01, 2021, 06:26:00 PM
Ok, now it is official, Ancellotti back to Real.
Back at his old club, would be interesting to see if he can convince some of his former players like James to come with him as well or how influential he was in the decision of Alaba to join madrid.

Only Conte without a team now  Cheesy
Do not forget Joachim Low, I believe he is not yet in any agreement with a club or country, and would be interesting to see if he returns to club football after over 15 years away. As for Conte he won't be out of contract for too long, Inter are the losers in his departure, the owners are taking the foot off the gas financially and this could allow Juventus regain their position next year.
3106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A legend was once a newbie on: June 01, 2021, 03:31:25 PM
I wonder if other newbies would still dream of ranking up if there ain't bounty campaigns here. Roll Eyes
Only a handful would, and honestly, only a handful of already ranked up accounts would remain active should there be no incentive to post on the forum. This is a natural behavior, users here like Bitcoin and wish to discuss about it just as they would update their social media profiles, but the campaigns here brings a certain level of commitment to read and make useful posts, more than I see on some other discussion platforms with no avenue for earnings. This creates a sort of chicken and egg situation, as most bounties choose bitcointalk cause of the high traffic, largely generated by spam.

Assuming a newbie makes a good thread/topic/discussion but then s/he does not engage nor care about the replies of the people wanting to discuss with the thread and then just moves on to make another thread.
This does not encourage discussions but is the reality of the situation. Most of the members replying to the "discussions" also do not bother coming back to check on the thread but ony try to meet their weekly quota.
3107  Other / Meta / Re: Mod / Admin: (Please take action / ban). on: June 01, 2021, 02:21:34 PM
And something tells me that they are unlikely to be banned. The forum loves to ban all sorts of noobs and spammers, who, in truth, pose little to any threat. But really dangerous scammers are rarely banned.  Undecided
Scammers are actually never banned, cause scam is not moderated. If a scammer was banned, they probably broke some other rule of the forum which lead to it. Noobs are also not banned for being noobs except they broke some forum rule, although some may be unaware of the rules (reason why the newbie welcome message should already be ready).

Checking, verifying and judging scams is a task the admin does not want to take as it is difficult to ascertain and it gives a false feeling of protection which could make members let down their guard. Such as what someone would do on Twitter if they were communicating with a verified account, which could be hacked.
3108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Devalued coin scam attempt, newbies please be aware! on: June 01, 2021, 02:15:43 PM
With what I have noticed, I think scam is beyond greediness, most people that have no knowledge or experience
Sure, scam is beyond knowledge or experience and more education would help, but there are some easy to detect ones, where the scammers prey on the greed of people.
• If someone offered to buy something from you at a value far above what it is actually worth, rather than immediately celebrating, ask yourself why the person is willing to pay that amount,
• Also, if someone wants to sell you a service or good at a far lower price than it is worth, it should raise some red flags immediately. If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
3109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Devalued coin scam attempt, newbies please be aware! on: June 01, 2021, 11:01:42 AM
Why would anyone who got an unsolicited message from a stranger on the internet choose to trade with them on an escrow platform they are not familiar with (considering the point of an escrow service is trust)? The only reason I can think of is greed, as it offers an attempt to cash out on the shitcoins they hold in their wallet.

Just don't be greedy for your devalued coins and don't lose them. Who knows if your devalued token sometimes becomes valuable assets. It's crypto and we don't know what will happen near future.
The scam may not be about the coins, after user sends them, the scammers would promise an unreaslistic amount for them and then come up with a bogus reason to lock up the funds requesting xxx amount of Bitcoin or ETH to confirm the payment.
3110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This dip is PROOF that "I wish I would've bought Bitcoin at X price" is nonsense on: June 01, 2021, 09:03:04 AM
It's only nonsensical if it's not followed by the price they actually bought in at, such as 'I wish I would've bought Bitcoin at X price... But I instead got in at Y price'. A lot of people would rather regret not having bought before, without making any move to buy now (even through they can).
Bitcoin is still at the early phase, so if you cannot buy now and wait for 5+ years with all the evidence of growth, you most likely would not 10 years ago when Bitcoin had no history of growth.
3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Dystopian Future on: May 31, 2021, 12:30:10 PM
There is no need for them to directly ban Bitcoin, but they can ban it on centralized exchanges and with absence of cash it will be much harder for P2P trading to exist and everything will be tracked.
I do not think the presence of CBDCs would much affect P2P platforms. The objective of those platforms is to send fiat and digital assets around without the need of a trusted middle man;

• I initiate a trade to sell xxxBTC,
• A buyer accepts my terms and send xxx$ to me,
• My BTC is sent to the person.

In all these processes (which most times involve bank transfers) the purpose of the trade is not known. To the bank Mr Joe simply sent some bucks to Mr Jerry, and it can function the same way using CBDCs, the movement can be tracked, but the purpose of the transfer is not public, except more stringent regulations is effected.

Other group who love freedom more will live outside the system...
A privacy war is definitely likely as adoption for 'crypto' assets grow, further threatening the control of governments, and you're right that it's up to the Bitcoin community to decide if to shift more to centralization or not.
3112  Other / Meta / Re: How I increase my bitcointalk account member rank? on: May 31, 2021, 06:08:16 AM
Start by taking your focus off bounties, a glance at your post history shows almost all of your posts are bounty reports.
Rank is determined by merit and activities, you can rack up lots of the latter through such reports, but none of the former.

