321  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What were you told about the slave trade. on: May 06, 2024, 03:15:59 PM
The slave trade definitely brought economic gains to the wicked Africans that were selling their brothers and sisters to the slave marchants, who also gained by selling their marchandise (the slaves) to the rich people that needed them to work in their plantations and every other dehumanizing works. So slave trade brought economic prosperity to the people and countries were these slaves were taken to go and worked as human machines, and I believe that one of the reasons why slave trade stopped was because of the era of industrial revolution, then racial segregation era began, and  spilled into racisms still exists till today.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I Got 1 Million $SHIB airdroped in a trading competition! What Should I do? on: May 06, 2024, 02:24:12 PM
It sounds good that most of the time you make investment in Bitcoin which is a prudent decision in view of leading its leading role in cryptocurrencies market with it distinguished features. As far Shiba Inu, whether to hold it or sell them in bullish market is ultimately your choice depending on your fincnail circumstances and risk tolerance level,  however if were in your shoes, I would consider converting most of them into Bitcoin.

After I decided to keep those tokens on my local exchange, I discovered that my country's tax law requires me to pay a 30 percent tax on any capital gains and a 1 percent TDS (Tax Deduction at Source). This means that if I sell those coins, I will end up paying more in taxes than I would make from the airdrop. Therefore, I have decided to hold onto my Shiba Inu tokens until they have a USD value that is high enough to cover the taxable amount. In short, I am not going to do anything with these coins until I believe they are profitable for me after taxes.
You've pretty much summed up what you should do now, considering the tax law in your country, because it won't make financial sense to sale at a lose. As it is, it's best to hold on to your Shiba Inu, till it's value reaches what can be meaningful to sale and convert to fiat or reinvest in a reputable crypto like Bitcoin. Although I consider Shiba Inu, as a top altcoin that is worth holding, because it's not a scam project, people are however speculating that it's market cap, could make it not to be very bullish in this season. Your not left with much choice but to keep holding it, good luck.
323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: May 06, 2024, 12:18:16 PM
Day trading is actually trading crypto coins, while keeping for long term is investment, so the former is short term and the latter is long term, so the better one depends on the preference of every individual. Although more people hodl which is investment than trading, because it's less risky compared to trading, but it can be boring just waiting for a very long time, even years to get the perfect ROI, where you can make as much in trading on a very short time, or lose everything. Trading is very technical and requires learning skills but investment doesn't need much skills to start, but it's important to hodl  reputable coins like Bitcoin.
324  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Violence is an essential quality of human life in building a developed society on: May 06, 2024, 10:26:03 AM
I'll have to agree with the last two comments that the OP is contradicting himself in the content of his topic, he's advocating violence as a means to achieving lasting peace, at the same time saying that parents and religion are against violence, which should not be encouraged, he should have focused on one argument.

I think that what the OP is trying to say is that violence is not the best option to achieve peace in any conflict, but there are some situations when there'll be no choice but to go to the extreme means of being violent to press for a demand, when dialogue has failed. As human beings we have different temperaments so we see one thing from different perspectives, therefore people have tendencies to want to press hard for their own demands, and if not handled well, might lead to violence.

