321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End Goal or Keep HODLing? on: May 25, 2024, 04:12:54 PM
Bitcoin has finite supply meaning that it's supply will not last forever, so why hodl it infinity? Except that a holder is so rich reach that he doesn't see any need for him to take profit, then it's a good thing, otherwise for other investors who are on the long hodl, it's good for them to take profit sometimes. The only thing to consider is what time is the best season to collect profits, I believe it's buy in dip and sale in price surge, that is buy in bear run and sale in bull run. The beauty of Bitcoin investment for me is that the longer you hodl it, the more profitable if becomes for you in every bull run.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? on: May 25, 2024, 03:42:32 PM
Ethereum is in second place because, just like Bitcoin, it has solved a problem that the market has been looking for a long time. Bitcoin revolutionized with the Nakamoto consensus, Ethereum revolutionized with smart contracts. Many developers are working on the Ethereum network. Many ambitious and high quality new projects are choosing Ethereum. Reasons like these make Ethereum the king of altoins.
My view and opinion about Ethereum is that it has positioned itself to be bullish in the bull run, it's the most top altcoin, second only to Bitcoin, therefore there's so much expectations about it in this season. Even though many people where speculating that it's ETF approval by SEC will not be feasible anytime soon, but it has put all the speculations to rest as it has been approved. I think that just like Bitcoin price that skyrocketed after it's ETF approval, Ethereum price will even surge more, giving it's investors value for their investments.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 25, 2024, 02:03:29 PM
It just get to know that some shops now accept BTC as exchange, that is very good Bitcoin is making progress, after some years now Bitcoin will shock the world, with the way things are going now.
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that some businesses are accepting Bitcoin as payment, afterall it's a digital cash, and one of the factors that makes the adoption of Bitcoin to be accepted in transactions is because it's common to make fiat digital transfers. People are now used to online transfers which makes it easier for them to diversify to using Bitcoin digital cash. Although many businesses are yet to adopt Bitcoin as a means of accepting payments, they still prefer fiat which has been there for centuries, but I'm positive that in the nearest future that Bitcoin will become a dominant force as a transaction option.
324  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 25, 2024, 12:01:43 PM

Based on this Ninety percent of people in every sector of life has higher chances of looting only that most people are not privileged to get the opportunity to carryout what's in their minds
Money addiction is very real and what you said is not far from the truth, people will do almost anything to increase their money, because human needs are insatiable, the more money you get the more your standard of living will increase. It's easy to say that I will never loot, when you've not been exposed to too much money, that if you pilfer some nobody will know, this is why there is so much corruption in high places, reason why many people wants to go into politics, because they can embezzle public funds and hide every evidence that can implicate them.
Although there are still few incorruptible individuals that their integrity will not allow them to steal.
325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Things you see in the society on: May 25, 2024, 11:31:27 AM
What we do and how live is a matter of choice, people can be born into a perticular religion or upbringing, then they grow older to make decisions for themselves, then they'll choose whether they're comfortable about how they were brought up or change to what they choose. Although there are times when governments in power can limit the choices that we make, example is when you want to adopt Bitcoin, but it's banned in your country, another example is same sex marriage which is banned in my country, where LGBT rights are not recognized. However if someone cannot be free to practice their religion or lifestyle, then it's better that they move, to where they're accepted.
326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People are interesting talking more about their success stories. on: May 25, 2024, 10:39:38 AM
I see more of success stories of bitcoin, like how people invest bitcoin for their parents,  uncles,  and themselves to make fine profit. These stories are very interesting one and good to listen of what bitcoin has done for people but it makes me wonder if people don't have stories of failure about bitcoin. In the real life I see people who talk about their failed investment because of not having the right knowledge.  But here everyone talks about success stories and it makes me wonder if people are shy to talk about their failures, it can also help other people to learn. Learning is not just about from successful investment.
People have failures in their investments as much as they have success stories, only that they feel more comfortable sharing success stories, while it takes guts to share failed stories. Ofcourse I've heard a lot of failed testimonies on this platform, about how they lost their seed phrase due to negligence and how they got scammed, but we can't deny that success stories are far more. I think sharing experiences are very important in the forum, either success or failure, so that others can learn from them, a little experience shared can go a long way to guide other's decisions.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future Investment with Dogelon Mars (ELON) on: May 25, 2024, 10:11:13 AM
Dogelon Mars is one of the top 10 meme in the crypto world. It was launched in 2021 and its development team described it as a fair universal currency. Actually being a meme coin means that there is no real utility behind it. A speculative value at the moment, but not necessarily bad. Many investors have built their million dollar fortunes in a short span of time. It can give high profit with high risk. With a market cap around of $77 million and over 440K followers on X, it has higher future potential than other meme peers even with its rising price and utility.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Memecoins have their reputations as pump and dump projects, so choosing one to invest in is quite risky, but if you're able to invest in a genuine one rather than scam, then you're in for profits on your investment. Cryptos are volatile and we wouldn't know if Dogelon mars, will can reach mars in this bull run, and as for the speculations whether Elon Musk, is involved in the project is a secondary matter, what matters is it's performance in the crypto market.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe Bitcoin will surge to new heights after this dip on: May 24, 2024, 06:18:08 PM
Not only you, almost everyone believe we will see a bull season after few months dips, just take a look with the past histories.

