Where the fuck is Constantine the founder of the Byzantine Empire you ignorant bastard? And who said it was okay for you to make a self-moderated thread about the greatest emperors in history?
3522  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Japan announces plans to have a space elevator on: September 22, 2014, 10:58:00 AM
Have people even considered the physics implications of keeping stuff in place with a bloody cable? Nevermind the fact that terrorists would have easy points of attack you also have to take into account the weather, Japan isn't cosy like Western Europe where there is only some relatively minor ( lets be honest here ) floods and the occasional heavy downpour. They'll have to contend with Tsunami's, hurricanes and heavy snowstorms depending on where they building it not to mention the earthquakes on the surface that could easily just shake apart half the elevator and leave the other half detached and drifting in orbit.

I haven't even gotten to the political and military implications of such an elevator yet, I'm sure the Japanese are smart and it is a possible theory but we have a better chance of developing spaceships which can simply fly up and break the atmosphere and it would be cheaper too than building an orbital elevator, there would also be less difficulty in defending them as well because of them being fast moving objects that would simply go into space and then dock on the space station rather than hanging their defencelessly for several generations.

Fuck you, Lord of the rings and harry potter are for pussies Tongue

Why isn't Game of Thrones here?
3525  Other / Off-topic / Re: Steve Martin just tweeted about Bitcoin on: September 22, 2014, 08:09:47 AM
This is why stuff like twitter sucks, when people try to post something that needs explaining in 140 characters that one line can take several different meanings.
3526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To wall street, ppl of earth would like a large loan to buy back our governments on: September 22, 2014, 07:37:42 AM
Our problems with western economies are far more fundamental than simply getting government back from those evil rich people in Washington and date back to when currencies were first used, go and research that a bit before you go screaming at people to do something, there's a reason Bitcoin was invented and it was made as a direct counter to central banking.
3527  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To wall street, ppl of earth would like a large loan to buy back our governments on: September 22, 2014, 07:24:08 AM
Wait a minute, you'd get your government back by borrowing money from wall street which you would then owe money to and use the borrowed money to buy it from wall street who you will then owe money to. Do you actually have any knowledge of how money lending works and mathematics or are you just incoherently raging against a perceived enemy like most people who talk about politics do?

Dem' Wall street traders dun stole our guvurnment! We'll borrow money frum them and buy it back!

The major flaw in your logic: The wall street people you borrow money from in order to do this will simply shut down the money you get or take it back by force if you try to raise a hand against them because in the end they're the ones giving money to you and they own it.

Moderation on this board is heavily limited and that's just the way I like it, they'll happily get spammers and people who post off topic trash for you but don't expect them to police and especially censor every little thing you disagree with, there are plenty of other forums that do that.

It's amazing how much you have people ranting on about free speech in the world but when they actually get true free speech they hate it.

I think my favorite complaint of all time was someone who refused to ignore others because it was "censorship" or "restricting their free speech" somehow, yet wanted them banned.

What?! LOL Cheesy

This can't be a real advert LOL! Cheesy I've definitely been on the receiving end of that kind of attitude at least.

"Hello! I've done something stupid! Yes I know it's stupid! Are you going to come and fix it for me or not?" >_< I actually ought to charge random people for technical help shouldn't I? That's how one of my family members makes a lot of money.

One person I was talking to was complaining about how slow he was running and then it turned out he had several anti-virus' running at once and it was because he kept on going onto porn sites which were loaded with viruses and of course he acted that going onto virus loaded sites wasn't the problem >_>.
3534  Other / Off-topic / Re: [FOR FUN] Microsoft & Google held Signature Campaign on: September 21, 2014, 10:51:02 AM
LOL I wish there were sigs campaign that gave away these kind of payouts, if it's just a kind of political campaign in all seriousness it wouldn't be illegal there is such a thing as fair use, I think the main issue would be if you are trying to sell products or represent yourself as Google Tongue.
3535  Other / Off-topic / Re: CHEAP ENERGY ! AHOY BITCOINERS, LETS SUPPORT ! on: September 20, 2014, 08:46:43 PM
Nickel Hydrogen? I'd be very wary of any title that screams about cheap and infinite sources of electricity especially if they keep it a secret, anyone who had actually invented that would probably pull a Satoshi Nakamoto and release it open source to the world so that you wouldn't have any groups trying to monopolise the technology for themselves. I'll research it a bit but I'm very doubtful, it also says you need heat to start it which means that you'll be burning something and that will be some kind of fuel, so realistically unless they have somehow managed to make a candle produce several hundred kilowatts It isn't going to be that revolutionary.

The only kind of technology I've heard of regarding hydrogen that sounds promising is hydrogen fuel cells and that's a process that has a by-product of water which truly is revolutionary, there are already companies working on that stuff now though and they just need to get the infrastructure sorted out but they have working prototypes.
3536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: was there this much Fud about the internet? on: September 20, 2014, 07:32:55 PM
Wasn't that actually Paul Krugman? And I just looked it up! It was! lol!
3537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: was there this much Fud about the internet? on: September 20, 2014, 07:23:46 PM
When you actually start learning about stuff and how it works properly instead of just blindly absorbing everything people state as fact you start to see a lot of things are FUD, it's because we know a lot more about Bitcoin than the news does that so much of it is bullshit to us.

I regularly see misleading statistics, inaccurate scientific research and more when I look at what the media puts out, hell on a small documentary I saw once about Jewellery I was exceptionally pissed off when a guy made a silver ring and hadn't finished it properly ( No polishing was done probably because of time constraints ) when he was demonstrating how a ring was made and that pisses me off to this day.
3538  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who are domestic abusers? on: September 20, 2014, 05:22:41 PM
Thankfully people are slowly beginning to acknowledge that kind of thing can happen now, everything is still incredibly biased against men though, as people often say on the internet, when a female gets raped or abused, it makes national headlines, when it happens to a man? It barely gets reported on.
3539  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 20, 2014, 08:40:41 AM
Poor scotland. They dropped this opportunity to cut loose, the next one is not going to be so peaceful.

They were a bunch of pussies, I honestly think that was part of the problem, because they were talking about things like trying to keep the pound and so on, that's not what somebody who truly wants independence does.

I guess people are just afraid of the unknown. Specially the old people, they dont want their habits to change. Very sad that they refuse the young their independence and a much brighter future away from pounds, banksters et al.. embrace misery and cowardliness.

Not to worry, the old people will be dead in 20 or so years and the Scottish might get another chance Tongue
