321  Economy / Economics / Re: China reopening was a flop, if we're heading to deflation, what about Bitcoin? on: June 06, 2023, 05:02:05 PM
China is private land on the earth which does not exist and it was put their by aliens. Lolz.
They have sadly made lot of amendments while giving decisions regarding the use of Bitcoin. First china was doing full fledge mining and most of the ASICS were manufactured there only. They were on right path of Bitcoin Future / crypto as whole. They were having lot of employments in the mean time but they drifted, banned everything related to Bitcoin and rolled back the business into losses.

China should not be considered as serious continent when it comes to doing the business. They say Chinese items/promises can either last until the next block or may be until the moon, but you wouldn't be sure of it until you try.

In similar ways, the deflationary future isn't a solid promise. Nothing relies on one continent if we are talking about decentralized asset that is available throughout the world. With China anyway not in support of Bitcoin, there seems null effect on the Bitcoin and its future.
322  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium can't see ETH balance. on: June 06, 2023, 03:38:24 PM
This is old known issue and not sure where but on the forum itself I have read about this forum and the solution was very easy for this. The user had issue with the mycelium not working properly, the balances were not synched and more than that the mycelium stopped working somehow on the android wallet.

Initially there were many solution for them, like check if the mycelium is updated or not, check if the latest version is installed and phone has been restart for that matter. Some also suggested to uninstall the mycelium completely (make sure phrases and keys are written down first) and then try the app. Nothing worked.

The only issue was: The users "smart phone" was not updated with the latest android OS. This was really easy solution and no one ever thought this could create such problem/.

I am not sure if your problem is already resolved or not but you can try updating your phones OS to latest version. [ Not sure how this could affect but you can try... ]
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: June 06, 2023, 08:05:31 AM
The first failure to the bitcoin came when exchangers or more specifically centralized platforms were introduced as medium to transact the Bitcoin. We already know, Bitcoin was successful transferred from wallet to wallet without any efforts back in pizza days, but people failed to recognize the importance of the same.

Someone took the opportunity to turn this into a business and now we see hundreds and thousands of exchangers whether small to giant platforms disrupting millions to billions of dollars in revenue every year. That business model led the authorities towards extensive check on the enterprises running crypto exchanger business and here we are, saving ourselves from the failure of others.

Wish exchangers would not have evolved so far and we had only one P2P option to work with Bitcoin.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Self custody will always win on: June 05, 2023, 06:15:28 PM
Eh, thank God I’m not into fan following stuff and never will be. First, when it comes to finance management I would not even trust my mirror self. It is least of my worries whose CZ or whose Elon if I’m having my own funds and probably hard earned money as compared to what those people are making. It’s better to be very normal when we are socialising in this world. Fan following stuff is really old myth now and gone those days where a true follower used to get back as trust or closeness. You don’t find it these days. Better be ourselves and close some circles before they get breached and save something for ourselves.  Tongue
325  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: June 05, 2023, 04:50:19 PM
One effective approach could be to focus on providing better quality of products/services at competitive price.

How to increase the quality of products and services but still have to be cheap? Do you have a business? I have not seen any business that can do that, because to create good products, it is necessary to have quality raw materials and good people to develop high quality products. Does that mean it will cost more to manufacture, and how can it be sold cheaply? That clearly shows you are in the customer's position to make that request, not the boss's.

The only way to make your product cheaper is by lowering the margin of business. This option would take High end management because playing with the low margins could take up good amount of revenue thus making it difficult for the business runner. However, there are businesses which would do this but they would just keep the fixed revenue. This way business is always at stagnancy and never reached to new limits of profitability. But obviously it’s hard to manage that way.

The other way is what you stated, just have the low quality products and close the business soon.
326  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: June 04, 2023, 04:30:23 PM
Well this makes me think about all those claims which stated if you own the keys then you are owner and no one can have access to your wallets/funds within. I’m shocked to see this news about atomic wallet. How does everyone going to trust any other wallet too if wallet services that claim to be non custodial? This is definitely phishing attack, because let us say it was really a compromised wallet and hacked one then either the hacker has just found out the loop hole in the non custodial system or it could be the owner himself who has turned his business into some quick disruption of money. In anyways, user is the one that gets suffered. Hope everyone rest moves their funds as quickly as possible to other wallet.
327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: June 02, 2023, 06:04:11 PM
In a working theory nothing like that happens. Honestly, what happens is exactly the opposite of it where we end up losing more than what we could afford to lose or risk. This is called as FOMO stuff, or sometimes it is also associated with the emotional breakdown where we think we could get back the profits or investment that we lost. More specifically it would be investment which is going negative.

