3421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Wall Street Predicting Bitcoin To Hit $55,000 In 5 Years on: July 08, 2017, 06:37:20 AM
Wow that's a great new? o prediction. hopefully it will happen.. How about this year no prediction on what will happen on August 1?

Segwit integration.? More than 80% of the support is for segwit so fees will get down and transactions will be faster after August 1.
I think 20-55k is little odd term but I do believe that Bitcoin will grow and as the countries adapting it the value will definitely rise.

it won't happen overnight. there will be some slow growth at first then more adoption, then there will be more rise and with the problems and debated solved the price will start rising faster. so for anything above 10K you should expect at least a couple of years of rise.
3422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Cuban on: July 07, 2017, 02:27:03 PM
Mark Cuban did some killer trades back in the dotnet bubble, then he used his celebrity status to leverage all of his investments and get buzz going. He is overrated for anything that has to do with actual understanding of technology. When it comes to blockchain and bitcoin, I know more than him for sure, and I don't know shit about coding. But the idiots on Wall Street have no idea of what's going on. I can guarantee that if you have been here for a couple of months you already know more about bitcoin and blockchain than anyone on GP Morgan or any of these twitter billionaires.

you don't have to know about blockchain technology or coding to be able to trade and make profit from the market. and I say these guys know a lot more than you and I about this market but the fact that we see these silly comments from them is because they do it in the hopes that someone follows them so they can take advantage and make more profit.

you can think of it like a more well thought and on bigger scale version of kuwakduck.
3423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Peaks and Troughs on: July 07, 2017, 02:15:54 PM
since nobody uses ethereum apart from buying it to join an ICO I seriously doubt your speculation is correct regarding it.
and also as for bitcoin, the usage of it in darknet has been going down ever since silk road was closed and it is no longer a big enough usage to even have any kind of effect on price. people moved on to real anonymous coins such as Monero for their shady activities in darknet. and if anything you should speculate about price of Monero using this pattern which I also think is not really effective because people don't buy to spend the next day.
3424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another bullish prediction for this year on: July 06, 2017, 07:44:02 AM
everything will become crystal clear by the start of August (hopefully!).
as the future of bitcoin will be determined by then and we can go in very different directions, some of them have lower chances of happening but still are possibilities.
for example we could even continue being stuck in the debate for another year and don't get anywhere about scaling solution.
3425  Economy / Economics / Re: $42,000 dollars to buy Bitcoin and Litecoin - Time to buy? on: July 06, 2017, 05:31:15 AM
The op took a risk but it seems it has paid of maybe he  could get some fiat just to protect himself in the case everything goes down in flames in the case things turn out badly.

Never fiat my friend, always holding, I will sell half of my litecoins when It reaches 200$ each, other half when It reaches 300$+  Cool

ok good for you, but you don't need to repeat it in multiple comments Smiley
and it sometimes is so much better if you are more active in trading altcoins, rather than just buy and hold. that way you are also reducing the risk while maximizing the profit. for example selling yesterday on top could have meant a nice little profit to buy back more after it fell.
3426  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Deposit fees? on: July 06, 2017, 05:05:50 AM
did something happen with Perfect money, like did they scam anyone?

because it is not just btc-e, the other day I wanted to transfer some fiat and test things and I saw c-cex have also increased the fees regarding Perfect money to ridiculous numbers, I think it was also 10%! I completely gave up the idea, these fees are not worth the trouble.
3427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is it safe to store money? on: July 06, 2017, 04:47:41 AM
I keep my bitcoins in my wallet , Electrum and so far I have not encountered any problem with it. If you leave your coins in online wallets or exchanges there is always a risk to them, exchanges may get hacked while online wallets maybe attacked and flooded with DDOS.
that is what i also have the same case. i am also using onlne wallet for my bitcoins and for every time i really found it reliable and never feel any risk there. therefore i will like to continue with the same point.
i also like to store my bitcoin mostly in my online wallet , but in fact for security reason i have distributed my bitcoins in different wallet so that now one can take my all bitcoin in one time.

