WTF happened with Vesely? He destroyed Ćilić yesterday which can happen but then he destroyed Bautista Agut today and that is very big surprise for me. Bautista is the guy in form at the moment. If Vesely can repeat this performance he can even take out Djoković tomorrow. My bet will go on some handicap, should be nice ones like +6.5. @buwaytress this the one for you to play Vesely 2:0 against Djoko

Vesely? ranked 123, Beats Cilic in 2 sets and Bautista Agut in 2 also, thats Tennis and
what makes it so interesting and sometimes frustrating to bet on. Well done to him
anyway but he has a serious match tomorrow, it will be a massive upset if he beats Djokovic.

He has a +5.5 handicap on sportsbet.
Money, money, money... Vesely costed me the ticket yesterday against Agut but he gave back more 20x today so I will forgive him. Hope at least some of you followed my tip on handicap, that was free money and I managed to take 6.5 handi @1.6 on local bookie. Sportsbet had good odds on Vesely to take at least a set and odds on 2:0 win were over 20 on most bookies.

This was perfect example of bookies going by ranking. I watched Vesely in first 2 matches and yes Djoko was a favorite but odds should have been something like 1.5-2.6 and not 1.05 on Djoko. Unfortunately the odds will drop now in all other matches but I will force him till the end of tournament.

Ostapenko is on fire as well....

Medvedev is first in the world from next week no matter what he does in Acapulco.

@Trofo you legend, what a call on Vesely's handicap....

unfortunately I could have pulled the trigger when I posted that he was +5.5 but didnt,
I then saw early in the first set that it had dropped to +3.5 and I thought ¡ah its not worth it now!

@teddybear look at Trofo's post above, Medvedev will go to #1.

What a match by Vesely I didnt watch it only a quick check in the first set
He has to be man of the tournament so far to knock out 3 big names and the
biggest of all today. He meets Shapovalov in the semi's now, you would have to
bet on him to win that if he can continue to do what he is doing

3102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Does Warren Buffet change his mind? on: February 24, 2022, 07:56:10 AM
Buffet was a very shrewd investor which many others followed his strategy as
pointed out by franky1 and mk4 and he hasnt changed that strategy. He is backing
a company who is involved with crypto he isnt buying Bitcoin or any other crypto
directly himself.

So no he doesnt change his mind he is very much doing just what he always did.

In a related thread from over a year ago, I created THIS with some of his
more famous attacks on Bitcoin.

Damn, just saw the video of Zverev going apeshit on the umpire. Don't recall recently seeing an umpire pissing his pants heh. So out goes the defending champ. Makes me wonder how bookies settle this type of thing, I haven't actually bet on tennis and got my pick thrown out of the tournament.

Winner of the day: Peter Gojowczyk, who gets a WO.

I just watched that on youtube, what is wring with him, he needs some anger management,
it was a doubles match and now as a defending champion he's out.
Really stupid reaction from Zverev. I can understand the need to went out the frustrations but it could have been done differently. He could have just broken his racket on turf after the match finished and then calmly said to the ref whatever je needed to say from the bench. Nothing would happen.

This was done to intimidate ref and now he is out and faces further consequences. There were also some allegations from his ex gf which now look much more likely, at least to me.

Thats exactly what my wife said regarding the claims from his ex GF back in 2021.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/oct/04/abuse-allegations-against-alexander-zverev-under-investigation-atp

TBH he hasnt done himself any favours on a number of levels

1. he is out of the tournament
2. he could be looking at a 6 month probation or ban, similar to what Kyrgios got in 2019.
3. this outbreak definitely puts a spotlight on the above allegations.

I think the bookies take a ban as a loss, ok in this case they lost anyway. I might be
mixing that up with a retirement tough ?

bookies handle this one as any other WO, probably, and it depend on each bookie, how they handle that, it could be a void, or it could be Peter to win, but mostly would just void this one, since it was not starter at all
I don't know any bookie that counts walkover without playing as regular bet. I know few that count it as regular play if one game or one set has been finished. All respectable bookies void all ML bets in any walkover situation. Most fair solution for all parties.

