321  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 15, 2023, 08:08:35 PM
No matter what kind of boycott is done there in Israel, I don't think it will work. It is a country chosen by God; for a long time, there has been fighting against Israel; even in the war, they cooperated with it, but they could not subjugate it. That is surprising.
Seems like you're coming sentimental from there. There's no point in arguing that Israel is chosen by God, how do you even say that? A country that has been at war for decades? A country whose citizens are dying a thousand times? A country who can go on with their people suffering for their war? how do you even thought about Israel being a country chosen by God?

Boycotting impacts may be seen as early as now but they would definitely feel it once it sink in on their economy. Maybe not now, but not forever.

That's why it's a boycott, and it's also not a good thing to do, and I'm sure that boycotting is going nowhere. This is all I can say about that. Then it is still another decision of the users of those products that will be followed, of course.
It's part of a protest against Israel, it's not a right thing to do I will agree on that, but that's how people voice out.
322  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Nirerecomend Mo Ba Ang Article Na Ito Sa Mga Baguhan Sa Bitcoin on: November 13, 2023, 06:58:23 PM

so wala pa ding tatalo sa Holding ng bitcoin for long term mate.
323  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bullrun Strategy Discussion on: November 13, 2023, 06:33:00 PM
Like today, nagreretrace pa lang yung market, maraming swings and most likely tatagal pa to ng ilang months bago magstart ang bullrun or magback ulit to bearish market.

Ang ginagawa ko ngayon is more on quick trades lang, short duration candles with target profit each day.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every man you failed to lecture about Bitcoin can be a victim to scam on: November 13, 2023, 06:22:52 PM
The title makes it sound like it is supposed to be our fault if other folks do not bother to do their own research.
Bullshit. Their mistakes are theirs alone.
It's like it's a science teacher's fault when their student tastes a soap. Teaching and commanding are different, when we teach someone, it's from knowledge we got when we are learning and gained from experience, commanding is like telling someone to do it just because you see it that way. When we tell someone something, and they do it, it's not our fault of what could  be the result, it's their decision to do so or not to.

Now if someone asks you about BTC then ja, one should do their best to explain it. Thing is - they have to ask - if they don't then it is not our fault if/when they get screwed.
I always tell " I'm not sure, you can try googling it" when someone asks me about crypto. I think that's the best reply to someone who asks you.

326  Local / Pilipinas / Re: When do you think is the next bull run will start, and why? on: November 08, 2023, 08:20:52 PM
This is related to my question on the thread created by @maslate. Since there's a lot of talk about a bull run, we might as well discuss it here. I would like to hear from the community about their predictions regarding when they think the bull run will start. Since the halving is approaching, and by looking at its historical patterns, it could be more likely next year. So, what do you all think, and what are your reasons for your guesses?
October is the earliest of 2024 and April the later of 2025 .

mostly Halving is the  reason why bull market happens but this takes time before having an effect. what I observed over the years is at least year after Halving.

327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 08, 2023, 07:04:24 PM
If he's going to be consistent and produce these numbers every single game although it's unlikely but at least close to this stat, it's not just going to be all about Jimmy whenever they're against with other teams.

Tomorrow, they're going to be with the Grizzlies. Lesser rest but I'm sure that he's still going to show some good numbers on that game.
It would be an easy win for them since there is nothing for the Grizzlies right now and they are struggling too much without their star players. As for the Miami Heat, they need to act fast and earn more wins in order to secure their playoff spot because it will be hard for them to do so if they keep losing the easiest game they will ever have this season.
Yeah, Grizzlies are struggling right now and they're on a 1 - 6 whilst for Heat, they've got the 3 - 4 standing. It depends on which momentum is going to be taken care of but likely it's going to be Heat's.
It's insane how Grizzlies only got 6 players to play tomorrow with Miami Heat, Imagine how exhausting that would be for the players of Memphis. In addition to that, Miami heat has a complete first 5 man tomorrow who competed for the last championship. This is hell for Grizzlies for real.

Anyway, I never thought you could challenge some miscalls after the games just like the Lakers did when they fell to the Heat yesterday. But they didn't get any good results because the calls were clean and there's nothing wrong with it. They should have just accepted their defeat and done the right thing in their next game because it wouldn't be good for them to act in such a way every time they lose in an intense game.
That's normal, because every game is important these days. It's fine to contest but if it's clear and the call is clean, they have no problem with that as well.

Anyway, that last second play of Lebron has been a hot topic today in social medias.
I mean, it's okay to contest, it is also part of the game but contesting after the entire game is quite awkward for me, it's like telling that the referees that they are wrong on their back. If I were them, I'll just accept all the call, at the end of the day Refs are human that commit mistakes as well, and just like the players they only have 2 eyes.
328  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 08, 2023, 06:50:46 PM
In the Philippines, the average salary is about $300 to $400

If I eat like bare cost for a day which is 3 meals, and cook at my house, I'd probably spend

around $8

I'll cook rice in the morning maybe half a kilo which will cost $0.5, it's up until the evening, will just reheat.

