Most hacks seem to be from malware, so simple answer is have a dedicated clean wallet PC or VM that you don't install anything else on, password it up and set the firewall to just allow the ports the wallets need, e.g. port 39401 for CANN. And always encrypt the wallets of course (and when new coins come out don't install the wallets on the PC until you know the dev is ok).
Never use a VM for qt wallet on your main computer, if your main computer is infected so the hacker can gain the access to VM and steal your wallet. Use your qt wallet on your main computer, and all the rest on your VM. |