The analyst said that Bitcoin is currently trading in a tight range and could rise to around $70,000 to $72,000 if it breaks through the $63,000 level.
I mean, 10% rise is small if we talk about Bitcoin, there's nothing surprise if Bitcoin will reach $72K, that's just a normal thing.

All eyes are now on the key data released by the United States next week that will determine the fate of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market.
No, the fate of Bitcoin didn't controlled by United States, there's no correlation at all. Even United States completely ban Bitcoin, there are still hundred countries accepting Bitcoin.
I believe that this dip will soon give way to a price surge that will usher us into the bull run proper, Bitcoin price as of now is over $68k, and I believe that it's only a matter of time and we'll see it's price to reach and pass the last ATH. My speculation is that we will see a $100k price this year, then in the peak we'll see over $150k ATH.

It is true that Bitcoin has gone beyond the control of the US, their input in cryptocurrency can not be denied, but as of today, Bitcoin adoption has increased that many people from other countries are now keying into it massively.
329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Thanks To All forum members on: May 24, 2024, 05:45:34 PM
I want to say thanks to you for deeming it necessary to start a topic to appreciate forum members who are tirelessly willing to teach and direct newbies whom they've never met before, to learn and understand the crypto space. I'm a beneficiary of this privilege too, when I joined the forum as a newbie, I didn't have any crypto knowledge, it was from here that I started to ask questions and answers where being given by experienced members. The important task for us that have gained so much from this forum is not to relent in giving back, by also impacting newbies, with the best of our cryptocurrency knowledge.

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will It Be Jubilation or Devastation? Ethereum ETF Call Imminent on: May 24, 2024, 04:13:51 PM
If the Ethereum ETF gets approved, I think it would legitimize crypto, attract more institutional and retail investors, and likely drive up Ethereum's price. It would show regulators are warming up to crypto, which could lead to clearer rules. On the flip side, if it gets rejected, it could create more uncertainty, push investors away, and hurt prices. It would mean regulators still have significant concerns, making the market more volatile and cautious.
According to the information that I have on hand, the Ethereum ETF has been approved, and I'm happy about it, this will undoubtedly increase people's trust in cryptocurrency as a whole. It will increase for Ethereum, institutional and retail investors, as it's been experienced in Bitcoin. I wasn't surprised when I heard the news about eth approval, even though many people were speculating that it won't happen so soon, I knew all along that Bitcoin ETF approval will pave the way for other reputable cryptocurrencies to be approved. So let's watch and see how the approval impacts on the crypto space as a whole, especially Ethereum price in the coming bull run
332  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: May 24, 2024, 03:17:37 PM

Do you think credit/debit cards will still be a thing after the launch of CBDCs? If not, why? Will payment processors like PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard survive? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
I think that inasmuch as there's still physical cash in circulation, that debit cards will still be relevant, unless when there's no more needs to carry physical cash around, only then will we see a total digital transactions. CBCD is a new innovation that will eventually eliminate physical cash, and I believe that debit card operators like Mastercard and visa will become innovative too to make their services relevant when there's no more cash to withdraw from the ATMs. We're already living in cashless societies, with mobile banking, so the addition of cbdc will not be strange to costumers.
333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Make a difference in your society. on: May 24, 2024, 02:09:38 PM

If you have the opportunity to be a leader in you society, will you make the difference to end negative things from your society or you will allow the negatives things continue in the society? To me, If I have the power or influence, I will make a difference in my society to  end negative things like corruption, insecurity and other things that are bad to society.
It's mainly being in the leadership positions of a society or a country that someone can truly make changes that can touch many lives, because their decisions will affect majority of people within that space whether positively or negatively. It's true that we should be the change that we want to see, and it starts with us as individuals, but the impact of the positive change can not touch the whole country, only the people around you, so it falls on our political leaders to rule with integrity and be incorruptible.

What I have observed is that people will enter leadership positions with the intention to achieve good governance, but by the time they mix with the corrupt politicians, before long they will become corrupt too, but I still believe that we have incorruptible politicians, although they will face a lot of battles from the corrupt ones, before they can succeed.
334  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China deploys army around Taiwan on: May 24, 2024, 08:37:12 AM
I wonder if either China or the US would even be interested in Taiwan if there was no semicionductor industry? They would probably just hold hands and go there on vacation together instead of all this idiocy.

