3301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 28, 2022, 11:41:08 PM
We also have to consider that in those said years, there are different trends that happened at some coins. Therefore, the Top 10 in the snapshot date chosen by OP which is October 24 has different data from other months within or the same year.

Take note also that when there's a big hype on a certain coin, it's really achievable to build up a big volume making their market capitalization grow but in most cases, that hype doesn't last for long resulting in not sustaining their position in the Top 10 coins in terms of market cap.

Anyway, I am honestly impressed with the effort done on that comparison.
Thanks, and that's a good point. I considered putting aths in there too, like for example what would have happened to your nxt holdings in 28.12.2017 because of ignis airdrop for NXT holders

...but topic would have got way more complicated then just pure hodling.

-cut-. Just think of Luna Terra, it was not into the top 10, but it was among the leading cryptocurrency list. -cut-
Luna terra fits there because i removed stablecoins.

@OP, I think to avoid confusion for newbies in case they don't research but only look at ROI, OP you should add the market capitalization column.
-cut-

You might be right. I'll do that later. In fact i could just remove the amount column and put it there. (from past to time of writing)...

The problem lies in discovering new projects that have demand, which is very difficult because the current currencies with a high market capacity will not continue to achieve such heights and you will find that they have been replaced by new currencies and so on.

 - This strategy is not suitable for beginners, but for experts who have technical and analytical knowledge.
 - It will not be suitable for all years, but only when the market is in a bubble.

Even when you back the best horse, it could fail and "VHS wins again". Most of the time it's pure luck and right contacts.

Also, your choice of date (24.10.20XX) does not give facts.

It was random date from the day i started looking into this, it could have been any date. I am not sure what facts you are referring to.

3303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 28, 2022, 08:35:27 AM
Please don't make make a thread to lure a newbie to invest in shitcoins, if they're only look on the percentage without doing a research they will say ETH and BNB are better than Bitcoin because ETH and BNB price is surge higher than Bitcoin, also ETH and BNB didn't loss too much like Bitcoin.
The main factor is the date that the @OP use, he's choosing a particular date that make BTC performance isn't in good condition.

What can I say if the project who make the biggest ROI and it's survive for around 14 years is only Bitcoin.

It's a well known fact that if you hodled bitcoin from the start you would done well. But that's not the point now is it?

Nor is it relevant, because if i had gone back one more year to 24.10.2012, there wouldn't been real alternatives,
nor i could find any chart data. And back then btc marketcap would have been $119M,
(that would be nr 176 marketcap right now.)

So obviously it had room to grow in retrospect, like shitcoins have now. Question is: how much more room there is?

I was just pointing out that that they all were considered as low caps at some point, so you might want to take
a look at low caps to get gains (that's why i mentioned shiba).

And most of people in crypto are profit maximalists that don't care as much about
Fundamentals or code, nor do they understand them. I wouldn't judge them as they make most of the liquidity.

-cut-
I really think that this whole we buy 100$ with of coins and in 10 years we're rich and not doing anything else needs to stop.

I actually agree with all your points, but i realize that i don't know how much more room there still is to grow. I thought that ETH marketcap
was way too high when it was $12 so maybe don't listen to me Cheesy... But eth and btc now? maybe 10x? And even that could take years.
That's why i was talking about low caps as an alternative. As with buying low caps i have made most of my money.

This is certainly true, and if OP fully updated the rankings from 2009, it is evident that bitcoin has the highest ROI compared to the other cryptocurrencies.

Can you remind me what btc marketcap was in 2009? Did you get my point about low caps?

Investing to top marketcap coins

Investment advice you hear in crypto a lot is "Just HODL". And if you ask what bags to hodl, most people will point to bitcoin and other top marketcap coins.

In this topic i made few portfolios to check out how it would have played out if you had put $1000 dollars ($100 per coin) to top 10 marketcap coins years ago and just holded them.

I am not including buy fees into this or staking possibilities, nor i am counting possible fork rewards. Also i am removing all the stablecoins for obvious reason. Current data snapshot was recorded at the time of writing (28.10.2022)

As you see, some of the coins didn't really make it.
Granted that some of the coins weren't really high marketcap in the first place, even though they were top coins at the time.
(well except from bitconnect but that's whole another story)
My personal bet is that you could still 10x your $100 with top mc coins with this tactic in the future but that it wouldn't really bring you financial freedom if you are poor in the first place.

