2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram now has an A.I. BOT called Julia who is your personal Bitcoin assistant. on: July 21, 2015, 06:26:11 PM
Not really getting how this bot works or how it's useful... What are its application? Smiley

User friendly, the Telegram base users is 60m so  potential access to lots of people is pretty huge.

But I think the major use is Coinbase users can access their account through Telegram or a Getgems wallet.

I guess another step toward wider adoption.

Seems nice, but I definitely wouldn't want to connect any of my Bitcoin related activities to a chat app.

Is this too much privacy-paranoid?
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: July 21, 2015, 06:23:37 PM
Mine came from altcoin mining... Smiley
2543  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-21] First decentralized Bitcoin exchange: Coinffeine launches in 70.. on: July 21, 2015, 06:03:29 PM
This seems like a pretty nice idea, but regarding the news article... I think they won't be able to support PayPal, at least in near future.

As for the exchange itself, I'm pretty interested on how they work with OK Pay (never used this service) and how the deposits work... Do they basically serve as an escrow for deposits?

2546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are Bit-X and Bit-X Financial Corp. the same company? on: July 21, 2015, 05:02:30 PM
Although pretty awkward, I think this is just a case around "Bit" branding and the coincidence of the "X" symbol (meaning something over the top, beyond expectations). These companies probably don't have any connection with each other. Or they might have copied their names from each other Cheesy But beyond that I think there's no connection, after all Smiley
2547  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Will the Armory Wallet be made compatible with the Trezor hardware wallet? on: July 21, 2015, 03:39:45 PM
No Trezor for me until I have Armory integration with multiple wallets.
Oh, and manually choosing inputs too.

Ente

I completely agree... I see no need to buy a Trezor without Armory integration.

But devs probably have a lot in their hands. I'm patient, tho Smiley It will be good for both Trezor and Armory when they're both compatible.
2548  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Using Tor Security Risk? on: July 21, 2015, 03:30:40 PM
Electrum servers use clearnet domains no .onion so the info has to be sent through an exit node

is there are security risk with this? can i lose my bitcoins?

You can't lose your Bitcoins, as Electrum servers only handle transaction broadcasting and verification of wallet funds. The transaction signing itself is on your client.

That being said, there are other security risks (mainly privacy related ones) that you should consider. Besides this, if I'm not mistaken, I've already seen .onion servers on the server list.
2549  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [ANN] breadwallet, first bitcoin network client for iOS, first BIP32 SPV client on: July 21, 2015, 03:28:00 PM
Does Breadwallet support signed messages? I've searched around and it doesn't look like it supports this feature.

I really like Breadwallet, but I have to make a purchase today that requires an additional signed message. I guess I have to use a different wallet for this purchase.

Maybe the signed message feature could be added as an x-callback-url? Although that could get complex because the message would probably have to be URL encoded in order to work.

No, it doesn't support signed messages. You have to import your seed to MultiBit HD to sign a message from an address in your seed. Do this in a secure computer. Import the seed, send your funds to a new one on breadwallet (or send your funds elsewhere before importing your seed) and sign the message.

It would be interesting to have signing messages capability. But I don't see this as an essential or even needed feature on a mobile wallet of any kind.
2550  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bounty for CPFP Enabled Wallet on: July 21, 2015, 03:24:48 PM
Good news that this has been implemented... However I don't use the software in which it was Cheesy Hoping this at least makes it to the Core wallet.
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block Chain Size On Disk size Vs Number of Full Nodes on: July 21, 2015, 03:22:05 PM
I don't think there's such a chart, that I'm aware of, but it would be interesting to see one.

Maybe someone can take this info and this (or maybe something with more historical data, if it exists), combine them and create such a chart.

Well, here's an idea for my free time... Cheesy
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is wealth boring? on: July 21, 2015, 03:13:27 PM
If wealth is boredom, I wish to have a lot of boredom in my life.

As people said you are never satisfied, and you do whatever you please... So you end up trying to earn more wealth. Not that boring if you ask me.
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Are you using BitWage to get any of your paycheck paid in bitcoin? on: July 21, 2015, 03:07:01 PM
I am currently unemployed, but I think I wouldn't use such a service, for now. We all have months in which we spend more, and others less. I like to have the possibility to buy the amount of Bitcoins I want without committing with a percentage, constantly changing the amount of coins I buy and the amount of fiat I spend.

Unfortunately, I still need fiat for more than 95% of my yearly expenses...
2554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most beautiful block explorer ever ? on: July 21, 2015, 03:00:56 PM
Congratulations, this is actually pretty solid development, or so it seems. The block explorer is pretty stable and beautifully made...
2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RESEARCH - Target clients of Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2015, 11:28:34 PM
Here's an idea Grin This in addition to everything else already said, and I think we have a good list of targets Smiley
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real World Scenario - Question on: July 20, 2015, 11:24:38 PM
You can use a Trezor, or a Bluetooth/NFC enabled cold wallet. Trezor can be setup with Android phones via an OTG cable, and there were/are some wallets being released and some in planning phase that can sign transactions and hold funds via wireless, without keys getting out of the device...
2557  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are Bit-X and Bit-X Financial Corp. the same company? on: July 20, 2015, 11:05:47 PM
Excelent question, I read some news on the Press section of the forum that seemed tor elate both companies... but apparently they aren't related after all (hence why they didn't answer my question about Digatrade on the Bit-x thread, maybe)

Bit-x from Digatrade are Bit-X Financial Corp and based on Canada. Bit-x from https://bit-x.com/ are based in the UK apparently.
2558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can Bitcoin/the Blockchain change subversive cultures: Graffiti/Street Art? on: July 20, 2015, 09:43:46 PM
Graffiti/Street Art is related closely to photography. Being ephemeral, as you said, graffiti tens to wear down or being erased. You can simply snap a picture to "stop" time, and embed the hash of that picture on the blockchain to prove its existance, and that you owned it. Other than that, and the QR idea, i don't see much of a relation... Smiley
