3241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: March 27, 2014, 05:07:13 PM
it wil reach $10,000 one day, not only 1,000. i do believe this .

There is one other thread which says " Will 1 Bitcoin will Reach 1 million usd one day? " that is the thread where people confident about btc reaching 1k$ or 10k$ posts about it reaching 1million$ and i see the same kind of optimism there..! but no substance to back claims

Finally, this post is a bit outdated

million dollars post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517622.0

Interesting now we can all speculate on the future from the 2009 early adopter perspectives Smiley
It's not interesting to speculate in a thread about whether it'll hit 1 mil usd, this thread is still viable. If you haven't noticed we're not at 1000 usd. Smiley

The title is "will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day", it did so close the thread

New thread million dollars post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=537916.new#new  Smiley Smiley Smiley
3242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold below $550? The $400 bottom is in LOL!!!! on: March 27, 2014, 05:05:21 PM
Bitcoin is tanking, might be 300 soon, not a very good time to buy

Look at the posts before you, all this drama may be mostly rumours

In a medium or long term perspective buying at 520$ seem very low, we know some news could bring the price to thousands of dollars in a month

What news would that be?  There has been more extremely positive news over the last few weeks than ever before, yet we're still in the downtrend.

Which is a pretty good indicator which part of the market cycle we're still in. But I guess that was your point as well.

Bad news from Europe, companies earning in the states or Europe, Janet Yellen increasing QE, Draghi monetizing european debt, banks very shady business exposed and banks on the verge of collapse again would be good news for Bitcoin

Paypal, Amazon, governments accepting Bitcoin

Adoption is going up and time is positive for Bitcoin if there is not a catastrophy or an alt coin that takes it down so I feel we should resume the bull market at some point but I agree we are still in the downtrend atm
3243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2014, 04:58:26 PM
Its middle of the night now in China, it will be at least 8 hours before this news gets confirmed as real or not and probably more. Until that happens we are still on very shaky gorund

If it is confirmed the price should drop, we have been on "shaky ground" for a while and that is why the price is @520USD

Personally I think the trend and the sentiment are negative or very negative and there is some room below but there is a lot of room above the current price and most people think correctly that we will see a huge spike us in price within 6months so it should happen

The rollover requirement wouldn't be that much if you get bet on card games : x10 is not that much and getting a 1000% bonus on your deposit is pretty generous

It may be a bait tactic and it worked on me Tongue 0.0253 lost but I had fun, probably 13$ worth of fun
3247  Economy / Speculation / Re: All these people claiming 1 BTC = 1 million+ on: March 27, 2014, 04:30:45 PM
1 BTC can be worth 1million dollars in the future!

But only if dollar's price goes down so much...

That is a negative post about 1BTC=1,000,000USD; what about a postive post on BTC reaching that price : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=537916.new#new

63% after 20,000rolls means the probability is greater than 1/20,000
I calculated "63% after 20,000 rolls" exactly from 1/20,000 probability Smiley It's how probabilities work: if probability of an event is 1/n, and you perform n trials (and n is a big number), usually you'll get ~ 63% probability of getting an event at least once, because 1 - 1/e ~ 0.63 (if you would do the math, it's easy to show this is the limit when n->infinity).

***People that have a lot of affiliates don't even get one of their affiliate to roll 10,000 :
Amount won-number of affiliates
6-0.25252830 BTC   7748
7-0.20269780 BTC   1059
8-0.20220446 BTC   1182
9-0.19664634 BTC   575
The important number here is a total amount of rolls by all affiliates, if most of those 8000 affiliates done just a few rolls, this isn't so strange.

It is possible that those affiliates only did a few rolls each but my affiliates still do more than 1roll/each/week after 2months so I presumed they got similar stats but all affiliates may not be created equal

You are right for the 63% I remembered it being 53-58% but your math is correct here; 1/20,000 is pretty good, let's roll!

Can you calculate how much he get from publicity per roll compared to how much he gives away?

is there a reason for this crash? because latley i hae only seen the market get stronger and more stabilized and i dont see any possible way a huge crash is coming

It's all this damn news "china bans t3h bitcoinz!!!" and 5 minutes later "china not ban t3h bitcoinz!!!" and 5 minutes later "china bans t3h bitoinz!!!"

That's off-putting to new people looking at bitcoin.

China news can drive the market bc there are a good proportion of the buyers

The fact is chinese will probably keep being net buyers of bitcoins every year so it should drive the price up, getting BTC @ 523USD seem pretty sweet, let's stack up

ppl really should stop getting exited about something like this really. So much noobs.

BITCOIN HAS BEEN DECLARED "NOT A CURRENCY" . THIS IS THE END DON't YOU GET IT YET ?

lol!

if thats not a buy signal idk what is.

