If y’all are wondering why you’re not receiving replies…
As predicted, if y’all click your Profile →Profile Settings →Personal Message Options, you’ll notice that “Allow newbies to send you PMs.” is unchecked. This change was apparently made automatically recently to every established member’s account so as to prevent Newbies like myself from private messaging you...
Interesting. Though on checking my profile just now, “ Allow newbies to send you PMs.” is checked (I've never edited the setting). Have they changed it back again I wonder? mine had been unchecked. and i sure didnt do anything.

Out of interest, has any of you tried a riserless board with non-blower-style GPUs? Surely they're too close to eachother to work efficiently, i.e. heat cross-contamination must be terrible?...
onda b250 d8p with 2.5 spacing https://i.imgur.com/PRSrodh.jpg?1sorry for poor picture just wanted to get something up quick to show the spacing.

I will be doing just that - and yes, they are awfully close together. I'm planning on using supplemental fans to blow air either down onto the cards or across from the side opposite where the video jacks are. some riserless boards by onda have more spacing than others. the b250 d8p v1 has 2.5 spacing, some other models ive seen are only 2. the d8p gives a decent amount of room between cards if they are double wide. i still use fans to force more air through though. all non blower type cards here.

@hardwarewallet: I think you are over a bit here. I have read your blog post explaining Meltdown and Spectre for the average person. Nice summary. I wonder how you can say, router OS or hardware wallets are secure. I cannot see how you derive this.
youre kinda missing the point. at least on the trezor, it only runs its own code in its firmware. it never executes foreign code, so there is no way to get something to run on it to exploit something. now if the firmware gets compromised then it could steal stuff via exploits, but at that point the compromised code can do anything it wants anyway, it hardly need to use an exploit. meltdown and spectre need to get code on the device to run to exploit them.

Looks like it is getting interesting. So Uncle Stu wants to hide his shit, Shinners wants to see his shit... thanks for keeping us up to date. i live about 45 minutes from hartford, i sooo wanna make a day trip there to see this go down when it happens.

Are there any plans to support BIP70? People can't pay BitPay invoices with their Trezor anymore, which is a very bad experience.
It's not an immediate plan for them as already explained by the CTO. I believe both Electrum and Mycelium support BIP70 so you could use them with Trezor in order to pay. mycelium on android does support bitpays new format (bought stuff off newegg with it recently), so you can use the trezor that way for it.

Hi I need some help with Onda D1800 BTC, the mobo arrived without bios battery, what kind of battery I have to use, Lithium CR2032 is the correct one? Is available the scheme to connect power button and status led to FP1 connector?
Thanks in advance W_M
CR2032 confirmed for Onda D1800. My seller actually informed me of the fact they were not allowed to include the battery in the package from China. Just buy one (costs next to nothing), plug it in and off you go! yeah any of the bigger drug stores chains should have em (cvs, riteaid for example) if youre in a hurry.

So much FUD in this thread. I have written up a blog post explaining Meltdown and Spectre for the average person (who has some familiarity with computer terminology). The NSA has no interest in stealing your Bitcoins. If they are stored on your PC and the NSA wanted to steal them, believe me, they could steal them and the Meltdown and Spectre attacks have nothing to do with how they'd take them. For most people, a hardware wallet is the best way to keep your coins secure. Hardware wallets are not vulnerable to the Meltdown/Spectre class of attacks. You got any more info on this? What CPUs are hardware wallets using? Spectre is pretty wide reaching, even some ARM chips are affected, so I am quite curious about architecture hardware wallets use, since there are not many CPU manufactures in the world. doesnt make any difference what cpu the hardware wallet is using, its running signed trusted code from the manufacturer 100%. no way for the malware to get in. trezor had a side channel attack (power draw analysis) a while back but thats been fixed for a long time.

the onda d8p does have a msata slot. but it does have two regular sata ports so youre good with your choice. i like the msata because its 2 less cables and one less thing to mount.

