Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.

Why do we associate gambling with pride? I think we can't pride ourselves because we are gamblers. Everyone knows that gambling is a person's choice when they grow up and it is their own choice. This is the same as you choosing to drink alcohol. Gambling can make you addicted. And alcohol can make you very drunk and you will do things that violate the law. So when you decide to gamble, it means you are responsible for yourself. I personally don't like it when many people know I gamble, even when I win the jackpot. I think not everyone will have the responsibility of gambling like me.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 15, 2024, 04:28:44 AM

How do we regulate our emotions while betting and how important is it?

I think that would be very important. Wise gamblers are those who can regulate their emotions while gambling. We are not robots who can play without emotion. But we must be able to regulate our emotions so that attitudes such as overconfidence, greed and FOMO can be controlled well so that you will not experience losses and become addicted to gambling. I think what we are talking about here is about reducing the impact of gambling addiction caused by us not being able to regulate our emotions. One way is that you can make several rules that you must obey. That will minimize your emotions controlling your betting.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: March 14, 2024, 09:50:09 AM

One way to approach gambling while acknowledging the underlying uncertainty is to consider it in terms of probability. Rather than seeking for a certain outcome, examine the likelihood of various outcomes and base your decisions on those probabilities. This will help you control your expectations and prepare for the chance of losing.

Yes I agree with you. It is better to bet on predictions that we have made ourselves, rather than betting on predictions made by other people even if they claim to be prediction experts. I enjoy betting more if I guess on my own. I try to look at probabilities, game history, and other factors that I look for myself. Then I place a bet and enjoy the game. It will be fun if it turns out your bet is correct. I'm not a gambler who wants big wins or jackpots. I just gamble for fun and as a responsible gambler I don't think we can rely on prediction experts to make your decisions.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 14, 2024, 09:40:05 AM

Give me the 1BTC and let me go with it. No one is a perfect predictor and if you’re to predict the outcome of an event, no one is perfect and you can lose this golden opportunity forever. If this offer comes for me like five times or more, I will continue chosen it over gambling to get an higher amount which is not a certainty for me to win. Even I have been a good predictor, for that day, I won’t allow greed to overcome me to lose the opportunity, I will take my 1BTC and leave.

You are right and I agree with you. We cannot think that 5 BTC is better than 1 BTC because you will definitely get 1 BTC but you still have a 50:50 chance of getting 5 BTC. Of course it would be nice if it turns out you can actually get 5 BTC but I personally wouldn't risk my 1 BTC for 5 BTC. Give me 1 BTC and I will trade in futures or spot. I will trade the right amount and the rest I will invest in altcoins. 1 BTC can really be useful for many things. And I would rather bet on futures than bet 5 BTC at the start.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 14, 2024, 09:26:05 AM
Just for discussions and ways to educate or share knowledge with ourselves when and how to draw the line when gambling,  because for some reasons, some gamblers have arrived at unstable realities because of the lack of stoppage time while gambling so let's talk.
When do you stop?
Some stop gambling immediately the record a big lose, while others continues when they lose with hope of recovering.
Some other gamblers stop playing when the win they first few games, while other continue to chase the loses, and technically ww can tell in accuracy when this things happens, but when is the best time to stop gambling and take a break?
1-when you lose?
2- when you win?

The right time to draw the line is when you are experiencing continuous losses, and have reached your budget limit. I always consider these 2 things when deciding to continue or stop gambling. Responsible gamblers are those who can manage their finances. And the most important thing is that they don't think that gambling is a source of income. I always bet small amounts for fun. And when I have experienced continuous defeat I will get bored and decide to draw the line. If my budget reaches the limit I will completely stop gambling.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: March 14, 2024, 09:16:18 AM
Most of them believe in the stories they read online, which made them believe in winning without considering the loss. If these people put this energy into investment, I believe they will do better, but the issue is that they often lack patience, and they always want it to be effortless.

