In fact all my master nodes remained up and weren't effected by the ddos other then some extra cpu usage. Thanks to Splwak21 excellent hosting services. Yeah, my masternodes were not effected either. But then i also upgraded my specs for update v.0.12.1 I think if that DDoS attack was performed a few weeks earlier it would have knocked out more masternodes. Now most masternodes had already upgraded to more RAM and better CPU.

Three years in existence and there is still debate about the instamine .. (lots of hand waving....)
Does the market care ? No
Do customers care ? No
Are customers mislead about it somehow ? No
(more hand waving...)
Yes, as you've pointed out, your are marketing dash as "no premine, fairly distributed." Most rational people would view the result of a premine as the same as an instamineThere is a difference between a premine and an instamine and as long as that difference is either overlooked or incorrectly used those people will be behaving like noobs. noob : a person who is inexperienced in a particular sphere or activity, especially computing or the use of the Internet. Personally i dont have a problem with noobs, i just dont think very highly of them. And lets face it, there is little point discussing something with a noob unless you want to educate that noob. I dont have the time, energy or desire to do that.

Three years in existence and there is still debate about the instamine ..stuck in the past much guys ? Who cares these days that Bitcoin has over a million bitcoins in the hands of one person named Satoshi ? Who cares these days that there are coins like Monero that were cripplemined and come from a shady background ? Who cares these days that Dash was instamined during its first two days, survived it and moved on ? Does the market care ? No Do customers care ? No Are customers mislead about it somehow ? No The only ones who care about it are those people who benefit financially from it as they are staked in a competing cryptocurrency and have ran out of valid arguments against Dash. Which means they now have nothing left to use against Dash then its instamine history. Here is some official Dash clarification about the instamine that took place. Link : https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/official-dash-instamine-issue-clarification.7569/And yes, we are talking about instamine here, not premine. Anyone still using the term premine with Dash is a noob and does not know the difference between premine and fastmine/instamine. Apparantly we have a lot of noobs on this forum.

Anyone notice that livecoin.net is not trading Dash? I have 5 Dash on the exchange that I'm not about to withdraw. I'm having flash backa for cryptsy over here.
Better contact them directly and be carefull when cashing out, their Dash price ($42,67) is wayy lower then other exchanges ($70.82) Ask that exchange if they upgraded to Dash v.0.12.1 (with -reindex) and also ask why their price is so low.

To be honest i'm not really all that interested in knowing what Charlie Lee (the lead developer who abandoned his own cryptocurrency) thinks about Dash or says about Dash. OK, but are you interested in what Charlie Lee (the Director of Engineering at Coinbase) has to say on whether dash will be listed there? Not really, i'm from Europe so the chances are very slim that i will ever use Coinbase. I would be far more interested to hear if Kraken would accept Dash in the nearby future. So you're only interested in what effects you personally? Well, he was asking for my personal interest .. OK, but are you interested in.... Here is another personal opinion for free : within 2 years all major exchanges will have added Dash and those who also enabled InstantSend on their incoming and outgoing transactions will gain the edge.

It is so strange to see some of these trolls behave the way they do in here. Specially when they are posting it in the most viewed thread of all altcoins. It just totally ruin their account reputation on the Bitcointalk forum and they end up getting classified as either trolls (ranging from dumb to somewhat entertaining) or as really disturbed people that are clearly having hate-addiction problems. What fascinates me about addiction and obsessive behavior is that people would choose an altered state of consciousness that's toxic and ostensibly destroys most aspects of your normal life, because for a brief moment you feel okay. - Moby

meaning you have to place some level of trust in the people who run those services. Was bitcoin invented to increase the level of trust or decrease? So DASH is just another fiat , backed by a puny government? On the other hand those people are well known and respected community members.
On the other hand most of the appalling crimes in history were done by people that were well known and respected community members. If its not decentralized then its not crypto. You are on the wrong forum, sorry. Dash has both trustless solutions (no trust required) and trusted solutions (trust required) to offer .. please try to read more carefully next time. And yes, i'm pretty sure i'm in the right forum. Are you ?

