Sorry, maybe im not explaining myself very well, english is not my mother language... So, there is one transaction, from Coinbase to Electrum Wallet, then it happened something, including my electrum wallet crash, while this transaction was being made. When i managed to open electrum again, my wallet was gone, so i recovered it with the 12 words phrase. At that moment it showed me another transaction, from my electrum wallet to an outer wallet... this is the hash if you want to have a look a23c5255ea0b2a92fcefacc552fd4e5f530710ac7cb54eb7a2391e4124e16a0e And this is my wallet with this two movements https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1LCtHWuQvRG7SFvxsXZ8aXhiLYSoQXXDBdAs i remember, while i was checking the transaction status i saw this other movement, but i thought it was part of the show... Seems like i've been pissed and Phished in this show. I think you have had your money stolen, and it sounds like you downloaded a malicious version of Electrum. Just now, Malwarebytes blocked an attemp to connect to exs.ignorelist.com by the electrum 3.3.8 installer, saying its an exploit.... think we got the problem, and someone stole my money...
Only download Electrum from here: https://electrum.org/#downloadAnd learn to verify the download, here's a tutorial: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/I don't know how secure your computer is, but there may be some other malware installed. I'm of the philosophy of better safe than sorry, so you may want to nuke your OS and reinstall it from scratch.

Is it possible that due a first failed attempt to verificate the transaction, a secondary transaction was made? That's not quite how bitcoin works. Each block that includes your transaction counts for one confirmation. I'm not exactly sure what you mean the first transaction failing. If your wallet software crashed, that has no affect on the blockchain transaction that you initiated with Coinbase. i see in my wallet now that i received the BTCs, but now its another order wich i didnt made, but this one in sending the money out... this looks bad isnt it? If you login to your Coinbase account, and click on the "portfolio" tab, on the right you'll find a column with your recent transactions. Click on the most recent one, then click on "view transaction. That will send you to a blockchain explorer. In your Electrum software, on the history tab, right click on the incoming transaction, and select view on blockchain explorer. The transaction IDs should be the same.

a bit of an asshole Just a bit? Anyway, fees are fairly low right now. Electrum's recommendation for a target of 25 blocks is 2.5 sats per (he'hem) vbyte (I'm looking at one of my bech32 wallets.) Funny how transactions are cheap when bitcoin price is rising, but not when it's falling.

Someone correct me if I am wrong?! You are not wrong. The image posted by the OP is does make it look like he was chatting with an impostor. A quick way for you to check if you spoke with the real admin is to find a post of him in that telegram group, click on his profile and click on 'SEND MESSAGE' like the picture below shows. Does it open an empty PM history or does it show the previous PMs you already exchanged? If it opens the existing PM history - the real admin of that channel is trying to scam you. If you open a blank PM history, they are two different users. Another way of verifying the user is by forwarding a message to @userinfobot. Pick any message sent to you by the user in question, right-click on the message, then click on "Forward Message." A pop-up window titled "Choose recipient" will be displayed, enter @userinfobot into the search field, select the bot, then click send. The userinfobot will return a message with the user's ID, which is unique and tied to the user's phone number that was used at registration. The only way an ID can be changed is by registering with a different phone number. Here's what I get for the admin of that channel: @rdymac Id: 10405624 First: Randy Last: Brito

I think that jerry0 in fact just thinking aloud, and I think the next week until the action runs, he won't actually make the order. If by any chance he does, and if he buys an X model, there is no need to doubt a whole new dimension of confusion that will overwhelm him. Personally in my almost 5 years on the forum, I did not see such a paranoid and confused person who shows up every couple of months with the same questions...
I wouldn't be so hard on the guy. He's obviously confused about some things, and asking questions is better than making assumptions. There's no such thing as a stupid question when one's wealth is at risk. I would rather see a dozen people asking "stupid" questions than one person making a mistake that costs him money.

it is a pretty basic "how does bitcoin work" question.
your wallet only needs to store your "keys" and nothing else. everything else is being stored publicly on the blockchain that is shared between peers on the bitcoin P2P network. in other words when someone sends you bitcoins, they aren't really sending "you" bitcoins. they are submitting the transaction to the public blockchain. and your "coins" (which are transaction outputs) are stored on that blockchain. to spend those coins you have to provide a digital signature with your keys locally and then publish that signature so that you can move those "coins" and update the public ledger aka blockchain.
It's amazing that so many people still think of currency as a physical item, and can't quite grasp the notion that it's merely a digital representation of wealth. This isn't limited to cryptocurrency. Even USD is mostly digital these days. Conservative estimates suggest that physical dollars are used for about 26% of all USD transactions. Other estimates suggest that only 8% of the worlds wealth exists as actual physical notes and coins. The rest exists only in digital form. @OP, think of it this way; your bitcoin isn't actually in your wallet. Regardless of what wallet software you use, the bitcoin is "stored" in the public blockchain. Your wallet contains private keys which act as "passwords" that allow you to move the bitcoin from one address to another. Once a transaction has been signed by a private key, the rest is handled by nodes and miners, and the public blockchain is modified to reflect the transaction.