Violence becomes inevitable sometimes, that is why we have conflicts and wars, so it's important to find a way in the midst of the violence to seek dialogue and resolve the situation amicably for lasting peace to reign.
325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies should be forewarned. on: May 06, 2024, 09:15:19 AM
There is only way to avoid this, just create a new meta mask wallet, probably it will take couple of minutes either in PC or even in your smartphone then use it for the airdrop campaigns, and repeat the process for every new campaign, kind of complicated to manage though but if you really worried about your wallet getting drained by the fraudsters then I don't think there is any better alternative apart from not joining in such campaigns.
This is the best thing to do, just create a new wallet and connect to the airdrop website, so if they're scammers, they'll be scamming an empty wallet. Many newbies have become victims to this fraudsters, because of their ignorance of proper crypto knowledge on how to protect themselves from scams, they'll connect their main wallets and all their coins will be drained. For experienced people, let's not be lazy to open a new wallet for airdrop purposes, it only takes a few minutes, better to be on the safe side then to be sorry.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens on: May 06, 2024, 06:46:08 AM
Bitcoin has made the word "coin" to be popular among every altcoin, so they're all refered to as crypto coins out there, it's only people that are experienced investors and traders that really knows the difference. Before coming into the crypto space, most of us referred to every crypto as coins, because Bitcoin is a coin, but whether it's a coin or token that a person is holding, I think that what matters is for it to be profitable for the person. As far as the name memecoins goes to describe all memes, I think that it's just a name, the buyer knows whether it's a coin or token that they're buying.
327  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Would you still use Patricia after recent events? on: May 05, 2024, 05:59:17 PM
Conversion of people funds inside Patricia,t to Patricia token, na di biggest exit scam be dat, so you're on your own with dem dem token, if di token become worthless, dat na di investors problem. For my money matter, I no de reason patriotism, I de go for track record, any exchange wey don gain reputation for di crypto space, because if my money caste, our government no go refund me. Anybody wey de for dis forum wey de leave dem coins for exchanges, na sorry be dem name., not your keys not your coins, make everybody no forget dis advice.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? on: May 05, 2024, 05:25:59 PM
Any investors that's on DCA method will not worry about halving and what to speculate about Bitcoin price, your aim should be continuous accumulation as much as you can until the peak of bull run when we'll see a new ATH. Personally I'll like to take some profit from my efforts from my ROI before bear run dip starts to kick in, that's my strategy for this bull season. Although we've seen price dip after the halving, but it's looking like we might start seeing an upward price movement from here.
329  Economy / Economics / Re: Ever dreamt of turning your passion into profit? on: May 05, 2024, 01:18:57 PM
I tried turning my passion into being profitable for me but it didn't work out, I guess that the industry of my passion is too competitive and I don't have what it takes financially at the time. I love to sing and at a point in my life I thought that if I didn't sing that I wasn't going to do anything else, I tried but couldn't make it to limelight, now I just sing to relax, that zeal to take it up as a career has diminished, maybe one day I'll get over the disappointment and give it a try again. Now I'm focused on my business and cryptocurrency.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going to happen with Bitcoin now? on: May 05, 2024, 12:16:18 PM
if you look at history, the price of bitcoin usually corrects after the halving and usually increases a few months later. just be patient to wait for this because the bull market will happen, because no one knows for sure when it will happen, so what you need is just to be patient until it happens.
A lot of investors have come into the crypto space and buying up Bitcoin, in the hope that after the halving, that bull run will start immediately and they'll begin to collect ROI, but in reality this is not so, bull run actually takes some months after halving. Although price took a dip that was quite lower than expected, but I think that these pump and dump on the short term is normal before bull run actually kicks in. The dip that we experienced was an opportunity for investors to stock their bags, because I'm speculating that soon price will begin a steady climb to bull run.
331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What ways can a trader raise money? on: May 05, 2024, 10:50:03 AM
It's not possible for someone who doesn't have a source of income or who didn't store money somewhere to be able to trade crypto, because it's not like a job that you do and you expect to get paid, it's risky business you can lose all your trading funds or you can make profits. The good thing is that a newbie without money don't have to start practical trading immediately, they can begin with demo trading, while they figure out how to raise money to start. There are different ways to raise money to start, but the best way is to get a job or another skill that'll guarantee steady income, then use some percentage of it that they can afford to loose, for trading.
332  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much disasterous threats in relationship and partnerships. on: May 05, 2024, 08:10:10 AM
The cases of domestic violence is on the increase now, I've been hearing cases where a spouse will pour raw acid or very hot water on their partners, this is done mostly by women, because they're perhaps more emotional than men. People in relationships should try and be faithful to their partners, be respectful and have tolerance, inorder to avoid these unpleasant circumstances that will cause a lot of harm and even deaths. Marriage is a beautiful thing, and we can't avoid it because some people's own don't work out, remember that we have a lot of marriages that are working, so yours can work too.
333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: After Joining as a beginner what keeps you going on this forum? on: May 05, 2024, 06:55:22 AM
I believe that every member that didn't have crypto knowledge before joining this forum, felt out of place in the first few months, the biggest challenge that I had was that there is too many terminologies in Bitcoin and the crypto space in general. If a newbie is focused on genuinely learning with the aim of gaining crypto knowledge in the forum, then it'll be easier to cope in the forum.

One of the reasons why newbies gets frustrated in the forum is because most of them heard that members earn in the forum, and it's getting merit that'll rank them up to be eligible to be in signature campaigns to also earn. They join and despite their posts that they think is quality, merits don't start to pump as expected, they'll want to give up, my advice to them is to focus on learning in the forum to increase their knowledge for free, merit will come eventually.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What did you really think about the future of solana in the next 2years? on: May 05, 2024, 06:01:55 AM
Solana, is a top altcoin, and it has proven it's reputation in the crypto market, sometime last year, there were speculations whether it was going to be dead, but it came back stronger and with everything happening around it, it's very likely that it has come to stay. It has a strong support with many projects that is in it's network, and I'm sure that it's going to bull in this season.  Although it's only Bitcoin that I can confidently say that it can outlive most of us that are alive today, however altcoins like Ethereum, BNB and Solana, can be trusted to last in the crypto market.
335  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Make you no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet during bear run. on: May 04, 2024, 07:40:24 PM
but e show me say e get di kind amount of Satoshi, wey you go leave for your wallet, if price continue to dip or for bear run, one day everything go just disappear.

Yes there will be decrease in value but your 100 SATs technically will never disappear from your wallet unless you sell it below the price which you bought it. No matter how dip the market is your 100 SATs will remain 100 SATs. That's how powerful Bitcoin is.

Thanks for your direction, nobody know am finish and we de learn everyday, so we no fit to see 0 sat for wallet? Based on wetin you talk, dat means during price dip, di value of 100 sats fit no worth anything unless price begin to de pump again, e go just de there pending.
336  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Make you no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet during bear run. on: May 04, 2024, 06:39:12 PM
Every experienced investors wey get Bitcoin, know say e de better to hodl am for long term, because na store of value im be. Di longer wey you hold am di more value wey im de add for you and during every bull run, di price go reach new ATH wey go de increase your ROI.