I didnt have any bets on today for Dubai but last night I was looking at backing

performing really well.

That is frustrating that the packages are delayed, I can relate to the current situation
because I have had a similar experience last year/this year. I bought a newspaper from
Spain but the package ended up in the wrong customs warehouse 6 months ago and
they couldnt sort it correctly and it has been sent back to the sender.

I can vouch for what Willi is saying, once the package leaves the senders country it is
up to the destination country to get it sorted and delivered.

Hopefully these get sorted without too much delay, I hope you all dont mind me sharing
that experience!

I want to confirm that I received my coin yesterday. Willi9974 sent me an
image of the coin before sending and can confirm same has been received.

  • As a new member, how long do I have to wait to gain the trust of the members of the forum ?

If you mean getting trust score under your username, there's no rank requirement for that. You just need to complete trades with trusted users and get positive feedback from them, which they aren't actually obligated to give even if the trade went silky smooth. Users could also give you positive feedback for other things, like being a helpful and useful forum member, exposing scams, etc.

Two things to note - do not under any circumstances try to buy trust score or try to make trades with the sole purpose of getting trust score. That's an immediate red flag of scamming behavior.

No I think he means "acceptance" or "confirmation" from the members that
he is doing things right and gets rewarded with merit by working hard.

as Lucius said Legendary rank is a mixture of activity being on the forum regularly and consistently
and merit the points system to reward good constructive posting

The best example is the member @Ratimov who has created incredible threads and
collected currently 6837 merit but is still on Hero membership because his activity
is only 997 since June 13th 2019.

Best of luck to the OP with his goal.
3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador positions itself as the first Bitcoin city at Expo2020 in Dubai on: February 22, 2022, 08:50:53 PM
On the Expo2020 in Dubai I was happy to visit El Salvador pavilions. Honestly speaking - I think that's the best in its category (among the small pavilions).

You will see a mix of audio-visual presentations, such as the one below, which has strong message of "Bitcoin city", then in other room you have another presentation which shows the city, nature and the life there. And then - in a cafe room you can taste local coffee. And finally, near the exit - you can see they have a radio room, and they are broadcasting there. So it looks like El Salvador used the most from the space it had. And now I hope to visit it and sharing with you this short video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLcchrbZtCs

Let's face it, the young President trying to make a name for himself has made the country a guinea pig and since he bought higher than current prices - has cost each citizen a fair chunk of money. Sure Bitcoin might go higher in future, but it is simply impractical as a day to day means to carry out transactions. The primary beneficial purpose is transferring money across borders without incurring large fees, which could have been regulated without creating another official currency. The average person will simply be unlikely to benefit from this beyond the bribe of free money that they got at the beginning. If they had pioneered something new, like their own stablecoin, that might have been worth it.

Whats the alternative though?
Stick with a massively inflated currency which isnt your own and you have no control
over anyway - nope

As mentioned in some earlier post the real fain for anybody in El Salvador currently
is the massively cheaper fees for transfer of funds and wealth where they previously
would use Western Union.

The plans for Bitcoin City are massive and adventurous, I think its just a matter of financing
it, everything else is possible.

I liked the video too, I like how the host was selling his country and Bitcoin is a part of it.
3112  Economy / Collectibles / [INFO] - Bitcoin Holographic Coin by Real Crypto on: February 22, 2022, 04:01:35 PM
Hi All,

I came across this site on some casual googling and thought I would share it here

https://www.stakebox.org/collections/real-crypto/products/bitcoin-holographic-coin

It looks like from the description that they are limited in supply, are affordable and
obviously have a hologram and are sold out.

Quote
Our coins are struck from brass rounds and are first plated in a layer of copper
then silver with the final plating done in either .999 pure silver or 24K gold.

Quote
The range of coins minted is between 100 and 1600 and varies for each coin.

They also have a Litecoin, Ethereum and two other coins I never heard of MonetaryUnit
and Ubiq, has anyone got any experience of this site and/or the coins?

