3181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Want to understand supply of ETH n ETH Classic on: July 24, 2016, 10:57:01 AM
hmm interesting question, that brought up this in my mind and i would like it if someone with more experience could explain it to me but i think it works this way:

this mean anybody who had Ethereum before the hard fork now can have the same amount on both chains meaning he can spend the same coins on both chains and receive twice the value in bitcoin!
3182  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: July 24, 2016, 10:50:31 AM
I really doubt bitcoin will get lower, it may drop to 600 dollars but those its normal as bitcoin is very volatil crypto currencie. I believe before the halving day people expected a huge price increase and those didnt happened, soo they may be trying to get out to avoid loose.

People who expected that don't know how markets work. Any price increase directly attributable to the halving happens weeks, and probably months, beforehand because markets are forward-looking. If you consider that the price more than doubled in the 10 or so months preceding the halving, I'd say that looks about right.

that is not how a normal market works, that is how a hyped up market where people do panic buy/sell works. in a normal market the price rise should happen "after" the halving and before it there will only be small rise because of the hype or whatever. but the real rise should happen after the halving and when the supply was diminishing because that is the real effect.
3183  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin will pass 1000 usd again ? on: July 24, 2016, 10:44:54 AM
Until now, all I predicted in this subforum in 2016 came true. I predicted a pre-halving pump in the 700s. It got as high as 780. And I predicted also that after the halving things would slow down. The only thing I missed was that I predicted more volatility in July - I thought it would go faster to the bottom, which I expect to be at 400-450$.

Now, to go back to the topic: I expect we will see $1000 in the timeframe between mid-2017 and mid-2018. Why?

First, the little halving bubble must deflate now. It will go at least as low as 550-580, if not dip into the 400s. But if Bitcoin stays above $400, then the general expectations are bullish. Then we have managed to hold a significantly higher price level than in 2015, and this will build up confindence in the current price levels. But such a process is slow and we have no halving and no other "significant" event in the next years. But in mid-2017, if we still are above 400, confidence in this price level will be so high that we'll see more buyers again and probably a buildup to 1000. In bull markets, the halving really could become significant, because when there are few sellers the miners' supply will be crucial.
Isn't it possible that we might see $1000 by the end of this year? Bitcoin is getting more popular these days.

It certainly has a very small possibility of happening, but I wouldn't trust too much on it. I think a nice price target for this year is to reach another over 2 year high by hitting $800 again.

there is no argument about the possibility of reaching $1000 again because it will happen some day. but when? it is not possible to tell that.

so i think we can't say anything at this point until price starts moving up and after testing the waters we can give a more proper answer to this based on how much resistance bitcoin is gonna see on the way up.
3184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: July 24, 2016, 10:35:43 AM
Just curious since the last discussion I had was about gambling vs trading. I know trading can seem to be a bit of a gamble as well, but I see it a little bit like poker. It's a combination of math and psychology. Maybe not the same ratio though, just generalizing  Tongue

there is always some traces of luck in trading too, so maybe and just maybe you can call it as a gamble. but this is just a very tiny part of trading and the major thing about trading is the ability to speculate the market based on the history and the news you hear about the future.

for example release of a new application for a particular coin or a big exchange adding that altcoin to their site can cause a big rise in many cases. so if you know this and buy you made a decision based on your experience but if you buy out of the blue and price goes up you made a gamble.
3185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Happen If Gambling was not introduced? on: July 24, 2016, 10:30:43 AM
Who never dreamed to had born rich? Or to be part of some rich family, knowing that money doesnt buy happiness, but with gambling people dream with it and they risk their money to try to reach the goal to be or to become the next healty person, soo i believe gambling its good for reach the dreams.

Gambling is good for breaking dreams but not for reaching dreams, and gambling is not designed and made for making anyone rich, it just depends on luck of the people who gets rich by just a small bet but it doesnt happen with everyone involved in gambling, it rather makes people poor by snatching what they have.

then you have to change your dreams and start having some more realistic dreams. and also remember that this is gambling and there is some wins from time to time that can very well be hitting the jackpot or winning the lottery and getting rich beyond your wildest dreams.

but to plan ahead and think you can surely win that, is not gonna happen. instead you should think more realistically and use gambling withing your limits.
3186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: July 24, 2016, 10:25:49 AM
this can never happen because the first thing that defines bitcoin is being a currency then it is an investment. granted people are using bitcoin more as an investment rather than a currency but if it weren't a currency the value couldn't be this high.

besides there is no reason why people not wanting to spend bitcoin, because bitcoin is so good as a currency.
3187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: July 24, 2016, 10:20:04 AM
Easy. For most people, BTC IS a scam, in that it has no apparent advantage over fiat.

Some people do indeed think Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme or something similar to that, but it's just a small group of people. They only talk and think like that because of the media that has been hammering on Bitcoin like it is an insect that need to be squashed. It's a shame that people don't look in Bitcoin themselves to find out the truth.