The risk management that can happen in the above case is simply to practice controlling our emotions while making any trades. I have seen my own trades getting broke due to very this thing. However, I never controlled them properly and mostly I ended up stopping myself from trading. That was my risk management step for the good.
328  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: June 02, 2023, 03:29:10 PM
~snip~
And, actually, with more 10k free rolls played now I'm waiting for that 10000 number to pop up any time soon. Smiley

I looked at my statistics and I am currently at over 16 500 free rolls, which means that I can hope for the jackpot, maybe even sooner than you Wink

Of course, everything is a matter of luck, it can happen today, and maybe only for the next 10 000 free rolls. However, lately I have had a little more luck and today I rolled 9990, which is not a bad win.

Yeah, 10k or 20k free rolls I am still waiting for my luck to knock the door and give me that 9999 OR 10000 free roll. I think I have published my few of the winnings and I was only able to roll the third best base prize. I am premium member so I am already getting optimum base prize whatsoever. But winning those $200 bucks has got nothing to do with the premium membership that I have learned so far. I wish it had some push factor so that I could be pushing more on premium stuff. Lolz.

Well, I am bringing up this point because that is only the thing which can add some luck to my free rolls. My current roll stands at 17K, I got good feeling that I am going to hit the 200 buck roll soon; if number of free rolls has got anything to do with it.  Tongue
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The effect of Bitcoin on children on: June 02, 2023, 12:48:39 PM
Ahh, that's lovely gesture from a father itself. Children are always mirror images of their parents so I am sure their parents are definitely talking about bitcoin and using it all the time in the house. How lucky they are and the children themselves. Hope so soon at the right age their parents will teach them how to use the bitcoin. If they start storing the bitcoins from very young age and already get the importance of saving them forever.

They will see the Bitcoin rising in valuation with the time as they grow old and they will definitely thank their parents for teaching them about bitcoin as they could be millionaires by late 20's or 30's.  Cool

What effect do you expect, it's just nice to know that their parents also teach them bitcoin from the beginning (I hope it's done the right way). It's just difficult to give children financial literacy at a certain age level. My conclusion from your story (if it's real), children only visualize what they're used to seeing at every opportunity, especially if their parents have activities related to bitcoin.
There is nothing special about your story.

It could be special. Dont forget, children are fast grasper, if right stuff is put into their minds then it I am pretty sure it could turn out to be big day for them.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: June 01, 2023, 06:24:39 PM
Well every nation is developing their economy with their own powers, plans and management that execute it. It’s not a simple job either considering you have to move entire national wealth in positive side of Break even point. I some cases having global power is enough to drive them in positive side. Take an example of USA. They are in billions to trillion in debts since few years now and yet the nations GDP is one of the highest around the world. Why so? Because they are mega power and the money that is invested in them always over balances the debts on live scale, virtually.

However, there are still many nations who has managed to grow to new levels with worst challenges you could ever imagine.
331  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin quote simulator. on: June 01, 2023, 04:43:42 PM
if I decide to make it freely available, I'm still unsure whether I will make it open source or use a server.
If you're planning to monetize it then you'll probably need to host it on your own anyway, so I guess you'll have to use a server. You can still make the base code open-source I guess, and add new features that are only available on your customized service. They are not mutually exclusive. There are dozens of open-source software out there that keep being updated and people support the dev through Patreon for example. Not sure how it would work on your project though, since the market is quite niche.

May be OP still can go for AWS or other cloud services and fetch the data for open source purposes. They have various options available and plus its always costly when you build up your own server. Hardware server specifically are very rough to manage. You need to have back up servers in a different location than the current location and thus it adds up more cost to the project. Anyways, all of this is only manageable if OP really wants to do this long term and not just for trial purpose as freshman. They will surely need good amount of money to pour into this before perfectly running server can get established.

