361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.4.2 Released Sync Fixes Please Update on: August 20, 2013, 12:18:31 AM
My wallet is off for the time being, but will be turning it on occasionally to help wherever I can with using my screwed up PoS wallet.  So hopefully you won't be getting screwed up blocks from me.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.4.2 Released Sync Fixes Please Update on: August 19, 2013, 06:56:37 PM
I got you for now, until the problem is finally resolved.  But I have to say the problem isn't resolved just by making everyone stop mining POS blocks forever.

When I get home tonight I will turn the wallet off.  (Or maybe switch to solo mining)  I wish there were some instructions on how to adjust solo mining for maximum performance.

Hopefully there will be a real fix coming.  (Which I thought 1.4.2 had this fixed).
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.4.2 Released Sync Fixes Please Update on: August 19, 2013, 03:11:03 PM
Wouldn't just turning off my wallet fix the problem, lol, if I was going to stop the POS blocks from being mined.  And what is the point of turning off PoS, when that is one of the reasons I really like Bottlecaps.  Lol, I will try opening my port to see if I can get more connections??  Or is my IP banned atm?

It's not effecting my mining of PoW blocks, as that I am doing via cgminer on a pool.  My bottlecaps are still growing happily.  Lol, I am just not sure I want to risk transferring my newly minted Bottlecaps to my wallet, as I don't know if it is somehow banned for being slow???

364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.4.2 Released Sync Fixes Please Update on: August 19, 2013, 02:15:47 PM
The bad PoS block came from me.  What the heck???   I can confirm, I am updated to 1.4.2.  I don't have my port opened, but have been getting between 2-7(max) connections.  When I upgraded to 1.4.2 I deleted my entire wallet aside from the .conf file and the wallet.dat.  And my .conf file only has the 1 add node in it, as well as the new port that was mentioned that we change to.

I have also still been having problems with the blocks stalling occasionally, this morning I noticed I was something like 100+ blocks behind, but now I know that must have been because my wallet was disconnected for submitting a PoS block without enough work being done???  How does that happen?  I hope everytime my wallet finds a block to soon that I don't get thrown off the network.  I did notice it wasn't the first time I have gotten a PoS block with 0 credits.

Can anyone give me any ideas what I need to do to fix whatever is happening on my machine.  Do I need to have the wallet solo mining???  I am mining on the coinmine.pl pool with my cgminer, so I don't have my wallet set to mine as well, aside from being unlocked and open which I assumed was how you mined PoS blocks properly.

Are there any pools working properly and on the correct chain now?  I am in the mood to mine me some Bottlecaps  Smiley

366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.4.2 Released Sync Fixes Please Update on: August 18, 2013, 10:17:50 PM
I have an odd problem with the 1.4.2 wallet.  Most of my coins are no longer in my balance, but I can still see them in my transaction logs, and they all have green "confirmed" checkmarks beside the transactions.  Anyone else have this problem?  I never had this problem until I changed to the 1.4.2 wallet.  The 1.4.1 still had me at the proper amount.

Edit:  nvm - repairwallet fixed me up

Not sure, but for some reason this is the first version I have had that is giving me problems.  Seems to constantly stop downloading the chain, even though I have had up to 8 active connections.  And for some reason all the connections will drop randomly and I will be knocked off the network?  I must have done something wrong.  I will try deleting everything again and re-downloading.  Already tried that once already.  Any one else having the same issues?

My guess is that tremor in the force is the BTC-Guild pool, I think it's been about 2 months or so since they started merge mining NMC.

It's funny, because you GAVE the coins away, they weren't stolen.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ALT coin Stores and Services List on: August 14, 2013, 02:59:09 PM
Just wondering.  I went through the list and can't see any stores that are 6X the value.  None that are even out of line.  Just wondering if my test store is the one that he is calling out?

