3501  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Changelly and using it and access? on: December 24, 2017, 03:07:53 AM
Could be Changelly running out of coins at the moment for certain currencies or not wanting to get involved with certain ones due to too much volatility, as they don't want to put themselves at risk during a time of extreme volatility.

I'd recommend trying to use Shapeshift, it's worth it if not in NY (as they don't have access to it) Everyone else can use this wonderful service.
3502  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EtherDelta: Might Have Been Compromised on: December 24, 2017, 02:51:43 AM
*new owners*
*hacked 1 hour later*
 This looks suspicious as fuck

I'd change the term from *hackers* to exit scam, nothing that is too weird in the environment of crypto which isnt too rare (kinda sad) because crypto is something which you can't get back AT ALL.

Kinda sad that this sort of exchange has been compromised and stolen from. It gives a bad name to everyone in Crypto as it gives the mentality -- that people are going to lose out once they get involved.

If you don't own your keys you own nothing
3503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for investment recommendations for new/rising alts. on: December 24, 2017, 02:40:58 AM
Anything on here posted by people are going to be people trying to make some good money on a pump and dump, I wouldn't get involved with just losing money on here. If you want to get involved in something for an investment, you're going to have to put it in all the work by yourself when it comes to finding out about it --

Some of this may include, your own charting, data analyzation, and stuff along those lines. If you can verify your own information then you can, no one is going to find the diamond in the rough for you.
3504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will lightning network be added to Bitcoin? on: December 24, 2017, 02:24:09 AM
It will be implemented when it's ready. There are no estimates from the developers yet, but I personally think it will happen sometime in 2018 or early 2019 at the latest.
It is already possible to do Lightning transactions on the Bitcoin testnet so it's reasonable to assume that we're not that far off from an official mainnet release.

I mean even if it is ready, this wouldn't mean that the rest of the people involved in Bitcoin (miners, exchanges, wallets etc) are going to want to actually implement this, as a lot of people have alterior motives and want
3505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC now only coin in RED rest GREEN with BCH best run on: December 24, 2017, 01:52:27 AM
Bitcoin had a nice ride today, it went up a good amount and then fell some. I wouldn't consider this being in the red when it's up an insane amount in this month, above all of the other alts.

BCH is also only having a good run because of the shit that Coinbase pulled, which was a way to get Roger Ver and his cronies an insane amount of money from some BS insider trading over there.

Don't fret BTC owners, all will be okay!
3506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does nobody realize that bitcoin cash is underrated? on: December 23, 2017, 03:25:41 AM
Bitcoin cash isn't underrated if anything it is overrated. Bitcoin Cash has no usage, and when I mean no usage I mean it has less of a usage then Bitcoin does (which is really saying something, as Bitcoin is really only a coin which is being traded by people with no real usage as a currency)

So no, Roger Vers shitcoin doesn't mean anything and should be eradicated from the world.
3507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is BCH, "not printing money" ? on: December 23, 2017, 12:47:37 AM
Well I mean if you are to actually think about it, it is like printing money -- as it's just forking off of Bitcoin and making money for people who are involved and are holding Bitcoin. This isn't something which is good for the community in the least, the only thing it's going to do is cause a large rift and divide into the community (because as we already know people have already lost massive amounts of money due to the civil war between the two communities.

Avoid it at all costs, not worth it to fuck with Bitcoin at all.
3508  Economy / Economics / Re: Does bitcoin important in blockchain world ? on: December 22, 2017, 09:35:10 PM
Bitcoin is the reason that the blockchain is in existance, so yes (of course) Bitcoin is going to be something that is looked upon in the blockchain world. The main reason that people are more interested in the Blockchain rather then Bitcoin is that they're trying to make themselves money and provide transparency in the work that they do, this is the reason that a lot of people want banks to start using the blockchain.

So yes, it is very important.
3509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What makes a transaction get stuck on the network? on: December 22, 2017, 09:22:21 PM
The reason a transaction would get 'stuck' on the network is that there are tons of transactions (like yours) that are going to be paying the same fee as you, or even higher. This causes miners to want to mine the TX's which are higher, or the TX's which pay more -- either one as it really doesn't matter for them they're just trying to make as much money as possible.

Only way to accelerate your TX is through some sort of accelerator, try viabtc.
3510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBOE files for 6 ETFs amid the chaos on: December 22, 2017, 09:15:52 PM
This just shows that the people on wall street are finally getting more and more involved in Bitcoin, but they're getting into it for the money and the money only. Which i guess is something sad to think about, as we're straying from the currency of Bitcoin to the commodity of Bitcoin.

This is expected to happen though, as the floodgates have FINALLY opened up on people starting to buy into Bitcoin -- it may even get a couple more people involved in the adoption of Bitcoin.

All we need now is for fees to come crashing down.
3511  Economy / Economics / Re: How much important bitcoin for entrepreneurs? on: December 19, 2017, 02:56:18 AM
I took advantage of the Bitcoin price flactuantion by investing 10% of my earnings. My $500 turned to $18k. I seeit as money multiplier

But that's not helpful for a business owner, you're pretty much just saying that the only reason Bitcoin is helpful is that of the increase in price. Well with that logic, once the price of Bitcoin falls then it isn't helpful? Bitcoin wasn't made to be a commodity like gold or silver, it was made by Satoshi to be a currency that was decentralized.

Bitcoin can be helpful to entrepreneurs, but only to consumers who are only going to be using Bitcoin and buying products with Bitcoin. Without that, it makes it useless as if consumers don't care what they're paying for a company is probably much more suited to be taking in payments by CC, cash, etc.

