321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell my airdropped tokens quickly or hold on to them? on: February 04, 2018, 06:44:36 AM
I mostly hold my airdrop coins / tokens , most of the time it's not even worth the time selling directly after the airdrop distribution is over.
It also depends if the announcement looks professional or not that decides if i directly sell the airdrop.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this the end for bitcoins ? on: February 04, 2018, 06:40:55 AM
Bitcoin's price may plummet down but it does not mean that it is already the end of bitcoin. Looking at the past, bitcoin's graph shows that it incurs ups and downs. Well, no matter how deep this plunge may go, all i can do is just hold my bitcoin no matter what happens.
Well you could also sell them and reenter at a lower price if you believe that the price will drop even more
or short trade bitcoin (More Bitcoin = Better)
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO for February 2018 on: February 03, 2018, 12:18:58 AM
i'm pretty excited about the arcblock ico, i don't personally believe that it is a scam. The Hype is immense and it should trade at least above the ico price once the tokens are distributed and listed!
But it's too late join anyway , whitelisting is closed and you would have to buy whitelisted accounts ( i don't really advise to buying whitelisted accounts as it's violation of the terms on most icos)
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hawala.Today | IFS | P2P CASH-CRYPTO | BOUNTIES | NOW TRADING ON KUCOIN!! on: February 03, 2018, 12:10:49 AM
I'm really excited about the kucoin add, once the whole bitcoin shitstorm clears up ( i still believe that it will)
we should see some nice upwards movement  Smiley

i haven't been following this coin for quite some time and i'm asking myself, what happened to the Limx Dev Account the trust rating says that it's hacked
did he regain access again does he have a new account and when did this happen?
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop or Fork asking Private keys on: February 01, 2018, 02:14:57 AM
I'm just wondering if it is safe those who are giving free coins asking for private keys, and saying that it is safe they don't store it?
The usual sample is asking you your ETH balance, then a certain coins balance, and it will generate how much coins you will get based on your ETH and a specified coin balances. Then they will ask for your Private keys.

I just passed by all this coz I don't want to compromise my wallet for few tokens.
Don't ever give out your private keys, i don't really know if you're talking about these scam emails / Slack / telegram messages that have been going around
or just general. You will need to use your private key(s) though to claim forks and even with legit projects you should always empty your wallet before you enter your private key into
the (official) wallet software. For example Bitcore (btx) a BTC fork explicitly tells it's users to empty their wallets before putting in the private key as a simple security measure
328  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: February 01, 2018, 01:58:03 AM
I think that most people only pay taxes to avoid fines and jailtime, basically because it's illegal to not pay your taxes.
The only two sure things in life are death and taxes  Wink

I've also found this scientific look at the question of why people pay taxes

"Why do people pay taxes when they have an opportunity, even an incentive, to evade? The experimental results in this paper suggest that tax compliance occurs because some individuals overweight the low probability of audit, although such overweighting is not universal. The results also indicate that compliance does not occur simply because individuals believe that evasion is wrong, since subject behavior is unchanged by the use of either neutral or loaded terms. Finally, there is evidence that individuals pay taxes because they value the public goods that their taxes finance. In short, individuals exhibit much diversity in their behavior."

http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/web/bitcoin-iota-und-co-diese-betrugsmaschen-gibt-es-a-1190296.html
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ABT] ArcBlock - BORN FOR BLOCKCHAIN 3.0 on: February 01, 2018, 01:24:37 AM
You could complain about close source, but let's look at it from a different perspective.

Many Wall Streeters are laughing about open source ICOs. If your business and product is open source software, what value does your project have, they wonder? Anyone can clone it and take your user base.

With that reasoning open source is especially a big risk for ArcBlock because as far as I know there are few programmers on the team. Anyone with a lot of money could copy the idea and code, and put a rockstar coding team on it, for example Facebook.

That's one argument for closed source, protecting intellectual property. Of course it could also be an excuse for not having a lot to show. Being open source hasn't hurt Ethereum really, there is Ethereum Classic but it doesn't have the same level of programmers as the original.
I agree with you if this coin really does deliver what it promises to do (blockchain 3.0) it's worth the risk to not having it open source imho.
But i also know that trust isn't earned easily in the crypto community so i am kind of torn.
The positive  (no copy paste coins stealing their maybe world changing idea) outweighs the imho (small) risk of malicious intent.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RailBlocks XRP similar projects ? Any idea? on: February 01, 2018, 01:09:47 AM
The only Coins that i know of that are "somehow" similiar to XRB(NANO)
are IOTA and Radixdlt (does that project still exist?).
Maybe it's not too late to invest in Raiblocks , there still could be some gains to make.
Check the Altcoins Announcement Section too, to hopefully find the hidden gem coin you're looking for.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICO or buy later on exchange ? on: January 30, 2018, 01:23:10 AM
How often does the price get lower than the ICO price when a new coin is listed on its first exchange house ?

How come there are coins that are worth like 0.0004 $, usually during an ICO one coin is sold in the range of 1$ or not ?

Do some "coins" skip the ICO stage ?

You always need to do your research before the ICO happens ( foundation of the token , background infos, et cetera) some ICOs end up dumping to a below ICO price after getting listed on an exchange.
But most of the times with solid projects and having the opportunity to buy in during the pre-sale you should take it. With buying during the pre-sale the chances of taking a loss are pretty slim if the project you invest in isn't an outright scam. So my Opinion definitely is buying during the ICO it's worth the risk to me.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which cryptocurrency is best to buy today? on: January 30, 2018, 01:16:34 AM
I think it will be a big year for Stratis and Neo ( the better ethereum  Wink )
With Stratis ICOs having been announced a few weeks ago the price should double once they actually happen.
Also i believe that every kind of Privacy Coin will have a good year,
it's just a gut feeling i have. With all these new Cryptocurrency Laws and blockchain tracking getting better and better
people will be looking for a "safe haven" to keep their holdings private imho.
334  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do you spend your money from Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2018, 01:07:06 AM
I spend some small amounts of my bitcoin gains on giftcards (for example Amazon) to buy stuff with (my advice is to only buy at trusted sellers there are a lot of bad sheeps on the internet).
335  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the biggest changes in your life caused by Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2018, 01:01:49 AM
I stare at a computer screen for hours on end.
(so basically nothing changed  Cheesy )
But the biggest change probably is how my views of the current monetary system have changed for the worse.
