3301  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: November 30, 2018, 03:39:58 PM
Pretty sure this is the thread you are looking for iasenko. This has users who have hit the activity required but are lacking up to 20% of the required merit.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5024849.0

Thanks man, so many threads that I got lost at the end. I thought that this was the one but apparently it is not.
Apologies for spamming OP's thread, good work you have done here.
3302  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: November 30, 2018, 02:33:33 PM
Sorry to spam your thread with stupid questions but wasn't here a list with all the members needing a few merit to rank up or it was someone else's thread? I can't find it here Sad
3303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for an official ESCROW on: November 30, 2018, 02:28:51 PM
Use only those that are in the list above, if someone else is offering you an escrow service, better to stay away. Seen accounts with green trust for sale, keep this in mind. Always request a signature from a staked address to be on the save side even for those in the list, this is what I would do if I were on your place. It's always good to have extra precautions.
Good luck.
3304  Other / Meta / Re: Cool down time after sending a Merit. on: November 30, 2018, 02:23:58 PM
who can gives merit there is a specific list ? Mostly forums gives these type of powers who have good and healthy contribution to the forum and very limited people can do that maybe 5 to 10 moderators or admins
Everyone who have a sMerit can send it. There are only 119 Merit sources who have a given supply of sMerit which is renewed every 30 day.
Those merit sources are officially anonymous but there are already lists with suspected sources Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats
There are some interesting merit stats ^
3305  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 30, 2018, 12:20:48 PM
At least I'm glad to see sMerits are being put in good use by the few people who send them !  Cool
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=3

It's been only 8 years since his/her/their last activity!
,

People paying respect to Satoshi is not wasting of merit. Keep in mind that theymos can generate infinite amount of smerit.

I'm not tech guy, will ask our people. How this guy recovered bitcoins from old wallets?
Check this thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4959742.0

He will come to this thread as soon as he comes Online. He has a notification system every time someone mention his username.
3307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HUGE PROBLEM, LOST MASSIVE AMOUNT OF BTC. 100 BTC is Reward on: November 29, 2018, 09:25:08 PM
I think I know who can help in this situation, @LoyceV had a thread how to recover bitcoins from old wallets, I guess he can give a hand here.
Of course your case is a bit more complicated.
What type of HDD you have. Maybe something else failed in the system and not the HDD. Did you check the SMART status of the drive?

Hope you find a solution from the situation.
3308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HUGE PROBLEM, LOST MASSIVE AMOUNT OF BTC. 100 BTC is Reward on: November 29, 2018, 09:12:53 PM
After deleting the old wallet.dat and put the new one, I think you need to run from the the command prompt the rescan option.

Code:
bitcoin-qt.exe -rescan
3309  Other / Meta / Re: Cool down time after sending a Merit. on: November 29, 2018, 07:27:46 PM
I don't hold my sMerit, but my intention is to give it to different people. Of course it's not easy, and I don't see a good posts everyday but giving one to two people is a bit better than 2 merit to one person. You gonna say, yeah but those two create 1 more, sure they think about the other users.
Often people are willing to give merit to those who have already received one ( two, because this changed a bit after the new rules for sure) by just checking the merited posts in the history and they feel more comfortable to give their merit in a way they are not wasted on spammers.
Sure but those who have 0 ( or 1 ) have more difficulties to cross the border and earn more merit.
I try to go trough the newbie users history before I reward a merit in the same time i'm giving merit to more established members too trying to be around 50/50 (but it's not unfortunately). I'm not a source (yet Tongue) so every single point matters for someone and changes the way the others see him.
3310  Other / Meta / Re: Merit points to rank up on: November 29, 2018, 06:24:01 PM
Begging will not help you, it will make your situation even worse. Better get a Copper membership, it's not that expensive.

~
But I see no wrongdoing: I've created a new account to test it, and the default profile address is also the deposit address. So I assume OP's withdrawal was credited again to his own account (minus fees).

Oh, I have noticed this just now after you mentioned it. But I still think that there should be a way to inform the user that his default address should be changed if he wants to withdraw. The fees are not so big, yeah but no need to loose money for nothing.
3312  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitcoin withdraw adrees on: November 29, 2018, 09:58:58 AM
I just registered a new account to test the case and yes, it is weird but you have a default address assigned to the account :

This is the address:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1LxYVvWR4Am1rcsRze6yqCQ1E1sAa7PMBX

It is unacceptable for me to register with a default given address to which you have no access /pkeys to.
If it is not possible to register without address then when you try to withdraw should appear a warning message to change your default Bitcoin address to one you have control over.

Contact the support. TheQuin is your man, you can probably PM him with the link to this thread.

