341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Controls Bitcoin's Future on: March 10, 2021, 04:56:29 AM
China do mined most of the Bitcoin BUT that doesn't mean they own all those Bitcoin now. It got distributed already from all over the world and China's supremacy over mining is decreasing over time. It's only a matter of time before China become one of those countries competing for a piece of pie instead of hoarding the pie. Also, with China's regulation getting tighter, it's not going to help them with Bitcoin.

There's no way China can control Bitcoin.

The fact that they don't own it has actually an opposite effect. Owning bitcoin means that you have your skin in the game and you wan to protect the bitcoin price. But this isn't new, and bitcoin mining has always been more centralized then people seem to think.

Remember this? https://www.coindesk.com/ghash-io-never-launch-51-attack

But even less centralized mining doesn't mean it would be worth a while for anyone to launch 51% attack, or that it would be as catastrophic as people think. It would REALLY expensive to execute, and would last 1 double spend before attacker would get kicked out from the network.

One would think that it would make more sense to mine money with all the gear worth 51% attack rather then waste it.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government Creates Own Blockchain & Cryptocurrency on: March 09, 2021, 09:29:47 PM
If this happens, will the value of Bitcoin go down because the government will make it available for everyone for cheaper value?
...

I am sorry but your sentence doesn't make any sense. What exactly would be cheaper? If something replaces bitcoin it will be more valuable by definition. And there's a reason why bitcoin needs to have value. Mining incentives need to be high enough in order to keep the chain secure.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 09, 2021, 04:27:41 PM
Welcome to the New Beginning

Introducing DCTDAO : The Next Evolution of Quantum Proof, Cross-Chain trading. Built on Polkadot, Moonbeam and DCore.

Too little too late, and from what i've understood, this is a response to non-issue because quantum computers that could be an issue for blockchain safety are expected to arrive in decades from now. And when this becomes a problem, it will be solved relatively fast and easily. Just like Decent did now.

Something crossed my mind... I wonder if they have plans to jump in to NFT hype. Like releasing Betfury collectable NFTs as an achievements that you can win by playing. But if they would do that they should at least have an utility value, like unlocking new games or something.

As far as I know, Betfury plans to add sports betting, achievements, and something else in the second quarter of this year, although they haven't updated the roadmap since q4 of the previous year. Anyway, I don't think that we will see BFG on exchanges in the coming months.

I would be honestly suprised if they stayed on schedule on those. I believe that they can do it, it's just seems a lot things will be happening in a relatively short time.
347  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1.9 trillion stimulus passes senate on: March 07, 2021, 12:33:33 PM

Some of the people will put in in bitcoin for sure, but the marketcap is already so high i don't see it having a huge effect unless something else happens that makes things escalate and more money flowing in. Weirderst part is that it could affect negatively on the whole purpose of stimulus if btc goes down after people buy.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Earning interest on coins through DeFi. Is it Safe/Legit? on: March 07, 2021, 12:03:52 PM
I just came to be aware of a new concept (to me) in the crypto space called Decentralized Finance (DeFi). It aims to offer the services of classic financial institutions through smart contracts and blockchain.
One of the use cases is to earn interest, as one would expect in a bank.

I just want to know your critical views whether one should involve is such or not. Would like to know if anyone of you used such platforms?
Many hodlers' coins keep on lying and this might be an additional source of income for them.

Ps: I am not talking about any Ponzi's that claim to multiply your deposits.

When you are talking DeFi as a whole, it can't be determined as safe or legit because it contains lots of scams and lots of projects that are trying their best. So your question is same as "are cryptocurrencies legit?" Some of them are.

But of course they aen't "safe", they contain risks, otherwise they wouldn't be profitable. Also ton of these DeFi yield farming things have high inflation with anon devs just waiting for a rug pull and i don't think that a single one of them can be compared to a bank.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Regulating Decentralized Exchanges: Is it possible? on: March 06, 2021, 02:09:49 PM
What are the implications of regulating decentralized exchanges?

You guys might want to check out what Dusk is doing with their XSC standard. They have been solving exactly this problem with a first layer solution.

With the current votes of 93.11% in favor of merging, i don't think it's even a matter of choice anymore unless there's more weight with the votes of large token holders that could affect in it.

By the way i voted for merging but i find it frustrating that i can't change my vote if i happen to change my mind because of the some arguments i see in here. It should be easy enough to have an option to change it.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 05, 2021, 11:57:09 AM
Delisting now because of the poor volume. Please do something that will make the volume better.

I have my last tokens now ready for selling before delisting.🙁

What delisting are you talking about? They delisted from Bittrex ages ago.

It's caused by this is a scam project and this will never take off.

