What we do know is that Bernie is way less hated than Hillary. This is evidenced by the lack of a "Never Bernie" movement. This is what leads me to believe he would have easily beaten Trump as Trumps "win" (he lost the popular vote by the largest number of voters ever for an elected president) was more of a statement of how much people disliked Hillary rather than how much they liked Trump.

I think it's more that nobody cared enough or thought it was important enough to have a "never Bernie" movement. Like the guy's nothing but a washed up old hippie revomiting same old lies of lots of free stuff.
3162  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Another conspiracy of Google hmm on: May 12, 2019, 06:12:48 AM

That project was killed by Microsoft themselves when they released Edge. And after not too long, they also killed their own "new" rendering engine in Edge as well, switching to the same one used in Chromium, so Edge too, is just another Chrome now.

A couple of decades ago, back when i still made the mistake of using Microsoft products, i remember avoiding Internet Explorer EVEN to download another browser, for that i used the bsd ftp client that Microsoft used to bundle with windows, to download a decent browser from a command line console, as God intended.

Google is, in a way, repeating what used to be Microsoft practices, now on the internet. If their web services behave poorly with other non Chromium based browsers, this should indicate what their intention is.

Unfortunately most people seem to be bought to the idea that Chromium based browsers (it not outright Chrome itself) is "the best" (it isn't).

Its funny how people worried about centralization in Bitcoin mining, or in altcoins, don't pay attention to centralization of web browser or operating system. Are you still using Chrome? and Windows?

Did you even notice when all the youtube downloaders were removed and banned from the "chrome web store"? What else is to come? Keep giving them power by your voluntary use of their products, and eventually (when its too late) you will find out...

You are actually making sense, By the way I would like to ask you a question what certain browser are you using right now? We should have to promote using free products that is what Github is currently promoting I am currently thinking of new alternative services such as UC for my browser I am tho having a hard time when it comes to emailing system

Neither a browser nor an email system is a complicated enough product to request the likes of google or Microsoft to create it.

It should be possible to operate using a browser that does zero reporting upstream to anyone, anywhere.

Search engines are another matter, granted. But there's nothing wrong with stopping the leaks one at a time.

All of these are idiotic fantasies based on wrong presumptions.

Where would you like to start with the process of intelligent debunking?

CO2 --> fuel?

The end product of exothermic combustion is CO2.

CO2 does not magically reform into something that is exothermic, right?

same is my question who is supporting those terror organisations, how could they get access to such automatic weapons and who is selling such expensive weaponsto them and earning huge sum out of it. Why don’t you accepting that it’s a game of money, power and politics.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Why don't you elaborate on it?

Now, does Islam seek to establish a world wide caliphate, or does it not?
how could you say that. Who invaded Afghanistan, Iraq. How can you justify barbarism in Myanmar where Muslims were killed because of their religion. Who invaded Palestine?

Why is it not a question to ask? For example....At one time, the Soviet Communist Party had a specific, avowed goal of taking over the world. The USA does not. Israel does not. Today, China does not. Etc. It's easy enough to figure this out.

there are more than 50 Muslims states in the world and have enough land to live we do not want to invade any other country to caliphate. No Muslims country runs by a caliphate so how can you accuse Muslims of that

Takiyya...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldwide_caliphate

Over time, various historians and scholars have had differing ideas about the origins of this concept. One viewpoint is expressed in the 2007 book Islamic Imperialism: A History, in which the author Efraim Karsh explains his belief of the concept's origin:[11]

As a universal religion, Islam envisages a global political order in which all humankind will live under Muslim rule as either believers or subject communities. In order to achieve this goal it is incumbent on all free, male, adult Muslims to carry out an uncompromising struggle "in the path of Allah", or jihad. This in turn makes those parts of the world that have not yet been conquered by the House of Islam an abode of permanent conflict (Dar al-Harb, the "house of war") which will only end with Islam's eventual triumph.

Trump and Putin Hold a 90-Minute Telephone Call, US Liberals Go Ballistic

Trump and Putin Hold a 90-Minute Telephone Call, US Liberals Go Ballistic
05-09-2019 • By Robert Bridge Strategic Culture

Like a pit bull with its favorite chew toy, the Democrats refuse to abandon the debunked 'Russian collusion' script, to the point where a simple phone call between Moscow and Washington triggers rabid media hysterics.

When tasked to cover last week's telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, the left-leaning mainstream media had a golden opportunity to prove it had moved beyond partisan politics, above intrigue, and above subjective bias. Predictably, it failed the test miserably. What the media did prove, however, came as no surprise: it is totally incapable of casting a gaze beyond the debris-strewn battlefield field known as Russiagate and report on US-Russia relations in a dispassionate and honest manner.

Instead, it obsessed over petty details, like the duration of the phone call and the fact that it was initiated by Donald Trump instead of the Russians. "Trump Initiated Putin Call, And It Was 90 Minutes, Not 60," a snooty headline in the Huffington Post screamed, much like dozens of other unhinged outlets as if the world's myriad problems can be sorted out in an afternoon over Twitter.

