323  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why did you have faith in btc? on: September 25, 2018, 08:32:15 AM
Seeing btc going down for quite some time now, I thought people will be withdrawing their investment to shares and others business. But it amaze that btc is gaining more popularity and people are still rushing btc. What is the secret behind btc?

actually selling BTC makes the market being down.
SEC decision will bring more clarification to the market
324  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get rid of emotions when trading on: September 25, 2018, 08:30:37 AM
Our brain is hardwired to go into a fight or flight mode under stress, resulting in emotional responses like greed (taking too large risks), anger, fear (panic-closing) or fear of missing out. While this is a good thing when fighting lions in the savannah, it is a horrible thing when trading, and you need to make smart decisions and keep to your plan to keep making profits.
This topic will focus on how to get rid of emotions while trading, or at least make the best decisions which are not based on emotional responses of our ape brain. So how can we achieve that?

1 with good preparation
2 with checklists
3 with process orientation
4 with active emotional detachment

Good preparation:
If you watch a Football game or a Boxing match usually the team or player wins that has done the better preparation. The same goes with trading. Accumulate knowledge about the subjects of trading as much as possible. Start with small amounts and small leverages until you really know what you are doing. Be consistent, create good habits early on and keep them up. Make sure that you are mentally fit, live healthy, eat well, sleep enough and regularly, and exercise enough. Have a schedule. Track your preparation, track your results and analyse them. What were mistakes you could avoid in the future?

Checklists:
When things go down and away, it is always good to have a checklist. For example: surgeons usually have checklists that prevent them to go off the rails while performing a complicated procedure. Their checklists makes it absolutely clear in which order they need to perform what step, which frees up mental brain power for the actual process. So from your past make checklists what made your trades profitable and focus on those kind of trades that have done well in your past.

Process Orientation:
With the checklist, we should be able to make good trades more often than not. All we need to do now is focus our metal brain power on the process and not on the outcome. As we have built enough expertise and a checklist that we follow, we focus on rules and our discipline, not on the outcome of a single trade, because as we all know one trade can always be good or bad, independent of how well it was thought out.

Active emotional detachment:
There is something called Tilt in Poker. Some players will actively try to insult players after bad beats to make the go tilt, or "emotional". This will result in very bad decision making. Maybe you remember Zinedine Zidane in his very last World Cup Game, head butting the italian player and getting sent of the pitch with a red card. The worst possible outcome. TILT.
If you still feel like you get emotional about trades, there are a few things you can do: Lowering your margins, lowering your leverage, take a break, breathing exercises, watch your favorite series or listen to music. Get a little distance to your trades, before continuing. NEVER trade on TILT.

How are you dealing with your emotions? Anything to add or to take away from this?

trading crypto or trading forex/stocks/commodities is always quite a nervous thing for anybody.
still I follow certain rules when trading:
1. create a trading plan (number of deals, required profit)
2. follow this plan
3. do not overtrade
4. trade only those trading instruments which you understand and which are in your trading plan
5. ready to get losses and understand how much you can lose
6. leave trading for some time if you are stressed or under any other emotions which are not even related with trading

325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a required amount before you start trading? on: September 24, 2018, 01:50:04 PM
If you invest in traded coins then there is no minimum, but if you invest in ICO projects then there is a minimum level that the project offers. In my opinion, now the price of coins is very cheap, you should buy valuable coins.

I guess the minimum depends on how much is planned to be earned.
Anyway, lots of altcoins or perspective tokens are at lowest levels currently. Time to buy more at a good discount I suppose
326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where next? Up or down! on: September 24, 2018, 01:48:48 PM
I have always thought that even if Bitcoin can't introduce ETF, it can still develop well, but if ETF succeeds, then the market will grow faster!
ETF created problems for bitcoin and I think ETF is the cause for lower price of bitcoin. Due to low price and decreasing price of bitcoin most people are now converting their money to Altcoin because they think and I also admit that Altcoin possess more potential than bitcoin . Why one should lose his money or waste his time in bitcoin? They are happy in Altcoin.

right, some purchase altcoins for btc though we must keep in mind that btc is a market mover, so once btc starts a rally, all the rest will follow
327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where next? Up or down! on: September 21, 2018, 01:22:15 PM
In my opinion we need to wait SEC's decision. Nowadays this decision can affect cryptocurrency market. Accordingly, price of Bitcoin isn't more volatile. Otherwise the price had gone down to the dip until now.

yes, in case SEC decides not to affect crypto market then there would be an huge flow of institutional investors which will dramatically affect the market

I was wondering if there is a required amount of bitcoins you need to have before you start trading? Also, a little out of topic, but is there a required amount that a person needs to be earning per month before he could start buying bitcoins?

There is no certain amount, you can start with any convenient amount you like. Just try to stay away from using leverage (margin trading) while gaining experience. that could make a really bad impression on you...
331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where next? Up or down! on: September 19, 2018, 11:40:37 AM
We are approaching an important event, ETF applications will be considered at the end of September.
Next, we have a more positive news background: Mike Novograts said that the market finally passed the "bottom" - https://forklog.com/izvestnyj-bitkoin-investor-obyavil-chto-dno-projdeno/
Then the American holding Morgan Stanley intends to launch a new tool – bitcoin swaps, and so on! - https://forklog.com/bank-morgan-stanley-gotovit-k-zapusku-bitkoin-svopy/
From the point of view of technical analysis, we begin to shrink in a triangle, the probability of breaking in the direction opposite to the expected is equally equal, despite the positive news.