Actually, it is not only about the semiconductor industry established there in Taiwan. There is much more going on than what meets the eye when comes to a potential takeover of Taiwan by the Chinese Communist party.
I have a friend from China and Taiwan and he has examples to me that the dispute between both countries comes mostly because within the Chinese folklore and tradition, the ruler of China is supposed to have the power over all the "unified empire" for him to be proclaimed to be the one having the favor of heaven. So Taiwan could be just an insignificant islands with no industries and yet, China would try to claim it for herself because the millennial tradition which goes on to this day about the great unifier who is supposed to bring all the claimed territories of Chine together. Xi wants to leave a legacy behing of him, being that historical figure in the nooks of Chinese history.

That is also the reason why he keeps territorial disputes with India, over desolated land near the Himalayas.
You've really given a new meaning to this China, obsession to conquer and Lord over the sovereign territories around it's borders, meaning that they want to fulfill their mythical desires. This is just so baseless in this modern age, China, is already a country that has it all, landmarks, population and technology, a country that is very powerful and no nation can mess with, with their achievements it's totally unnecessary to bother about Taiwan, or any other countries or territories around them. The army and warships that are deployed around Taiwan, are mere drills to show their millitery mights, nothing more, as far as I'm concerned. Taiwan has a president and that makes it a sovereign nation, whether they're weak or strong.
335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My model of an ideal investment portfolio on: May 24, 2024, 07:50:04 AM
Your proposed investment portfolio sounds very interesting and feasible, and I believe that whatever a person sets his mind to do, with the right motivation and resources, can become a reality. They say talk is cheap without action, and in this case, the action is money, I wonder if your four years plan can achieve everything that you have listed, especially the kids academy and the real estate, except ofcourse your DCA is in very large amount of money, because the measure of money you put in Bitcoin will determine how massive your ROI to fund your projects.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think projects on LayerZero will benefit once they launch? on: May 24, 2024, 06:42:00 AM
We won't know for sure if projects built on Layerzero will cook or not until when layerzero launches. The ZRO launch has to be strong as it would be used as a benchmark for other projects launching with the omni chain narrative so you could already see how Layerzero launch would be either a make or break moment for their ecosystem projects. I only just got to know about Holograph so there's very little I have to say about until the official launch goes off tomorrow.
The Layerzero launch will be a plus for the crypto space, so that investors can have more choices when they want to choose a platform, but like you've said, they have to kickstart and we will observe their performance for sometime before we can place them. As for the Holograph, token, it's relatively new and most people have not heard about it, and in cryptocurrency, nobody can be certain about a project that will perform very well in the crypto market, it can be the next big thing or end up a shitcoin, but investors can research it and invest the amount that they can afford to loose.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Friendship on: May 23, 2024, 03:24:32 PM
I'm glad that your friend realized the importance of Bitcoin, and came back to apologies to you, it's a good story that ended well, just like in the movies, although you could have edited some parts of the information. Crypto is not banned in my country, but I'm very careful about how I talk to people about it, even my friends, because of the unpleasant experiences that I've had telling people about it in the past when I first adopted it. Now I have to perceive first that a person genuinely want to invest in cryptocurrency before I introduce Bitcoin to the person, to avoid enemity.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin supply shock will come, price will make new ATH on: May 23, 2024, 12:38:46 PM
I can't agree less with your speculations, every events in the Bitcoin space are indicators that we're going to experience a massive bull run and a new ATH price in it's peak. The Bitcoin ETF and halving this year had prepared us for a supply shock, like you phrased it, so it's not late to start or continue accumulating because harvest season will mature in bull run ATH.
339  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is bitcoin still stronger than stocks? on: May 23, 2024, 11:58:58 AM
Everybody has he's or her own. the main issue of cryptocurrenqcies these days can be either stable for a long period of time, or they can stay highly volatile for a long period of time. Nowadays, cryptos are more stable than stocks, but I don't think it will be a very long-lasting trend, because all traders are familiar with cryptos. this comparison can be determined only by a thorough technical analysis or a fundamental one if we talk about long-term intentions.
Cryptocurrency de volatile, dat one mean say e no fit to de stable for a very long time, na only stablecoins wey de paired to stable fiat currencies like the US dollar, de stable. If you de compere stock and cryptocurrency, make you remember say stock market don de exist for decades, while cryptocurrency never tell like dat, meaning say stock don build trust and reputation before crypto trading start, but if we give crypto trading, a little more time, e go dust stock trading, dat one na sure.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: May 23, 2024, 10:50:24 AM
Central banks will stay even if the fiat is facing hyper inflation and they will start collapse only if the government itself started collapsing.

The chances of all Central banks will cease to exist is close to zero but hypothetically Bitcoin can be one of the preferred payment options if that happens.
It's not easy for the central banks system to collapse, because we don't have one single central bank that controls or oversees every central banks in the world, if one central bank collapses, others will still be functional. Theoretically or hypothetically, if that happens, then Bitcoin will be in a good position to take over as a global digital cash, because it doesn't have any central authority or barriers. As it is now I don't think that Bitcoin needs to be the only currency in the world to maintain it's relevance, it can function alongside fiat currencies, as an alternative currency