Also, heartiest congratulation to OP. Do get involved with GitHub community and have all your answers easily found.  Smiley
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukrainian movie mentions Bitcoin! on: June 01, 2023, 02:57:50 PM
Pretty common for me too.

But the FIRST ever series that used the Bitcoin and also sweetly introduced Bitcoin to the world was “Big Bang Theory”. Honestly that was the first time I ever heard about bitcoin but it was way way casual for me. The mention was only in one of the context where the friends discuss about some Physics theory and end up talking about advancement in the technology. That is the speech where Sheldon the lead guy in the series mentions about Bitcoin.

That was definitely happening for many people around the worlds and fans of it. After that various series started doing it all the time. Mostly criminal based series and series who has FBA involvement.
333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Advice on low power ASIC on: June 01, 2023, 10:43:30 AM
Does the external cooling lowers the power consumption of any ASIC that we use to mine. Like in theory if machine is getting older then there is high chance of Chips getting hotter, withdrawing more power, to keep up the hash rate demand as it is programmed. So does this mean it gets more hotter and thus fans start running with 100% capacity and withdrawing more energy along the way. Will that be impacting more electricity.

Or any of the above doesn’t really make sense because ASIC do not work in that fashion?

On the contrary all of the above suggestions are to buy old machines which could be running on reserve oxygens so what’s the point anyways.
334  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Choosing a cryptocurrency pair on: May 31, 2023, 06:25:36 PM
Ehh, just choose anything that has got bigger volume when you are trading. This makes you sure about two things- you can easily sell at anytime and you can buy at anytime without much wait time really. This all makes it way clearer while choosing the correct trading pair.

Don’t make it too complicated while choosing. There exists multiple trading pair but as anyone could have guessed one should only go with the bitcoin as trading pair and make it easier to trade. If that’s not the choice then ultimately it goes to ETH pair. As far as these two are considered I highly doubt there’re any stable and bulky pairs out there.
335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More Clarification on mining on: May 31, 2023, 05:06:33 PM
I am really not sure why this limitation or factor was added to the network
To ensure that there will be new block mined once every 10 minutes on average. Not more, nor less than that.

but that’s definitely to keep up the demand and supply of bitcoin ratio exponentially.
Not sure what you mean. Difficulty adjustment simply makes bitcoin supply completely inelastic to demand fluctuations. It doesn't matter what the demand will be, the currency will inflate in the same prescheduled pace.

Yes, I am actually stating the same thing which you are defining it as inelastic. I just mentioned it in layman language and you defined it technically.  Cheesy Now I understand why it was locked to those limits. Interestingly the calculations are so precise that it is still working properly till date. I gotten say Satoshi was one hell of a person to imagine this future and lock down every bit of coding precisely.

He knew that when first bitcoin will start to mine and he knew when it will end with the last bitcoin by the year 2140 etc etc. It is also interesting to imagine why the time was limited to 10 minutes only? Why not 1 hour or may 1 minutes? May be they had some other type of calculations in regards with the inelastic supply and timeline of the same. They could have brought it down and we would have seen all the bitcoins mined in may be 50 years or so. Must have been some thought or whether there is technical explanation to this as well?
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you give one reason why I should buy bitcoin? on: May 31, 2023, 12:16:25 PM
Go to your work desk. Take out a dollar bill put it on the table. Now bring out your phone and open bitcoin wallet with just few Satoshi in it and put it alongside that dollar bill. Now imagine you tine travelled a decade ahead of the current time point. The key changes that would happen includes: Dollar bill sitting their just like that but would have lost all its value in 10 years of Timeline. This is because it would face the drama of inflation, economic crisis, governments changing, businesses moving up and down, thus losing the value in terms of inflation. That one dollar bill would never buy you candy stick after ten years because that would cost you let’s say 10 bucks by that time period with % hike adjustments in raw material and shit.

