3581  Other / Off-topic / Re: I know there is no such thing as 'free energy' but what if it was possible? on: September 15, 2014, 04:27:24 AM
There's no such thing as free energy because that's not how the laws of physics works, there is however plenty of cheap energy, everything has a cost and has to come from something especially when you try generating electricity, the problem is people who declare free energy don't think about what they're saying that much which is why it gets thrown around so often especially in politics.

I think the term you might be looking for is "unlimited" energy?

I wouldn't think there was unlimited either really, because even plentiful resources are finite but I could be proven wrong on that point but we haven't discovered anything that is truly unlimited yet.

3583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visited my first Bitcoin ATM in Chicago today on: September 15, 2014, 12:55:26 AM
Usually there's a huge "spread" of buy to sell on these things, which has rendered the entire Bitcoin ATM ecosystem a complete useless joke.  Maybe that's what happened.  When he finally got in there, surprise, the markup was fucking $21 just to purchase.  Greedy ATM owners have singlehandedly made this innovation pointless. Sad

This is what happens when there isn't enough competition, people will charge what they can get away with, look at the games industry for fucks sake lol Tongue I know it's a completely different industry but I can't help but think about how stupid the prices are for games in some genres with this sort of thing since it's both to do with digital products, the prices for some digital things are just crazy.
3584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man's bitcoin mining leads to police raiding his home on: September 15, 2014, 12:43:36 AM

No, it's a real crappy city down south. I've heard it's the meth capital of the east coast. I don't know how true that is.

Oh I see what you mean now.

Trust me, when somebody says that the town they've lived in is a shit hole, they know what what they're talking about, I don't know if this is a duplicate but it's definitely happened before, the police keep thinking that the electricity spikes from Bitcoin miners are the same as drug labs and such.

This may also be a sign that Bitcoin miners need to look at independent power supplies which can't be tracked LOL Tongue
3585  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tits are more offensive than guns on: September 15, 2014, 12:35:38 AM
Because people are fucking stupid that's why, I can't be polite about it anymore, people who get offended over inanimate objects and by something they see on a screen just annoy the fuck out of me.
3586  Other / Off-topic / Re: Police break down door without warning, cop gets shot. Man faces death penalty. on: September 15, 2014, 12:25:48 AM
This is the kind of thing that starts civil wars and revolutions.

3588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 3D renders - Free to use as wallpaper, for promotion, or commercially on: September 14, 2014, 10:25:29 PM
These look nice, would purchase irl physical objects of these

A neon Bitcoin coin? fuck yeah! lol! Tongue

I like the model itself but as I suspected the mesh is a mess, if you're not doing this commercially then that won't matter but 3D Modellers always have to keep an eye on their meshes etc. so that they don't waste polygons and can animate things correctly.
3589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We could position Bitcoin as a currency for Kids on: September 14, 2014, 10:22:19 PM
Do that and we'll have headlines "Children gamble away their life savings in Bitcoin" all over the fucking place, no, I'm all for kids using it, but they have to use it because they want to, not because they were tricked into it by adults, the good news is regardless of what anyone has to say, chances are children are going to adopt things like Bitcoin really quickly, especially if they can do it anonymously they've done it with all sorts of technology without their parents knowledge before.

How do I know this? Because I learned all kinds of shit without my parents even knowing about it when I was young and I bet you lot did to.

3591  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. [NSFW] on: September 14, 2014, 09:28:14 PM

3592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen in Pennsylvania sentenced to two years for deep-throating Jesus on: September 14, 2014, 08:33:05 PM
People like you Honeypot are a joke, too busy getting offended and angry over the most trivial bullshit imaginable while we have a worldwide great depression either beginning or in progress and World War 3 looming in the east.
3593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jon Stewart: "More millennials saying "no" to credit cards. Prefer to use BTC" on: September 14, 2014, 08:22:45 PM
That pizza feud was just fucking hilarious Tongue yeah, I don't know, I'll have to see what he says if he makes an episode on his show about it which he inevitably will, I am fearing though that he's going to get someone like Amir Taaki or Cody Wilson and they're going to write them off as crazies like most in the media do or at least try their damn best to make them seem that way.
3594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jon Stewart: "More millennials saying "no" to credit cards. Prefer to use BTC" on: September 14, 2014, 07:45:40 PM
News or mentions of bitcoin can obviously be bad, but they're all promotion of bitcoin and getting the name out there and getting people to talk about bitcoin, which is obviously good. People will eventually make up their own minds on bitcoin though.

The good thing for us if so many people on television keep bashing Bitcoin and trying to make it look bad everyone else is going to look up why they hate it so much and probably buy it Tongue

Well at least they're acknowledging that women can rape now.
3596  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS has beheaded British prisoner David Haines on: September 14, 2014, 06:59:51 PM
Here's a piece of advice to any westerners working or hanging out in the vicinity of this madness: GTFO yesterday!

At this point I seriously can't understand why there are any foreigners still hanging around Iraq in the first place, surely when ISIS rolled over they'd have fucked over along time ago, maybe they thought it wouldn't happen to them or something :S.
3597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jon Stewart: "More millennials saying "no" to credit cards. Prefer to use BTC" on: September 14, 2014, 06:50:45 PM
Will you morons stop quoting huge/annoying pictures to make it look like you have something useful to say?

Yeah, I like Jon Stewart most of the time, but lately him and his daily show team have gotten more and more political

Well it is a political talk show and it's always been that way so you can't expect anything different.

I know that, I just think it's sad that these people are going to get incredibly petty now that they're having their ideologies directly challenged and threatened by frankly, a bunch of people like you and me with nothing more than some fucking computers and some forum posts, all we're trying to do is fix what they fucked up in the first place.

I miss the Marxists Sad

Yeah, I like Jon Stewart most of the time, but lately him and his daily show team have gotten more and more political, there's nothing wrong with that, but they've been doing it fairly dishonestly lately. The more things have been going wrong for America and people call it out, I still remember his attack on Peter Schiff which was unpleasant to say the least because that interview was supposedly around four hours long and they butchered it down to a 2 minute segment, it was about the minimum wage and you could tell even the audience was confused over the sarcastic comments samantha bee was making because they were going "Haha?" lol.

I think as things get worse for them they're inevitably going to take it out on the people who disagree with them, Ron Paul was right, Bitcoin could well end the dollar and we are likely going to be blamed for it, too bad it's their own fucking faults that things have ended up this badly but they'll never admit that, I wouldn't be surprised if America starts trying to declare a war on Bitcoin soon enough and declares all Bitcoin users terrorists.

I hope I'm wrong :S I really do but it's not looking good, whenever people respond to people who want to be heard by being patronising or arrogant it doesn't end well because they're blocking the democratic process.
3599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 14, 2014, 01:55:07 PM
If they vote yes guys, I'm seriously considering driving over to Scotland and talking to the SNP to see if they'd be willing to adopt an entirely new currency, does anyone else in the UK have some free time that they'd be able to go as well?

I don't think they will adopt any currency other than the UKP or the Euro. Since they are going to join the European Union, I think they will prefer the Euro. Also, the British won't be too keen to allow them to use the UK Pound either. There is some discussion going there about the creation of Scottish Pound, but I don't think that will be a viable idea.

It will be if they do it efficiently that's why they need to talk to people who'd know about that sort of thing.

We could also see if we can't get Max Keiser over there too because it looks like he's back in London now, I could offer people lifts if you're on the route.
