3501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOPCOIN (v2) - Scrypt POW POS coin with Casino and Exchanges on: February 14, 2015, 07:25:21 PM

@unamis76

The fact that PoS didn't work, that was damaging the coin the most in my opinion.
Several coders were asked for any help to fix PoS, unfortunately without succes.
Some of them wanted to help but they were asking a price far above the available
budget.

This swap to V3 (with working PoS) is the best solution for the future of TOP!

Swap from V2 to V3 will be 1:1 so nobody loses.
Even people who 'forgot' to swap from V1 to V2 can swap their TOP to V3.

I think a win-win situation for everyone Smiley

Like topdude said: Stay tuned for details...

I understand this change is for the best. I agree it is. But these changes are making folks flee from TOP... Sad

Meanwhile, I'll be around. Has any exchange switched to v3 yet?

3503  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-02-14] Time.com: An Artist Mints Her Own Take on Bitcoin on: February 14, 2015, 07:15:25 PM
Seriously not getting what she wants with this... Will the coin even be tradeable? Or she just prices it however she wants? Why not just accept BTC for her artworks?

This is more like a publicity stunt, using the cryptocurrency hype train...

3507  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2015-02-13 Cryptocoinsnews - Google May Introduce Bitcoin On New Payment System on: February 13, 2015, 02:31:53 PM
I highly doubt that Google will carry this on. They're not very Bitcoin friendly. But it would be amazing if they did! And the next step would be acceping Bitcoin on the Play Store
3508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOPCOIN (v2) - Scrypt POW POS coin with Casino and Exchanges on: February 13, 2015, 02:29:34 PM
dudes, noone was able to successfully fix the POS (even we offered them BTC). Something is messed up with the blockchain.

So only thing to do is make a new blockchain. So we are currently testing the new chain called Top3,
and if its all working sweet, we will swap our top2 for top3.

The swap will just involve sending your TOP2 to the burn address, emailing us the transaction info, and receiving TOP3 back.

probably any coins on Comkort they will swap automaticly. I will contact them once change over starts

Some people still have TOP1. We can still change those at 1000:1 ratio, but the top1 network is dead, so we will process those on a case by case basis, you will need to send me your TOP1 wallet.dat. PM about that.

Stay tuned for details, if all is working sweet, we can start in a day or 2

Pretty bad that you have to start another blockchain... I think this is damaging the coin a bit, no other people to try to solve this?
3509  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-02-11] Accept That BTC Is A Currency & Stop Blaming The Victims of Crime on: February 11, 2015, 10:22:06 PM
Translation from goverment-regulationeez:
"We don't understand bitcoin, so we are advising people to not use it. And since we have no ability to enforce the law, we are going with blaming the victim."

Either this or "Bitcoin will kill our sources of profit, and we are afraid of it, so please do not use it"

It makes me wonder what would happen to these sort of operations if bitcoin became vastly unprofitable to mine. How long could they keep running before the electricity costs just drive them into the ground?

Not for long. You might as well shut everything down immediately, sell the hardware and take your profits when that happens Smiley
3519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: February 08, 2015, 02:56:49 PM
Looks like coinmarketcap.com has removed MOTO.  Sad I don't even know when it happened. I will try to write in their BCT thread about the matter.

e1ghtSpace, I looked thro HunterMinerCrafter old posts and it's possible that he is busy with zennet project now. Here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=736447.msg10317240#msg10317240 ohad talks about him and it looks like he was alright at the time (Jan 31). You can contact ohad to ask if he still has a contact with HMC and if HMC is alright.

Anyone having luck with the bot?

It's ok with me (well, you already know it). Also it depends on the number of miners/total 'hashrate'. When there was about 16 connections, I usually did not see a block in a several hours. After all 200 sato orders was executed, some miners left so it was somehow better.

It's why I started to look thro HMC posts... I know absolutely nothing about MOTO. I want to try to understand how it works... Looks like I will need to look into source too... 'Allowed time' doesn't serve as difficulty well... And I don't remember if he told anything about map difficulty (although subjectively for me it's seems that it's definitely harder when there are more miners around). In short words: what the miracle is that 'anti-warp' feature?.. Maybe it can serve not only MOTO, but other cryptos as well...

I was pretty curious about what's up with HMC too, but after all it seems he is still around, just not on MOTO so much. Hope he comes back Smiley

As for the bot, just fired it up again. I hope someday it can find a single block, lol.
3520  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can we Vanitygem BIP32? on: February 08, 2015, 02:52:34 PM
Is it possible to vanitygen a BIP32 hierarchical address?

As the first answer says, its possible to produce one vanity address, but all other addresses in the hierarchy still look random.

But expect it to be slow. I'd say more than 100 times slower than vanitygen.

I have a similar question as the OP ... How about multisig addresses? Can they be calculated by something like vanitygen?

This should be much easier.  What do you want?  Fix all but one of the public keys in the multisig address and change the last one until the script has a nice address (i.e. an address that starts with 3)?  That is possible with a small change to vanitygen and it shouldn't make it much slower.

I don't really want or need it, I was just questioning the possibility of such Smiley And yes, that's what I was referring to, make it work just like vanitygen, but for addresses starting with 3