However, look at your phone now, you have those few Satoshi laying around but the Satoshi value changed progressively as the dollar value changed. You still posses few Satoshi but you posses more fiat value and that’s the biggest difference in both of them. If this can’t convince you then nothing will mate.
337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More Clarification on mining on: May 31, 2023, 11:43:05 AM
Good to know above facts as non miner or new comer in the mining development. The technology is undoubtedly fabulous and has got attention of millions of people. The fact that network is adaptive amuses me a lot. The network increases or reduces the difficulty with the time every 14 days based on how much mining has been done is something unique that I am learning today. I am really not sure why this limitation or factor was added to the network but that’s definitely to keep up the demand and supply of bitcoin ratio exponentially. Well correct me if I am wrong but that’s the logic I read on few sources.

why we use mining.
We use mining in order to do the following;
  • Check and uphold the integrity of the blockchain
  • Mining is also the only known means to validate transactions on the blockchain. This process takes alot of computational power and energy to be able to do work (proof of validation). So mining is need for a PoW system
  • Miners also make it possible for all the bitcoin transaction to be included in the blockchain and remain immutable
  • Finally we mine in order to have bitcoin rewards as incentives and also earn transaction fee

- why is there difficulty in mining?
In a layman's way, is to keep the bitcoin network secured. Mining becomes more or less difficult depending on the number of miners and their hashpower. If there's no difficulty in mining I think 51% attack would have happened since.

But why this is so if 51% attack can never be achieved in practical approach? I am 51% mining power to single individual seems to be unreasonable. I read china was close to having this much power but that was not even individual but it was collective mining power across the china region.

I believe we are still far more safer with such unique and sophisticated algorithm.
338  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Fun & learning Bitcoin blockchain downloaded on 1TB Silicon Power 2.5 SSD on: May 31, 2023, 09:51:12 AM
I shifted the 95% blockchain from my Samsung 500GB SSD to my SP 1TB & restarted the QT. It took hours to arrive to 100% because I/O jamming. What's strange it didn't I/O jam when transferring from the Samsung 500GB SSD.
Can you explain what you mean by I/O jamming? I'm not familiar with the term. Is it similar to how your SSD speed becomes slower after a certain time has passed when you copy/paste data?
As I understand it, it is the delay that occurs when you want to convert between the input and output units, and the reason for this is the I/O device sends an interrupt signal to the CPU, but for the user, the memory was full, as the size of the free space was about 55 megabytes, which would cause a complete suspension of the system waiting for the data to be transferred because the CPU will be slower.

For those who want to run a full node, the option of 500 GB is not available, given that we have reached 484 GB.

That is definitely reserved space for cache's and if not system drive then that should have been 500 GB/500 GB.

I am not sure how is it possible to smoothly run bitcoin core if we run them on such low disk space? Moreover it will keep using more and more space as we grow day by day on the blockchain and transactions start building up everyday.

I mean after reading the OP, I am shocked as they were also stuck at some point even after utilizing SSD with 1 TB of storage. Having core size more and more day by day could be concerning as an individual. Do I need to replace entire SSD if someday blockchain goes beyond that space?
339  Economy / Economics / Re: UAE is the biggest gold buyer of Russia during this war on: May 30, 2023, 07:40:48 PM
… and friends thats how we moved towards World War III.
So where one nation is trying to impose all the restriction that they could so that war could get over with but yet another country is buying the precious metal which means their income is stable enough to power the war. Now the fact that other three nations are buying gold from the Russia means they will friend zone each other in the future if a war is broke out between two biggest enemies. China and America are already not on the same page so that becomes another reason too.
UAE is definitely gonna buy gold because that’s also one of the historical and cultural importance for the gold. Hope so this does not fund Russian war heads.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: First Bitcoin Website in 2009 on: May 30, 2023, 06:48:26 PM
That is good past time travel so far.

I am gonna be honest, that looks like a wallet if you compare it with the Electrum wallet or another. Lolz. That is no way a website. I dont know but websites were not that simple back in the time. I mean I remember we had orkut, yahoo type of messengers with all colorful designs and everything. I am not sure if the web development of bitcoin(dot)org was done just as trial and error stuff but that is way way basic design. Literally look alike a wallet.

The year 2009 or birth of bitcoin literally feels like thing of yesterday guys. I never thought Bitcoin is this much old.

I also came to know about the IP address thing just now. Good to know it was removed because it was more exposing and could have led to hacks. @lionheart78 thanks.
