Stoner Stanley,  I understand where you are coming from, but show some empathy for our fellow investor. I agree he shouldn't have FUDded MaryJ, but imagine how you would feel if someone stole your coins....

Hey rakesh1_90, I'm really sorry that someone stole your coins. Same thing happened to me about 2 months ago, but in my case I lost a LOT more than you did. I'm curious....did you have your wallet encrypted? In my case I didn't have my wallet encrypted.....tough lesson for me to learn Sad It just never occurred to me that someone could actually infiltrate my computer and steal coins directly off of my desktop!

I also had 4 BTC stolen from my Poloniex account when I first started out in crypto because I hadn't enabled 2FA. Doesn't sound like much now, but at the time, bitcoins were going for over $700!

So that's TWICE that I have had my coins stolen (although I admit both times were due to my naivety and stupidity)

Unless crypto solves this problem, it will never have a chance of becoming the global currency. Just imagine that you have your life savings in BTC or some other crypto and then one day you turn on your computer and poof, it's all gone. And of course unlike banks, no one insures your btc and it's next to impossible to find who stole it. So basically with cryptocurrency, in the blink of an eye you can go from being rich to having nothing.

THAT is the big problem with crypto.

Hey dude, he lost his Viorcoin, he have nothing to do with MaryJ (he come for fud only) so i don't care, in fact i don't care because he's not a respectable person.

I'm just trying to get some fun Tongue

My wallet is secure and ect.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Fake Scrypt-VapeCoin (VPC) Coin is a scam on: January 05, 2015, 02:04:48 PM
Go through the rest posts. Done enough to prove it's a scam.

Ok, i see: no one proof of scam

and i see: no one proof of legit dev.

So it's strange, but not a proof of scam.

Maybe you have a problem in your brain? be serious -_- find a true proof.

344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: January 04, 2015, 01:40:14 PM
I just launched my Opal wallet and Malwarebytes gave this warning.  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Malicious website blocked.
IP   89.248.160.238
port 50990
Inbound
Opalcoin.qt

Anyone seen like this?
This not the compromised wallet. This was a wallet from Opal web page.

COME ON GUYS. THIS COULD BE BAD NEWS FOR PEOPLE HERE>
CHECK YOUR WALLETS  Huh Huh Huh

Gets worse. I sent 10000 Opal to Poloniex and got 11 confirmations but they never arrived at Polo. There seems to be some hijack going on.

Anyone out there today?

An inbound connection is not normal if nobody is supposed to be connected to your opal wallet (even when you are downloading the blocks, because it come from outbound connections)

No one of my Qt Wallets accept the inbound connections, but it depend of what are you doing with your wallet?

Anyway this IP seems to be legit:

CryptoLTD is a bit harsh, just harsh... because he's not totally wrong (about antivirus). Also i don't understand why we "gave" 1millions of coin to the pirate? technical problem or he threatened someone?(i'm just asking  Tongue)

OPAL is allowed to work with F-Secure and altcoin.center, but i like the security since long time and i never had problem to bypass f-secure antivirus (antivirus only)... this is not always the case with Avira. Now i appreciate the initiative and i'm sure F-secure can be the best in the cryptocurrency security, if they start to work on it.

So F-secure stay one of the best, but i can't lie... avira free is in the first place since long time (even in the media and tester).

I give you a better solution for all people noob in security:

1: Avira antivirus free / F-secure if you want
2: a Keyscambler tool (this is not optional ... take it)

If you have the time to configure a firewall do it.
And if you have a question ask it.

ps: keyscambler -> http://www.qfxsoftware.com/download.htm

EDIT: Happy new year  Cheesy  Kiss
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][2] Developments & Discussions on: December 31, 2014, 12:18:01 AM

I threw together a quick mockup for a "clean" version:

This logo looks better than the original logo.... it's obvious  Shocked

Also i like the logo of brookefinancial but i prefer the shape effect above.