An investor must of course have responsibility and be patient in managing his finances. This is what gamblers who make these 2 mistakes do not have. Yes it's true they think that if someone else wins then they can win it too. Even though gambling is not mathematics and we cannot really predict accurately. We know whether someone who wins on the news is truly a lucky man or whether it is just a small victory among the many defeats he has experienced.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: March 14, 2024, 09:06:43 AM
That is what stupid gamblers usually do , they tend to look for someone to be blame because of their own mistakes ,imagine how much risk they use to gamble but when faces losses they will end up making big issues so their act will not look like fool, gamble at your own risk , and also when we gamble always remember that it is our decision unless they are being forced to bet .

A wise gambler should know that whatever the outcome of gambling is his own responsibility. Gamblers who blame others are stupid gamblers. No one forces you to gamble. Even if someone gives a prediction because he or she has won the jackpot with that pattern, we have to know that everyone has different luck. I have friends who experience gambling losses because they believe in the pattern given by their friend. What you need to know is that the pattern in each game does not determine that it is a fixed pattern that will give you victory.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 12, 2024, 05:07:38 PM
I want to believe that we all agree that our betting budget should be within 5% -10% of our monthly income as responsible gamblers. However, our perspective on sports betting differs. Look at the gambling sentences and indicate which of the statements you agree or disagree with. You could also write a brief explanation for your standpoint

1. Don't bet all your money on one bet.
2. Bet the same amount on every bet.
3. Don't bet more than once a day.
4. Don't bet every day.

1. Agree. Gambling is not an investment. You play a game that can give you wins and prizes but it can also give you losses and the amount of money you bet will be lost.

2. Disagree. But if it means betting a small amount of money and not adding value to the bet then I'm all for it. Gambling should be fun if you don't gamble with big money or even half of your income. Bet for fun.

3. I don't bet every day on sports betting. But sometimes I will bet 2 or 3 times if there are several matches in a sport I like. I like football and basketball. Sometimes I bet in a parlay system on football. So I think I'm pretty flexible here.

4. Agree. Only bet on sports you follow and like. I don't like betting on random sports, then I go to bed and the next day check the results. It will be fun if you bet on the sport you are going to watch.

349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 12, 2024, 04:55:22 PM
It's not always easy to make the right decisions. Are you a gambler? If you're offered 1 btc without playing or 5 btc by playing (with a chance of 2 to 1). What do you do?

Of course with great confidence I will choose 1 BTC. I am a moderate investor. I would rather invest in coins in the big 100 than try new projects. So if I was in the situation you said I would choose 1 BTC, then trade on the exchange or futures to make a profit. But if it was about gambling then I would also stick to 1 BTC, then try a few games, and leave myself plenty of BTC to spend. Getting 5 BTC sounds really good. But don't you have a 50% chance of losing? Because I never saw a chance of winning. I will always see the possibility of losing in every bet I make. That 50% chance of losing is huge for me.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About running an online casino vs an offline casino on: March 12, 2024, 04:45:11 PM
1. Is running offline casinos the same as running an online casino?
2. What do online casinos have to lose if they aren't making as much money as they intended?
3. With online casinos, isn't the number of hiring being limited compared to someone who wants to run an offline casino?
4. Which one is more easier to manage than the other?

1. Of course it's not the same. Online and offline casinos have their advantages and disadvantages. At online casinos you can work less and you can be anonymous. You can run an offline casino without requiring good technical skills in IT, but you have to take care of permits, licenses and follow the regulations in your jurisdiction.

2. Online casinos need IT experts who can run the systems and servers in your casino. Maintenance and operational costs are also higher compared to offline casinos. But online casinos have a very broad target market. If you can't make a lot of money from online casinos then of course online casinos will be worse than offline casinos because they have higher fees.

3. Do you want to recruit more people? Or recruit according to what you need? Online casinos do not require many people and that means it will be easier for you to handle your employees. But I think it is more difficult to find employees for online casinos than offline.