Then I'll cook eggs, hotdog, bread, or rice in the morning + coffee - $1.5

In the afternoon, I'll cook a viand - $4

In the evening, I'll cook another viand - $4

The sad part is that this budgeting of meals is just for 1 person, so imagine if you have a family to feed.

Average house rent is around $80 and bills at $30 to $50.

So it is advisable here in the Philippines, if you have a partner, both of you should work to afford above minimum salary meals, save before having a child.
329  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: November 07, 2023, 07:30:47 PM
1. Make a realistic budget
I think this one should be the best advice everyone should take note of. We always budget on everything, and when we say budgeting it also covers the cents we spend. Having a realistic budget also mean that you are thinking ahead of time, this means you already thought of the things you may need to spend from 0.1 to 100.

3. Break down luxury expenses[/b]
I don't have such a luxury on my body, not just a fan of, but I do have some expensive stuff but I can't find it any luxurious, however with luxury it should also be taken down based on our capacity. If we don't afford any luxury don't spend on it, even just to experience at least once, this is a big no. One thing I could advice to spend in luxury is if you can spend x10 of it, like sports car, mansion, designer clothes.

Everything should really be in moderation on which it does really need up that kind of control because we know that once you do mess up with this then
it would really be bring that huge impact into finances.
At the end of the day, this all comes down to our discipline on our finances. Be in control, do not let your money control you.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Believe That Reading People's Bad Experience Will Help You on: November 07, 2023, 06:37:26 PM
Who on earth hasn't heard or known how gambling is negatively affecting some people's financial lives? Nevertheless, a lot of individuals choose to ignore all the warning indications they have seen about the dangers of gambling addiction in people's lives. Still on still, they will continue to permit such events to occur to them.
Hmm. It's true that gambling can affect someone financial status, but these individuals do really know it can crush them to zero if they got involved with it heavily, and when I say heavily it means addiction taking bet outside their financial capability.
The fact remains that many would rather learn things the hard way. When they hear of other people's bad experiences with gambling, they are not moved or stopped unless they are painfully experiencing the worst with them. By then, they'll start moving on from their addiction to something more positive.
Maybe because they think that we do have our own lives, stories from other people or experience from others does not necessarily mean that they have going the same fate, but with gambling there's just two way, winning and losing, comes at worst the losing streak and become addicted to regain their losses.
That's the kind of thing we see in today's people's lives.  They prefer to experience it first before quitting any bad addiction that will cost their lives.
Definitely, some are not moved by other's stories unless it happened to them, not just with gambling specifically. Funny how they wanna experience some tragedy before realizing.
331  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Paraan para umunlad ang Buhay pinansyal on: November 07, 2023, 06:17:25 PM
332  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tataas Kaya Ang Awareness Ng MgaTao Sa Bitcoin Kung May Mga Billboard on: November 07, 2023, 05:32:36 PM

I agree, since ginagamit natin ang billboard for advertisement and awareness, I'm pretty sure makakatulong ito sa pagtaas ng awareness about bitcoin lalo na pag nilagay to sa mga congested roads and highways like expressways and EDSA.

333  Economy / Economics / Re: 500 quadrillion EURO printed in EU during the last 80 years but no inflation on: November 07, 2023, 05:01:11 PM
and the most insane part of the OP
the euro has not even been in existence for 80 years**
I'm not sure what's going on with OP's mind stating this, but I'm sure of he's not the only one with a google.

not all "money printing" is new money(inflation) but just refreshing greasy dirty used bank notes that got destroyed when converting to bank balance, then back to cash at withdrawal 1:1
I mean yeah, but generally printing money causes inflation as it increases the supply and inflationary pressure but if they somehow printed 500.... quadrillion in a span of 80 years they could have been part of USA now because of massive economic destabilization.

as for the amount 500quadrillion PRINTED.. that seem a silly number the OP plucked out of his head. even spread over 80 years(not possible**) that still 6.25quadrillion PRINTED a year.. sorry but that number is far far more then the money in circulation
I know I had to choose this topic after seeing that number  Grin

(**euro is only 24 years old meaning 20.83quadillion per year)

pretending that 6250trillion(20,833trillion) is PRINTED each year when the circulation(m1) is only 10 trillion.. shows the OP is out by thousand x multiple

This is simply insane, I wonder where he got this figures, probably some random Youtube videos he watched during 3am.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 07, 2023, 04:28:51 PM
The time has passed when people could believe that Bitcoin is a scam.
While there a small population that still believe that bitcoin is a scam, that only proves that bitcoin is great at attracting open minded people.

The reality imposed by Bitcoin through its strong presence and overcoming all the great difficulties it faced, especially by governments, proves that Bitcoin is not a fraud and that it is here to stay.
Well bitcoin has been a huge controversy on financial stance from people and its government, while bitcoin offers decentralization government want to disrupt it because it is simply against their system.

