Yes. You are correct. I do own quite a bit of EMC2. I also HODL a fair amount of BTC, LTC, NMC, DVC and of course EMC2 I speculate and play with most coins but HODL only the ones that have a bright future ahead of them. Please don't spread FUD on our thread. Scrypt coins will be around in 5 years. My magic 8-Ball told me so!  I'm not spreading FUD, just stating the facts, as soon as an efficient ASIC scrypt miner will be developed every single scrypt coin except for LTC will be useless. Everyone will just jump to Scrypt Jane or Adaptive N-factor. I've also got some EMC2 because I like the ideas but actually thinking this coin has the potential to get to the 3rd or 4th market cap without significant modifications to the code is just silly. |

Just for some pricing perspective, this would place it #3 in market cap and it would almost triple the market cap of LTC. One can dream, but this would probably take at least a year if it ever happened. LOL. #3 you say? I'd love that. Personally, I think 1$ a coin is a good target for now. That would put us at #4 on the list with a market cap of 299 million smackaroos.  In all fairness, I can see this coin as one of the last ones standing 1-5 years from now, its got real world benefits built into its protocol, how sick is that? Nah you're just someone that wants to see this happen because you've probably got quite a lot EMC2. Neither this coin nor any of the other scrypt clones will still be standing in 5 years. |

I'm a little confused. I'm not quite sure how they would be worth more in value, unless we are being sent coins that we should have got if the block rewards are being changed to make it easier for earlier miners?
Well no see, the current 6 month inflationary period starts at a 756 block reward, and ends at something like 13,000. This creates a great deal of inflation, even when you factor in difficulty etc. The new one (fork) will be much more evened out, and only have a range of a couple of thousand (2-3 most likely) as opposed to over 12,000. This is designed to give you guys (early miners) a reward for sticking with us, while also sticking with our original thought of having an inflationary period, which will also be reduced from the original 6 months, to 30 days. Allright then, i'll be switching my rigs back to credits tonight since i do like your efforts on the marketplace. |

You are partly right mate, by letting the rewards increase in the way it does now you'll just get the whales jumping in in 4-5 months when the rewards are are their top. Because the gap between the current rewards and the rewards in 6 months is so incredibly big the only thing you'll accomplish by letting the rewards increase this way is that whales don't jump in at the start but when the rewards are at their max. That said i think a small increase in rewards for the next couple of weeks/ few months is great to keep the people coming but as it is now the difference is just too big. |
