3381  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-03] All Markets Eye Tax Bill Debate; IRS Fishing Expedition Targets BTC on: December 15, 2017, 10:17:25 AM
The current tax bill which will go into effect in the USA does not allow "like kind' anymore on Crypto.

This means that when I xfered LTC to BTC and did like kind exchange (shapeshift.io a like-kind exchange) I was supposed to keep track

In that most of my crypto transactions, were simply to pay bills or get equip from A to B and not on the exchange long...this will be minimal for me

for those folk trading between crypto on like-kind exchanges you could be in for a world of hurt

in that IF the tax law is signed in 2016 it APPLIES to 2016....

I used www.bitcoin.tax free site options to see what I did mining simply by plugging my BTC, LTC, and DASH

mining addresses in.....so that is taken care of

but I don't do excel...so can't get the format right to get a CVS file of in /out transactions (even thou most were only a few

days to get equip or hoard a month for equip buy) .... so if anyone looks into this and can figure out this simple excel

field names from their example feel free to post here or PM me for a BTC or LTC tip!

anyway.....this is gonna suck for some folk

brad

(luckily, kept only 3 mining addresses all year and I can do this by hand..but the bitcoin.tax site looks pretty slick ...even thou

I can't seem to figure out some of it!...at least I verified my by hand mining income was correct...before I choked) Smiley

3384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: December 14, 2017, 09:08:29 AM
Bitmain $2064 delivering in March? Really?

heh...damn hard to charge 40 LTC for them like they did in ..what was it Sept 2017?

40 LTC 2.08 USD (time: as I type this) = $12,083.20 for THREE of them that would be 120 LTC

for $36,249.60 lol Smiley

oops!

damn, who'd a thunk it?

this gonna be damn hard for me to get motivated to buy more asic equip of any flavor.....when I run down my ROI'd stuff into doorstops

the old crypto to miners bet I've won at the past 4 years...is not gonna cut it anymore!

which does not look likely into, well into, 2019

if they don't brick themselves before then that is!

addicting this ATH smash game!

3386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL]Prohashing – Professional cryptocurrency mining made simple on: December 13, 2017, 09:27:53 AM
On the subject of great cusomer service....

by the by I was the only one that lost hash on Nov 8th and 9th...I did not put a ticket in until a week later..in that I saw it was just me...after I figured that out!

just got a reply from PH they credited me $200 at the 8th and 9th rates in LTC...so $912 buck gain in today's $$$ for my 2-day $200 buck loss mining

they paid me in my payout in LTC I would have earned (100% payout always in LTC..glad I've done that!) for those days in crypto also (my choice 100% LTC)

you can't knock their customer service....they also took my word for this ...and of course could see for whatever reason the 2-day drop

as I pointed out in profits ($100 or so at the time each day) on my setup and bar graphs of my miners etc

Anyway, they could have done the 'easy' route and paid me only the $200 I made in USD that day...that did not show up..they instead credited the LTC lost!

On a side note, this first question on what happened those 2-days, was sent to Steve first, he said he was not aware of any issues...and said he would forward it to Chris...

anyway...just in case....thus I kinda forgot about it

...Chris looked it over...saw the two-day blip down for whatever reason..took my word I had my machines up as per usual and Chris gave me the refund in LTC lost!

So this was more than a bit unexpected.....more than a month later!

Prohashing is a class act!

Thanks, Chris! and Steve!

just an FYI, for anyone with a similar *why, is it just me* moment on a glitch....of this nature...report it promptly it indeed may just be you!

The site is also more stable now, even with my evil KNC Titans and L3+'s which the site still does not like too much are more or less on task with a bit of slip....

but they are making progress, with the new equip etc

thanks again! Really appreciate it!

Searing

3387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (Review/Guide) BW.com BW-L21, 550 Mh/s, 950W Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner on: December 13, 2017, 09:19:31 AM
I used to mine at Nicehash.

I'm now mining at Prohashing.com

to tell you the truth...I'm not sure if www.prohashing.com now is doing any better than www.litecoinpool.org

at 101% payout and no fees.

using this calc (which has 101% built-in) www.litecoinpool.org/calc

With bitconnect no longer a POW coin and everyone piling into LTC...it may be a draw!

I used to make 15% to 20% more a day on prohashing..but them days seem to be gone ....

Yeah it is all changed now that LTC price went up big time.