Cool

The leader of the USA damn sure better be making 90 minute phone calls with other world leaders...

New updates: please check OP - Edit 8-

Thanks

I am meriting you 5 because of the diligent and useful updating of the OP. That is a good method.
+1 To that.

Without a doubt an amazing thing to see someone continue to update their threads instead of just posting 50 different threads that are just different news headlines.

This is what we should have more of in P&S

Can we do something about that as a group? would be great if moderator "flying hellfish" and other senior members can give their input on this issue.

Maybe it could be a sticky stating a recommended format.

Unfortunately given the behavior of Flying H. I suspect this recommendation would be twisted and subverted to his totalitarian and communist sympathies.

Such as banning "Reeeee" threads.

3171  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: May 08, 2019, 04:43:13 PM
i dont think Islam hates people, Islam is the most peaceful religion of world. Its about you people how you differentiate between religion and some bad followers of that religion. People are calling Islam as extremist religion, Muslims as terrorist and on the same time Muslims are on the receiving end of terrorism. How is it even possible ? Have you forgotten the recent incident of Newzeland which shocked the whole world except extremist and haters.

What is your guess as to how many have been killed or injured in Islamic terror attacks since the New Zealand anti-Islam attack of March 15, 2019?
Than what about the Muslims killed in palestine,Syria, iraq,Kashmir,Afghanistan and many other regions of world. It’s a war and game of politics and money to sell weapons and Muslims are the targets. I admit some rotten apples are present but it doesn’t mean you can stereotype whole community and around 2 billion people living on earth. What about Hitler who was responsible for death of 80 million people in ww2 and he was Christian but we don’t blame whole community

Well, what about Muslims killed in various places? Most Muslim terrorist attacks are directed at other Muslims. Should the world care if you want to kill off each other? Sure, sometimes Muslims are the targets. But strife between Islamic factions goes way back, doesn't it?

RE Hitler, he was most certainly not waging a religious war. Islamic violent extremism today resembles WWII Japanese aggression rather than German.

Given that most killed or injured in Islamic terrorist attacks are Muslims, why will you not answer the simple question I asked —

What is your guess as to how many have been killed or injured in Islamic terror attacks since the New Zealand anti-Islam attack of March 15, 2019?

One idea is that after watching for real an intervention unfold, Maduro just might break and resign or surrender. Or he could play Martyr, it is unknown.

Do note that the opposition to Maduro is not equal to the support for the political opposition. There is also, a lot of disillusionment with them, even Guaidó. Due to their mistakes, lack of action at times, or late moves, hidden deals with the gov, etc. There are two decades of that already. Many people just gave up and left the country. Others just fled escaping poverty, and in some cases political persecution. About 10% of the population.

The approval rating of Maduro? Its like 15~20%.

It's unfortunate the economic and the political issues cannot be separated.

Comparable hyperinflations come to mind.

China 1948-1950, Germany 1921-1922, Zimbabwe ? 1990s.

i dont believe the fact that Islam hates people. people only hate you if perfectly you know you are not doing the right thing. why would Islam hate you for doing the right thing at the right time. i think this is a mindset and an individual affair and has got nothing to do with Islam. lets love all and hate none because God is love.

fine with me...

but them haters gonna hate...

....It doesn't appear that either company has very strong internal controls in terms of making sure ban/removal actions are done in accordance with company policy.

It's important to understand that NO SUCH THING COULD EVER WORK.

Throughout history many times policy has been decreed, interpreted and executed and we can study the results today.

Always learn from history, then apply what you've learned to this new internet social media.

Consider the following two truisms.

(A) Politically, no solutions are ever considered that are not amendable to corruption.

(B) Facebook is amendable to corruption.

All that deplatforming has nothing to do with they claimed reasons. If it did, they would be able to be transparent about it and show which posts violated which guidelines/ToS.

Wouldn't such a course of action pretty much have to be coming from the very top and be a company policy?

Otherwise a company would be quite to flag cases where the claimed reasons didn't add up with the facts and the guidelines/ToS.
3176  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: May 06, 2019, 11:27:15 PM
After the recent breaches in Facebook and the data that hackers have stolen, I don't believe that Zuckerberg is capable of protecting our privacy.
And I also think that he indeed doesn't want the full privacy because if that happens then he will probably lose data from the users and he wouldn't be able to "feed" his AI algorithms with userdata.
Just IMHO but for most people shouldn't really care about those hacks until hackers are able to get your private messages (which did not happened as I know). Most of the other data may only be used for different kinds of online advertisment and worth really nothing.

What we need is a blockchain based messaging app.

These guys https://bizzpro.co have something promising but we still need to see if they can deliver the full thing before Facebook launches its own token.
We already got Telegram and everything seems to be fine with it.
At the current stage Facebook became an unusable piece of shit that can only be used as a newsfeed. There is no point in trying to make a better messenger.
Also, their own coin would be the same centralized garbage. After reading this thread do you really believe that they may do something related with an increased privacy?

