3341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outlawed: Get Away from Bitcoin or Be Imprisoned! on: August 07, 2017, 01:08:38 PM
why are some people still obsesses with this question? I don't get it.
most countries have already showed support one way or another for bitcoin. what else do you want? Japan has already announced bitcoin as a legal method of payment just like any other currency. other countries have showed interest and already set rules for usage of bitcoin and clearly stated they are only against illegal activities such as money laundering through bitcoin or dark markets.
3342  Economy / Speculation / Re: thoughts on rally on the week on: August 07, 2017, 07:12:35 AM
in the past month or so, there has been a lot of negativity in the media regarding bitcoin. the news from all sites were talking about bitcoin splitting into two and things like that. the speculators were saying price will drop hard because of it. and on top of it all, there were a lot of FUD to make everything worse.

all this meant people either sold and got out or kept their money and decided not to invest in bitcoin until things become clear.

now they are crystal clear. Smiley
we know that SegWit has 100% support and it will be locked in, in about 1 day. and there is no split because of the 100% support. so the first things that I said (the first paragraph) is now moot. this means all those who sold and all those who had money to invest buy were waiting are coming back now. they are investing all that money back and price goes up. when something like this happens it is also followed by a Fear OF Missing Out (FOMO) and people invest even more. this can mean an even sharper rise upwards and a very big short term profit.
3343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin remains strong despite the fork. on: August 07, 2017, 07:01:05 AM
the fork that everyone was concerned about was the SegWit fork and all the drama about the BIP148 split which was a real threat in my opinion because it literary split bitcoin in two since it had little support but enough to make a split.
as we know now 100% got behind SegWit so that concern went away so price went up.

the fork you are talking about is the certain small group of people splitting off going away. I don't even like calling it a fork or a split. they just went away to their own lonely chain.
and since nobody cared about it anyways, it had no effects on bitcoin price and as you an see today, BTC is rising very well.
3344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to open a bitcoin wallet completely anonymously? on: August 07, 2017, 06:50:58 AM
No way.
Bitcoin managed to mislead others in that there might be some kind of anonymity.
Will always be a trail on which you can associate some kind of wallet a man.

I was generally surprised by its price. A lot of flaws in this payment system, and they are in demand. Very strange.

if some people decide to believe some wrong stuff regarding bitcoin and if they decide to not read about those stuff from proper places then it is their own fault they are "misled".
bitcoin does not mislead anyone. on the starting page of bitcoin.org for beginners to get to know bitcoin better it clearly states that "bitcoin is not anonymous". I don't know how it can be clearer than this!!

there are two different things you shouldn't confuse:
1. a bitcoin wallet
2. a service calling itself wallet. like web wallets such as coinbase or exchange wallets.
the second group are not anonymous and are not wallets although you can use them as wallets to send and receive.

...all these things require you to download something and use third party software ...
well in order to have a bitcoin wallet and generate a key pair you need to use some code or software. they are al open source and there is a very good documentation available on bitcoin.org
you either go through the code or write your own thing if you are paranoid and also an expert in programming or if you know nothing about coding you have no choice to trust the opinion of others for doing a "peer review" of the code and be sure it has nothing bad in it.

ps. remember that bitcoin is not fully anonymous by design.

What would you recommend then? The most reliable, secure and private one?

choose your wallet from here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
I suggest one of these:
bitcoin core: as a full node, which takes longer to sync initially and will require a bigger storage space
electrum: as an SPV wallet, which is super fast to sync and takes a very small storage space
hardware wallet: choose one from that list.
paper wallet as a cold storage: bitaddress.org is a good one.

but you have to learn the differences and learn how to make the wallet safe. read the link.