Very nice Smiley

edit:

i like this one too:

Hello cann community. Long time lurker here. I have thought about the logo from time to time. To me, since CannabisCoin project is for the mmj patients ultimately, it would make sense for the logo to be/contain the green cross (for those who may not know, the green cross is the universal symbol for medical marijuana). The green cross would better symbolize what CANN is all about, and is more professional than a pot leaf. Besides, cannabis is in the coin's name, so it's a bit redundant to have a pot leaf as well. When I walk in downtown Denver and see a sign with a big green cross way down the way, I know immediately that that place is in the mmj business. I also like the phrase E Cannabis Unum, the play on E Pluribus Unum

Anyways, just a thought I had. Cheers

Good idea  Cool
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 30, 2014, 12:18:17 AM
Ignore my comments on Comodo firewall i experienced issues due to the security suite (FW+AV+Help+Browser): and for the issue with comodo firewall, it came from the trial version of MBAM or Comodo Firewall, so it was just a MBAM/Comodo firewall setting issue.
Ok, comodo is a great firewall, maybe the best one for people who knows how to set it. But it is not the best public protection in the world (tools like BSK Crypter and more generally the Metasploit framework can bypass standard/half-advanced Comodo (and others firewalls) settings): the best protection must involve user's web behaviour. Especially when the user is not an expert.

My last purpose was to educate people who dont know the basics and the rules of the Internet. Smiley

What i want to say is that even if you know everything about the security, any rules of internet, everytime you need a firewall and HIPS.

BSK crypter was a old crypter, no proof or vouch about the comodo bypass option even if i saw the youtube video (anyway when you expose a vulnerability in a firewall (especially in comodo) it's directly patched) and this crypter is dead, i think to know why  Cheesy
I didn't see anything about metasploit and the comodo HIPS (or too old maybe), and the comodo FW exploit is old.

In all cases, bypassing comodo + HIPS using metasploit with a private exploit is reserved for people who really don't care about some OPAL coin, i can tell you that Smiley

And i think it's better to forget this problem because we can't do anything better than learn the security and only learn the security, not the rules, because there is no rule on internet, but i understand what do you say and it's also true.
We can break all the rules, learn how works Firewall+HIPS, is what the people need at the moment, because nothing is better for them, they need to learn all stuff at school, they will in the future.

OPAL Team may remove the warning?

Ohhh ok, but even if it's a test : you just give your IP in this forum and well... At list you are warned!

Maybe he use a firewall.

 Cool

0 sat or 1$ maybe more, everything is possible, if fail: 0 sat, if success: we can reach one dollars of course.. why not? the cryptocurrency is the futur.

Anyway even at 1cent i will be happy  Cheesy

352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][2] Developments & Discussions on: December 29, 2014, 04:09:07 PM
Need a professional logo before all now, this coin is a good idea but the logo really need to be changed.

 Cool

I think people have grown accustomed to the current logo, but you do raise a valid point.

Is there a universal "dispensary" image we could add to make it look more "professional" perhaps?

The logo is very important to attract the people, most people are looking for something beautiful the rest they don't care, see around you, everybody want to be sexy they don't care about the science & technology, give them a logo and they will be happy  Roll Eyes (and we will be happy also  Cheesy)

I think we need something with more effect, more shape.

I'm not good in graphic, i work on the design and core for a cannabis game and i'm also looking for graphic artist.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 29, 2014, 03:44:26 PM

Very usefull, +rep.
In addition to that install Comodo Firewall (best one imho) and use your browser in sandboxed mode (http://www.sandboxie.com/) whilst surfing on unknown sites, you'll avoid most malwares as well.
Also, Noscript, adblock plus, disconnect and cookie monster are great firefox addon to be installed.

Thanks goodgirls,

Yes a sandbox is a very good thing too: soon Firefox will have its own free sandbox plug-in.
I am not a fan of Comodo Firewall as i experienced some issues with Malwarebytes.
Disconnect is a cool plug-in (Disconnect must be added first, then add Noscript)

Last time i tried malwarebytes here, i had no one conflict.