4. I think online casinos. You need a lot of money to start an online casino. But if you are lucky and you are willing to learn and develop your business, running an online casino that already has customers is much easier than an offline casino that already has customers.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 12, 2024, 04:34:44 PM

👉👉when you are in need of money urgently
Some people gamble the most when they are in need of urgent money. They use the little in their account to gamble believe they can double the money in no time through gambling to do what they want to do. This most times go wrong making them to lose the little they should have save for that purpose

That would be fun if you really don't have the desire to get a big prize or jackpot. That's a bonus and part of the game. So thinking that gambling is a game will prevent you from using gambling as one of your sources of income. It is wrong logic to think that gambling will give someone extra money. In gambling you have the opportunity to win and lose. So how is it possible to think about earning money when needed from gambling? I think if you are a responsible person, of course you can borrow from your friends, instead of the bank. That's much better than thinking that with $10 you will get $50 from the casino.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: March 12, 2024, 04:24:56 PM
many gambling addicts have lost their minds because their desire to continue gambling overpowers their common sense, hence the importance of "gambling responsibly"

Usually a gambler who is initially overconfident will play several large bets because he is very sure that he will win those bets. And when they lose, greed will envelope them and make them continue to increase their bets to make up for their previous losses. That's what makes someone addicted to gambling. And it would be bad behavior if you don't have the money to make a deposit. It all started due to being too confident and greedy. Therefore, being a responsible gambler is something that every gambler must have. And that requires support from friends who also gamble. Therefore, it is very important to know the nature of your fellow gamblers.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: March 11, 2024, 02:08:30 PM
If you know anybody trying to stop the addiction of gambling to become better for themselves and their family, try and show them support by not criticizing them. If you observe that they experience some kind of relapse and go back to gamble even when they said they were not going to gamble, try to encourage them to remember why they wanted to stop gambling for the time. It is not an easy decision for some of them to make, and even imagining that they will never gamble again can make it worse for them, most of them need all the support they can get to help them maintain the decision to give gambling some time away. If you criticize and mock them, they may nurse in the heart the mindset that gambling is impossible to stop, or even stop trying to stop gambling because you have already made them feel like they can never do it.

I agree with you. Don't bring up his past when he was addicted to gambling. And and underestimate someone's desire to stop gambling addiction. Sometimes someone who wants to quit really needs support from those closest to them and their friends. He needs moral support and motivation to fully recover from addiction. Give them space to change and recover from addiction. Because if we don't support him then he may think that he can no longer escape the label of a gambling addict and if his desire to stop is not appreciated, some people will return to being addicts because they think their family and friends no longer accept them.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: March 09, 2024, 09:38:11 AM
Betting large amounts is always risky but these large amounts are different amounts for different categories of people. For example, placing a single bet of $10 for a poor person is very difficult and a big risk because he is not financially sound.  But a $50 single bet for a rich person would also be a normal bet. So one should always bet as much as one can afford to lose according to one's financial condition. He will enjoy gambling and will not suffer any major financial damage

That's why it's important not to be greedy in gambling. Bet with money that you can afford to lose. I think the betting amount is relative because people's financial capabilities are different. But make sure to bet a small amount that you think you are prepared to lose. I once bet a large amount and it was very painful when I lost my money. But I can enjoy gambling when I bet small amounts. I can focus on the game instead of worrying about winning and losing.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 09:27:24 AM
Yeah that is true I wanted say they had two matches umbeat consecutively apart from their 1_ 3 against everton, however I stong believe ís likely to end a draw match with Manchester united but let see it goes to play out.

United have lost their last 2 games but those were defeats to City and to be honest I was surprised by their defeat to Fulham. But both teams are above Everton's current level. Everton didn't even win their last 5 matches. So I think this match will be a win for United to improve their ranking in the standings. I think a draw is quite possible but with the previous 2 defeats I think United will go all out to get a win to boost their confidence again.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 09, 2024, 09:17:27 AM
This is another reason why gambling can not be a job or anything like a source of income cause you can't know your games would play out and no predictions is ever accurate.

If you have such experience share it with us let's see the luck guys around.