I might look at my strategy again and go mining LTC.

again..the only way to really test this is take an L3+ on each and compare....but too lazy..... Smiley

may have to re-think this as well...still on PH

so if it is oranges and oranges between litecoinpool and prohashing I will likely stay with prohashing...my bet since sept 2017 was ALL

my miners x11 / scrypt-pow all paid out 100% in LTC....damn..I nailed that

what freaks me out about LTC proportionally and historically LTC price to BTC price it could go over 1,000 usd per LTC and still not

break that framework arrangement at 17k btc!

befuddled as usual on what the hell is going on (normal operating procedure last 4 years...you'd think I'd get used to this and adapt!.

3388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC above 150 USD in February 2018? on: December 12, 2017, 11:59:16 AM
Litecoin really shocked many of us with this huge rise in the last week. People were not expecting it to reach these number in that short time. People who did not give up in litecoin are happy as hell now. Next question can it keep going up like this. If it can keep it up 500 USD is not that far. We need to wait and see.

I was hording as much as I can from mining since Sept 2017, I figured proportional to BTC price this was possible from historical link between BTC and LTC prices...but figured

it would be $250 an LTC by about Spring 2018.

Now, I'm completely befuddled

(just sent 3.75 LTC for a bill ..it was equivalent to $659.37 or some such....I mean really, Nov 1st LTC was like 52 bucks or some such...hell it was $4.15 before April 2017!)

3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool (litecoinpool.org) on: December 12, 2017, 11:56:42 AM
just looked at pool since 2014

12,630 or some such LTC mined...over 3 million dollars!

pooler, why did you not save me from myself? Than again LTC was under $4 from then until about

april 2017 more or less...

I mean, ouch!

silly hobby!
3390  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 12, 2017, 11:51:29 AM
I am waiting for your review with impatience Smiley

Even if these guys are legit (or bitmain had product the last month) you should NOT buy product at this time imho,

The price of LTC, for example, was $54.58 Nov 1st.....now the price as of Dec 12th, 2017 is $269.01

thus even if you ordered this or the last bitmains this year. or these units when announced, you'd have been a LOT better off holding LTC

I mean, this treads start date on these units was November 22nd, 2017 for crying out loud...if you'd ordered then and just got them

you'd be sobbing now!

(yep, me too got 2 bitmain D3 x11 miners..about 4k..shot...so I too am not immune to stupid)

so be careful what you wish for on a 2 to 3-month pre-order...you may surely get it!

3391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC above 150 USD in February 2018? on: December 12, 2017, 11:42:21 AM
I am speechless after seeing litecoin's latest rally. My cousin directly called me to look at it and I am shocked. Looks like litecoin is still in business, not in dying process.

I of little faith back in 2014-till 2017...swap'd or spent LTC for BTC etc

thus looked at litecoinpool stats 12,630 LTC mined (not even current I"m on prohashing)

so that comes out to at $3 million something

of course 99.998% of us did the same (including the founder of LTC  Charlie Lee)

of course the vast majority of that time ..even up to spring of 2017 the price of LTC was under $4

ah well, at least I'd been hoarding since September 2017

sheesh

3392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC above 150 USD in February 2018? on: December 12, 2017, 07:59:11 AM
Man, I cannot catch up with the LTC price Smiley I first had a topic asking whether LTC would be 100 USD. It passed it, and I had this topic on whether LTC would be 150, and it is 250 USD now!!!
Here is my next topic:  LTC above 1000 USD in February 2018?

I'm mining and holding LTC since about Sept 2017...thus was thinking 300 buck LTC by say March 2017?

now, if you are correct, I will be sooooo happy, the shock will likely kill me!

befuddlement, how I lurch thru the crypto universe.....
3393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: December 12, 2017, 07:55:54 AM
their assumptions have been destroyed. Bitcoin flying prices now show that Bitcoin is very strong and for now no one can beat it.
I could not agree more. Bitcoin cash is not as good as its hyped price and people keeping it are losing money against bitcoin.
Serves them right for trying to support pathological liars like Roger and Jihan.