The media is making a lot materias about bitcoin darkeness business, ilegal activities, and for sure the biggest ponzi ever created. Soo several people believe in everything they see, being real or not they believe, on this time bitcoin growing slowly because those news, if the news stop attack bitcoin, it would be traded at several places.
That's so true. I have only heard of bitcoins in the mass media that involves crimes, especially theft and money laundering. Those are the common news about bitcoins now a days. Still, only very few people may start hating based on those type of news. For others, it serves as promotion of bitcoins to spread out.

there is always negativity in the news about everything because apparently being negative has more viewers to it! and since media wants attention that is why they only say the negative.

besides recently there has been more positive news about bitcoin than ever. especially with the rise and with the more stable price.
3188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price going up? on: July 21, 2016, 12:04:59 PM
Bitcoin prices always going up but off course there are some drops in the midle but that is with everything. There will always be a rise at the end and i think the end of this year
will have a nice rising. So if you just hold some of your coins for the end of year 2016 you will be very happy with the profit you make.

Yeah holding till the end of the year can be really profitable, if halving allows you to make profits then you should sell your coin and collect the profits and buy it again when price falls after the halving.
Well I think holding till the end of the year is a wise decision man. IMO though it is good if it will rise very big and big kick will happen this coming halving then fall back again hahaha I think it will be good to see. I do hope that im in front of my computer when that happens.

I do not think the price will rise again due to halving. It has already risen due to halving in the last 6 months.

you can never know this for sure.
first of all halving rise will only happen after while passed "after" the halving happened not before it. so logically there should be a rise in the future.
and also the rise in the past 6 months can be directed towards growth of bitcoin and also the fact that price was artificially kept down because whales were dumping and keeping it down to buy more.

3190  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why need to use a Mixer? on: July 21, 2016, 11:45:03 AM
I read some signature campaign about BTC mixer. I never try, but seems this is a good opportunuty for privacy. I would understand more about this kind of service and how BTC mixer are safe. Any Mixer user could explai me his experience and his suggestion?

When you steal coins or you want to buy some illegal stuff on the darknets you need to mix your coins.

Yeah i agree with you, because I think if we get a bitcoin legally why bother paying more for bitcoin mixer. And plus if the reason is a transaction that is anonymous, I think just by using one address for one transaction only your identity will be safe and your privacy will remain intact Smiley

i will redirect you to this article on bitmixer.io :
Why should I mix my coins?

it is not all about scamming people or wanting to hide your illegal activity. if i am not mistaken it was BurtW who got arrested and was forced to pay a lot of legal fees to prove he is not a criminal just because he used bitcoin

edit: there you go

3192  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: July 20, 2016, 11:44:19 AM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?

i am not rich with bitcoin and i don't dream about it but also i have made some money from working for bitcoin and also some altcoin trading so it is not so much of a dream for me anymore.
3193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing investment on Gambling sites on: July 20, 2016, 11:26:28 AM
you can't really expect a 100% safe way to invest bitcoin or your money in general, there is always some risks involved.
but the only thing that you can do is to find a reputable gambling site that has been around for some time and invest in their business because investing in new places can sometimes be very risky because they can have bugs in their system that a hacker could exploit and empty their bankroll so fast and you will lose also.
so that is why you should find a place that has been around for at least a year and all bugs were fixed already.
3194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the easiest way to make a profit from gambling? on: July 20, 2016, 11:21:01 AM
it is hard to make a big profit from gambling but in my experience the only way to make a profit from gambling is using a good strategy, and you have to modify that strategy to match your own style and your own bankroll to be successful in the end. and also you will need a lot of luck to win and make a profit.
3195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners Should Be Proud on: July 20, 2016, 11:17:50 AM
yeah we all should be proud to be a part of bitcoin history, this reminds of that old topic here saying we are the "wealthy elite" which i also agree with.

nobody knew bitcoin would grow to $1000 one day back in 2008-2009 but it happened anyways and bitcoin still has a long way to go.
3196  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: July 18, 2016, 12:32:17 PM
this year we will surely see a big rise in bitcoin price for sure. everything is pointing that out in the market. and everybody is also ready for the rise and most importantly the whales have been getting ready for the rise with their accumulations in the past few weeks for another time. so i predict a $1000+ rise this year.
3197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your favorite gambling games? on: July 18, 2016, 12:21:39 PM
after all this time i come back to playing dice games, and i really enjoy it too. but i mostly play dice because i can play it everywhere on any device and mostly with an automatic betting system.

Poker multiplayer ? That would be good of you can do it. More fun to be had. You can add a special faucet just for the poker table it will be better I think for us all. Wouldn't you think.  ?

in my opinion, poker is one of those games that should only be played face to face not online. playing it online doesn't have the same feeling at all.
3198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling is Fun? on: July 18, 2016, 12:13:26 PM
you need to make the gambling fun for yourself, it is not fun on its own if you are killing yourself to make a profit and failing over and over.
instead you should relax more and try to have fun with the experience. these are all some kind of games after all. so it is up to you to decide whether you want to be a nervous gambler or a relaxed person who has fun while playing a game.
3199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If gambling is illegal in your country, would you still gamble? on: July 18, 2016, 12:07:06 PM
legal state of gambling has never changed anything about how many people are doing it. even illegal forms of gambling like underground gambling on fights are still being done. so i don't think even if online gambling with bitcoin was illegal anybody would mind.
besides it is online and we all can use ways to make ourselves more anonymous like hide ip.

What are your plans(besides buying things)if bitcoin price skyrockets and makes you a millionaire in USD
Do you have plans such as starting a business? a restaurant?bar? making art, movies, fashion, etc? creating something?

if bitcoin price goes so high that i become a millionaire i will celebrate for a week first and then start my own business, most probably an online business franchise to make even more money.