So that i can't participate in many bounties. Can you help me to give some advice to increase my bitcointalk account rank?
First advice would be to forget about the first sentence and focus on learning and exploring about Bitcoin. There are no shortcuts and bounties/signatures etc are secondary purposes of the forum, the primary one is Bitcoin discussions.
3113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cannot puchase Bitcoin. on: May 31, 2021, 04:23:44 AM
I'm trying to buy though Electrum, but so far, no responders. I set up my wallet using the default setup and have tried different servers but nothing yet. the idea is to eventually use a coldcard.
Electrum is a wallet just like coldcard, except it is a software wallet, they both store bitcoins. Also, it is sometimes adviced that you avoid coldcard and instead use Trezor or ledger to store your coins.

P.S; if you're trying to buy on electrum, you probably shouldn't be buying just yet. Before purchasing any asset, you should have done your research on it first, and understand how it works and how to safely hold it.
3114  Other / Meta / Re: A question about unsolicited PMs on: May 30, 2021, 04:11:06 PM
Yes, but the question is, what would have happened if I, someone else, 5, 10, or more people reported you for sending unsolicited PMs? Would you have received a temp ban or maybe a permanent one? Or would the admins not have looked at it that way at all or simply warned you to stop?
This is where discretion comes into play. The staffs would not simply react based off the number of reports and but consider the situation before deciding whether or not any punishment is necessary and what it would be.
AFAIK, the content of the message also matters, is it spammy or of no value? Does it advertise a website? etc.

That's what I thought. It comes down to whether or not it will get reported. The consequences will depend on the friendliness or assholeness of the PM receiver and the mod making the call.
As I said above, the consequences would also depend on the content of the message. I have sent unsolicited PMs asking a more experienced user for help on some issues and while it was unsolicited, it was not spammy or annoying. I would assume the mods would consider that if it dies get reported.
3115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore Police Say Crypto-Related Crimes Keep Rising across the Country on: May 30, 2021, 08:59:24 AM
Writing articles and including Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies is the way news outlets gets more traffic, governments also use it to spread further and strengthen their claims for more regulation, so we should not expect the crime theories to stop soon.
People lose money due to their carelessness and/or greed and not as a result of the currency being utilized. Fiat, cryptos, jewelleries and other valuable items can all facilitate scams, but only one of those would be deemed newsworthy.
3116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is here to stay, do not panic on: May 30, 2021, 04:39:19 AM
all those countries that put ban on crypto are the ones with people buying crypto the most, for example Nigeria and india
This goes to show you cannot really ban s decentralized network, the government can only exempt themselves from it. In Nigeria, it is perfectly legal to trade or hold Bitcoins, only that banks cannot get involved and oversea such exchange. This pushed more users to P2P networks, leading to the spike in activity. If majority of people considered their privacy and made that switch, governments would have no influence over cryptocurrencies.

china have banned crypto up to 5 times
BTC have died too many times before
Both statements are wrong. China has never banned bitcoin and bitcoin has never died. Millions of posts on the internet claiming otherwise doesn't make it right.
The op is probably referring to how many times before those FUDs have been spread and how Bitcoin is still here today, proving already that they are lies.
3117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media advice to newbies on: May 30, 2021, 04:32:37 AM
I still can't believe how many people still falls for it. Someone I know from Discord got scammed out of $500.
That sucks, and it's surprising that after so many years, people are still using social media the wrong way. If you're looking for opportunities to earn money, you should go to Fiverr, Upwork and the rest. The most popular bunch; Twitter, telegram, discord, YouTube etc are packed with scammers ready to capitalize on greed. If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.
3118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own." on: May 29, 2021, 10:28:03 PM
when the market is bearish and we buy at a price position that is not ideal, then we will experience a little loss.
You do not experience loss until you sell. When the market rebounds, a difference of a couple thousand dollars buy in price will not matter much.

However, if we know where to enter we will benefit from entering at the lowest price.
No one has a crystal ball with which to predict price actions, if not, we'll all buy at the bottom and sell at the top.
3119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect your valuable personal information by avoiding tempting offers! on: May 29, 2021, 09:44:57 PM
But the biggest concern here is the newbie, because whenever they get an offer, they believe it and follow the scammers' instructions.
I always say that newbies are not more susceptible to scams like these it's more of greed; they are basically easy to see through strategies which anyone who frequently used the internet should be able to discern. If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't true. An offer of rewards with no source is a huge red flag, more less when you need to offer something to get it.

Personal information could be used to send more personalized scam attempts, it can also be used to brute Force into an email address.
3120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is taking over (A graphical Illustration) on: May 29, 2021, 11:46:58 AM
The exact number of Bitcoin users around the globe is hard to calculate because many people keep their money in private wallets and do not reveal their identity. So yes, Bitcoin has been adopted worldwide already.
I beg to differ here, Bitcoin may already be known worldwide but it is yet to attain global adoption yet. If we are to consider the diffusion of innovation model, which is a theory about how new inventions are adopted by the society, and it has five distinct categories;
• Innovators
• Early adopters
• Early majority
• Late majority
• Laggards.

...At this point in time, we are probably at the early adopters and bit of the early majority stage. We still have lots of skeptics among the later majority and the laggards (which make up about 50% of the population) who are yet to be convinced or are still fighting it for their personal gain (governments).
There has been tremendous growth these past 12 or so years, but mainstream adoption is not yet upon us. On the flip side, this means there is lots of room for growth.