So, negligible importance.
3512  Economy / Economics / Re: EU Crackdown On Bitcoin on: December 19, 2017, 02:23:04 AM
The title is a bit misleading, sounds like it’s not really a “crackdown,” just more surveillance on exchanges. There’s a similar law that could be passed here in the US. Keep in mind that this wouldn’t even effect Bitcoin itself, only people who use exchanges (although that does probably include most users).

Yes, there is the slippery slope fallacy that this is the first of many regulations (and believe me, I really keep my eye on regulations that could be the beginning of much more that they appear; in both Bitcoin and otherwise); however here in the US Bitcoin itself is protected under the first amendment (in theory at least, since software is protected), and I think it would be a stretch to try to regulate/ban Bitcoin itself in Europe (I’m not talking about exchanges, but Bitcoin Core itself)

While this is one of the many regulations that's going to be coming, Bitcoin isn't something that is protected by the first amendment. It really isn't. The government, if they wanted to, could fuck us all in an instant by making it very hard to buy and sell bitcoins (like the bitlicense in NY, but on a national level) that would cripple Bitcoin. What if they were to impose some sort of tax on transactions to the exchanges and wallets? Poof, we're gone.

This is all going to come at some point, the governments just have to deem Bitcoin a threat to their control and the people will fall into line with removing Bitcoin from the world -- it's sad how much power these people have.
3513  Economy / Economics / Re: Privacy of bitcoin transaction holders? on: December 19, 2017, 01:28:18 AM
In some questions, bitcoin is far more easy to track than traditional banking schemes (with such jurisdictions like Panama or Cyprus). MtGox theft tracking proves it.

Yeah, a lot of people have this common misconception (due to media coverage of Bitcoin) that Bitcoin is something that is hard to track, anonymous, only used for drugs, and so on and so forth. Bitcoin itself is easy to track, there is a PUBLIC TRANSPARENT blockchain which can be looked into with some forensic analysis to find out things about the sender. This usually allows for people to find out who someone is, or at least who they're associated with.

There is no privacy, unless you create it by being SUPER SUPER CAREFUL with bitcoin.
3514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why eBay/Amazon will Never accept bitcoin on: December 19, 2017, 01:07:57 AM
They have no need to, there's no reason for these companies to accept Bitcoin because they're so big that you're going to use them either way. Why are they going to spend money on implementation when they can just stick with what they have now, it's working and people know it. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

And the BTC fees, it's horrid right now and no one would even use BTC.
3515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Can You Say On Bitcoin's Transaction Cost? on: December 18, 2017, 10:47:53 PM
This is a short term problem at the moment, due to the fact that the Bitcoin price has risen but the difficulity (with mining) hasn't followed suit as of yet, so it's not like this is going to be something that stays on forever. It's just a small number of miners who are able to make a good amount of money in TX fees (sometimes $10 PER TX) as that is what they demand.

Once more people get in on the action this is going to come crashing down.

But out of this short term, this is one of the many reasons (TX INSANE PRICES Smiley) I use altcoins for transactions within trading exchanges. It's MUCH cheaper in fees.
3516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very noob question about minimal amount and profit on: December 18, 2017, 10:15:42 PM
Just as a note to you, I wouldn't refer to Bitcoin as any sort of your normal investment. Any money that you have in Bitcoin right now could be as good as gone, one day it could all be wiped out and there's nothing that you could do about it. Investing in Bitcoin is as speculative as penny stocks, just make sure to note that

You wouldn't want to use money that you rely on for Bitcoin investing -- that'd be hurtful towards you, your future, your family, etc.
3517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did S. Nakamoto ever imaged that mining will be made on GPUs, ASICs and pools? on: December 18, 2017, 10:11:58 PM
I think the point is that he had no way of knowing how mining would improve, he just put in the difficulty adjustment because he knew it would improve.

Well of course Satoshi is a smart man, he knew what was going to happen with Bitcoin on the scale of the amount of money which was pumped into it so big corporations could make money. I don't have a link to when he said it, but he knew Bitcoin mining was going to turn into a huge data farm situation (huge warehouses dedicated to this)

He knew it wasn't going to always be independent miners doing the bidding of the network, so yes he did know.
3518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to move BTC to my Segwit wallet on: December 18, 2017, 10:05:57 PM
I've had a similar problem, so created a non-segwit wallet and moved everything there. It seems to be too soon to go to segwit, it's not supported enough yet.

This right here, I wouldn't delve into something yet which is untested and isn't even being supported by the most major players in Bitcoin. Keep your Bitcoin safe, stable and then when the time comes move if you really so please.

Could I ask where you have your bitcoins right now? What wallet?
3519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profit or No profit? on: December 18, 2017, 06:12:35 PM
A lot of the profits that people have right now, are the same profits that you're describing. It's the paper profit, something that a lot of people mistake for real profit as they think that they're going to be able to sell at some point (I'm talking themselves being allowed to sell, facilitated by THEMSELVES PSYCHOLOGICALLY)

So profit is only realized when you fully sell for Fiat and have the money in a safe place, be it your bank account or some other safe spot for you.
3520  Other / Meta / Re: How to improve member rank in this forum? on: December 18, 2017, 02:01:02 PM
Activity on the forum is only advanced by posting and posting often, just by posting a small amount in a short amount of time isn't going to help you -- you're going to have to continue to post on a weekly basis so your activity adds up. Someone here threw forward the source link to improve your status, that's a solid read and I would recommend it highly.

Just make sure to not spam, if you do spam though you will be banned.
