Eventhough I'm Asicminer shareholder, I'm interested in this too. If someone can deliver a plug'n'play USB miner to my doorstep under BTC2, I'll take two. If they are under BTC1, I take 10.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I would be interested if they can get at least 750MH or 1BTC if it handles ~300MH

Hopefully these things take off and the USB ones get cheap enough for a lot of us to continue mining after the big ones push difficulty way up.  GPU isn't going to be usable at some point.

I'm interested. A two (2) or three (3) chip miner would be something. Beats video cards too.

Avalon chips use less power than AM chips. It should be no problem to put 2 Avalon chips on USB stick, check this thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=161715.0

USB is 2.5 Watt. The chip is 1700 mW so ... NO

Max. voltage 5.00±0.25 V (pre-3.0); 5.00+0.25-0.55 V (USB 3.0)
Max. current 500–900 mA (general); 5 A (charging devices)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus
ok so 5Vx0.9A=4.5 Watts
if (1,7 watts x2)*(DC-DC conversions efficiency) is below that. why not. I am no expert. Thx for the correction.

Is using a hub that can provide 1 amp and running the whole thing in USB 2 asking for trouble?