Therefore, you do not have to convince people that Bitcoin is not a scam. Let them discover that for themselves. When they see Bitcoin reaching astronomical numbers and that large institutions begin to accept Bitcoin and invest in it strongly, then they will know the truth. But they will regret it at that time.
Bitcoin does not care about being on top or being cared about, its purpose is to be a currency, which is not happening at the moment because we are using it as an asset, so let's not take a grudge to people who see bitcoin differently.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 06, 2023, 07:34:49 PM
CJ Mccollum injury sounds like such a freak injury, I mean we are so used to ACL and other muscle and bone injuries at this point that hearing about a collapsed lung seems like as unlikely as it gets, it's definitely something that I do not wish on my worst enemy.
I'm shocked McCollum got a collapsed right lung, such a freak injury for any sport/esport on the planet. Imagine having a collapsed lung mean that you can't breathe like a normal person does, and chances of getting life-threatening event at anytime! Definitely not something that a player could rest for months and heal itself. Prayers up for McCollum!

I mean I just had fever due to covid, and it was a high fever that made me cough up a lot too because my lungs were filled, and even that was like near death experience to me, obviously I am not a professional athlete and out of shape, but still it felt like I was about to die a few times, when in reality I wasn't, it just felt that way. This dude didn't just had coughing or anything, he had a COLLAPSED lung, that must be million times worse, I wish him speed recovery.
Me too, I got contacted with covid during the pandemic, and Imma say it's the worst that I've had, I had difficulty in breathing but it's manageable if I can stay calm and trying not to move a lot. Our lungs is a vital organ, that means his chances of getting back to sport is low and living a normal is out of money's reach.

That was the initial report. He was listed as questionable, but he chose to play. If he had been reported as out, we wouldn't have expected him to play. Regardless, the outcome still didn't favor the Warriors.
It's only Draymond that is still questionable, but it's okay if he doesn't play as long as Kuminga is on the courtside. I agree, regardless if Klay will play or not, Warriors still have this game on W.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest 8k for passive income. on: November 06, 2023, 07:13:21 PM
-snip-
I tried future trading and lost
I think you misunderstand the term passive income, you should not be actively involved in the business. Trading is an active activity.
I'm quite lost with OP's post with that, he want a passive income using an active method. But yeah I see his point, he wanted to have fixed income on active trading.

I can't think of any other good idea to earn regularly with bitcoin other than pool mining (you have to ask on the "Mining" board to calculate the estimated earnings). You should at least get involved with centralized service businesses like savings and staking, and it's worth noting that's very risky. $8k is too much I can afford to lose.
Yeah, probably what he is trying to look for, pooling is the best way to get a passive earnings but be careful what pool you are getting into coz a lot of it is a ponzi. OP can also try staking using reputable exchanges like Binance which might be the best he could use his $8K and earn on a daily basis. You can also try to advent an external business, a physical one then invest your ever profit to crypto, I think that's a win-win for you.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: at which point of a boxing match you consider cashingout? on: November 06, 2023, 07:03:40 PM
Hmmm this is an interesting question to ask. If I ever bet on an underdog and he knocked down his opponent in the first round, I'd probably risk it til the final bell rings coz if he dropped his opponent in the first round then he could do it in the following rounds. But one thing to consider is how did he knock his opponent, like a lucky punch, sucker punch but counted, accidental headbutt or just a counted slip then I'd probably think about cashing out after this. However, with Fury vs Ngannou fight I'm hundred percent on Ngannou on this, won't even think of cashing out if got dropped.
338  Local / Pilipinas / Re: bakit dapat mong maintindihan at wag matakot sa dip on: November 06, 2023, 06:20:52 PM

339  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Futures Trading - $10 per day on: November 06, 2023, 05:51:12 PM
I've been thinking about this lately kasi mukang possible talaga to and since nag tatrade ako sa futures naexperience ko na rin na magkaron ng target each day. The thing is kung hindi magiging constant yung earning, or pag minalas malas ka ng ilang araw maging negative pa yung earnings mo. Most probably parang magiging sugal to, especially with short time framed candles, kasi dun talaga to madalas nakukuha with high leverage. Mas risky nga lang to kasi medyo tight ang liquidation mo and a sudden pump or dump can cost you your margin. Advisable to isolate than cross trade din kung gusto mo itry.
340  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex suffered minor phishing attack on: November 06, 2023, 01:01:25 PM
I wonder why anyone would trade on Bitfinex still...
Probably non-affected users will still continue to use the platform, until they get affected by the attacks which is quite inevitable for an exchange that has a history of such event.

It's one of the exchanges with the worst reputation and historically have wronged so many people. At this point it wouldn't be too unlikely that it's just a frond for Tether and their unauthorized printing of fake USDT for money laundering.
Been reading some articles about this exchange, and news and it happened several times. I wonder how they are still getting new users of the platform, wouldn't this news should be enough to wake up their clients?
Let's see how they are going to manage this phishing attacks, and how would they compensate the affected users. I hope they would do a full-compensation plus some promo for disruption and inconvenience.
