3262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: December 13, 2021, 05:19:52 AM
Real Madrid have proven beyond doubt that they are the kings of Madrid derby with their 2-0 convincing win against their counterparts moving clear and solidifying their lead on the table and increasing the tally of time to 11, the number of times they have won the derby, I think Ancelloti has done a lot for RM, and they are now in a fine form, looking to see who they will be drawn against in the Champions League draw, Hopefully they get PSG, that will be a wonderful encounter.
3263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 12, 2021, 08:11:11 PM
This weekends football has seen a lot of penalties, nice one for Mbappe converting that opportunity easily into a goal and putting PSG in front early against his former team. Many will argue that he should have let Messi take it, but i don't see any reason to. Messi has won it all, and the likes of Mbappe are the future and need all experience and confidence boosters they can get.
3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 12, 2021, 04:47:06 PM
From the Burnley and Westham game, Westham is supposed to get all three points from the game if they have just been able to convert all the clear chances they had especially in the second half, finishing top six in the league is possible for WestHam, but finishing top four seems highly unlikely which i am sure is their target to get into the champions League.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 12, 2021, 03:37:22 PM
The biggest highlights for me is Pena beating Nunes, such a shock, something never expected by almost anyone who wagered on that fight especially since she just came back from childbirth, pretty sure a lot of persons lost money betting on that fight. Charles Oliveira is a very talented and crafty fighter as well, congratulations to him.
3266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 12, 2021, 09:04:47 AM
0.1BTC is a not so big sum when converted to fiat, but if asked if it is sufficient to "make it", i'd say the answer is completely relative to the definition every individual has of the term "make it". We all have standards and milestones financially we've set for ourselves that until we get to that point, we can't say we have made it. At current rate, 0.1BTC is 4,902USD, which is 2,016,530Naira (my local currency), with the current economic hardship, that money is nothing close to making it for the big minded.
3267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 12, 2021, 05:20:00 AM
With the way the top three teams (Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea) on the table are looking currently, each leading the other by just a point difference (38pts, 37pts and 36pts respectively) and the season  still very much open with plenty games, it is difficult to actually predict who is going to be on top when the season finally comes to a close.
3268  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political Economy of Bitcoin in the Third World Nations (Nigeria) on: December 12, 2021, 04:51:31 AM
Change is good but it often comes at a great cost. For third world countries, I think one of the major challenge they have with cryptocurrencies isn't just about the cryptos themselves but also look towards the developed countries and wonder why, in all there wisdom are yet to accept bitcoin along with other altcoins for a means of exchange.
The problem of third world countries is old, uncreative leaders with rigid mentality and ideologies that are uneasy to change and advance. Nigeria is a good example of a country where everything is supposed to be good based on human and mineral resources but unfortunately what we see is something short because of incapable and corrupt leaders that rather loot public funds than think and research on new innovations that could lead the country forward. Good thing change is also constant as well, so we still keeping our fingers crossed for the future.
3269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 11, 2021, 07:18:36 PM
All the top teams are struggling this matchday. ManCity, Liverpool and Chelsea all won their games only by narrow margins and in some cases by luck.
Looking forward to the day Arsenal will be referred to back as a top team in the EPL. MUFC are just lucky to have safe hands De Gea and CR7 in their team, with their current very poor performance in this  Norwich game, if they face a much formidable opponent, MUFC will loose. Maybe the team is trying to adjust though to their new coaches pattern, but at the moment, they are playing below standard even with the lead.
3270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Machine Learning truly predict Bitcoin's price? on: December 11, 2021, 06:15:07 PM
The price of bitcoin is highly dependent on many unpredictable variables, offline/online events and happenings so much that the outcome will be impossible to predict accurately, speculation can only be made even by AI's. IMHO, AI's can only give possible predictions based on current events but not future events that are unplanned.
3271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 11, 2021, 03:59:28 PM
Great to see arsenal in front with a comfortable lead in the first 45mins, it is just very sad to me that Lacazette is going to be leaving at the end of the season. Ramsdale by the way to me right now is the best Goalkeeper in football, xhaka has to improve really, he is loosing way too many balls...If arsenal can replicate this performance every premiership day, we will be doing great.
3272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 11, 2021, 01:01:39 PM
Man city need to let go of some players really, the like of Sterling at the moment has missed good opportunities to put Manchester city ahead although i really like his runs around the goal sometimes. It's not like Manchester city are so bad at the moment, it is actually that the wolves are playing solidly formation wise. If they get a goal first, Manchester city will have to perform extra to get points from this game to stay top of the table.
3273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 10, 2021, 10:09:41 PM
With 1 goal cushion, the strategy of Watford to allow them come on to them was really a bad decision.

This weekends football has started with such a great momentum, what a comeback for Brentford, coming from nothing to get a second and winning a penalty in the final minutes of the second half to win the game, the substitution the Brentford coach made was very tactical and was the difference in the game. Watford supporters will be disappointed as well, i think defence is a major problem the Watford team has.
3274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 10, 2021, 06:24:27 PM
Been thinking about this Liverpool and Aston Villa game this weekend, and imagining the mixed emotions from Steven Gerrard coming back home to Anfield a place where he built a name for himself to a legendary status with another team, with an intention to win and claim victory with all three points. A twist really, but i am still confident that klopps Liverpool will win (3-2).
3275  Economy / Economics / Re: I think most people still trust the USD more than Bitcoin on: December 10, 2021, 05:26:33 PM
Trust issues are real, and trust as we all know is not an easy thing to gain, especially in something or someone new. USD and fiat in general has been in existence for a longer time, people have had major experiences with usage of USD and fiat, so it is no surprise that their trust may be anchored there still. Give bitcoin some more time and definitely more persons will develop trust in the system as well.
3276  Economy / Economics / Re: The CIA Is Deep Into Cryptocurrency, Director Reveals on: December 10, 2021, 05:06:22 PM
If you've seen a lot of spy and secret agent movies, you can see that there is a hint of high tech savviness and sophistication on levels higher than civilian standard that these secret government agencies operate on. Crypto and the Blockchain technology is the future , the CIA must know this, hence I am not surprised at this news of their involvement. IMHO, i think the major concern for most government and why they preach regulations and sometimes ban citizens involvement is because they have identified and recognised the power cryptocurrency provides to every user and are perturbed by it.
3277  Economy / Economics / Re: US Real Estate Enters A Bubble For The First Time Since 2007: US Federal Reserve on: December 10, 2021, 04:54:01 AM
If it were possible to devise metrics for identifying potential bubbles in crypto, what would they look like?

A metrics for identifying potential bubble in crypto? wow, that will be an invaluable resource to the crypto community. I imagine the possibility, and it will mean that almost everyone who is crypto involved will profit massively from adhering to the metrics. More individuals will be attracted to the crypto space and there is also the possibility to drastically reduce poverty. A metric system if possible will definitely be a breakthrough.
3278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukrainian oligarch is mining Bitcoin on: December 10, 2021, 03:55:59 AM

I personally don't think that this has any implications for Bitcoin, in Ukraine or globally, it's just curious to see how these boomer oligarchs are surprisingly savvy enough to recognize an opportunity for profit and quickly set up a large scale mining farm.
This is a perfect representation of someone or people in power who are smart money making individuals, taking full advantage of both the free and friendly crypto environment in Ukraine, buying hardwares and getting good electricity to power his or their operations at good cost. I sincerely doubt that Ukraine will remain without crypto regulations forever, we may begin to see new crypto regulations in the country soon, maybe in the coming year especially since reports of activities like this are now surfacing.