Some of the 'tactics' are mining. I had a buddy pm me that he is making $5 a day now with a 2014 KNC 3TH Neptune Miner on BCH. Thus, it is a way, IMHO, for big china miners and others,

(and of course, bitmain using ASIC boost for 15% more profits, which does not work with seg witness BTC anymore), as a way to get some mining use out of their older ROI'd machines

longer. Long term, they are simply going to get BTC or other alts with BCH when even that does not work anymore.....and this game can't be played anymore, pretty obvious how BCH

is being used, and why all the FUD against BTC. Toss in the spam on the BTC network to drive up transaction fees for users to miners and we are talking some real $$$. Funny how the spam

all went away this last summer/fall when folk thought segwit2 had a shot. (silly, funny, hairless, primate, naked, humans..tossing poo.....its a wonder anything works)

usual games rinse/wash/repeat

3394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 07:50:56 AM

Meanwhile, cost on Bitcoin bCash? Less than two pennies. Plus its being discussed on national financial news. Litecoin? Not so much.

I question whether I should quote the diagram for your little Bcash pump scheme... I fixed the spelling for you above.

You are engaging in Bcash pumping in a bitcoin thread... what is your purpose?

You think that is a relevant topic?

Of course, you don't really believe in bcash because otherwise you would sell all of your bitcoin and invest in bcash and participate in the bcash discussions and promote your stupid-ass little sabotage coin..... but instead, you won't sell your bitcoin , and you just want to complain about bitcoin, spam the bitcoin network, and then make up shit that your little sabotage coin is better or to try to suggest that it is the real bitcoin, and that is why you refuse to call it by its less ambiguous name.

Maybe it is hope, hope, hope, and maybe you will get lucky?    But I think even the public at large understands that bcash is not going to become the new bitcoin, and that could be part of the reason that some money is flowing into litecoin because no one (except for a few nutjob zealots or some confused folks) wants to put any of their money into sabotage coin, right?

3395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lisk ICO Scam on: December 12, 2017, 07:40:43 AM
I had long suspected it!
Often asked to provide audit results, but no answers came Sad
Very sad.

Why you reviving a dead thread? look at the date of those posts.

Not sure what the OP did with his 2 BTC of Lisk on the ICO ...likely sold it

However, I got talked into 'reluctantly' getting 1 BTC worth of LISK on the ICO. BTC was exactly $475 USD

I think I figured. So that came out to 6,248.30 Lisk at the time. (currently staking lisk and gaining 40 Lisk a month,

maybe a bit less now...more or less, was 40 lisk a month, last I looked)

Thus with staking (came to that late), I'm at 6,331.35 lisk from that ICO of 1 BTC and staking....at current coin index chart price of $8.53 usd. (as of this moment)

do the math...best 1 BTC investment I ever did.....so if the OP kept his 2 BTC he doubled the above amount in profits.

Sometimes the blind squirrel finds the nut!

These D3 was wrong investment. It was my novice fault.
3 companies released X11 miners almost at once.
Quantity of X11 coins compared to scrypt coins is nothing.
DASH rewards only 45% to miners.
DASH will keep TX fees as low as possible, I think if price of DASH will be higher they probobly lower tx fees again which is good for DASH but not for us.
DASH itself is nothing unique. Masternodes => fees ? IOTA => zero fees. Private send ? check Monreo, Vertcoin, ZCash...... Litecoin will implement privacy too.
I do not cry. This is only a notice for people willing to buy a new D4+++ which will be uselles in time of arrival.

Maybe we should form a miner alliance and talk to the Dash Devs about that.

We'd have a better shot and be more useful to mankind ...to talk to the SETI folk and mod them for that use.....

(yeah, I know, not possible...but damn it would be great to use these 2 D3 units I have for something interesting after Jan 1st 201

future doorstops that they are Sad

I can't wait to see these people bite every last piece of profits to negative.

sigh...I suppose by 'these people' you mean me...yeah...true...on the other hand hoarding LTC since September seems to be working well Smiley

you win some, you lose some and gain doorstops!

Food for thought: you are going to see vendors start switching from taking bitcoin to litecoin. The average fee today for a bitcoin transaction was $21. For litecoin 27 cents. Vendors are getting stuck bitcoin transactions and are no longer willing to deal with it. Why do you think the price of litecoin is going through the roof?

Litecoin is a junk fork, its only use is salvaging your money from bitfinex and ripping off people.

transaction fees ...the huge diff in transaction fees...moving BTC to and fro...vs LTC to an fro

IN that currently, LTC is faster and has all the hooks of the current seg witness etc that BTC has

gonna be hard to ignore LTC for purchases vs BTC if this price of LTC holds or grows

just saying,
