2621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need your advice for student who invested all his savings into bitcoin on: January 05, 2018, 02:54:21 PM
Hello everybody.
Here is a real problem when not experienced people invest in bitcoin because of its hype. But let's imagine if you are a student who invested all savings into bitcoin.
Many experts say it's a bubble. CEO of JPMorgan Chase says it's a bubble, now it's down almost 30 - 40%...

What can you advise?

the JPMorgan CEO didn't say bitcoin is a bubble, he said bitcoin is a "fraud" and this was a couple of months ago when price was a lot lower than this. it was back when price was having a correction very similar to the recent correction at $7800.
and then we found out he was manipulating the market for a bigger dip so that his firm can buy bitcoin.

my advice? is that you should stop listening to the media and start using your own judgment. it is your money, and nobody cares about it more than you do.
2622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bot advice on: January 05, 2018, 02:44:49 PM
you used the word "noob" so if you are a beginner to trading then it is best not to start your trading journey with a bot. a bot is not a magical tool you click the button of so it can generate you money. it is a tool that works best if you already know how to trade and make profit in this market otherwise you are wasting your money for nothing. you may make some money and lose some money without ever knowing what you did right or wrong.

I say first try to reach a point where you earn enough profit that you can buy these bot licenses with the profit from one or two of your trades then go for it.
2623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has a fluctuating value !! on: January 05, 2018, 01:38:41 PM
stop playing at trading game that you don't understand and the market fluctuations which are perfectly normal won't ever "crush your money"!

just come up with an amount that you can afford to lose and invest that much, preferably in a dip and then put it in your cold storage and forget about it for at least 6 months.
and if some day you decided to start playing at trading at least make sure you learn how things work and how you should do it properly and then start doing it.
2624  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding will be a risk or not?? on: January 05, 2018, 01:30:59 PM
As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.

well this only proves that you shouldn't be listening to random people and think of what they say as "predictions". they are making random guesses instead and convince you that it is a prediction.

you are talking about holding in your title so you shouldn't be concerned that much about the short term prices. the medium price is currently at around $13500-$14000 and in short term that will go up and down about 5-10% buy anywhere here and buy a lot if it went below that resistance and you are good to go.
2625  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading : BASED ON COINMARKETCAP :) on: January 04, 2018, 09:49:43 AM
yeah sometimes but NOT always!
right now you are only seeing the top coins that have risen and you are excited about it because you were involved even you have not made an investment in any of them.
but if you hang around long enough and visit the "ALL" section of coinmarketcap.com to see all the 1700 something coins you can see that there are lots of other coins that are rising just as well as these so called top coins. sometimes even with high volumes enough for a whale to make profit.

try not limit yourself when it comes to trading altcoins...
2626  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Road to 0.1 btc on: January 04, 2018, 09:42:23 AM
this is my new project this 2018
i got 0.004 btc and i just injected it to a trading site
so here's my strategy please help me decide Smiley
1. invest it in 1 altcoin (short term/long term)
2. putting  your eggs in different baskets
which means i will divide my 0.004 and buy at least 3 alt coin (short term/long term)

what do you think?

well with 0.004BTC your eggs are pretty small and diversifying it any further into more altcoins is going to make things only harder in my opinion. it is a good amount to start with but only for one not multiple investments.

stick to one altcoin and start from there. see what you can make with that. know that you have the potential of making that into twice as much with only one good trade. then after you made a couple of these good trades you can start diversifying and make multiple good trades at the same time.
2627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it the end...? on: January 04, 2018, 09:12:31 AM
2018, IMO, will be the year of non-minables vs minables.
I don't think so, the distribution model of non-minable coins has never been good and nobody likes that. most of them are 100% unfair distributions which makes the coin even more centralized and the rest are unfair in the sense that some people get more of it. for example the way they distribute it to those who have more bitcoin! someone owning 10000BTC gets a lot of it and I with 0.001BTC get nothing.
in other words rich get richer.

Quote
Currently the non-minables (and utility coins like ETH)
ETH is minable!
and it has no utility apart from ICO scams...

Quote
are taking their lion's share of the market.
they are getting pumped, there is a big difference. and how long do you think that lasts?

Quote
My major question is: Do you believe that the "new coins" (we all know exactly which these are) will take over the old coins?
not necessarily. a coin is valuable if it has useful features.
BTC as the safest and as a currency
ETH as a hyped up platform where you can simply run an ICO and make a lot of money out of thin air for doing nothing
XMR as the anonymous coin that everyone knows and has real anonymity

these don't just go away because a new one came in. you can see how many anon coins are there or how many smart contract platforms that are so much better then ETH are out there but these don't go anywhere.