3346  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Yobit tapi on: August 06, 2017, 04:33:37 PM
your url should be: https://yobit.net/tapi without the parameters and just post those params to that base url.

your nonce is always 1. use a dynamically increasing one instead. something like
Code:
int n = DataConverter.DateTimeToUnixTimestamp(DateTime.Now);

I am not familiar with 'WebRequest' class but it seems like you are setting the content type ok:
ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";
but you never give it any content! and never make that content in the correct type!

this is your content
Code:
"method=getInfo&nonce=" + n

and you should make it a correct type like this:
Code:
StringContent myContent = new StringContent(content, Encoding.UTF8, "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");

right now Yobit is receiving an empty content, with hash of params that doesn't match that empty content with an addition of a wrong nonce.
3347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardfork, the best thing that happened to Bitcoin since scaling debate started on: August 06, 2017, 03:45:35 PM
Opposition = Decentralization
opposition if constructive can lead to improvement and possibly even competition.
but opposition if led to split is more destructive than anything else.
and in any case it has nothing to do with decentralization in my opinion.

Quote
There are ~200 countries on the planet. If each government in each country ran a full node, wouldn't the network would remain decentralized?
no it will make things horrifying. we need a decentralized network when peers are defined as a user, or an individual person as long as possible. if these individuals stop being able to run a full node then it is the death of decentralization.

Quote
Only when all governments begin colluding together will the entire network become centralized. This will never happen as long as Russia and China do not submit to American authorities, and vice versa.
doesn't make any different. you are still describing a heavily centralized system.

Quote
Opposition ensures that both sides are held accountable.
same as above about opposition.
and it will only be good and constructive as long as both sides are working on the same thing not on different projects (split/forked off chain)
3348  Economy / Economics / Re: transition FIAT to DIGITAL? on: August 06, 2017, 08:51:05 AM
the transition from physical currency to digital currency has begun a long time ago. these days people rarely use cash. we are all using cards, our phones and all kinds of weird stuff to pay online/offline. and that was a long process and took years.

transition from fiat to bitcoin is another thing though. I don't think it will happen. people and government won't simply give up on their centralized country currency and use a decentralized global one. not for another 100 years maybe. but that doesn't mean bitcoin can be used as a currency alongside fiat though. I am only talking about replacing it.
3349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin on: August 06, 2017, 08:32:45 AM
search the same question you just asked ("is it good time to buy bitcoin now") and look at the dates and what bitcoin price was at each of those dates. and then come back and take a look at bitcoin price now. that should answer your question well enough.

we can't know the future but there is a very good chance that bitcoin will continue on this path upwards and will be worth a lot more in the future.
3350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers have stolen my money on: August 06, 2017, 08:24:43 AM
bL4nkcode

I wrote above that thieves can stole all my money after know my Backup phrase of 12 words, what I write on their fishing site to get BTH on my blockchain wallet as in that video.

your 12 word recovery phrase on blockchain.info IS your private keys. and you willingly handed over the keys to all your funds from now and future to the scammers. and let me emphasize on the "future" part again. if you continue using the same blockchain.info wallet and even if you generate a new address in it, the scammer still can steal your money because he too can generate the same address.

you need to either stop using blockchain.info or create a new account on that site now.
3351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8th August on: August 06, 2017, 08:16:32 AM
Who is all expecting a price pump on that day?

price is currently on a good rise, despite now being a little bit more slow. but we can't expect a rise all day everyday. what I expect is a more smooth rise from here on out. the FUD has subsided and now we are on a better trend upwards. this can be the come back of good old days of slow solid rise with no shakeout of weak hands on big scale.
3352  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cash (BCC) , beware Traders on: August 03, 2017, 08:54:22 AM
In case you're wondering why the BCC price seems high: It's because no one can deposit BCC to exchanges. Once this changes, expect a crash.

they can actually deposit in a couple of exchanges (have not tested, just quoting). exchanges like ViaBTC are accepting deposits although with a high number of confirmation and that is actually why the price there is about $200 lower than other exchanges. people have been depositing and dumping there, some don't want to risk and wait until big exchanges like bittrex open up deposits and get crushed under the heavy load of dump.