They have a listing for an ULTIMATE COLLECTOR PACK

Except these users from my blacklist
Who, coincidentally, form the overwhelming majority of kind and smart people.

I actually searched to see if I was on that BLACKLIST, I would love to be included
with all those "trolls, scammers & trust abusers"

Its funny how OgNasty has merited that post obviously because he isnt on the
trolls, scammers & trust abusers Blacklist.

Super match today between Davidovich Fokina and Sinner!

Sinner lost the first set and was a number of match points down in a second set tie break
to win that set and absolutely blows Davidovich Fokina away in the 3 set to win.
Sinner didnt play well in the second set [I didnt see the first set] and Davidovich Fokina
was hitting some amazing winners.

I had Sinner to win but had a real cluster muster of a micro betting session on this match
to break even in the end almost

Sinner to win
@ 1.28 staked 0.01mBTC Then after realising he lost the first set I bet again on him
@ 2.50 staked 0.01mBTC Then thinking he was down an out in the second set I bet on
Davidovich Fokina to win
@ 1.52 staked 0.01mBTC and topped it up
@ 1.12 staked 0.02mBTC and topped it up again early in the tie break 5-2
@ 1.55 staked 0.01mBTC then after he lost that tie break and the set I went back to
Sinner to win
@ 1.35 staked 0.02mBTC then went all in with what was left in my pot
@ 1.01 staked 0.015mBTC

Absolutely crazy, I'm said it before I wouldnt do In-Play betting and thats it, not doing it again.

3115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto prices crash as threat of war looms on: February 22, 2022, 01:51:07 PM
Interesting debate, I would like to think along the same lines as @avikz but IMO
the current market movement downwards is as a result from growing
tensions between Ukraine and Russia

as per @tomahawk9 if the stock markets are reacting unfortunately Bitcoin markets
will follow. As peoples "investments" come under pressure they have to liquidate
assets and unfortunately this will in some cases not all affect Bitcoin.

OPI checked your prfile and yes you registered your account back in 2017
but there is minimal activity since then.

I see you offered that writing service on BCT butyou dont have any trust
record built up. Can you post some samples of your work here, you may be
able to get some new custom?

You are correct if anyone has a talent they can offer those talents and try
to get payment in Bitcoin, it makes total sense, its acvtually earning Bitcoin
without KYC or AML.
3118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Environmental Menace on: February 21, 2022, 04:05:35 PM
Ah here we go, another Copy/Paste post about the environment and Bitcoin.

Does the OP expect us all to switch our interest to Bitcoin SV?

I would love to know how the OP thinks about mining for Lithium to fuel new
electric vehicles, what about the energy used there? I'll bet the OP doesnt have
the motivation to search, copy and past all that data because it doesnt
attack Bitcoin mining.

Bitcoin's energy consumption has been debated to death here on BCT. I dont read
any of these threads anymore, there isnt an industry on Earth which doesnt have
a massive carbon footprint.

What is actually the reason that Nadal refers the tournament in Mexico over the one in Dubai?
~snip

it is probably sponsors
Nadal is playing in Mexico, since that is Spanish speaking country, and sponsors probably like it that way, while Djokovic is better suited on Middle East and Far East (he often have sponsors from Japan, Uniqlo for a long time)
nevertheless, Djokovic will vouch for Nadal, since Medvedev could be first if win in Acapulco Smiley, will be interesting to see his performance in Dubai after all the drama

~snip
I think the question is more why Djokovic is playing in Dubai? I guess he can't go to Mexico cause of covid pass.

Djokovic plays Dubai every season, probably sponsors as well

Yes, interesting to see Djokovic playing today against Musetti. Looking at the
schedule for Dubai it looks like some of the "Big Names" are there, Rublev,
Sinner, Shapovalov, Bautista Agut, Basilashvili and Murray.

The Top6 bar Djokovic are in Mexico so he has a good chance of
winning Dubai and the others in Mexico dont have to face him.

I have a good few micro bets on favourites for both tournaments, the usual
suspects to win.