Quote
(1) For instance, BCH (let's call it old since it is a BTC fork) 4th place is being beseiged by Cardano, XML, New Economy. They just killed LTC, which is dropping like a rock.

(2) DASH has been knocked down by those said coins^ and trampled over by TRX.

(3) Currently, XRP is going to assassinate the king, which is BTC. Will XRP succeed?

all the things you said are market capitalization shenanigans. these coins you mentioned are not going anywhere and coins like LTC and DASH have been pumped recently so it is not their turn to get pumped. after the XRPs and Cardanos and ... were done with their pumps they give their place to others to be pumped like them and the cycle continues.
2628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Slow / Expensive / Unreliable --> LN = Fast / Cheap / Reliable on: January 04, 2018, 08:54:45 AM
They will never acknowledge the fact that the Lightning Network is a much better solution than simply increasing Block sizes. <Bigger Blocks = Centralization>
actually, the lightning network is made Bitcoin centralized

not true.
I am not an expert in lightning network but from what I can see it is a decentralized network no matter what the competitors have been saying on the internet. it uses the same technologies that are currently available in bitcoin such as the scripts and timelock transactions. and you can still run a hub (even now to try and contribute by finding bugs) and when people use LN, you earn fees.
2629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Slow / Expensive / Unreliable --> LN = Fast / Cheap / Reliable on: January 04, 2018, 08:40:51 AM
lightning network also requires a fast and cheaper on chain transactions otherwise opening and closing the channel is going to cost a lot of money.
I disagree that saying with saying "Bigger Blocks = Centralization". there is always a middle ground that we can follow. it doesn't have to be increase to 8 MB and it doesn't have to be staying at 1 MB.

with that said I am very excited and scared about the future of bitcoin for now. with the speed that SegWit adoption has, you can expect LN to have somewhat similar speed. the same services like Coinbase that are blocking SegWit will also block LN. and it may even take a year to reach an acceptable adoption level.

also as far as bitcoin cash goes, I give it a year tops. there are a couple of scenarios that I imagine can happen to it:
it will grow bigger and may increase in price a lot (because how bitcoin is struggling). it will be adopted more just as bitpay said they will support it in their platform soon. and as that happens the blocks reach a fuller state and eventually BCH will be exactly where bitcoin is right now with a lot of angry disappointed people and services. at that time you can't fork to bigger blocks while the blockchain is >500 GB anymore and if they try to implement SegWit + LN or anything remotely similar they announce their failure.
by then bitcoin has its LN up and running and there is no point in using BCH anymore. in any case there is only death for BCH.
2630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I would rather have paper money then Bitcoin on: January 04, 2018, 08:30:04 AM
you went too far in my opinion.
the only characteristic that is missing from bitcoin, and only for a month or two! is low fees. there are lots of other characteristics such as being decentralized which are still intact. so saying "I prefer fiat over bitcoin just because fees are high" is going too far.

and we are all aware of the problems. this is a decentralized network we are using so "we" are responsible for how it is going to be like. right now the accepted scaling solution is SegWit and all the things that will come after it but it is not yet adopted. "we" need to force the services to adopt it anyways we can. for example if you are using Coinbase or blockchain.info start sending them emails requesting to add support for SegWit and if they refused we MUST stop using them.
2631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the future of bitcoin with these high fees? on: January 04, 2018, 08:24:52 AM
well eventually fees will come down. there is no denying that.

because people will either stop using bitcoin and move on which means less transactions and less fees.
or they start using the scaling solutions that were proposed like using SegWit instead of old addresses and with Lightning Network they reduce the transactions on chain. and also hopefully we get a block size increase too so we can have another additional scaling solution. and with all that bitcoin will improve and fees will come down.
2632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice of traders on: January 03, 2018, 09:19:55 AM
2 - then waiting for the doubling, and fix half of coins (we return the initial bet) and continue for free

not every investment doubles in value, waiting for double profit in everything will lead to lots of losses when you miss the profit due to smaller rise and then experience the dumping side of the equation specially in the altcoins.

also you are not gambling, so why are you calling it the "initial bet"?
and you never continue for free when you don't sell all. you are still having some money even if it is profit in the market idle and without any work done on it.
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is heating up again? on: January 03, 2018, 08:58:18 AM
this is yet another resistance test like the last time it happened. each time price rises to test this resistance around $16k-ish and then if it breaks it you can expect the price to rise to ATH and possibly even above. but if it fails to break it price comes down again to a higher low and gets ready for the next round of testing.

hopefully as the holidays end, the price gains more momentum with the traders coming back. additionally the altcoin pumps have left many with more money to invest in bitcoin.
2634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The point is: if you think Bitcoin will be the next global currency... on: January 03, 2018, 08:43:04 AM
if you think Bitcoin will be the next global currency...why are you all dumping it for fiat currency buying Lambos and Nintendo Switch?

