361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin price so stable in 2018? on: January 31, 2018, 08:05:04 PM
What do you think is happening?

Is people hoding less their coins?

Is there more manipulation by big whales, speculators or big institutional investors trying to profit the flavour of the moment?

I feel that there are big players "pumping and dumping" in order to manipulate the market to stabilize price and "control" in a certain way the price fluctuation.

Obviously bitcoin is very dangerous for our old corrupted economy, don't you think that in acertain way there's an unusual stop of the past few months trend?
After reaching $20k there's a correction to $17k and then price stabilizes at 11-12k with mini-dips that last seconds before going uptrend...

In my opinion the key factor could be also that if bitcoin reaches $30-50k then it will be very difficult for newcomers to buy bitcoin for buying altcoins in the exchanges.

So that stabilizing the price to an affordable $10k for a while could be a way to engage more people to bitcoinworld.

Or maybe it's all ok, there's no manipuation, it is a stanby before the big run to $50k-100k. Then newcomers will start buying and trading in Ethereum or Litecoin, because at the moment there aren't exchanges accepting fiat money, you have to enter and buy your altcoins directly with cryptocurrencies...

Which in your opinion are the main reasons?

1. It is just January, and if you take a look at the same period last year you will see that BTC is always kind of "in silence" for the first couple of months every year.
2. Well, it is normal people is just holding for the moment, but I don't believe this to be the only reason.
3. China has banned BTC and it is just recovering from all the bad publicity that has come with it.
4. I just believe this is normal. If you see the behaviour of BTC from the last couple of years, it seems to be a kind of friki loop.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies on: January 31, 2018, 06:00:58 PM
Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, in an effort to prevent people from advertising what the company is calling “financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.”

That means no advertiser — even those that operate legal, legitimate businesses — will be able to promote things like bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings — ICOs for short — or binary options, according to a Facebook blog post.

Who knows , maybe in short time Facebook will be promoting it´s own crytocurrencie, I will be not sorpresed at all if it happends.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most attractive concept about Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2018, 03:09:58 PM
what makes bitcoin appealing, in other words: what is the "breaking the ice" part about bitcoin that you can tell a newbie in a sentence or two, too pull them into this crypto journey BTC @millzp0
I believe the most attractive part of BTC is freedom. Well, this is the first time in humanity´s history when money has been made by common people and the common purpose. I don't know, I have a PhD in History and to me, this is a historic moment which will define the future, as well as economy is taking a whole new path when rising from the people instead of from the few.
If we see how money has been working for the last centuries, we can see how it was based on slavery, as it is based now: a bunch of people with a lot of money slavering a few (clothes industries for instance). Well, now we have cryptocurrencies, an asset with a value which is made by a group of people who decides to work together.
There is a long path ahead. INternet is not in every house in the world yet. But when I think in the future, I see a place where money has another concept, something more "equal", maybe, I don't know.
Whatever happens the truth is: we have already created the first decentralized asset and, for the moment, we are doing well.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin need to be taxed? on: January 25, 2018, 02:58:25 PM
Base from my recent post "Does bitcoin could be call a job?" I have read your opinions regarding to that. Doing these things is a form of earning money basically we have income. So does it need to be taxed? Because this is also a source of income, and we might call it as a job?
It depends on the country, but there are somewhere you will need to pay taxes when you sell your BTC. For instance, in Spain apparently, you will need to pay 16% once you make cash your BTC and put it in your bank account. 16% is the payment from 0 to 6.000 euros, 21% when you sell between 6.000 and 21.000, and so.
I don't know how Spanish government is going to manage the taxes, a mean, what kind of papers do you need to deliver to the institution, but I'm quite sure next year probably BTC is going to appear in some official taxes declarations documents.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook & Google creating its own Cryptocurrency! on: January 25, 2018, 03:12:55 AM
Your thoughts on Facebook and Google creating its own Cryptocurrency. I know BTC is the pioneer in cryptocurrencies and currently has the highest value but if this two giant companies will release their own cryptocurrencies I don't think anyone would want miss that. Its not impossible right? Similarly Other companies like twitter & Youtube and even UBER can also dig into cryptocurrencies. If major companies can consider BTC as their main cryptocurrency, BTC value will definitely skyrocket.

And after them... Amazon!!! very good topic, I believe google for sure is already working on its own crypto. They should like to be at the party, I´m afraid!
In that case I assume they will have a lot of investors, for they can say: "hey, we are going to accept only our own cryptocurrency, folks". Imagine that!!
366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To travel is to live on: January 25, 2018, 02:58:45 AM
I'm always one to attack absolute statements about the correct way to live, and this one that I will indeed attack! I think that making a claim like "to travel is to live" is to suggest that people who cannot afford to travel don't live, which just isn't true. People find real meaning within their own communities. similar to how you derive meaning from travel. There are different ways to experience life and find meaning, and travelling is merely one of them.