Apparently the market doesn't think it is

BTC @ 523$ on btc-e

China matters bc they have been buying a lot of BTC, they are 1.3Billion and they will be the next richest country in the world by all means very soon
3255  Economy / Gambling / Re: XBTcontracts.org - Speculate to accumilate. on: March 27, 2014, 03:13:56 PM
There has been some deposits so it is looking better

We still need more advertising but it may come if players want to get ref revenues
I have a few refs already Smiley hopefully one of them will deposit soon Smiley

Maybe a few of them will deposit and change their signature for the xbt link then get a few refs...

Can't wait to finish contract 5 and see some deposits everyday

Some advertising on Bitvisitor would not be very pricey and would bring a few deposits, adds on bitcointalk : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526958.0 would bring tons of deposits
3256  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 27, 2014, 07:11:25 AM
Just out of interest anyone ever hit 10000 on Freeplay?
I guess it's 1 time over 10000 times you roll.
Without interruptions of sleep and such, without counting the luck you have, it would take 416 days straight to win the 10K prize.
I calculated the probability in another thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=319540.msg5483640#msg5483640), and it's ~ 1/20000 with current algorithm, so you need at least 20000-40000 rolls. Here's the formula for probability of rolling "10000" at least once in Wolfram Alpha (for 40000 rolls, feel free to insert other value):

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1-%281-0.00005000014789402484893798828125%29^40000

P.S. You will get only 63% after 20000 rolls.

63% after 20,000rolls means the probability is greater than 1/20,000

If you look at the statistic page you may be able to guess the probability

***People that have a lot of affiliates don't even get one of their affiliate to roll 10,000 :

9-0.19664634 BTC   575

***2 000 000 games played and only 1.8BTC awarded everyday, does a multiply btc game counts as a game?

***WON BY USERS
153.23314610 BTC
GAMES PLAYED
280,577,455
10-0.19556508 BTC 2059

The website is great anyway but it would be nice to know the odds of rolling 10,000

Yes, each Multiply BTC roll counts as a game. Luror is right about the odds of rolling a 10,000

Oh ok, I guess there is not so many rolls played everyday

I thought you couldn't make a profit if you pay 0.35 every 20,000 in average but I should do my calculations again and I will find that you make a 2% profit or something Wink

Congrats on the website, are you developing other websites or does this one take all your free time?

I need to bet 2698.50 CREDITS to be able to withdraw the bonus

I was told (in comments that he later deleted) that you cannot withdraw the bonus.  Just an FYI.

I think you are right : From the Terms :
Accounts with a rollover limit cannot withdraw.
Lets say you ended up with 500 in your balance after you placed 2200 in bets, from your original 200 given freely by the casino. At this point you can cash out your total balance minus their original 200 credits: 500-200=300
Can i withdraw my original funds before the rollover?
No, because the rollover gives you a bonus and in the bonus equation, your initial funds are considered too.
To be eligible for the  bonus, a min 10% of the bonus needs to be deposited.

You can keep the bonus money in your account to play it until you lose it but you can't withdraw it
Let's say you deposit 100 and you get a 200 bonus, if you go up to 1000 and you can withdraw you may only withdraw 780 and you can still play the 220 left and withdraw everything that is higher than 220 but what happened if you go down to 100 then deposit 50 then go up to 200 : you can't withdraw? it is a bit weird
3258  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Track down and confront Mark Karpele's wife and kid to get some answers on: March 27, 2014, 07:03:27 AM
Topic of this thread is stupid. His family has nothing to do with it.

The topic scared me a little bit since it seems like an illegal manhunt but if you think about it, knowing where his family live can help locate him in case he flees

That's the point. I'm not suggesting a illegal mob with pitchforks approach but rather use whatever legal options are available to apply pressure where it may be most effective. There have been examples in the past of people transferring assets and property into the name of spouses and children to try and circumvent proceedings so everything should be considered here. Especially in light of the fact (according to the article) that they moved countries just before the situation at Gox started to be revealed.

Go after his family with the hard questions, keep the legal pressure on and don't let up. With the amount of missing money involved, the excuses and the blockchain facts that contradict them this may be the best way to shake the truth loose.

It is definitely an interesting idea, it is probably legal in most countries to search someone's adresses and public informations if you don't intend to harm him or you don't stalk him

I hope we will get to know more of what happened in this gox fiasco but I am sure there will always be a lot of mystery left

I think I'm not an average user. I'm just using bitcoins for fun and the advantage it gives.

What's the typical Bitcoin user??

I think I am not too different of most Bitcoin user in terms of what I want from Bitcoin and what I am looking for