@blue Snow and anyone else who's bored stuck at home and wants to play with this, I uploaded the portable executable version to my google drive, the link is below. I signed the portable with my PGP key, and uploaded the sig file. Links to both the key and the sig file are also linked below. I built the binaries on March 21st, so it may not the most recent version available, but it's close.
If you use it, please keep in mind that this is a pre-beta release. I take no responsibility for it's misuse, and any loss of funds you may experience as a result of it's use. Use it at your own risk.By downloading and using this file, you are acknowledging and accepting these terms.
To use it with testnet, you'll need to create a shortcut, and add this code to end of the "target" field in the shortcut's properties. A space is needed before the code, so make sure it's there. The whole field should look something like this: C:\path\to\file\location\electrum-3.3.8-1821-g1448bfe93-portable.exe --testnet

Status report: I've had a chance to set up one of the wallets on my Ubuntu VM (still on the same physical PC.) Both wallets are capable of sending payments to starblocks.acinq.co, but still have trouble sending payments to each other. I wasn't using VPN when I created the first requests, so I tried again. For the second test I turned VPN on the primary OS and on the VM, and confirmed both had different IPs. I didn't expect this to solve the issue, but I figured it was worth the experiment. I'm wondering if this is an issue with Electrum itself, and not the fact that I'm using the wallets on the same computer. Would one of you be so kind as to help me test this theory? Here's a testnet request for 100 satoshis, please only only use Electrum to fill this request. lntb10u1p085ne6pp5rx5s46gw2ygwv3vzm8cxnnpjgrafem67xuvgpkhepu5uaq6uqgkqdzq2fjhzat9wd6zqen0wgsxsetvwqsxvun0d5syy6t5vdhkjmn5v9kxkgrdv4kkyetjcqzynxqyz5vqrzjq027z73uyyl7fy8pkrpcn7x0el82pz3fw974p2052de4uz4j5lqqxxtly5qqqmqqqqqqqqlgqqqqqqgq9qqpl4tgpvlc6eylpqj0z7h29kl0ss3x3xepruz0j2j4kkl4hekms49m3ha7hsw74elle76mpaqs0uum3gs4zvy3rf9kf0e5urgdljcssq84pfnl
One other test I will do when I have time is to close the channels, and open another while connected to VPN. I'm not sure if my IP as anything to do with it, or if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

@direwolfm14, i don't want be the as...le who tlks about this but please open the second link. Are all of those who replied got a temp-ban?!! I can't confirm as I never saw the thread in question and I'm not a moderator, but I believe so. I have no reason to doubt robovak's LoyceV's work. @yahoo, am not complaining or anything but i need a space where i can write at least I'm not trying to be an asshole, but there is nothing preventing you from writing. If you have things to say regarding the things you're reading here on the forum, they're likely to remain pertinent next week. @suchmoon, huh, am enjoying my times, i already teached my 4 years old son how to ride a bike More of this.

What makes you think the owner of the channel is a scammer? I didn't read the whole history of the channel, but I found a message pinned to the top, that directs people to the official website and twitter account. Here's the channel owner's profile: I did a google search for the owner's Telegram username, specifying to search this forum, and the results mostly pointed to user btcven, (u=70647). Note btcven's signature also references an IRC chat username that's identical to the Telegram username, and has a vanity address that includes the same username. 1rdymachKZpA9pTYHYHMYZjfjnoBW6B3k

I've just tested to send to my other wallet (same PC) with enough inbound capacity, and it also failed to send with the same error. I never had any problem with sending and receiving lightning funds (testnet) to others, though.
I had an intuition that running both wallets on the same PC might have had something to do with it, but I dismissed that notion. I'll try running one wallet on the VM and see if that works. If not, I'll use a laptop. I'll report what I find.
|
|
|
That error is quite generic, it's hard to tell is issue. It will also pop-up when you tried to send lightning payments if there's no opened channel, 'opening' or 'disconnected' channel status, poor connection, etc. When you click on the lightning logo ( beside the seed/connection icon), you'll see something like this: How many channels and nodes do you see? In the " Channels" tab, what does it say under " status" of the channel? Interesting, I see you have a fourth line in your pop-up window, I don't see that line in mine. The line that's missing is the "requesting xxxx channels." Both of my wallets show the status of my channels as "OPEN." The "node alias" column is blank, the "local" shows how much I have in the channel, 0.1 BTC, and the "remote" column is 0.

i save the private key
Create another address. Your staked message will be meaningless because of the reason nc50lc above. To put it simply, anyone can access your address because the private key is public already. how to create another address because i can't see that here ,https://brainwalletx.github.io/#generator or i will compressed? Don't use brainwallet, it's an online service and any private key you generate using that service could be compromised. I've found the easiest way to create a secure wallet is by using Electrum, but you must still be careful as there are a lot of fake versions. Only download the software from electrum.org, and learn to verify the download. There's a lot of information in the electrum sub-board, here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0
|
|
|
That's the default address and private key pair when you generate a brainwallet without any texts.
My goodness, it's worse than I thought.
|
|
|
Brainwallet I certainly hope you didn't upload your private key to brainwallet to sign that message.
