3361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: July 30, 2016, 04:18:50 PM
long term profitable = yes.

I don't think anyone can make a profit in the long term from gambling but in the short, term may be yes. If anyone gambler continuously then mostly they will lose money and house will win in the end because gambling needs a luck and that luck will not support every day for gamblers.

Yes that is true that it is not going to be a profitable thing to do in a long term goal if you are going to hope for gambling.

If you are planning to have long term profit better if you are going to invest in a much profitable way like trading or holding.

Because in gambling the chance of losing is much higher than trading or holding.

Agree to this. We should only bet a bankroll that we can afford to lose without any hard feelings in case we lose. Play clever though, if you win and hit your target goal, cashout.
3362  Economy / Economics / Re: How good are you at managing your money on: July 30, 2016, 04:16:31 PM
im great at managing my money, i never spend it on stuff i really dont need and i always just try to make money with the bitcoins i already have
I think frugal and clever in managing money does not mean you do not buy any merchandise. you may purchase any item you like but you have to be
clever in doing limit to buy the goods. may mean buying but you should know the limit to purchase goods should not be wasteful.

I agree that we should buy what we want and need - we pay our self first for the hardwork. But there is a big catch, the ideal way of buying our wants and needs is using the profits from our investments. If we want something, instead of buying it right away, I would rather use the money to invest in whatever legal investments out there and target a profit that I will gonna use to buy what I want and need.
3363  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 30, 2016, 04:13:25 PM
I think I'm going to go with Bitcoins. We have seen the dramatic rise that bitcoin can do. Gold is not something new to be honest. If you have some golds, it would only seem normal for people. They would think that you'd use it to make an accessory like necklace, earrings, rings, etc. And the price of gold doesn't go so high after years.

Bitcoin on the other hand went from a couple of dollars into hundreds of dollars after a few years. And OP said that I get to keep it for 10 years. Imagine buying bitcoins now and imagine the price of bitcoin in the future considering the fact that bitcoin is getting known by a lot of people now.

Gold is really been good since the ancient times and the value of it has been proven through out the years.  But as of now, bitcoin is really something that has going to have potential. But the people are going to have hard time in order to adopt the usage of bitcoin. But I can see that is going to be possible and going to be easy at all.

If we compare bitcoin to gold, then we are the early gold miners in ancient times. Hence, we are at the very best place t mine and hold for future big spike of bitcoin price.
3364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now Everyone is buying on: July 30, 2016, 04:10:31 PM
The price could rise more after the halving, maybe even 12 months after the halving. That happened in 2013.

If the price in fact happens to show a good price increase in the coming months, or even next year, then it has nothing to do with the block halving. It will be a normal upwards price movement. Just forget about the block halving for now. It's history.
i also agree with you halving is just a perception from now on because it is not the real reason why price is keep jumping up it is really the demands and those players who keeps on using it and trading the coin. hoping it will grow more,.

that is right. The driving force behind the bitcoin price is the adoption of the bitcoin. The more people use it, the higher the price.

but nowadays I am seeing a constancy in the demand and supply as I am not seeing any big pumps and dumps and there is a long lived stability, I think we have to promote bitcoin to other people also so that the demand of it increase and with that the price of it will increase.

It is true that there is a little movement to btc but there are already big investors that are coming in and investing in bitcoin. It would be safer to say that there is a probability that it will slowly on the rise of price than going downwards.. But we never know what will happen. For me, I am holding a portion and exchanging it to cash according to my need only, the rest are on hold.

I heard some big investors are moving away from bitcoin to Ethereum:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4va2y8/is_barry_silbert_deliberately_trying_to_deceive/?st=ir8wszqt&sh=dd45a184

hmmm.. this is interesting info, I'll check the link.. thanks Auponef.. I have very big faith to bitcoin that it will stand the test of time and won't give up anytime soon. But doing etherium might be very interesting addition on my exchange because I only use btc and doge for the exchange.
3365  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: largest faucet win you ever made on: July 30, 2016, 04:07:25 PM
When playing with faucet I prefer to hunt high payout. 9900x is my main target. I hit it couple times with full faucet in the past. The largest result was when I hit 9900x 3 times in a week! I collected almost 0.45 BTC at that time. Nowadays, I dont use faucet anymore since primedice decreased my faucet to 200 sat due to the faucet abusers. They increased the minimum wagered for the faucet to start to increase from 1 BTC to 10 BTC.

May I know how much was your faucet in primedice before they implemented the 200 faucet? I would also want to know how much was your average bet when you hit the 9900x 3 times in a week? The reason why I asked that is that, I am trying to hunt that but to no luck at all.
3366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: July 30, 2016, 04:02:49 PM
Anyone here always doing YOLO bets?