Also, if "to travel is to live" then pretty much nobody except travelling merchants and the wealthy every truly "lived" before 1930, which is quite the claim to make.
Totally agree, I´ve traveled a lot, lived in several countries and be away from my home for too many time. Now, when I visit my family and friends I can see how happy they are in their houses, with their peaceful lives, and me? All this trip ... I loved it, I really enjoy my live, but I don´t think I´m better than them, or have more experience in life at all. Ok, i´ve seen many places, and lived in different cultures, so what? It doesn't make me more intelligent, or happier than some of my friends which are still in my little village enjoying mountains, learning about how beautiful spring can be every year. They can tell you when is going to rain or what mushroom to eat... I know nothing
367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loss in trading on: January 24, 2018, 02:18:23 PM
I am a newbie, I just want to ask how exactly are you losing your money in trading? Can anybody explain how you lose your money in trading? Correct me if I'm wrong I just think that when you buy high but you sell it in low price I think you lose, right? What if you you buy it at a higher price then the price falls on the next days or week will you loss something? What if you'll just hold for it and wait for the price to bounce back? Thanks for your opinions! ☺️
I think desperation occurs when you invest your own money in crypto with the belief that you will have immediate profits. Well, this is not how the market goes.
If you want to trade you need to be patience, wait and to hold your money untill the price grows again. If not, youre just giving up your money to the people who actually have enough patience.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: January 23, 2018, 11:55:46 PM
I think cryptocurrencies are fantastic for bypassing the corrupt banking system. However, I think one of the problems with cryptocurrencies in the future will be that very few people will have them or will be priced out of the market because they have risen so much. I was wondering what the solution to the problem is and thought a cryptocurrencies that has an inbuilt universal basic income would mean it would reach more of the human population.
I think BTC is showing us how future is going to look: internet money, where you can carry your profits in your phone, or maybe there will be invented some kind of dispositive to wear that kind of money. The point is: nothing is going to be the same in global economy, this is just the beginning, but I can definitely see a future where cryptocurrencies are the new money machine.
369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: January 23, 2018, 11:47:51 PM
it was predicted that bitcoin prices would fall in the last week of 2017 and rise in the first week of 2018 but none of that has happent rather the price has beet pretty stable around 13500 usd.
what are your opinion on this,is it the time to trade or hold because i dont have enough funds to buy or invest more.
Be patient!!!! All this panic sells are unwise!! BTC will rise again, but in the world of crypto the one thing you need the most is patience. I think this is not a good time for selling, just hold it for a couple of months .
370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin? on: January 23, 2018, 11:20:32 PM
*Newbie Here!* Because of fluctuations in the value of bitcoin, is 2018 going to be the biggest downfall of bitcoin? What do you think?
Fluctuation is normal in BTC, since the very beginning of crypto they have been to and fro every time. This is their "natural way", somehow. I believe BTC is not only not going to disappear but to become something bigger than what it is now. I believe 2018 is going to be the year where you will be able to buy lot of stuff with crypto, in Amazon, for instance.
So, no, I don´t think there is any possible way to leads to BTC disappearance.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever dreamed about Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2018, 11:08:06 PM
Have you dreamed about Bitcoin before? Well, recently I dreamed that someone sent me 5 BTC to my Mycelium wallet. I told my friend (in the dream) that those Bitcoin worth around 3000 USD. If that was true ... One Bitcoin is equal to 600 USD in my dream.

Well, I hope the dream come true one day - be it free 5 BTC or 600 USD per Bitcoin.
Jajaja.... yes. Last night I dreamed about someone yelling to me: "If you want to earn BTC you need to make spam publications on the YouTube".
Crazy as hell, but it gave me an idea, obviously nothing related to spam.
I think dreaming about something that is always in your mind is the most common situation.

And I join you : if out there exist someone who doesn't need her/his BTC anymore, I will be happy to receive them.

373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wiil bitcoin price raise up again? on: January 23, 2018, 03:53:49 PM
Hello all. As a newbie Im worried if bitcoin price will not raise up again. Because I still keep some of it. It is not much but I got worried. Sad
Yes, I´m sure. Due to the recent events, lot of people is worried about bitcoin price, but i´m sure it is going to rise up again. Dont forget last year Bitcoin´s price was $1000, and look at the current status: ten times more. So, despite the current situation, BTC is still rising if we think in a bigger map here. I mean, to analize the bitcoin trajectory from the last couple of years helps, to me, to stay positive.
374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 22, 2018, 06:37:04 PM
The crypto market are currently all in red. It seems that there is a bloodbath. How long do you think will it take and what do you think is the reason behind it? Is it just a massive price correction or is it the end for the crypto world? Just want to know your opinion about it.
I think most of the people are becoming too much dramatic about BTC nowadays. Last year was even impossible to think that BTC will become so expensive, and here it is!!!!
Of course, the hole last year all crypto experienced process of falling and rising, and at the end of the year they finished with unprecedented prices!!!
No, it is not the end of crypto!
375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: January 22, 2018, 06:25:54 PM

When prices get low I think is better to hold. BTC is going to rise again, it has to!! Do not stop believing!!
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: January 22, 2018, 06:13:38 PM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
Who knows, maybe if governments massively start forbidding it... But im not sure, I dont thing cryptocurrencies will ever disappear, on the contrary, I believe they are actually definning the future
377  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL EVERYTHING!!! on: January 17, 2018, 10:55:14 AM
Well, if you someday won a lot of money and then you lost it of course you´re in panic... but I don´t catch the hate. Crypto is always same: they say  BTC is going to fall, panic selling begins so they buy much more at a low price, and then the price rises again so "they" win a lot of money. Who? speculators, investors and co.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MAD WITH MY PARENTS !!! on: January 13, 2018, 05:58:24 PM

Well... it is normal for people who cant understand what is going on with bitcoin to say you´re crazy and stuff like that-... but why do you care??? Always, about any activity somebody is going to be in desagree.... if you spend your energy in trying to prove they are wrong... what a waste of time!!! Tongue