With small amount of money to invest ($100), you are better off finding micro/low/mid marketcap gems that has room to grow. And hodl
There's a high change that you might lose it all when you buy wrong shady low caps,
but as it's only $100 you are gambling with, possibility of high gains outweigh the high risk imho
Because your while your 24.10.2020 bitcoin investment is now up under 60%,
consider being exremely lucky and finding microcap like shiba inu at the same time, and that you threw $100 to it instead....

Again i am not counting fees but price per coin was $0.000000000168 and with that you would have got 595,238,095,238 SHIB...
That's now worth over $6M and in 29.10.2021 it peaked in bloody $40M!!!
And as history is that while most coins die, lot of the huge ATHs are small blips next to new ATHs in retrospect so hodling is most of the time the way to go, it just depends a lot what the fundamentals of the coin you hodl happen to be
...Anyway, as this advice (invest to top coins) has worked quitew well in the past.
I wanted to try and see if it would work now and i made new portfolio for 24.10.2022 top mc coins:

So here are top ten mc coins in 24.10.2022!:
BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, ADA, SOL, DOGE, MATIC, DOT, TRX
I am hoping that there's a change we all might still get rich with this tactic
and just by hodling. So let's wait and see. Good luck everyone.

Well link to the source of the story would help for starters. You talk about USD conversion and we don't even know which casino was it or even the country this took in place, or if he even was a citizen of this country. Different countries have different resources to handle something that happens overseas.

Perhaps my statement was too bold. You're right, not everything is the same. However, most cases of human oppression and lack of freedom and rights for women or anyone who is different than the so-called "normal" (homosexuals, transgenders, you name it) are found in Islamic or Arab countries. Calling the hijab a religious thing and forcing it upon women is unacceptable.

Yep, this is true, i no-one disagrees. And Russia or other dictatures aren't really far from this either. They just need to use other arguments to justify oppression towards minorities and old gender stereotypes. Like USA did with banning different drugs probably just to have more control on various groups of people. Extreme enough religion doesn't even need to act like they care. But as we were talking about Patriarchy (in Iran), it doesn't really surprise me that women get to be in the bottom when you look at USA and realize that women in usa got voting rights in 1920 while african americans got them in 1870. So even the people they just while ago slaved got rights faster.

Even if it wasn't mandatory, I still wouldn't get why women would want to wear such a thing under the scorching sun. I find the whole ordeal degrading to women, and those who support human degradation in the name of their god make me sick to my stomach.

This happens constantly in BDSM circles, imho people are free to degrade themselves if it happens with consent or in Consensual Non-Consent.

I don't understand why they are still only listed on so few exchanges and on strange exchanges like LAToken, when there are exchanges like: Kucoin, gate.io, bitstamp, huobi global, bitrex, poloniex, Liquid...

This is a really good question. Maybe their treasury is not doing well and they can't afford to list (which would be understandable on these markets). Then again gambling related crypto casinos works sort of seperate to markets as at least bfg tokens have actual utility.

But why bother listing to shady cex? Maybe they promised a "top" centralized exchange and fear lawsuits from whales that have invested lots of money in bfg. Those could happen and it's a lower risk just to list to any top exchange (even if they are mostly faking volume) then endanger their company.

Religion is the largest scam on earth. It's a form of oppression for everyone, not just women. I'm an atheist and am against any form of religion. Christianity is no better, but Islam is the most extreme form of human oppression. It's been the root of evil since the dawn of humanity.

I don't recall seeing much news coverage in Iran. What's happening there is astonishing for the 21st century. They're killing their own citizens. I wouldn't be surprised if they've actually cut internet access, like they threatened to do.

I am atheist too, but saying that christianity or islam is something is kinda misleading as there are like 30k different sects in christianity and quite few in Islam as well, (Mainly Sunni and Shia). And there are very different kind of leaderships that change over time and some are more extreme then others, like under taliban or isis things got way weirder then they ever had been before.

And like in Christianity or any other religion there are people who don't take it seriously. They have just raised into that culture.

I think the Betfurry team can list it on a better exchanger if they want. But that might be too hard. I think Betfurry gambling site is a little different from other gambling sites. I have seen other gambling sites like tokens.  They don't think much about it.

Latoken is most likely cheapest that takes in anything with money. Weirdest thing about this trading compo in there is that you can buy fake volume for token and most of them have that. Now who you think is going to trade most when bots do fake volume between the buy and sell walls all the time.

There were no winners with this move (listing/competition). It was bad choice and reeks desperation as it's the shadiest exchange out there. But i guess they have promised a CEX so they delivered one. I am not participating in that trading compo, nor i would i deposit anything to Latoken.

