USB 3 would be fine. Even my laptops have USB 3.

Reason being that if he doesn't acknowledge the true facts that are laid out in this thread What true facts, where is this summary you claim and links and quotes to back it up. This: I will say I paid in full for more than just my Little Single.
Excellent! Now we have Luke-jr agreeing that the bet should have been called a Win. Read the bet: which leads to: 1) BitForce SC Jalapeno: a USB powered coffee warmer providing 3.5 GH/s, priced at under $149 2) BitForce SC Single: a standalone unit providing roughly 40 GH/s, priced at $1,299 3) BitForce SC Mini Rig: a case & rack mount server providing 1 TH/s, priced at $29,899
Notice that the Little Single that Luke-jr "received" is not listed, and thus cannot be considered for the bet.

I could totally see making these for $20 kit or $30 assembled.
Would that include the ASIC, or is that separate?
|
|
|
I placed an order for 1 just now, I figured I got in below 20 dollars a btc and didnt lose anything on my initial investment
Let me know if you have any other bitcoins. You clearly want to throw them all away. Send them to me instead. I'll send you some pictures of real ASICs in exchange. That's way more than you'll get out of the CedarTec scam.

Of course they will be cheap in a year, but each of our USBs will have mined ~ 2.5 - 3 Bitcoins by then.
You wish. Difficulty is going up a lot. You'll be lucky to mine a single btc in the next year.

Given the OP of this thread and the following, I guess this is Josh's bet and not BFL's: Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam? November 08, 2011, 01:30:52 PM #299
Hi guys,
Just a quick note.
BF Labs Inc. will not be involving itself in any wagers. If our generous friend would follow through on their promise of a $10,000 bounty for producing a unit with performance as described, we'll be happy to claim that amount in the name of a charity of the board's choice. However, no such bounty has been placed in escrow and I don't think anyone truly expects our generous friend to follow through.
Regarding your individual wagers, I would be careful to allow for some upside flexibility in the performance claims. It would be unfortunate if you were to loose a wager should the unit exceed expectations, due to a badly worded bet definition.
I'm not saying the units perform differently than our purchase guarantee as stated on the site. Just choose your words carefully.
Kind regards, BFL That sounds like some other bet. The 1000 BTC is the bet on their official forums. https://forums.butterflylabs.com/content/123-bfl-offers-1000-btc-charity-if-they-miss-their-power-targets.htmlWe are so confident in our power consumption that we are offering up 1000 BTC to charity if we miss our power consumption targets by more than 10%.

Don't worry, there's an update coming in the "next day or two". You can count on Josh to always follow through on what he says! 15 April 2013 Update
Short update today, more to come in the next day or two, hopefully.

BFL started shipping SCs. Update your news sources.
Mine will be mining in 2 weeks - you can jump onboard or wait for yours to ship in 3 months when the difficulty will be 166 Million or higher - do the math on the popular profit calculator of your ROI.
Best of luck with your auction, but an August order is most definitely not going to be mining in 2 weeks.

Avalon is sending out 1200 units and 490.000 chips, am i correct? That would come to somewhere around 240th/s if about 80% of the units are 85gh/s ones...
Hm, might work. We could also consider a quintupling of hash rate. Still profitable... still way more than 10% on an investment in twelve months...
Keep going. Avalon is still taking orders for chips. Asicminer will be building more blades. BFL will start shipping in volume. If you believe BFL (why would you order if you didn't?), they can ship 300 TH/s in a single month.
|
|
|
Lets say I buy it and it comes really late. Fuck, the hash rate in the network has gone to 320TH/s. my god, it sucks.
The network is going to be way higher than that. Avalon alone will bring that much power online in the next few months.

Thank you Luke. Now we are down to semantics, was the unit delivered to you LukeJr or did you pick it up ? Excellent! Now we have Luke-jr agreeing that the bet should have been called a Win. If you have NoScript or other script blocker, it will prevent the popup.
I didn't confirm (no popup) but I'm already in "processing" status. Is this because I only ordered recently (after the price increase) and so I don't actually need to re-confirm anything? I suggest you contact BFL directly and ignore anything that Inaba says with regards to BFL. BFL does not participate in Bitcontroll.org, sorry. I don't represent anything but myself here.

Man, this whole fucking SMT crap / delays all the sudden feels like BFL spewing excuses for delays =( first its a week, now its 2 more weeks, whats next...a month more?
Sounds like a 1-month delay. BFL is on a 6+ month delay. Not even the same ballpark.

You guys do realize not everything that is FCC certified has a sticker on it stating so?? Look at your cell phone, where is the sticker? Look at a cordless phone, where is the sticker??? Computer motherboard? Video Card? Generally you'll hunt in the book and lo-and behold there is the FCC compliance statement. Just saying...
And as far as the UL label on the power-supply, unless BFL is making that (and it looks like a fairly standard switching power supply brick, probably for a laptop) that's the manufacturer of said product.
Look under the battery, that's where my cell phone hides the FCC logo. Feel free to post a link verifying the FCC approval of any BFL product at www.fcc.gov.

https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20195237-General-QuestionsQ: Why is my account pending review?
A: There are 3 main reasons for this. You transgressed one of the following Mt.Gox rules as follows: - You have more than one account. - You are using services like TOR, VPN, or any public networks - You are not making deposits or withdrawal with your personal account.
Do any of those apply?

Does Eligius (Josh's pool) show stats so we can look over the High Hash Rate users?
You mean Eclipse. https://eclipsemc.com/graphs/historical_rate.php+1 TH/s in the past month. But if Josh has half a brain, he'll be mining solo where you can't track him.

there is no lie... they state 2months or more....if they ship in 10 years, its still correct to the statement...
The statement would only be false and thus a lie IF the shipped WITHIN the 2 months....
Id debate that the statement is evan deceptive or a half truth.... What they are saying is they will never ship within 2 months......
If you want to analyze the actual words, look again: delivery may take 2 months or more
Notice the word "may"? That implies that some orders will ship in under 2 months, otherwise the correct wording would be "will", or "at least". Zero orders will ship within 2 months, so the statement is a lie.
|
|
|
How in the world do you lose 5,000 ASIC chips? They only shipped 15 Jalepeno's (prototypes)....
Are you sure Josh didn't use the majority of it for his own orders?
Where else do you think the recent network hashrate increase came from?
|
|
|
Not really. "2 months or more" includes all times over 2 months even if they ship none in 2 months. That is what "or" means.
A logically true statement can still be intentially deceiving, and thus a lie. Let me quote an authority for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie#Half-truthA half-truth is a deceptive statement that includes some element of truth. The statement might be partly true, the statement may be totally true but only part of the whole truth, or it may utilize some deceptive element, such as improper punctuation, or double meaning, especially if the intent is to deceive, evade, blame or misrepresent the truth.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie#Misleading_and_dissemblingA misleading statement is one where there is no outright lie, but still retains the purpose of getting someone to believe in an untruth. "Dissembling" likewise describes the presentation of facts in a way that is literally true, but intentionally misleading.