I like your opinion. Don't even think about getting additional income from gambling. It will only harm you. I believe you are a responsible gambler. I have also been in a situation like yours. Where I bet on a match and it turns out I won the bet. To be honest, at that time I was betting such a small amount of money that I didn't think about it anymore. But I was very happy when I found out I won. Then I started to think that the fun of gambling is when you win the bet and you can control your emotions so you are not greedy in betting.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 09:01:46 AM
As gambler when last did you self-examine your gambling habit to create that awareness based on how you are gambling in order for you to be quite sure if you're within a considerable or an acceptable range of a gambling habit that is void of addiction or the tendencies of gambling addiction.

Don't you think so?

I have been in a situation where I was annoyed by my losses and then I tried to recover my losses. But in the end I realized that it was the beginning of a gambling addiction. So I immediately stopped gambling for a few days. I think the key to not getting addicted to gambling is to bet the money you are prepared to lose, and think that gambling is just a game that will not give you additional income. The most important thing is the money you bet. The less, the smaller your chance of becoming addicted. Keep managing your level of greed because when you are greedy someone will usually start trying to increase their bet.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 09, 2024, 08:51:34 AM

For Arsenal and PSG, winning the Champions League is their biggest dream since founding the club and it would be a historic moment for these two teams if they could win their first title in the Champions League. Apart from that, I also don't forget Atletico, who have repeatedly been regulars in the semifinals or even finals, only they were always unlucky at that time.

Currently there are 8 teams that have not confirmed their place in the next round. Of course they are all the best teams in Europe at the moment. But I don't think we can decide that before the remaining 8 teams finish their games. Currently I predict Arsenal, Barcelona, Dortmund and Inter will qualify. This is just my prediction and I am not underestimating any other team. PSV is playing very well in the league and Napoli is also at the same level as Barcelona. But I think Dortmund and Barca as hosts will have an advantage because they are playing at their own home.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: March 08, 2024, 03:21:33 AM
What could cause a gambler to place a bet to the extent that he no longer has money to pay for the games he played?

This story happened in my presence on Friday, when I visited a physical betting shop to book some games after that my battery ran down in the process of trying to place some bets with my smartphone to bet on a game that will kick-start in some minutes. There I was, there was this gentleman who was there before me playing the visual game and to cut the whole story short at the end, the gambler started having issues with the person who placed the games for him, reason being that after playing the visual game the gambler no longer has the money to pay the person, and he optioned to dropping his smartphone until when he brings the money and the money amounts to about $15+ and this lead to the owner of the shop inviting the police to settle the matter.

So the question now is: What could really put a gambler in such a situation, addiction, or greediness?

Addiction is something that gamblers experience and the cause is of course greed and excessive self-confidence. They want to win more money. They firmly believe that gambling can bring them wealth and change their fate. These are the thoughts experienced by someone when starting to become addicted to gambling. I have a friend who is recovering from a gambling addiction as I said in another thread. They become addicted and greedy because they do not think that gambling is not a source of income. And winning the jackpot requires luck that you can't predict. And you shouldn't expect to be that lucky person because there are many losses that you will experience if you gamble too much.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: March 08, 2024, 03:10:12 AM
At least you learned from the experience and now know those kind of offers are all a scam, however there are many people that are so obsessed with the idea of making some easy money, that they cannot let go of this idea that at least some of those offers must be real, so they keep trying their luck hoping to finally find it, but the only thing they get is more of the same and lose even more money in the process, which is a shame, as they could have saved themselves all of that money lost by simply thinking a little bit about it and coming to the conclusion that no one on their right mind will make an offer like that.

I think everyone has been in that situation. I have also been a victim of fraud from fake prediction sites. They said that they already had affiliations with several bookies who did match fixing. They also provide several testimonials from people they say they have successfully helped. At that time, without thinking twice, I immediately joined and just like Samlucky, they never contacted me again. They only took a small amount so that this case did not lead to legal proceedings. I lost $10 on the registration fee. At that time I didn't think that if they knew the score before the game, why would they offer it to someone else and have to pay for it?
