No strategy is bad if it works! If someone "is buying the dip" a moment after the bubble burst, he is stupid or does not know what he is doing - so is stupid.  The trading strategy should be choosen to the market phase. If someone does not know how to use them, and does so, then we can call him a fool. In many market phases "buying the dip" can be very good choice. I agree. The idea of buying in dip is not for fool people because fool do not get in the market, they are people who wants to gain from lose. They want to buy rather than selling which can help for the price to grow because they will hold for that. Buying in dip is an opportunity to them to get huge volume and sell it when it worth good. That decision won't be done by a fool but a person who is making strategy on how to earn bitcoin. |

I have just one advice for you and that advice is in a single word. I know you may not like it but I feel it should be your best bet looking at the current state of the market. HODL!
When you are losing, you might choose to cut your lose because you can buy more cheaper from it also. Trading might help you but you have to understand the movement of the market. You can explain that on your wife by telling how volatile the market. You buy at higher price expecting that it going much higher and make you rich but it differently happen. Holding is what you do and buy at this dip and make it profit. |

First mover in smart-contract platforms. Also every coin that does well on ethereum makes ethereum do well. With the idea that smart-contract platforms could break open trillion dollar markets the valuation isn't completely ridiculous. It might be early however and there are some decent alternatives.
Ethereum is special that way that every platforms are supported by it. This is something very good positive move for crypto currency market. I think the spike will be maintained for another few weeks to make crypto market stabilize or if the price goes down then the market will again bleed. There are many factors for this price rise and the price rise should not stop here and there is more and more to got for crypto market and especially Bitcoin.
We cannot compare the bull run last 2017 on today because they are differ. But this proves that bitcoin still have potential to grow in the future. How can people calm down? They bought themselves into something they only thought could increase in value. It doesn't. They are disappointed.
It may sound harsh, but there is no infinite amount of coins that will be sold, and the sooner people sell, the sooner the market will be able to find a way up again. Free money doesn't exist. All those who thought to become rich overnight ended up with less money instead of more. It's an expensive life lesson. Don't invest in something you don't know shit about.

I also promoted bitcoin to my family but I make them decide to invest with it. Even to my friends I do the same.