I never do that in gambling and I never will. Although your question is actually not an answer to OP's question, but it's true that there are people out there that does YOLO when they bet. For those who didn't know the meaning of it, YOLO stands for You Only Lives Once. Thus, what it connotes in related to gambling is that, you bet all of your bankroll and think that you need to do that because you only live once.

There will be two outcome of YOLO - You win or You lose, period.
3367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: July 30, 2016, 03:58:45 PM
I am still surprised this thread about "gaming being a sickness" is still ongoing. I am pretty sure the OP meant sickness=addiction and everybody here is comparing it to having a disease.
I think sickness way better than addiction, this is something like a possibility that may result to addiction but still this two is not good for you wether the effect is worst or not.
Gambling itself is not really a sickness that you may call. Gambling is a game involving money and that is not a sickness. When we became addicted in gambling that may be considered as a sickness, Addiction is equals to sickness.

I agree to this. Gambling is supposed to be for entertainment. We should all the time treat it that way. Otherwise, it will definitely lead us to depression and sickness.

MY reminder, always have plenty of sessions and have your own system that you can follow with when you do gambling.
3368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing investment on Gambling sites on: July 30, 2016, 03:55:44 PM
I get a headache from reading all this comments. I don't know what most of you thinking about when we say word INVESTMENT. I didn't saw 100 % safe investment in my life, everything is a risk and I saw people lose big money on 99 % chance to win! What we can say after that?
Don't be afraid to lose, that is all what is important. Cause even if you lose all your money that is school, and we need to pay for everything we learn. Smart people rise from ground and try again, other spent their life in desperation and regretting. Choice is on us, but if we don't try we have 0 chances to success.
i agree with you. The only thing that will happen for 100% sure is death, nothing else. You can still lose investments, people are unaware of this

..and to add to that, if you are still young, invest more because you will still have plenty of time to recover in the event you will fail (which will really happen) on your try.
3369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do bitcoin accepted in your country? on: July 30, 2016, 03:53:07 PM
Nope but some people here accept it when we trade,  Well I can just convert my bitcoins to flat
you mean like accepting fiat? because if you trade your bitcoins then it is just an ordinary fiat in my opinion, bitcoin is not accepted in my country and it is a big problem

As a bitcoin user seeing your country not supporting bitcoin is really a big problem dude, that is why i feel so lucky because some merchant is trying to introduce bitcoin in our place

I don't think so that it is a really big problem. People in the country that doesn't support bitcoins are not that used to in transacting bitcoin in the first place. But if that country will accept bitcoins, then it will be an added bonus for its constituents.

In my case, I only use bitcoin in gambling, trading, and exhange online - thus, whether or not my country would accept bitcoin, it doesn't really matters to me.
3370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: July 30, 2016, 03:46:49 PM
Therefore you should choose the right gambling game for you that would give you so much entertainment when playing it so you would not look for any gambling games that would make you bored and you can shift your focus into money.
Well, I think gamblers will always do it, they will look for a game that they can entertain them so much, cause gambler really want an entertainment and at the same time, they also want to win huge money. These are also the things that make gamblers get addicted in gambling.

Gamblers wont go back or wont be addicted in gambling if they always loses. That is how smart casinos are, they gives you chances of winning big amounts that keeps you coming back for more

This makes sense. Most of my friends that gambles always had big winnings and of course there are also losses. If you just lose all the time, then there is really no point of coming back.
3371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: July 30, 2016, 03:44:01 PM
Gambling is meant to be fun and give you a small chance of getting big money, like a lottery ticket. It is meant to be fun, not to make your rich and fix your life, or be something that can wreck your life.

Gambling might cost less than others forms of entertainment if you do it right, even if you lose  Grin

some people may being greed or being attract by big winner so they will spend their money to try out their luck.

This is sad but true. I am heavy t gambling now but I always see to it that I will not be emotionally affected as I only play bankroll that I can afford to lose. I also have my system of betting that I followed and built many sessions to have more chances to get profit at the end of the day.
3372  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: July 30, 2016, 03:40:25 PM
i think it is probably true, that you can just invest and don not use it as a currency, but this hardly works the other way around.
if you want to use it as a currency but hold to it when the price is to low, then this is also some kind of investing. if you just use it without looking at the exchange rate, then i would say you just use it as a currency. but it is not that easy to use it as a currency since a lot of the bitcoin payable services available are investment related.