Please do not quote or feed known trolls, its really the fastest way to get on someone's ignore list.

It seems too long to understand everything and there are some trolls just making my head spin which results me not understanding all the posts here Why is DASH kept moving up, the last time I saw it the price was just $49, whats going on here? Short answer: 60% of all DASH is stored in masternodes which generate an 8.5 DASH per month dividend for their owners. Most of these masternode owners are long-term holders who really enjoy getting paid a 9% annual ROI for doing nothing but running a node. More people want to buy DASH, but these masternode owners are not being enticed to sell their holdings, meaning you have more buyers competing for very few sellers. As the price rises, maybe owners of DASH will be enticed to sell their holdings. Considering that many of us think DASH is worth way more than $70 each, it could take awhile... We have: a) Instant transactions b) Privacy features c) Governance model d) Self-funding that allows us to spend (at present levels) several million dollars per year on our own development or on integration with other businesses, etc. Bitcoin has none of those things. How are we not a better Bitcoin? Network effect? Pfft. When we have a massive budget system and can fund integrations with existing Bitcoin partners, don't expect "network effect" to protect Bitcoin much longer. Thanks. Where to I store mine to also get about 8 Dash a monthly? I've just bought some DASH maybe I'd be able to also get money. I'm all in and that was all i have left in my bank account lol. Do i need to download the wallet and put it there to receive dividends? If you have obtained 1000 Dash i suggest you use this guide to setup a masternode : https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/taos-masternode-setup-guide-for-dummies-updated-for-12-1.2680/If you have less then 1000 Dash or if you do not want to setup and maintain a masternode yourself, there are also other options available : https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1867885Note : be informed that some of these hosting services are trusted services, meaning you have to place some level of trust in the people who run those services. On the other hand those people are well known and respected community members.

heh...kicking self I did not get into this early....alas...another boat missed..but I did manage to make a paper wallet and put a whole 0.10 dash inside to test Well you guys in it long term are likely smug ..good for you.... I have 100 btc clear (paid thru mining) just labor/time/hobby involved in that now So....got these titan's sitting about still kicking out LTC...figure maybe some of that should just get www.shapeshift.io to dash ..they have ROI'd lousy way to make a DASH miner..but hey the are all paid for (except elec per month) reminds me of 2013 when my knc 550 gh Jupiter BTC miner arrived oct 18th and btc was 1 BTC a day and 150 usd per BTC....2 days after thanksgiving BTC was 1k I think I roi'd the unit in 3 1/2 weeks at 7,131.80 lol I hope it works out the same way with the modest dash experiment I'm a doing too ..kinda pumping the same...a guy can hope also from my dash 'newbie' view so far....something SHOULD BREAK from the pack into 100 buck coin as an alt IF BTC is 1200 and perhaps 3k this year people like alternatives ...worked with me getting KNC Titan and mining LTC to BTC ..so MAYBE same logic applies..who knows oh well....like satoshi said about BTC applies to dash..it will either be worth a lot of $$$ or nothing at all at this point in time it seems to me off to play 'newbie' again in something and get on dash forums.....been a while...since I have tripped over 'newbieness' ..refreshing later edit: by the way is there a BIG MAIN DASH thread on bitcointalk...or is this thread pretty much it? IF there is such a more general bigger thread I can take my newbieness there. Good luck with your mining operations / conversion to Dash (Dash also has ASIC miners by the way, maybe something to work towards in the future ..). On the Bitcointalk forum Dash has the most viewed and discussed ANN thread here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.0(that thread does get frequently visited by trolls though as its not moderated .. FYI). For more serious discussions you can check our dash.org/forum Welcome to Dash

Bitcoin was a nice pioneer for crypto and a worthy betatester for Dash! I think we all should remember that and honor bitcoin for its great work in attracting people to the cryptosphere now as Dash is slowly taking over btc marketcap!
Oh man thats just cruel .. but very funny. Very funny indeed.
