Okay I jumped in with 500 th.
my logic is we are at a cdf high winning number. I am a 20th guy so 500th will not bring my redline too high at all. If I win the block I will win a high cdf
and will be in the lead as high cdf.
So now is the time for all you 10-50th guys to drop a nice rental.

Forgive the wording, but how do you work out how many S7's you can plug into one socket?
If i get an electrician, would they be able to install more sockets?
I'm not sure how it work, i don't want to blow the electrics!
Thanks!
Are you in the USA with 120 volts and 15 or 20 amp sockets? or are you in a place like the U.K.with 230 volts.

I am a bit lost as to the why of this. but hear me out. you want solar >>> battery >> Regulator >> s-5 why not Solar >> battery >> invertor >> atx psu >> gpu rig mining eth coins yeah I know we are talking alt coins sin sin. but if you are going large scale right now at this moment the eth coin idea pulls 195 watts vs 590 watts easier to do . I suggest your first tests are with an eth coin rig like I just said. read my thread in alt coins on an eth rig https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1429151.0my idea has more conversion and loses in the conversion but is ⅓ the power draw and actually earns more then an s-5 does in a day. if you are going big scale the ability to do either or could help you earn profit over your startup cost . I'll certainly look into this. I wont rule anything out. The only downside to running an inverter is the efficiency loss. Same thing back into a psu. I could lose 5% stepping up to ac through the inverter, and another 5% to drop it back down to DC through the power supply. The charge controller itself is probably a good 10% alone. it adds up quick. Any regulators etc all seed power on a low scale. Running right out the gate with 12v of the panel, battery and a regulator, I'm looking at minimal loss through the regulator. Still probably a good 5%. I also need the 3x factor in terms of solar power. If I'm using a 500 watt draw 24/7 assuming I get full power 8 hours of the day I'm going to want a 1500 watt solar array minimum. This will not only power the miner during the day, but provide an additiona 1000watt charging capacity to recover the 16 hour draw. The best idea I have at this point is to use the power company as my battery. If I simply grid tie these units with an inverter and make up the power during the day, the solar should still run my meter backwards for what I consumed at night no? I wanted to stay off grid with my mining but perhaps the battery's just are not pheasible right now. I know my state put the kabosh on solar efforts. The power company basically said fuck off if you made your own power. Pretty shitty world we live in. That is sad. As solar works well with the gird tie in. NJ and MA are good but many states are bad.

well guys i am going to have to shut down my miners at this time ive been running my 4 s1's and 1 s2 here since about jan and been lovin it but with the PH/s at where it is now i cannot afford electric for them
so i tried adding rentals to it to help it but diddnt help
maybe if i can sell these units and get something better down the road ill be able to mine again
i loved kano's pool alot
learned alot while here ill be jumping on here once in a while but only other miner that i have thats energy effeciant is my 4 compac sticks will be 5 if i can get sidehack to fix it right now its only about 60-66GH/s so its concidered dust so im going to be running that somewhere else or maybe ill shut it down..
been alot of fun guys and good luck with more blocks

Can I blame a guy with 3 s-7's in the basement of a school in china for mining in china no I do not. The gear is not leaving China and if you are mining with physical gear in china it is best to mine on a Chinese pool with a Chinese server.

first I will ask mods to move to alt coins. next under clock usually is better then over clock with gpu's I ran a lot back in the day. and the efficiency of watts per gh (for BTC) was better with an underclock. I just setup my first rig for eth coins running a hd 7970 getting about 19-20mh and using about 182 - 189 watts. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1429151.0

but those numbers really say that it's most likely that either the GFW screwed us over or antpoo did.
I'm curious how the GFW would work in favor of antpoo, or by the same token, prevent our blocks from propagating faster (than antpoo's) across the network. Pardon my naivety on this. I would have expected their blocks to be relayed slower and thus lose the race. They confirmed their block. meaning they skipped GFW correct?

the bigger r-100 box at 100gh was a great piece of gear pretty quiet. the only bad thin was it got to market and was out of that hash power wise. it burned about 110 watts to do about 100gh.
If noise is your problem get one.

+3.6 = tomcat2
Newbie accounts are not allowed to make picks. Sadly people abuse it if allowed. So you will not be able to pick. Tomcat I require 30 posts and 2 months on the forum. so may 26th and 30 posts that have quality and I will let you play. We had a big rollover prize and 3 or 4 newbies joined and picked four numbers so I put in a time delay + post delay for new people.

You can always mine X11 with that Tahiti based GPU and get about 11MH/s with the optimized bin file.
For the last 48 hours I think you would of made a little more with X11 than ETH according to Nicehash.
Uses a little more power however.
Don't really care as I don't want to go down the rabbit hole and end up with 10 pc's running 30 to 40 gpus. I ordered an r7 370 from amazon a 4gb model should get 15-17mh but use under 140 watts. I dug up a platinum corsair and tweaked the hd7970 to get about 20mh at 185 watts. if I end up with 35-38mh at 325 watts I am fine with ethereum. I have a photo of a cleaned up setup. Sold 1x Avalon 6 unit tonight, so the free kit that philipma1957 was so kind to offer is taken. I have 3x Avalon 6 units left in New York that are still available.
Again, philipma1957, thank you very much! I did not know about his offer till I had the sale and seen the messages.
HolyScott is that offer still valid? PM sent.

Hashrate hit the new all time high. We're going to see at least 3% rise in Diff this period. Hopefully it was just due to variance, but more likely due to Bitmain producing and selling the crippled S7 with a single fan. Can I change my pick to +3.2?
no pick changes are allowed

Note I killed off 99% of this thread in April 2020. My wife and I both had covid. The was still suffering from the after effects of having the illness> I also had some permanent damage from covid ( I may do surgery in 2021). It is now December my wife after months of doctors and treatments is better and hopefully is going to be okay. I am less angry about covid and its effects on me and my wife. I wanted to offer an apology about deleting this thread (50 or more pages) I will look around and see if I can save some of it.