Just calling it a scam doesn't answer to any question. How is it a scam exactly? And don't tell me that they "didn't protect the price" or something like that i've seen in here. Legit projects should avoid the price talk anyway and they shouldn't try to manipulate the price. What i am interested in is the fact there wasn't any adoption from anywhere. That makes me think that there's something wrong with the platform code. Because if the code would be superior compared to other solutions, there would be devs lining up to write dapps on this platform.

There's no something wrong with the code but the team was creating a useless product and they were wasting thousands of bitcoin for nothing.

If the product is useless, i would say there's a LOT wrong with the code then.

It was not but the idea is good enough, it's very sad to see that the decent team has no competence to make the idea becomes the true story

I thought that you just said that the product is useless, how is it useless and a good idea at the same time? And what more do you want the team to do then write the code for the software exactly?

I seriously think that there's something wrong with the game theory of coinomics and the whole economy plan in here. Miner incentives should be high enough to keep the chain safe. Something is seriously wrong in here.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: NMX Nominex token on: March 05, 2021, 10:40:54 AM
That is a lie. I have participated in their bounty and my rewards look like this:

Have you checked it recently? I am guessing that's an older screenshot because that was an error and was just recently fixed for everyone, now my bounty tokens show up in 1 year section. And tokens won in demo tournaments show up in 3 year section.

353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How way you choose way to saving Bitcoin ? on: March 04, 2021, 09:02:59 AM
For me it depends purely on the btc price and how much of it have. I wouldn't bother to divide 0.01 between diffent addresses because just the fees would make a dent in it but usually i keep my investment in 5-10 different addresses, even if they weren't some in altcoins. Some of them i hold in trusted in exchanges for trading and cashing out.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: March 03, 2021, 10:50:23 PM
Why an earth this didn't ever took off? Fundamentals looked solid to me. Is there something wrong with the code? Wasn't this original enough to compete with others? Maybe "nomen est omen" effect was affecting people and this stayed "decent" as a literal sense.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: NMX Nominex token on: March 03, 2021, 10:08:49 PM
It's very fun to participate in the tournament that is held by Nominex, I hope I can be the winner later. Grin

I have won several times, once even the 1st price, but competition has been harder now that there are more members and prices volatile and unpredictable. Too bad my nmx prices from them are locked now, but i totally understand that they don't want instant bounty dump.

Farming with my bought tokens has turned out to be very profitable though.

Quick poll: Do you have an exit plan on what price will you sell BFG?

I am really conflicted when i think about my exit strategy.

I mean suppose i would sell if i got 3 year worth of mining dividends back or something. But even still it would be hard for me to give up this daily routine and not look back when they list new coins/games and worthune wheels and who knows what. I feel like i would be missing out not having any BFG.

And who knows, maybe they burn a huge amount of of them in the future rising the dividends or they will figure out some other new cool system to make BFG scarcer right after i sell. That would totally mess up my pricing estimate.

So have i understood correctly that this is an erc20 token right now and you are doing a swap later on to swap these tokens your own native blockchain coins that's based on cryptonote?

BFG tokens will definitely be in demand when the trade is open...
like you, I have never claimed my Bitcoin there anymore, I continue to play it to get more BFG tokens. *hope my decision is right

I am pretty sure that tactic is the right one. Befause i am assuming that when this becomes tradable, traded coins are removed from the staking pool as you have to keep them in your betfry account to get dividends.

This will most likely lead to interesting scenario where people withraw their BFG in order to dump them in the markets, and after they see dividens rising because they removed huge amount of BFG removed from staking pool, they will most likely rethink their selling price or just move it back to the betfury site for staking.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: PancakeSwap vs Uniswap on: February 28, 2021, 09:28:31 PM
...cut...
If ETH doesn't scale fast, Uniswap could lose a considerable amount of users as they flock into PancakeSwap. Of course, Uniswap is much more decentralized than PancakeSwap. But most people don't care about this, as they usually "follow the money".

Thoughts? Huh

Pancakeswap already passed Uniswap volume according to dappradar. Also it seems that pump chasers went there too.

Even if Pancakeswap isn't as decentralized as eth, these nearly free fees made me try swapping and adding liquidity for the first time because i was put off by ETH fees and never got around to test uniswap.

So even if i am not going to stay with pancakeswap when eth scales, i am grateful for it providing me an opportunity to test it nearly free of charge, so i will be ready and actually have some idea how it works.

1.25 satoshi every 20min. I’m speachless. Where this world is going? Next stop - give less than 1 satoshi in faucets? Will it even be possible to make a >1 sat bet in the future? Maybe it would be better to remove faucet from the platform? Who uses it anyway? Lets remove faucet and free some server recources.

People use faucets to test games, they are not a way to get money, at least they shouldn't be. I think it's more attractive then having demo "play money".

And just for comparison; freebitcoin (one of the most famous btc faucets/gambling sites) is currently giving 2 sats per hour (if you accidentally don't win more).