We use telegram extensively and no facebook.
3177  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many people say "Muslims are terrorists" Should we say that? on: May 06, 2019, 03:29:12 PM
Freedom of speech does not mean one can play with the sentiments of others or to pass remarks which can hurt there. There are around 2 billion Muslims living in this world and world is blaming 2 billion people because of few extremists and oppressors. Around 70 to 80 million people died in world war 2 just because of single person "Hitler" so should we blame Christianity or Germany for this, obviously no because you can not generalize whole population.

Yes that is EXACTLY what freedom of speech means, and this is exactly why Islam is not compatible with Western values or freedom in general. Islam is a globalist totalitarian supremacist political system under the guise of a religion. Even if 10% of Muslims are extremists, that is still 200 million radical Islamists committing acts of terror and violence. That number is unrealistically low as evidenced by these stats as well as many others. Shariah law is not compatible with freedom, period.

As far as WW2, last I checked this was not a religious war, and Hitler and the Nazis were not particularly fond of Christians either. He did however get along quite well with Islam. Islam needs to clean its own house, because the West is waking up to the taqiyya and if you refuse to clean your own house we will do it for you on our terms not yours.

History shows how tolerant Christianity is, until one day they are oppressed too much, then they will spend every waking moment dedicated to obliterating their enemies. No one wants that. Stop pretending Islam does not have a problem, because the world knows it does, and either the real true Muslims can work to repair it or wait until the world starts striking back without mercy. If the only thing Islam respects is strength then their cups will overflow with it until they are washed away in a torrent of blood. The times for making excuses for Islam has passed. The time for reformation is now. I want people to have freedom of religion and to worship God how they choose, I will not however stand silent while this vile violent supremacist ideology is given the protective cloak of religion to protect it from criticism. Islam itself deserves criticism.

Arguably the Japanese side of WWII may be considered a religious war. This is often overlooked and the concepts are somewhat confusing.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/shinto/history/emperor_1.shtml

Divinity of the Emperor

Many cultures have attributed divinity or significant spiritual gifts to their rulers. The rulers of ancient Egypt and Rome were treated as gods, and medieval kings (including England's Henry VI) were regarded as having the ability to cure diseases with the royal touch.

The Japanese concept of the divinity of the Emperor is often misunderstood by Westerners. Neither the Emperor nor most of his people ever thought that the Emperor was a God in the sense of being a supernatural supreme being.

From the 6th century onwards it was accepted that the Emperor was descended from the kami (in this context gods), was in contact with them, and often inspired by them.

This didn't make him a god himself, but rather imposed on him the obligation of carrying out certain rituals and devotions in order to ensure that the kami looked after Japan properly and ensured its prosperity.

Uh... no. If you want to be a technocratic subject feel free. They do not have a right to deny people their rights against their will. Furthermore these companies not only take government funding, they also get government allocation of bandwidth. They benefit from the infrastructure we all pay for with taxes. Furthermore they are an illegal monopoly. Even further they are acting as publishers by curating content, which makes them liable for what they allow to be published and strips their safe harbor protections as a public commons. If you want to live as a spineless jellyfish subject that's fine, just stop telling people lies to escape your own cognitive dissonance.

Can you state some proof of this claims that they are taking government funding? What certain structures were you referring to? I get it we all have the rights the problem here is we are using their services for free and they have certain rules about it or wait we are again on that old problems in which we agree to such terms without even reading it?

What certain lies Am I actually telling you? I was just stating a certain point of view. You can't just call someone liar because they have a different point of view to yours instead why would you allow me to understand your perspective

When FB bans and restricts conservatives under the guise of their provoking violence, that's a lie. We all know it, and we all know what they are doing. They are banning conservative opinions.

My impression of the legal arguments is they don't have a chance making the arguments you have pointed out. Sure, it may go to the Supreme Court.

Satoshi, one man....took on the entire world's banking system.
Taking on something is not the same as beating it. Taking on a social media platform doesn't require that much capital (assuming you don't want to be a money burning startup).

It's not impossible that Facebook goes the way of Myspace and Friendster.
True.

Of course. I point this out because of the high number of kool-aid drinkers.

It may not be likable, but yes, freedom of speech means exactly that...

....There are around 2 billion Muslims living in this world and world is blaming 2 billion people because of few extremists and oppressors. Around 70 to 80 million people died in world war 2 just because of single person "Hitler" so should we blame Christianity or Germany for this, obviously no because you can not generalize whole population.

Perhaps half of the WW2 deaths were due to Japanese aggression, which bears numerous similarities to Islamic extremism.

Certainly you can and should blame the whole population, and Germany, because it was the country as a whole that went to war.  It was Germany that we fought, not Hitler. It was Japan and it's people that fought in other lands to enslave them. Not the Emperor.

Duhh...