I get one small experience wey I wan share and e de against that believe say we suppose to hodl our Bitcoin for long term. E get Bitcoin wey I move from one wallet and I just leave small Satoshi, wey worth like $7 more or less, I no really remember di particular amount, and na wen Bitcoin de around $72k, but di point now be say na around $3 worth remain for dat wallet. Aldo I know say we no suppose hodl dat kind small amount of Satoshi, but e show me say e get di kind amount of Satoshi, wey you go leave for your wallet, if price continue to dip or for bear run, one day everything go just disappear.

I still advocate for long term hodll for Bitcoin, but make we no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet, e de important to top am, unless we de sure say we de inside bull run proper, make you no wake up one day and see say di small Satoshi don disappear. Dat na my small experience, how una see am?
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Altcoins under $0.1 to Buy in May on: May 04, 2024, 04:44:24 PM
Anyone who actually takes this industry seriously knows that valuing literally any asset(crypto or not) should be based on marketcap/FDV, not token price. It's either the writer is totally market/finance illiterate, or they're catering to those who are market/finance illiterate.
I can't agree less with you, as much as the link tried to outline the potentials of the projects that he listed, using their prices as bases for them being bullish can be misleading, because it could be tokens that are pretty much dead. Instead investors should look at the marketcap of any token in question before investing their hard earned money, not necessarily the price.

I guess that he needs to go back to his drawing board and give us more indepth analysis, that'll look more convincing. And he shouldn't take all the criticism personal, it's just that we have too many experienced and knowledgeable forum members.
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN AT 63K. What should we expect moving forward? on: May 04, 2024, 01:02:15 PM
Woke up to see BTC at 63k this cold Saturday morning, although I'm excited but I'm kinda skeptical and have questions. Is the retracment over? Will price create another ATH from here or is this a dead cat bounce? Let's share opinions below.

Actually, I knew the of Bitcoin price was not going to turn green immediately after the halving but I never knew it would take such a deep. So If anyone tells you that the retracement is over and we are heading to a new ATH, such a person is not being truthful, no one knows what's going to happen in the coming days. If the price retraces again you shouldn't panic, we are already in the post halving and the market will soon go bullish.
Most Bitcoin price observers were speculating a price dip after the halving, but they never expected this much dip, especially since Bitcoin started being bullish after the ETF approval, now we're seeing a new price of over $63k today, perhaps it's a sign that price has started to rally upwards or it could just slightly dump again. I just choose not to worry or panic about this temporary pump and dump, because I know that we're definitely going to enter bull run from now to a couple of months time, so I'll just use this opportunity to accumulate more, before the inevitable ATH that we don't know when it'll happen.
339  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: May 04, 2024, 11:08:56 AM
I don't think that it's necessary to get an MBA first before starting a business, if someone is oppotuned to get an MBA first, then it's a plus, but when a person who has practical experience of a business and has the capital to start it, shouldn't wait for an MBA before starting. Starting a business doesn't stop the person from furthering their education to MBA level, i know that there are part-time programs in the universities, where business people and workers who wants to upgrade their CV can study and graduate.

In Nigeria, there's a tribe called Igbo, they're renowned for business successes, they're naturally gifted in businesses, they have a lot of millionaires and billionaires, but ironically most of them are not very well educated, yet they employ graduates, including MBA holders and pay them salaries. It's not every body that is privileged or has the means to get a good education, yet they're doing very well in their businesses, I think that some people are naturally gifted for business, whether they're holding an MBA or not.
340  Other / Serious discussion / Re: HACKING OF GOVERNMENT WEBSITES on: May 04, 2024, 09:58:36 AM
what do you think about government sites that are easy to attack? shouldn't government sites have adequate security?

This is strong question, naturally anything government is meant to be the most secured and first in all but the issue is that the government is not sincere to itself, as most hacking is done by the so called government to covered up there mess , in reference to my nation I have seen situation government uses diverse means to cover up there mess to avoid escalating to the public like burning of public office where vital documents to be revail on their mess is, demolition of property in relation to where crime in which their official that can revail the mess it etc . Knowing fully well that nothing goes beyond the control of the government any hacked with government detecting and controlling has their hand indirectly.
Because of the massive corruption in governments, people don't totally trust them anytime that they come out to say that there's a hack in any of their ministries, because most often it's the government officials that initiates these hacks, that is why they won't invest maximally to fortify their systems against hacks. Normally government datas are supposed to be the most secured, to protect their assets and sensitive information. Government officials are the ones that knows sensitive information that can compromise their ministry's database, and in order to steal, they'll collaborate with hackers to do their dirty jobs.

In the past when we see or hear about a government sector building on fire, people's assertion will be that they've stolen money or sensitive materials and information for financial gains, and they've intentionally started the fire to hide every evidence. This goes to show the level of distrust that people have for our government, because of the obvious corruption in the system.