I assume you choose the default address by yourself, right? In that case it should be in one of your wallets.
If someone else owns the address, you've lost your coins.

You can choose a wallet when you register, it requires only email and password + Captcha. That's all. Nowhere you find info that you need to change your address.
3313  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk should make their own coin on: November 29, 2018, 09:27:00 AM
Never clicked any of the links, as I thought that his account was compromised.

I have seen that announcement pretty late. The ICO should have ended, but the timer was (is!) still running.
It writes "invest until June 15 for 25% discount", it's almost December and the button is active.
Just click the Buy now button. No virus, nothing compromised. It's actually a great initiative to promote "read before you buy" and "if it's too good to be true, probably is a scam".
For the lazy ones, it goes to this website at the end, website that I think it's owned by SEC.

I saw it in the very begging. I knew theymos wont support any ICOs, he already had the restriction for them to advertise on the forum, suddenly he posts a shitcoin ICO and pinned it on the top in the Ann section. There was something really fishy, and no matter how much I trust theymos I did't have the courage to click any of those links.
Later when I got his message from theymos_away, then I went trough the site.
No doubt it is a really good example for the newbies, how to stay on the safe side and not being scammed.
3314  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk should make their own coin on: November 28, 2018, 07:53:55 PM
C'mon guys and girls, you don't know that BitcoinTalk already has a coin? There's an ICO too. theymos himself has posted [ANN][ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT
...
Wow Smiley what an idea, and it's 63 pages now and still counting Cheesy
I was just about to post a 'Good project' into that topic but I was afraid that someone would report me because of low quality posting Smiley
unbelievable that people can write but they can't read (or they just don't like to read Cheesy )

I was surprised too but for Good project some users got merit in the very beginning i don't think you gonna get in trouble for hype-ing it.I actually thought that theymos' account was hacked and I open a thread in meta, but I got confirmation from themos_away that it was a "real deal" only for to give a lesson to the newbies.

3315  Economy / Services / Re: KROGOTHMANHATTAN ESCROW SERVICE on: November 28, 2018, 07:40:24 PM
I also can vouch for Krogo. Got more than 5 coins shipped to me from his free raffles.
In addition he was always helpful when I had questions regarding coins.
He is one of the few people I can trust the most in the forum.
3316  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FREE RAFFLE] CLOUDBET & KROGOTH'S LOADED DENARIUM COIN RAFFLE#3 on: November 28, 2018, 07:31:52 PM
Any place for me??
I love those raffles, and this one is incredible Wink

I'll take
91 iasenko.

If this is taken, as usually happens when I try to joint a raffle and the OP is not yet updated, please give a number at your discretion Smiley
3317  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk should make their own coin on: November 28, 2018, 07:24:48 PM
Merit coin?
Spammers could buy merit coins so they could rank up while shitposting. Lol

Bitcointalk doesn't need a coin. It's a forum to discuss a technology

But they are already buying it. Well it's another thing that we catch them and they get banned or get painted in red but they still do it. So merit has most of the characteristics of the other tokens/coins and it's much more successful than 99% of the shitcoins listed in the Ann section every day.
So theymos when merit on exchanges??? When moon?? I'm so successful, I'll buy me a lamboo... /jk
3318  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk should make their own coin on: November 28, 2018, 01:39:46 PM
What's wrong with the merit (coin)?

- It's free (if you are smart enough)
- It's decentralized ( except that it's controlled by theymos but and he can reverse transactions )
- It's PoW, you have to post quality stuff to get be rewarded and you are constantly monitored by the others in the pool if you try to cheat.
- You can sent to everyone (following the specific protocol )
- There was an Airdrop in the begging but some people have missed it.
- You can actually trade it (it's not recommend as you may got tagged, but it's possible) for real money Cheesy

Why you need another coin??

3319  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts on: November 28, 2018, 01:13:27 PM
Do you have a public access to your recent database, or it's just for private use?
I don't have an online interface with it, but if anyone wants to have a look, I can upload 0.5 GB of tar.bz2 compressed text files somewhere.
I think it can be handy to go trough it and check for plagiarism and deleted posts. Maybe you can put it on a google drive and share it. I have a place to store it too I'm paying more than 50 EUR per year for my hosting which I don't have time to use completely, but one flaw is that is not really anonymous so I can share it only to people who I do really trust.
3320  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts on: November 28, 2018, 01:01:12 PM
OK @LoyceV so recent is the place to go. Just to confirm even deleted posts can be viewed from here or are you a Mod and you can see them in that way?
Sorry, you got it wrong: I download posts from "recent" when they're first posted, then store them locally.
You can't download them when they're already deleted.