1. bitcoin is already a global currency. you can right now send bitcoin to anywhere in the world in less than 10 seconds and have it included in a block in less than 10 minutes on average. this can be sending money to family in your home country, or it can be buying some digital or physical goods.

2. price is still volatile, and bitcoin is still in beta which you may even refer to as an "experiment". the potential is there and many (including me) believe bitcoin will be a lot bigger and adopted more in the future. but this does not eliminate the risks. you always have to invest what you can afford to lose.

3. if you want to buy "Lambos and Nintendo Switch" you have to find someone who is accepting bitcoin as payment and sometimes that is hard, not impossible but hard. so your only option is to sell for fiat and use fiat for that unless you live in Japan LOL.
2635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is dropping ? who can explain me ? on: January 03, 2018, 08:37:50 AM
The Bitcoin may drop because of the fast advent of altcoins. This is competition which affect it's current price. But this is only temporary because new investors will come up and existing investors who are already earning will invest more to gain more income.

I disagree because mostly there is no "competition" and there has never been any competition. altcoins have always been alternatives that traders go to whenever bitcoin price is not rising fast. during times like this they take their money and invest it in altcoins to increase it by making profit from alt pumps. then they come back to bitcoin and invest that money with its profit back into bitcoin.

you seem to be agreeing that it is temporary but you still consider this temporary alt pump as a "competition". care to explain why?
2636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading for beginners ! on: January 03, 2018, 08:30:54 AM
Buying and holding coins.......is that the only strategy that the new traders can follow to make profit ??

where did you get the impression that trading (which translates to buy and sell in any language) means buy and hold!

trading, to put simply means when you buy something at a lower price and then sell it at a higher price. this can be stocks, gold, bitcoin, altcoins or even T-shirts! the principle is the same. sometimes it takes time, sometimes you have to do additional things and it always has risks.
2637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The current market situation !! on: January 02, 2018, 08:23:46 AM
I have won a lot in the past months BTC
But in the last month I suffered heavy losses   Undecided
What do my trading friends tell me to go beyond this difficult period?

there has been no "difficult period" you are just making bad decisions that leads to your losses.

first of all you are using the word "win". I  don't know if it is a language thing or you actually think you are gambling and winning some money based on your trades. in which case you need to stop that and start learning how to trade for real instead of randomly buying coins and hoping you "win" some profit.

as for the period I have to say, the market is actually in a pretty good shape all things considered. bitcoin is slowing down and letting people accumulate more at lower prices before the next rally starts and the altcoins are still getting pumped pretty hard these days. you just have to make sure to invest in them before the pump not after. and most people invest in them after their pumps are over already and expect to "win" profit.
2638  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: want to trade on: January 02, 2018, 08:12:30 AM
This is possible only in the Forex market!
There is no stability on the crypto-currency market and you can lose everything in 1 minute.

I can teach Forex trading, but not for free....
I have been creating my own trading systems for many years.

there is no way you could make 100%-130% per day in Forex market. that is an illogical profit impossible to make in any big and lower risk market.

these types of high profit is only possible in small high risk markets, such as Penny Stocks market and Altcoin markets. specially the altcoins since they are also manipulation due to them not being regulated and being easy to manipulate.
2639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be at least $40,000 Next Year on: January 02, 2018, 08:05:00 AM
predicting a price rise to $40,000 for bitcoin is like making the safest bet ever possible with a high chance of winning. something like a 99% chance of win in this case. because it is like the smallest price that under normal circumstances without any more adoption and with even current investors selling their coins will be reached!

it is like what I used to say back in January 2017 about price in January 2018. I predicated it to be at least $2000 which was the safest bet.
2640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will 2018 Be The Year of Regulations? on: January 02, 2018, 07:57:28 AM
your are kind of demonizing the word "regulation" specially with your picture alone! and I don't get why?!

regulations are not always bad. look at Japan and their regulations that helped push bitcoin from $900 to over $5000 in only a couple of months. and in addition to that it led to hundreds of thousands of merchants accepting bitcoin around every corner in Japan.

what you are saying is a couple of restrictions that are sometimes even necessary to exist in order to prevent crimes such as money laundering. and most of the things you mentioned such as AML/KYC are inevitable since bitcoin and exchanges are tightly involved with fiat!
