Is RC4 working properly ?
That's the puzzling thing about it. RC4 is actually ok with darksend round = 1. The price drop surprised me. Shitty timing... its been a bloodbath week for lots of cryptos... though in the big picture of 12 month cycle... not to bad...maybe except for ltc. im still way up... and that is why... long term investing in fundamentals always wins.  Its not just the timing. Its the non-existing outlook. Markets always need something to look out for, some kind of phantasy. That's what makes them advance. For instance if RC4 would have announced as a fixed date and time, we would have seen a much bigger price rally. People would have set up countdown timers, tweets about upcoming RC4 would have been made etc etc THATS whats drives markets! You need always to deliver outlooks! At the moment we have no outlook BEYOND RC4. The market recognizes that we will soon have a working anon, nevertheless: "What comes next?" No matter what comes next it should be communicated early. OUTLOOK boys, thats all that matters in markets. Outlook BEYOND RC4. The outlook is ip obfuscation I doubt you will be able to build a rally upon that. Strengthen the anonymity further is good but thats not whats been looked after at the moment. We need some phantasy/goal BEYOND a good and working anonymity. Whats comes next? |

evan hatte gestern schon angekündigt das RC4 montag oder dientag kommen wird. von dem her wirds wohl kein fake sein.
die frage ist eher ob der kurs darauf überhaupt positiv (oder negativ) reagieren wird? gut möglich das gar nichts passiren wird und dann aus enttäuschung 0.005 als nächstes anstehen.

Die 200k werden unter den Glübigern aufgeteilt. Das ganze kommt dann mit Fiat Schulden und Co auf ca 20% Resterstattung in BTC. Über die Bühne geht as ganze Ende 2015. |

ETF ist ein "Spekulationstool"
Eben nicht. Ein "Spekulationstool" wären Optionen oder Futures (diese können übrigens einen Kurs auch stabilisieren). Ein ETF muss schlicht und ergreifend jeden an der Nasdaq gekauften BTC real hinterlegen und bildet somit quasi eine "Brücke" zwischen Börsen wie Bitstamp,OTC-Handel und der "echten" Finanzwelt. |

Not really, huobi and okcoin have mostly fake volumes. Biggest platform are bitstamp&bitfinex then btcchina. Not saying that huobi and okcoin has to be ignored (we are adding them very soon ) but their volumes has to be taken as half fake.
I avoid calling it "fake" volume, but I agree. The current (daily) leg of the capitulation is, in my opinion, mainly driven by Bitfinex - not really a surprise, given the huge built-up leveraged long positions that Blitz highlighted in his post ages ago. Despite their daily volume still being dwarfed by the Chinese exchanges. So that's further evidence for those of us who believe that, while CNY volume might be "real", it is simply less relevant, per dollar, being largely automated, zero fee volume. Ich habe, angefangen mit der Aktienhausse Ende der 90er, schon etliche Bubbles erlebt. Momentan sind wir Stimmungstechnisch weit von einer euphorischen Stimmung entfernt. Ich würde uns tatsächlich eher in die Nähe der "Final Capitulation" setzen. Imo erleben wir gerade immernoch die Auswirkungen der Gox-Pleite. Es fehlt eine globale vertrauenswürdige Exchange welche es schafft auch komplette Bitcoin-Noobs zu animieren. Das Vertrauen in die Exchanges wieder herzustellen dürfte eine Weile dauern. Das Gox-Desaster haben auch Leute mitbekommen welch rein garnichts mit Bitcoin zu tun hatten bisher. Doch es gibt auch positive Ausblicke: Wall Street. Sollte die Anbindung per ETF an die Nasdaq bekanntgegeben werden dürfte das eine Rally auslösen. Institutionelle Investoren stehen momentan Schlange um über einen seriösen Weg Bitcoins in grossem Stil erwerben zu können. Bestes Beispiel: die Silkroad-Auktion. Sobald ein seröser Weg bereitet ist um grosse Summen sicher in Bitcoin anzulegen knallt der Kurs durch die Decke. |

Wow, I'm not happy at all.
libdb changes have destroyed all of my wallet.dat files. I have no DRK.
Ran into the issue before. Use -salvagewallet Should repair it. Then tranfer all to new wallet. Make sure your using libdb 4.8 --salvagewallet fails and creates a wallet.[timestamp].bak file. apt seems to think I have no berkley libdb installed at all... Other wallet.dat files work fine... I can't deal with this shit now. Nothing but bad news all week. It's actually LESS of a problem to write DRK off as a loss than deal with this right now. There's no reason for it. dpkg -l "libdb" then purge them. I'm way too stressed out before this happened. I don't trust myself. About zero brain function. Fuck it. Don't play with money when stressed or tired, just leave it alone and come back later. All DRKs lost. No hope of recovery. Are you serious? Don't you literally have thousands of coins, and you don't have a backup or the keys printed out? I can't believe that. The backups were destroyed, too. It's fucking unbelievable. It's like wallet.dat files were targeted on a drive that wasn't even powered up. External USB drive, encrypted. Everything on it is intact, except the backups of my wallet.dat files. Relax and take a break before doing more harm. Harddisk specialist gather data from broken disks after months. Maybe those files can be fixed by someone. |

How to get companies to adopt is key. i remember evan saying that he has media at his hands. lets see what the coming weeks bring. kristofs review could help too. but apart from that the last rc2/3 fiaskos destroyed some positive sentiment that has to be gained again. |

Sag doch sowas nicht!  Ja, ich weiss...  Eventuell wirds schon besser laufen, aber ich hab vorsorglich dennoch schonmal ein paar DRKs auf Mintpal gebracht. |
