Make sense.
yeah, in the past, I was just tracking my expenses and it was kind of reactive rather than proactive.
This time, I want to plan ahead my expenses through budgeting.

I do it manually I don't use any tools to do it,
I make plans and divide all my salary on a piece of paper and try to go along with it.
Of course there are times when I would be force to overspend my money because of some emergencies.

Similarly, I do budget but I'm not a freak. I just use an excel to keep record of my expenses so I can plan properly. When I started budgeting I kept record of all my expenses but now I know more or less what I spend. I only revise and write down expenses on certain categories if my spending habits change or when I believe prices have gone up more than 10% in that category, as I always budget a 10% extra of what I usually spend.

OP, you say you are budgeting because your personal finance is not that good but you would be surprised about how many people keep budgeting even after year of being in a comfortable position.

@boyptc has already shared the link in which might help you with this, But the Basic Rule In Budgeting is never Look about how much the Incoming funds ,Instead Spend only 70% of it and the remaining 30% will be allocate for the Future of the Children and your retirement. and do this at any cause .If you and wifey survive that set up for 5 years ,then your Family will be safer forever .

Welcome back buddy.

Yeah I am budgeting for a while now. The corona pandemic are very difficult times and living on a budget helps me do save some money. I don't use any specific software, just an excel sheet. It's an easy way to keep track of my expenses without much work.

It is really important to do a budget, especially in these trying times. It would be very irresponsible to just spend your hard-earned money on things that are not important and especially if you have a family of your own already.

Thank you for the warm welcome Smiley

Yes, we need to get into budgeting when we have a family of our own - I got 2 boys and 1 is coming comes August.
Good that you are helping each other hand in hand with your wife.

Happy New Year!

Good to see you back Mate ,and welcome again in Bitcointalk.

Having a Family of our Own is really a budget requiring living , And this why i thanks mY wife alot.

We have no Sheet to Follow because I am a solo provider , But we constantly talk about the flow of the funds , i let her Handle all the expenses daily for household things and i am the one for everything outside ,Like Bills and groceries ,and the Material needs of all.

I will provide groceries  that will be budgeted for 3 days ,and My Wife will make it happen.

Sometimes belt needs tighten but we are surviving ,So i believe that Ledger/sheets not needed if you know how to manage your needs ,and only the priority will be funded ..

Hi boyptc, how are you?
We've been in 777coin signature campaign way back then Smiley

Thanks for the resources. I will be checking Walley in the resource you provided.
At the moment, I have heavily invested with YNAB and AspireBudget but if Walley can do with my needs, that would be perfect.

Good to see you again!

Welcome back to the forum.

Usually, I just have my own written list for budgeting. The usual and old style. But you can search for apps online aside from ynab because there is a lot of them.

9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which token do you advise me to invest? on: December 29, 2020, 07:54:59 AM
Dogecoin is very cheap right now, if you invest half of your money, you can potentially earn a bigger profit in 4 months to a year from now. Try to check the stats of dogecoin, it goes 100+ every other 4 months to a year.

I am coming back to crypto now and I will also be looking into buying dogecoin in my poloniex account and have it rest for at least 4 months.

There is a risk involved though.

Hi all,

I want to invest 77,000 USDT of my portfolio in a single project that probably has great potential .

Personally, without having done a lot of research I am leaning towards Zilliqa (Zil) and Vechain (Vet)... What do you think about it?

Otherwise what do you advise me ?

Thank you  Smiley

Hi guys,

I was very active in this forum 2 years ago and now I'm back Smiley
So excited about how the forum is now and looking forward to meeting old and new faces here.

I stopped with crypto 2 years ago when I was offered a good job outside crypto and is doing well until the pandemic Sad (SAD)

Since finance is not that great, I am now doing a budget. So that every money I have is spent wisely.

To those who are already budgeting, may I know what tool are you using?

Currently, I am on the free trial of YNAB but I am also using AspireBudget free google spreadsheet.

I am confused between the two.

I love the interface of YNAB and I am comfortable paying its yearly fee but on the other hand, I am thinking of using that fee for some of my other budgets, hence, aspirebudget would be ideal.

Please help me decide and if you also have other recommendations, please let me know. IMPORTANT: I want zero-based budgeting as I find it works for me.

Thank you so much guys and more power!

14  Other / Off-topic / How do you motivate yourself? or you DON'T? on: July 06, 2019, 01:54:47 AM
Hi guys!

I am from a long vacation in this forum - was focusing on client projects outside bitcoin.
The reason being was that the price of bitcoin was too low and I need to feed my growing little family.
In short, I was demotivated and find another way to earn money.

Now I will surely back because the price BTC is soaring high again.

To those who stayed and hold since then, I am just wondering how do you motivate yourself guys to hold the line? or you don't have to motivate yourself and just continue on.

I was out on my 777coin campaign (there was an issue then - long delay of payout) and I am now searching for new signature campaigns that have an open position and accept Sr. Member - Please send me a recommendation if you know of one.

Thank you guys and more power!

Prominent Chinese media houses love Bitcoin and believe that the number one cryptocurrency is a safe haven asset given rising tensions in the socio-political relations among global economic powerhouses....read more

Liking this progress - although the Chinese government does not really in full support of bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies for that matter, the industry should be thriving as the very reason bitcoin was made in the first place is to be revolutionary and does not work the way fiat does.

What will you do if after losing several times in gambling, you are left with only small amount of money and that money will be for your fuel or for transportation, will you still continue with the little you are left with? What if you lose?
That is more than stupidity to spend for another round or betting, dont expect for luck in that case when you have not made any winning from the start, always remember that gambling must be a second prior in our life so better go a ride and drop by in the nearest gasoline station then have a gas and go home 🏠

Perhaps, we need to stop for a while, and as you said, it's better to go home and take a rest and don't forget to eat something. We can come back to the other day, and we don't have to push ourselves to keep playing while we don't know where is the luck. Accepting your lose in that day, don't regret the loss, take a deep breath and then walk away from the place is the best thing you can do.

There is always tomorrow. Don't die gambling and no stopping, that is over addiction. you can call it a day when you lost several sessions and just play the next day. The reason is that you just too exposed and emotionally drain that you will have a greater tendency of rage betting.

One thing which i noticed and want to share that during fallen markets if you gamble with btc and lose it then it is fine but when the market may rise and if you gamble with btc and lose it then you would regret later that today btc may be at 3500$ and in next few months if it crosses 10k you made a big blunder you may feel it.

that is really the natural feeling of each gambler who gambles.
as they have said, but at the bottom as it is for sale right now and you can have big bankroll and then just play as you want - when you win and hold the money until the price goes up, you will be happy and win you lose at the current price, it wont affect much of your happiness. s
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The key reason for gambling on: December 11, 2018, 06:21:02 PM
I realize this question was probably raised before, but I believe that the answers might be changing with time, because bitcointalk community grows and because the interests and needs of people can become different in years. I recall a video on addiction that explained that people mainly become addicted because of feeling sad and lonely. When I made a thread about whether gamblers think that gambling addiction has the same reason, the answers differed a lot. Now I am curious what kind of people are gambling here. Are they mainly looking for money, excitement, socialization? Please vote and leave a comment below in case you want to add something to your answer.

Each of us has different reasons why we gamble. Some people gamble just for fun and thrill. Some gamble because it's their hobby, or it's their way of relieving stress. Some are gambling because they are addicted to it. Whatever the reason is, all of us has one goal in gambling, it is to win.

that is right, the goal of each player is to win no matter what the reason why he/she is gambling.
but at the end of the day, the real winners are not the most of winning but the most of having fun.