Yeah same as you. Don't want to put all my eggs in one basket so I distributed my coins in like 4 to 5 different wallets. Better be sure than sorry. My distribution depends on my necessity like one wallet for my everyday transactions and some are for safe keeping and savings.

it is an unnecessary hassle that you are putting yourself through. securing 5 different wallets and maintaining this security is not an easy task that you can simply do, it takes time.
best option is just using one offline wallet for everything. you just boot it up and sign a transaction and then just sent it on your online wallet.
the worst case scenario you need only 2 maximum wallets, 1 cold storage and one your phone to have some pocket change with you all times.
3428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening ? = all coins down by 20 to 35 % on: July 04, 2017, 08:51:25 AM
All altcoins are actually up today after the drop over the weekend. Like people said, it was just a down on the weekend since not a lot of people trade. I put in close to 800$ on Antshares today and already profited by more than 30% in just a day.

Good for you dude though for most of june, it's been a weak run for most altcoins. I bought 5 altcoins amounting to a total of .5 btc during their downward trend and i thought that's as low as they can get but i'm still running after my entry amount for a week now. Not losing patience though as i know these alts will bounce back eventually. I'm just waiting for my profits for a bit longer

you should only buy the altcoins that have some potential for rise or a pump in their near future. not just any altcoin. specially you should make sure to stay away from those altcoins that have already had a big rise and are currently in a bubble.
and also I find this way of trading very bad, to buy and altcoin on the way down and still keep it even after it went lower than your entry. that never ends well.
3429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any long term HODLers increasing the BTC stash by trading? on: July 04, 2017, 08:01:55 AM
long term HODLers are mostly old members now and many of them have bought bitcoin very cheap. some even bought it ultra cheap. and if they were wise they have already made a lot of money from it.
for example I have been buying bitcoin ever since it was $400-$500 and was falling down to $200 and up towards today. I have already taken out more than my initial investment in fiat and still have more coins left.

I won't sell because even if price goes down I am still in a huge profit.
even if price goes down more I am still in a huge profit.
even if price goes down a lot more I am still in a huge profit.

... so no you won't get back the coins that I bought from you cheap. I will sell a small portion back to you when price reached $10,000 at least. I will just buy more from you each time you sell in a big dip after a panic sell starts. Grin
3430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: removal of taxes on bitcoin and recognition as currency is booming in the world on: July 04, 2017, 07:42:31 AM
the best part of these news is the adoption of bitcoin as a currency.
they didn't remove any taxes from traders and investors! those people have to pay a lot of taxes because they are making a lot of profit. but if you want to use bitcoin as a currency and purchase goods you don't have to pay that additional tax anymore and that helps the adoption of bitcoin by merchants and "spenders"

and that is what we should always aim for. this real adoption as currency brings higher price not more adoption by more speculators.
3431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where should i invest 45 BTC risk free on: July 04, 2017, 02:54:50 AM
there really isn't any risk free investment in the whole world. there are very low risk investments but even if they assure you there is no risk, there will be some.
I think the best thing is to continue holding for profit. but you can always invest small amounts, you don't have to invest big. for example only invest 5BTC in different things. you can also start trading meaning to invest in altcoins short term for more profit.
but the best investment in my opinion with money is starting your own business.
3432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to send a fake bitcoin transaction ? on: July 01, 2017, 07:11:10 AM
first thing you need to know is that there is no "coin" or bitcoin to send or spend. what you spend are transaction outputs.

these transaction outputs are what makes the block and they are stored on the blockchain. and blockchain is what all the running nodes store and it can not be changed.

sending fake bitcoin means spending a fake transaction that doesn't exist. so if you spend something you don't own the first node that sees your transaction will reject it as invalid and simply put an end to what you were trying to do.
3433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: July 01, 2017, 07:00:42 AM
Now is the time to buy the dip and fill yer bags.

Well today is another bad day for crypto.

Taking a look on coinmarketcap you can see all but less than 20 coins out of the total 100 on the front page is currently in the red. Though it's not really a bloodbath this time round, no major disappointments at least. Average loss was around just 3-5% per coin.