I can't say my prices are nailed down yet, I have to see how I can make things more efficient as I do a few transactions.  1 problem for altcoin stores people have to consider.  Unless I am missing something, if you want to trade in something such as Bottlecaps, you have to run the coins you receive through 2 exchanges (Each taking a fee) in order to get USD back out.  You also have a bit of time between both exchanges where prices can fall (Making the store take a loss for the transaction)

Second my "store" isn't exactly a store yet.  If I do manage to sell an iTunes card, I will have to drive down to the mall, purchase an iTunes card, scratch it, and send the code via e-mail.  If people actually start buying cards, you can see, I can easily make this process more efficient, such as buying in bulk when they go on sale, or looking into getting a better way to purchase them for a discount, in both cases I can lower the prices on my site.

If you want to take the time to run your altcoins thru the exchanges and use your USD to purchase whatever you want for less, then by all means don't use my site.  I am doing this more as a way of adding value to a few of my fav alt coins than making money (trust me driving 2 kms to the store to buy a card for a $1 profit is NOT worth it).

Yeah mine is Windows 7 - 64 Bit as well, with the latest download on the OP.  I did delete the blockchain and recreated the bottlecaps.conf file with the single IP address that was posted recently on the OP as well.

373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Idea] Coin to solve real-world challenges on: August 14, 2013, 01:40:53 AM
Yep I was going to say.  What your looking for is Curecoin.  Join their Folding@home team, and start folding.  Right now you will be awarded with various alt-cryptocoins, but they are working on creating a coin that will somehow hash for Folding@home and are working on getting BOINC working from it as well.  If they manage to pull it off, I expect great things from them.

I am trying a small store for a few Bottlecaps items/  Right now accepting Bottlecaps and LTC.

Currently dealing in World of Tanks gifts and iTunes cards.  Other options will be added as I find them (Steam Codes, possibly other Gift cards and MMO game items)

Will buy a different address once I figure out the perfect name for it.

375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Curecoin beta pool test - user limit lifted - Lets hit the Mile Stone 1200R on: August 13, 2013, 12:57:07 AM
The problem might be that your looking at folding like you do at Hashing.  They are totally separate things.  When hashing, your rate pretty much can stay stable from now til the end of time, because your doing small calculations over and over again.  It never differs.  In folding, sometimes a single fold will take 1-2 days, If your folding a 70k workload and it takes 0.75 of a day to finish it, your days will look like 75K / 150K / 75K / 150K.  If however you get put on a different project.  Say folding for a cancer cure as opposed to folding for a cure for Malaria, the calculations will be way different, and the time it takes to complete will vary dramatically as well.  The work units are set to pretty much equal out overtime.  so in the case of a 75K / 150K flip flop your avg is 112.5K per day

Lol, wow, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse ...   It does.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why CureCoin Is Something Different on: August 09, 2013, 11:48:09 PM
As a long time BOINC and folding@home supporter, I will def be behind this coin.  Even if it is worthless.  Can't wait until the real coin is launched, and you no longer have to give out bounties from other coins.  (Not that I really mind).  Hopefully it makes more then the $10 I get from eVGA every month for folding for their pool.

I am guessing the coin is only going to be for folding@home.  Do you know if there are any BOINC projects that could be added as well??  As there are a lot of decent BOINC projects out there, from computing for CERN, nanotechnology, curing cancer, or even looking for aliens  Smiley.  LOL.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Curecoin folding@home team - 2000 DGC in Bounty 7/30/13 on: August 08, 2013, 05:31:11 PM
Just a quick question, since I am very interested in your project.

is there a Curecoin wallet somewhere?  And do you scrypt mine Curecoins as well as join the Folding@home team?  Or do you pay out with various other cryptocurrencies for Folding work being completed?  In which case, what wallets will I need to get set up, looks like some of the bounties have been paid in various currencies.

Lastly, will a small folder like me, who won't be able to win any races to X million points be able to get any rewards for folding?

Anyone know what happened to all the pools???  Or is Bottlecaps now switched to just PoS minting?

Lol, holy crap.  1:139,200 odds and I found 2 already (in 3 days mining).  I should go buy a lotto ticket  Smiley