Chart short positions rolls over and rests at the level of $ 39,000, which at some point can be a trap for bears! - https://www.tradingview.com/x/XSfaUEhc/
I would like to hear the opinion of more experienced traders, what are the possible layouts, what is the probability of breaking the lower boundary of the triangle?

I suppose we will have a short fall soon and rally afterwards right closer to Christmas

332  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the Best Coins to Buy? on: September 19, 2018, 11:39:48 AM
Most of altcoins are down with this market. So many experts and news say BITCOIN will go up in this year end. I think if Bitcoin goes up, other alternative coins are going up. So is my point true, What are the best coins to buy with this low prices.. Or Isn't this the time for buy coins?

I guess the best way is to check for tokens which have functioning service behind. like payment system, exchange, or any other service
333  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everyone loses money when the market is down right? on: September 19, 2018, 11:38:13 AM
Most of coin holders - yes, they do loose money when market falls but there are still a number of people who manage to earn profits in such conditions by daily trading.
The daily trade is not so easy for almost all the people who own coins. You need to be a well off person and have to have a weighted portfolio if you want to day trade. Majority of the people chose to hold their coins and simply stop trading when the market is down.

Moreover, a down market just means that the business activities are down and the portfolio is not gaining weight but the market ultimately reaches the phases of recovery and boom anyhow.

right, so low market could be just an opportunity to purchase extra coins with a good discount

335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everyone loses money when the market is down right? on: September 13, 2018, 02:47:43 PM
Not really that all of us are losing money due to the down markets.
I mean most loses money but there are inevitably people who bet on bitcoin price going down on bitmex and short futures on cme which means there are SOME people making money when the price is going down.

Not many people maybe but we don't know how much that very few people put into the bet so maybe that is a good chunk of money to be made during the fall. I do not think many people make money tho, most people lose money. I just wanted to point out that there are still people who bet on bitcoin price losing value which means there are people who do make money during the bear market which is sad because I do not wish price to go down and they bet for it.

sure, some people may earn money on that still, it can not last forever
336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My experience day trading - no moon shots on: September 12, 2018, 02:21:13 PM
Hi

I wanted to write a small piece about my experience day-trading since I switched my focus from moon shots and started listening to the folks at Voodoo Crypto: https://discord.gg/BN9P2tk

Moon shots are great - who doesn't love making 10, 20, 50%+ on a single trade. But over time this just isn't going to work unless you have the best TA or insider info.

Instead, I've more recently been learning about day trading based on depth chart analysis. Picking coins with huge order books (+100 BTC buy/sell) and huge volume (+1,000 BTC in 24hrs) to avoid the manipulation from whales - getting the charts assessed by the team and trading off the fluctuations.

My aim is to make 1% in a day - that's super easy, especially with indicators suggesting which way the price will ebb and flow. An example chart is in the image below (it's ADA so don't hurt me if it isn't your favourite Cheesy but it is the first one I grabbed, coins vary depending on what satisfies the criteria):

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/457359982346633227/488851698664734721/unknown.png

I would put an order in for the easy buy range and sell when it hits yellow. Keep stop losses tight (1%) to avoid getting burned.

I now aim for 1% in a day and once I achieve that I'm done - come back tomorrow and do it all again. Compounded it adds up quickly, hopefully this time next year I'll have made a good decision.

Come and see the free charts in the discord above and say hello. Any suggestions/improvements on this strategy always welcome.

1% daily is a good way to earn but with the help of other people or other people doing the trade, I would prefer not to do it. It's better to trade based on what I personally observed in the market than letting other people trade for me. Also it is a helpful tips you you shared in the community.

the greatest decision, not to let other people trade for you and take decisions on your side only.
1% a day is good profit though many of us came here to make 1% per minute, right?
that's really pity thing
337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everyone loses money when the market is down right? on: September 12, 2018, 02:17:55 PM
Not everyone loses money in decreasing market because there are some ways to make money like margin trading probably.

in many cases margin trading is quite specific and is done via CFD which does not affect market at all
338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: scalping strategy on: September 11, 2018, 12:49:32 PM
Good day everyone, what tools/strategy/method/indicators do you use in scalping trading strategy?
I am thinking of using bollinger bands+stochastic rsi, is this a good strategy?
I used RSI, Stoch, MACD. But eventually decided to abandon this strategy, takes a lot of time, and negatively affects the nervous system. Work that does not justify the time spent.

I guess you should combine it with fundamental analysis. Technical analisys is vital though it is useless to trade without checking news
339  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I daily earn 10% on: September 10, 2018, 01:57:58 PM
200$ investment is not enough to earn 10% DAILY also dont expect for the return daily in trading that is too hard much better if you aim is monthly income and try to add your capital because its too small for trading method. Goodluck mate there are many method that not required investment just try it and thank me later.

right, 200$ is just amount for gambling I believe or for investment trial. anyway this amount could be used for entertainment only.

rsi and bb can show you mid-term movements (a week or so) but in case of news outcome it will break all your strategy.
try ichimoku.