I got the v1 D8P board.
In the other thread people were saying you guys are having RAM issues with these they don't like just your standard modules? I never ordered the brand everyone was suggesting, so guess if that's the case these won't get set up any time soon.
worse comes to worse here the the exact ram i use on my d8p v1. and damn the did that price go up. i paid $74 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232153G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Laptop Memory Model F4-2400C16S-8GRS

onda b250 d8p v1 front panel color codes - probably the same on the d1800. not sure about the battery thing though Green - Power LED Red - HD LED Blue - Reset Switch Black - Power Switch

Hello everyone! Is there a way to customize the set of algos under "hub workers"? There are a lot of predefined sets, but I want to use my own set. Thanks in advance.

Question. When you have multiple rigs. How do you tie them all into your monitor to view what’s going on?

I'm getting super jelly, to use an old South Park phrase, seeing all this Onda porn. As soon I as I get mine (and find some GPUs for it - looks like everyone is out of everything once again) I'll use my current clamp meter to determine which of the wires on the molex, sata, cpu, etc. connectors are actually in use; I seem to recall that being a question back in the 6th altcoin thread.
that would be cool. thought i read someone had found the sata and molex connectors only used the 12v and ground lines (he disconnected the others) but i cant remember what board, and he didnt mention the cpu/atx lines. be useful info to know if i change to a server psu with pico adapter for my b250 d8p v1 board.

it's energy optimized, 50w vs miner not running... 320 with higher tdp
yeah 4.5 sols/watt is pretty nice.

Yeah, newegg.com absolutely does. I did a bit more reading and it seems likely that you need to open a bitpay account/wallet in order to use that option but any advice from Phil or others who have used it would still be appreciated.
cant help here I dont pay newegg with btc. This happen to me just last week when I tried to pay my January hosting bill at GND. After talking to GND.... the solution was to install Bitpay app on your mobile (I use a Samsung Note 8 ). I never did have to do that - looks like Bitpay changed their internal process and forcing everyone to use their app. Fund your Bitpay wallet (treat it like a mobile wallet) and use their builtin QR scanner to pay. Good luck. or use mycelium (mine is on android). worked for me at newegg. scan qt code and go.

Can someone who has paid BTC for NewEgg purchases help me out possibly?
I just tried to do this for the first time but got stuck at this point:
- I want to pay from either my Bittrex wallet as I sold off a few alts in order to pay this invoice (I assume this is possible).
- After choosing Bitcoin payment option on NewEgg, the bitpay window pops up wit hteh QR code (on the scan tab) for a phone scan. Since I want to pay with exchange wallet, I click on the Copy tab and the exact amount of BTC appears, along with a URL that starts with bitcoin... https//bitpay.com.... followed by a string of numbers that doesnt look long enough to be a BTC address.
- The instruction say to copy that full URL into your wallet's send screen, but I don't think this will work in the BTC address field send screen on Bittrex, will it? Doesnt that need to be a standard BTC address only?
Am i missing something or can you not send payment from an exchange wallet like this?
yeah that format sucks. i used mycelium on android. scan the qt code and go. even fills in all the data (invoice #, USD price, btc amount, merchant - newegg in my case) in the mycelium transaction screen. so that part is nice. doesnt core have something like that? set core up as the default payment processor for things like that? never tried it so dunno.

looks pretty tidy actually. is that bracket on top one of those rails you slot shelf brackets into? i just cant help but wonder if it would hover if you lay it on its side while plugged in..

i dislike the fact there are 2 more sets of contacts for the atx 24 pin power for the mobo to go through. the less connectors the better (voltage drop/resistance/heat). probably insignificant so not really an issue (hopefully) but less connections = less failure points. the add2psu has none of those drawbacks. but hey if it works.. i do remember seeing a bunch of those back in the day of gpu btc mining, around when ribbon style pci extenders were all the rage. BTW you can daisy chain add2psus to add more than one psu as well. i think i read about some guy daisy chaining like 6 psus with add2psus for some monster rig.