BTC-e refunds money to the user

are you asking or are you telling us?
if it is a statement then give us some links. otherwise last thing we've heard from btc-e was them only giving a promise of either coming back in a couple of weeks or start paying them (refund) in 1 month after it.
and checking the website it is not accessible yet!
3354  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Bitcoin Price In 5 Years on: August 03, 2017, 08:19:50 AM
anything below $1000 is simply not going to happen unless bitcoin dies and we don't have any reason in the foreseeable future for that to happen.
and based on the growing adoption, which we are getting back to now by the way, the price will only rise. in the long term when we get back on track. my vote goes to something around $10,000. it just needs a couple more of countries to do what Japan did this year to see the real mass adoption and rocket to the moon.
3355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are paper wallet and hardware wallets better or safer than blockchain.info on: August 03, 2017, 08:10:40 AM
there are a lot of what ifs, and if you just sit around and think about them all day you won't get anywhere. just think about a way to avoid them.
like saying "paper wallet can be burnt", how many times the documents at your home have been burnt? you see it is not a common thing at all. besides if you are too worried then make a backup from your paper or hardware wallet or anything else. and then keep that backup some place else.
for example if you are holding a considerable amount of bitcoin you can simply put it in a safety deposit box in a bank.
3356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Fun Poll for BTC vs BCC on: August 02, 2017, 08:39:33 AM
I will make sure to dump all the BCC I get as fast as I can.

we have all seen what happens to altcoins with similar approach. when they give free altcoins to bitcoin holders, they just dump those coins and price always goes down. and it continues to go down as more people start claiming their coins and dumping them.

and to this day there has been no exception, even for good altcoins like Byteball.

If you want to dump your BCC and not have BCC in the exchange, you will be very slow in moving your BCC to exchanges as the hash rate is too low.

I eventually did some kind of half and half strategy.
I've deposited about half my bitcoin amount on exchanges before the fork to receive the BCC airdrop automatically and I have already sold that on top of the price and have the bitcoin ready to be withdrawn back to my cold storage again.

the next half I am still holding and trying to find the best and easiest way to transfer it to exchanges as soon as they open up deposits. the first step is over meaning transferring bitcoin from my keys to new keys on bitcoin. but the second step of sweeping the old keys in BCC is not.

Which exchange did you use? What was the price of BCC?

I have accounts on many different exchanges and most of them did credit my BCC tokens.
first one was Yobit which I sold around 0.18BTC
the other was Novaexchange which I sold around 0.3BTC
the next was on Cryptopia which I sold around 0.15BTC

all of the above were small amounts I keep in each exchange to play around.

the main thing was in bittrex which I have been selling. sold some around 0.175-0.18BTC and bought back in the dip around 0.14-0.15BTC and already have my sell orders placed. I'll probably continue playing there for more profit until their deposits open then I'll sell before the deposits start and sell pressure increases.

(edit: oh look my rank went up to legendary after this comment Cheesy)
3357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex has given users their BCC 1:1 on: August 02, 2017, 07:20:29 AM
there is only one topic in this board talking about Cex.io not giving the BCC amount their users were supposed to get. I don't have an account there to confirm this though.
but so far all the rest of the exchanges that promised to give, have already credited each user account with a 1:1 amount of BCC. and all of them that I have checked also have their markets ready and people have started selling their coins slowly as they wake up and see their balances.

interesting to see bittrex on top of the volume though. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets
3358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any exchanges accepting Bitcoin Cash / ABC / BCH / BCC or whatever it is called? on: August 02, 2017, 06:22:15 AM
I am personally waiting for bittrex to open up deposits because it is the most stable exchange that I know that doesn't require crazy amounts of verification (my account is also old and never verified but has a big daily withdrawal limit!).
the volume is also good there which makes it an easy place to sell a large amount to and I don't have to worry about them pulling some shenanigan on me. whereas using other exchanges like ViaBTC is highly risky.

and while we are waiting I suggest you start moving your bitcoins first to a new key before you try importing your wallet in bitcoin cash wallets. you don't know what it will do to your private keys it may very well steal your bitcoins. which is why it is best to only import empty (of bitcoin) private keys in BCC wallet.

is there any stats on the amount of hash power from miners this is receiving?
all the websites regarding Bitcoin Cash have very limited data, its blockchain explorer which is listed in the announcement topic is even down!