Now i think if you don't have the time to deal with comodo, sandbox stay the best solution for you (and it's a good solution)

For me comodo is just the best solution, if you are the maestro (HIPS paranoid mode + Firewall custom setting) no one noob hacker will be able to hit you. Less than 6mo in memory for the best public protection in the world, what else?  Cool

Also, Wikileaks revealed that the governments are not able to bypass comodo.  Cool

When something seems 'abnormal', he say "ho my god the coin is dead" wtf lol....

That dude made my day really...  Cheesy

Keep calm and we'll see  Cool

@NSA360 just one tip: keep calm, when people read you they don't want to invest here.

Ya I've tried everything to get them back and even with the help of bassguitarman and darkness too and I just don't understand I mean it's not a huge loss because I bought them before they boomed but still it would be nice to even have a tenth of them back even

Ya what I'm saying is I deleted everything OPAL off my laptop and when I download the new wallet or update it doesn't do anything at all  No connections or anything like that? Also does anyone know when Bittrex is gonna reable us to trade OPAL?

You got the malware or you are not sure?

Maybe you can try to use your wallet on another computer Wink
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 18, 2014, 12:01:11 PM
Is that why my wallet erased everything and now I can't load a new one? I had 70k in my wallet then all of a sudden this mandatory update and I do it and poof everything gone!! Like I never even made a transaction and I still can't get the wallet to work still

Hmm... i don't know why, did you tried to save your wallet and remove everything about opalcoin in your computer then reinstall?

Or maybe you can see an error code?
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 18, 2014, 11:26:57 AM
Rolling Back due to one theft from one place is one thing, rolling back due to a bunch of n00bs, downloading anything willy nillie is another. Fact is this, in this instance, a roll back would be poor... another fact.. its not going to do anything impressive till those coins are sold.

Edit(added): You can thank the dumbasses that dont verify anything, click random links & dl/install anything , for OPAL going from a nice volatile mkt, to a MAJOR long play @ best.

Edit Prt 2: (Added) More than likely the same types that go to phishy 'news' sites, add every one on social media avenues, and buy IPO's.

Stop talking bullshit.... if you don't know how people get infected... because apparently you don't know, and you don't even know anything about the security but you blame the infected people.... nice nice.

The infected link was in a quote of the dev, the attacker changed the link.... because developers from bitcointalk don't have any skills to protect the hyperlink function, like they are not able to make a avatar function for us.

Problem is Bitcointalk.com and his unsecure hyperlink function, firstly.

Secondly, nothing (oh wait... you are the biggest dumbass that don't verify anything, talking random shit, ect)
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | HTML5 WALLET on: December 17, 2014, 01:10:59 PM
Why in the world would you download a wallet from a random person?
There's no excuse for that guys.
Development team doesn't have to do nothing about that to be honest. It's up to them if they want to help in current situation.

NEVER download things without scanning them. Especially in this forum. There have been way too many topics with trojans.

Whatever result devs bring, good luck. They're in a hard position right now and they are investing their own time to fix the situation.

Any malwares can be crypted then bypass all the antivirus.

The only viable solution is to do nothing.  Those that used the infected wallet and lost their coins are SOL.  Rolling back the blockchain is a terrible way to correct user ignorance.  The fact that you actually considered rolling back the blockchain is concerning.  You don't roll back the blockchain because people run an infected wallet posted by some user in the thread.  On the rare occasions where it is necessary it should only be used  due to actual technical issues with the coin.  That isn't the case here.

You don't realize.... the attacker quoted the devs then he changed the link in the quote, so many people think that it was the original link, not everybody know that we can make a yahoo.com hyperlink with a redirection on google.com

After all, if the malware is crypted you cannot detect anything using antivirus, the real problem is why bitcointalk allow user to make a Yahoo.com hyperlink able to redirect on google.com ? they are even not able to create and secure a avatar function, dudes Roll Eyes

But yes i agree, users are not 100% innocents.
