However, it appears that she has done her best in giving her son the shortest prison sentence.
I wouldn't call 25 years the shortest sentence possible as I read that his lawyers asked for like 6-7 years. Its definitely not enough considering what he has done, but 25 years is no joke either.

They need to create a show that the American justice system works.
Well, it probably works better than in vast majority of other countries. If that happened in Croatia (and in many other countries), trial would drag on for many years and in the end he woiuld get few years in the lowest possible security prison where he would go out every weekend.

He prob could have gotten a deal for 15 years when he was still in the Bahamas.

At that price some big money cashes out so it's more BTC in circulation, bearish for the price
Retail ETF investors are buying
Big institutional investors are not buying much
Retail trading is still mostly short

==>82k then down to 45k to clean?

As we go up, traders try to make a successful short but get stoploss

Bitcoin ETF approval, halving coming, interest rates probably going down in 2024 are good but the fact is miners are selling, ETFs inflows are good but not great, companies are being prudent and lay off workers.

The effects of higher interests are increasing everyday since loans are coming due for renewal everyday.

I see a new test under 40K$ before halving.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin devs can undo 21M supply cap but can’t force changes on: January 27, 2024, 11:20:06 PM

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-devs-can-undo-21-million-cap-but-cannot-force-changes

Bitcoin developers can theoretically remove the 21-million-Bitcoin supply limit from the source code, but miners are unlikely to accept such a change, according to one analyst.

I'm sure this comes as a huge relief for all of you guys.

Then they go on to say this:

Like most other codes, Bitcoin’s source code can be modified, meaning the 21-million limit is theoretically changeable. However, such a change will have to be accepted by miners to be effective, according to Josef Tětek, a Bitcoin analyst at the hardware wallet firm Trezor.

The more people write about how the 21 million limit can be changed, the more its going to get into peoples' heads that maybe it should be changed. That way they could own more bitcoin and get richer. That's how they would think about it.

It's scary to think that if miners and devs are from a same group that want to make a huge change like increasing the 21-million limit, it could happen in the future. It's unlikely though bc they don't have the incentive to do it yet.

Let's see what happens under $ 37K.

$ 34K would liquidate and stoploss many traders so it seems likely we'll go there in the short term.

A court terme? Peut-être on teste qd même plus bas à mon avis.

Short squeeze in the making or the beginning of hugely depressing spring/summer?

(wondering for a friend ofc)

Edited to add: Had to sell a tiny bit to pay insurances, so it could resume uppity now any moment.

Looking forward to next six-nine weeks.

Hoping to get at least 0.5 btc via buys all under 39k.

soma - you only have about half an hour, maybe down to $38,500 then it shoots back up to $40k.  Smiley

Or it tests 30K$

2 days around 41,600$ next is a pull back or a spike. I give 63% chance of a spike. 44K$ is my target.

So why did the transfers to pay back customers were delayed?
15  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: January 09, 2024, 10:40:21 PM
I have to agree about refund or maybe it will be better if the bet is cancelled directly when the dealer make a mistake like that. I think that will be the fairest action for both the casino and the player. I'm not pretty sure what Stake did after they watched this video, did they give a refund to the player? And I think we should put the bet amount aside because it is not the main problem here. Even if the bet amount is just few cents, there should be fair rule/term when there is a mistake from the dealer.

I think it depends on which way we look at it, we all agree it was clearly a mistake by the dealer the question is whether it was intentionally to cheat players or just a technical error/human error if we consider it to be cheating then we have to consider the bet amount because it doesn't make sense for them to risk their reputation for just $22 and also risks losing users, if it is a technical error then the dealer must get a warning from the provider because it can give rise to negative assumptions. By the way, the dealer and everything in the studio does not belong to stake.com they only rent from third parties so Stake cannot take action against the dealer however Stake may submit a complaint.

It's a good thing it was caught up and not swept under the rug.

Is it normal for a multi-billion USD online casino operation to ignore its threads on Bitcointalk, the birthplace of its operation?

This can never be normal. Not because the forum is the birthplace of the casino, or because the casino has the right to advertise on other platforms, or perhaps just the casino’s own channels, but because this official announcement is the official channel for communicating with the community and interacting with it, especially if there are complaints about the service.

It would have been better for the casino team to maintain its activity on the forum even if they decided to stop all advertising campaigns on it. With the passage of time, they will certainly discover that this is a mistake that could have been avoided, especially since all competitors are present on the forum and do not neglect their official channels.

Is primedice the biggest BTC casino? Is there a ranking somewhere?
17  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The best countries tax wise for Bitcoin on: January 09, 2024, 10:38:15 PM
United Arab Emirates is pretty good!

0% and legal as long as it was not obtained illegally.
In the United Arab Emirates, taxes are included in the standard of living. In these countries, real estate is very expensive, legal services for registering companies, medicine, education and real estate rental are also expensive. 4-5 months of the year it is very hot there, and if you are not used to temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius during the day, then it will be very difficult for you.

Not more than in most big western countries.

Some prices are lower such as construction and home services.

I saw OK flats at 500$/month.

50K$ is around the corner.

A few good news, a bit more rate cut by the Fed and we hit a new ATH in 2024!

If FTX creditors have 100cent on the Dollar of expected return, the judge may only give him 12 years.