Is it a good idea to buy and baghold right now? I don't think so... I think that proceeding this current pump we'll see some crazy ass adjustments coming up, and altcoins are going to be the most affected, bitcoin will be somewhat affected too. I'd say wait another 6 months when everyone goes quiet, then it's the perfect time to buy in.

the altcoin pumps are starting to show themselves now. all the fake rises and all their bubbles are bursting and their prices fall hard.
now the effect it has on bitcoin is that most of the big profits that most altcoin investors gained from these pumps is being converted to fiat through bitcoin. they bought a small amount of bitcoin with fiat then joined some pump, some ICO and now have a lot more. some of them liquidate at least a part of it and that makes a sell pressure on bitcoin price.
3434  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are declining stock markets good or bad for Bitcoin? on: July 01, 2017, 06:22:30 AM
many still consider bitcoin a high risk investment. and they are not completely wrong, there is still some risks involved with investing in bitcoin. and the swings are still big and the market hard to predict. which is why there is never a big amount of money coming in. everyone always diversifies and invest a small amount in bitcoin because despite all the risks it is still the most profitable while secure asset to invest in.
3435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every time the media calls Bitcoin a bubble let's agree to buy a bit more! on: July 01, 2017, 06:14:30 AM
the media and also most random accounts like the one above me call bitcoin a lot of things at different times but they always call it those things after it is too late.
for example when price went up to above $2000 everyone was talking about how bitcoin will be worth 5k by some time they though is best and a lot of similar news.
when price fell (the correction after the ATH) everyone again started talking about how bitcoin is a bubble and will fall to $1500.

both of these are bullshits. you always have to do your own research and buy or sell if you think is right. never pay attention to what others are saying. and try your best to take the least effect from them.
3436  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the best website to check the Bitcoins market? on: June 27, 2017, 07:06:37 AM
try bitcoinwisdon, bitcoinaverage, bitcoincharts, coinmarketcap, coingecko, or simply try using google to find similar sites but the first 3 are the most common ones which have proper information that you need from markets that matter. the rest of the markets are either too small or useless data to make things crowded.
3437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: June 27, 2017, 06:56:36 AM
Now is the time to buy the dip and fill yer bags.

It's probably not over yet.

I would say that the market will always over adjust, and right now it has adjusted, though still probably not quite enough. i wouldn't be surprised if bitcoin were to go down to a level that is say, $1800,$1900. Something along the lines of that.

When it does happen, as you said it'll be a great opportunity to buy in.

Always go against crowd sentiment.

when buying bitcoin in dips you should never wait for a drastic low price, instead you should buy bitcoin is steps.
for example after a major dip happened and 1-2 days went by with drops it is a good sign to buy in. but only invest a percentage of what you want to invest then if price went lower buy more and if it went higher you can still be happy that you bought at least something cheaper.

in any case waiting for low prices of $1800, $1000, ... is never gonna pay out.
3438  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What determines if a coin goes up or down in price? on: June 25, 2017, 08:25:18 AM
I heard that if there is news that certain places will start using a certain currency, then it will increase in value.  Obviously that sounds very simple.  But that is true right?
What exactly causes a coin to go up or go down in value?  If everyone starts selling the coin, will the coin go down in value?  Im curious but what things trigger coin prices to go up or down?

what you've heard is a very simplified version of the reality.
it is all about the adoption. if it grows then the price grows too.
being added to a new place doesn't increase the adoption right away, it usually is the other way around. first the adoption happens so price goes up and because of the demand for that service they add that payment. but in long run if that service is big enough (like if Amazon adds bitcoin payment) the prices will rise more because of the publicity that it brings.
3439  Economy / Speculation / Re: True or false: Ethereum is a bubble, bitcoin is not on: June 25, 2017, 08:02:06 AM
when prices go up based on real demand you can not really consider that rise a bubble. for bitcoin this demand has been mostly real from new investors with fresh money that came in based on all the new changes in the world such as legalization/regulation of bitcoin in Japan, then the green light from Russia and the proposal of removal of taxes on bitcoin in Australia, the new regulation in China, ... all these people came in and they are real demand that will keep the price up.
that also means the value of bitcoin goes higher so those mentioning intrinsic value of bitcoin should consider the new level caused by new demand.
3440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin on: June 23, 2017, 07:49:37 AM
it is mostly because FTC is not listed on poloniex that is all! the pumpers are there with lots of money and fake pump altcoins, the coins listed anywhere else such as bittrex in this case are either experiencing generic rises or small pumps.

FTC had a good rise though. maybe a week before the halving we can see another nice rise again.