One additional example Senor.Bla is when a person just use bitcoin to gamble on online casinos that pays bitcoins, then he is using bitcoin as a currency. For all I know, the reason why fiat money are now called currency is because when its price value is no longer fixed - when the value of let's say a dollar will not be the same like 20-30 years from now.
3373  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: July 30, 2016, 03:24:32 PM
Buy $100 Bitcoins, just in case

Probably be a millionaire, because I'm sure Bitcoin would rebound sooner or later
and what if the price does not grow any more and goes down to 1 cent per bitcoin? i think there would be still anything possible so it would be better to be careful

With the recent stability of bitcoin price and investment of big investors in the bitcoin industry, I doubt that it will to 1 cent per bitcoin anytime soon. But yes, anything could happen and there is really no certainty in this world.
3374  Other / Archival / Re: Do you have paypal account even though you have bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 03:21:36 PM
Yes, I still have paypal even if I have a bitcoin wallet, I use it in different transaction that don't involve bitcoin... I am using it because not all that I am receiving is bitcoin, I sometimes receive dollars sometimes, so, my paypal account still have a use.

Even I am using both PayPal and Bitcoin. I need PayPal to pay at places that don't yet accept Bitcoin and when I would like to at least keep my debit card info safe by not inputting it directly on checkout at dubious sites. I do have to admit though that PayPal is great for purchasing things but not for selling as there are dishonest buyers who can take advantage of the PayPal dispute system.

Totally agree with the benefits of paypal for buying and the cons for selling. It is very easy for paypal to limit your account or even close it if there are disputes filed against you.
3375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: July 30, 2016, 03:18:33 PM
i do not think that people hate bitcoin because maximum people adopt the bitcoin .

You are very wrong, there are still many people out there who hate bitcoin and they always find fault systems that exist in the bitcoin and after that they launched a campaign against the black of the error. It is very dangerous for the survival of the bitcoin, but I think more people are curious against bitcoin then it will positively impact against us

As long as bitcoin will hold its ground and the people investing to it, bitcoin will stand against haters and those people (government, if there is) no matter what. I have full faith to bitcoin and I am holding.
3376  Other / Archival / Re: Where you get Bitcoin ? on: July 30, 2016, 03:16:20 PM
I get my Bitcoin from my signature campaign that I do on here, some freelance jobs I do occasionally on various sites (primarily writing jobs and similar) and some other work I do that is primarily sourced through this board. It's relatively small amount compared to what I hear from other people on this board (and compared to my fiat income) but I get to do stuff so I don't care.

Signature campaign taking so much time and bring to worker very little money, people should understand that they need to find better work than signature campaign.
Yeah if you do that for living it will not enough at least you have to have another job so that the earning of the campaign's signature can be used as a long term investment.

I am just starting with signature campaign and my plan of my earnings here is to just hold the coins until I can. I have other ways of getting bitcoins and signature campaign is one of them. I know that signature campaign, especially at my level here in bitcointalk community, pays not that big but if I sum them all up in the long run, they will eventually grow.
3377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: July 30, 2016, 03:13:32 PM
I play on poker stars, and it is pretty safe, I guess

If you are good and have the best skill in playing poker, then you have greater chances of winning. This kind of game is not based on pure luck alone, it  is combined with both luck and skill. However, the most skillful player will have more chances of winning though.
3378  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: July 30, 2016, 03:11:00 PM
i think i will start trading through 10btc because trading is the good way to earn more bitcoin.

I firmly believe that we should not put all of our eggs in one basket. Therefore, I would rather diversify that 10 btc to different investment channels and hold a certain percentage of it for the future. If we only invest all of our coins into one investment channel, then we are at big risk if that investment will fall - better to diversify.
3379  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 03:02:17 PM
Bitcoin will always be just a side income to me and I will never ever quit my day job. I can see a big future with bitcoin but it will still my only source of extra income. I'll earn more with my job today + earning bitcoin online, and that makes me happy onmy daily life.

Yes, that extra boost that Bitcoin provides can be helpful for dealing with miscellaneous expenses.
You need a stable job to take care of regular expenses.

Agree with this. This is one of the safest ways to earn a stable income - day job. In my case right now, I stopped my day job and focus on working in gaining bitcoins. You know what, I treat my new endeavor as a day job also and is now slowly growing in gain. I am very confident also that very soon, I will double my income now from what I usually earn in my day job.

I don't advice my move because it is really risky. I think and prayed many times before my first bold move to venture bitcoin and stopped my day job.
3380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: July 30, 2016, 02:54:58 PM
There is no such thing as strategy when it comes to gambling, it is all based on luck of the draw.
Either you have or you don't, it is as simple as that. Angry

That's right, there is no good strategy in gambling, winning on dice is all depends on your luck.. Sometimes strategies are just made by those who wants to escape the truth that they can't win and relieve their stress while betting, it's more like a placebo.  Cheesy

Creating more sessions coupled with a system of pre-planned betting give you more chances of winning than just randomly bet because you think everything is pure luck. This is bad, that is the reason why many people lost a lot because of random betting and no system in paced.