I really thought that i made a good deal buying this from dex, but i sold it back now.

I registered, i confirmed the account and everything but when i click "sign in" it doesn't do anything at all. I even allowed popups and disabled my browser shield but nothing happens. To be honest at this point i am not comfortable using site that deals with real money but has problems with login even if i got around it somehow after this.

I find it absolutely sickening that during all this outrage, which was sparked after the death of a 22-year old woman, there are still men supporting the wear of the hijab and being against women who want to wear whatever they want. I've seen videos of men harassing women for this reason. Personally, I'm an atheist and completely against any religion. To this day, I cannot understand why people blindly stick to religion even though it infringes on your freedom and rights. Christianity isn't much better, but Islam shows way worse values for women or people perceived as different. Not to mention that women were not permitted to obtain a driver's license in Saudi Arabia. I've seen a pattern in many Islamic countries encroaching on other people's freedoms, freedoms that the west takes for granted.

I honestly haven't anyone in western world supporting forced hijab. I have heard people supporting freedom to wear them if one chooses. Which i can understand because i don't want to kink shame people. I mean it could be a sex thing for all i know.

But religion is just another form of oppressing women, some religions are just pretty hardcore with it. Misogyny lives in western society as well in different forms, but all it takes is some ridiculous new justification for it and we would get to hardcore stone age rules with it again. Religion is just excuse and one more weapon to use. It's as efficient as totalitarian dictatorships.

We are responsible for the fact that people may have problems with the game. That's why we have a self-exclusion tool https://betfury.io/responsible-gambling

To my knowledge self-exclusion is a requirement to have a gaming licence in the first place so it's not really because of your "responsibility" but because if you want to stay operational. Every legit casino has this so i guess this just means you are legit enough.

Not trying to insult here and i like your casino, i am just annoyed when businesses are taking credit for something that's required anyway.

Sorry If this is not the place to post this.

Did anyone have any experience with mrSloty.com?
there are a lot of sportbook markets, but cannot find to much info about that bookie.

All I found is that the withdrawals takes a lot of time, bout 14-20 days

Are these people who waited for 20 days still waiting their money back? Because it sure looks like that. Trustpilot ratings are overwhelmingly 1 star, and i would avoid it even if it had few of the bad but possibly credible reviews.

Even if it wasn't a scam, waiting over week of anything would be just beyond surreal when one main advances of cryptos is that they are fast to send.

So this software magically makes your car mine $20/hr worth of Bitcoin?  What ASICs are being used to reach this feat?  I hate to call bullshit, but I'm going to.  Even if your car could somehow mine Bitcoin faster than the best ASICs on the market, it's not like the electricity is free.  You're still paying for it.  I'm not sure if you expect someone to give you 5 grand just on the promise of this magic software with no evidence of it working whatsoever, but I find it extremely unlikely.  This doesn't even come close to passing the sniff test.  If this were possible, people would be buying fleets of these cars and parking them at chargers all over the country.

As I posted in the original post, we are the first to develop a solution like this and it is completely new way of mining crypto. We’ve sold 600 units already and all the feedback is positive. Everybody has it own choice how and where to invest his money.

You literally didn't explain it in the first post. And this one wasn't an answer to OgNasty's question. The answer you need to give is an explanation on HOW.
Anyone can say that they were the first to develope a magic mystery money software. This isn't an explanation, you are just making a claim that anyone can do. Sure, i can make a software that mines during the charging my car, it's just i have to pay for that extra electricity that goes for mining and not charging my car.

3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 27, 2022, 07:09:40 AM
Well technically casinos can choose their customers and make up excuses to throw you out. But that's risky to them as they could face a lawsuit if that would go south, making them lose more then they would have in the first place.

But there's no way that anyone would prove that you count cards, and you would have to do that a lot with thousands of participants with very high stakes to make even a small dent to their income. They don't really even care. I think that trowing out people is just a rumor that some people have started of themselves after they lost money, behaved poorly while drunk. So they wouldn't have to prove to anyone anything.

Casinos in Finland are constantly reshuffling their set of packs anyway so counting wouldn't make a difference so much that it would give much of an edge. So i guess this is a cool story to glorify some brilliant mythical players to make gamblers feel better about their changes.

Changed my mind, this has too many red flags and seems like an obvious scam.

There's no place where you could ask or talk about bounty, no escrow, all details are more then vague. Asking politely anything about this gets you banned.
