“The leadership in Kiev is demonstrating its inability to bear responsibility for the fate of the country and to effectively engage all political forces and regions in an inclusive process of drafting a new constitution,” the ministry said. The US Secretary of State in the meantime expressed his concerns over the mass protests in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, claiming that was the “result of ‘instigation’ and nearly direct intervention of the Russian side,” the ministry said.
However, Kerry has stopped short of providing any concrete facts whatsoever, instead repeating that “Russia must remove its people from the South-East.” "Nearly direct intervention" - what the hell does this formulation supposed to mean?  Head of CIA John Brennan visited Kiev and conducted a number of secret meetings with the representatives of the Ukrainian power block (special forces?). Kiev does not see any reasons to pay for Russian gas at the new prices so they are stopping all payments for the duration of negotiations. So, what's new? They didn't pay before, and they are still not paying...  OK... here is a compromise. Ukraine should clear its debts to Gazprom within the next 7 days. If it is not doing so, then Russia should seize Eastern and Southern Ukraine, and write-off the Ukrainian debts. I take this as a joke... if not I will cry Well, every joke has a grain of truth in it, doesn't it? If you don't pay for your mortgage, the bank takes your house... That said, the only acceptable way for Russia to annex South-Eastern regions would be after a referendum in those regions. I also think that for such an important question, the number of votes for joining Russia must be over 70-80% (and not the customary 50% as during "normal" voting). The other option would be buying that land (Alaska precedent). Given that Ukraine has a large debt, the value of that debt should be subtracted from the purchase price. I remember that recently Germany actually offered to buy some islands from Greece and write off their debt, so it seems to be an EU-approved venue.  |

(I talked to a friend who served in the army, and he told me that when they did field exercises with blank rounds, that the large amount of fire coming of nozzles was very characteristic): This video (or at least the events) might be staged. Here is what talks for it: 1. From another angle the older men who try to stop the camouflaged people present themselves as former Afghan soldier, and say that everything is under control, yet the guys with weapons press on. The real protesters would not have done so. 2. Journalists are already in place as if they were warned. 3. Journalists and the majority of the present act completely cool when shooting starts. 4. Shooting is most probably is done with BLANK ROUNDS - there is too much fire coming out of nozzles - someone who was in the military told me that blanks tend to do that. 5. The squad strikes several heroic press-ready poses, shoot a lot, but do not move into the building.
Again, this seems to be staged by Kiev coup government to sell to the Western press. This will soon make rounds on BBC, CNN and Faux-News near you, mark my word. |

Interesting to see that Hrakov region has the lowest "For joining RF" rating - "only" 50% (EDIT: that's better, already 51%) The question for each region are: - Remain in centrally-goverened Ukraine - Join RF - Independent republic - Remain in Ukraine as a Federative subject (The first and the last question can potentially be summed to see how many favour Ukraine) The regions are: - Harkov - Lugansk - Donetsk - Zaporozhje - Herson - Odessa - Nikolaev - Dnepropetrovsk Only people living in a particular region can vote for their region, and each can only vote once, the rest of the world can see the results. This gives an indication of people's preferences, should an official referendum be conducted. The airplane did a circle over the the headquarters of the Security Forces building and departed. One of the comments to the video: "This was the most polite carpet bombing in history"  Other commentators think that this was the Euro-Ukrainian plane, sent by Kiev to scare people or do a recon flight, but as Ukraine and Russia use the same hardware, people took it for Russian airplane and actually rallied in jubilee. |
