My personal opinion, Ethereum is the real competition of Bitcoin. Other alts are promising too.
But really, what is bitcoin? It is the pioneer of cryptocurrency, hence overpriced and can only really make transactions. Considering how much environmental damage BTC causes for the technology that it gives, it is an incredible waste of resources. It will likely never be picked up by businesses as a means of transferring money, it is way too volatile. If we are talking about 6+ figures, would you risk accepting money in BTC for a service, knowing that there is potential for the money to lose value before you are able to cash out? There is a lot to improve...
Bitcoin is and will be the leader for a very,very long time, but I don't think this will always be the case.
There are coins out there that have a much greater potential. They utilise blockchain technology in a way that most people didn't even think is possible.
A select few altcoins do have a great future. As an investor the main points that I look out for:
-What is the direct application in real life?
-Why is a decentralised system better than a traditional?
-How will this benefit users over traditional systems?
-How likely is this to be adopted by the general public?
-Quality of team (size, dedication, communicability etc)
There are other factors to consider, but the above are most important for me.
There are pearls up for grabs out there ladies and gentlemen. Don't be afraid to take a well-educated risk. We are seeing the slow birth of a new age, those who are sleeping now will miss out.
Just don't let investing become gambling - make sure you leave enough money to secure the well-being of your family...

If ICO collects 50 million and after ico a person wins jackpot of over 2 billion. Then i feel like the project is doomed, because all the next 80-100 jackpots still go to the person who won 2 billion and. Did i understand this right? Can someone explain.
Do you know anyone who would stake 1 ETH with a 1:17 000 000 chance of winning? You must be made of money if you can afford that sort of gambling I recommend that you read the whitepaper for a breakdown on how the jackpot payout works, it is not as simple as you think. |

Hi, this is because the network is frozen, there is not enough hashpower to crack the more difficult blocks. It will probably be resumed for a period of time, and then freeze again. I would strongly recommend that you make use of that window, to send your DAS to nova. When the network freezes, your MN also won't generate any profit. Have a look through the last few pages of this thread to get a better picture of the situation. huh , my MN is still working and earning , thus your saying its going death ...... thought so seems more and more trolls trying to make it seem coin is dead and all is not working, saw some in telegram room, something else is going on. yup! Don't get me wrong it is not my intention to spread fud. I do not wish bad for DAS. I want every crypto investor to prosper and make money. I just don't want to community to be burned by truckmans halfbaked efforts (again). I am just sharing with everyone else that I see too many red flags. |

Is DAS selling anywhere except Nova? only nova... bummer, why only nova?? the more exchanges the more volume this will get .... Because to get one some exchanges there is a fee and the dev doesnt want to pay that it seems. Hopefully we will get some more information, but for now just gotta be patient. I will still help DAS holders and community members in tech support as I am able to, but I am no longer a holder of DAS as an investment, short or long, because I see no future for DAS. It is easy mining profits for large hashrate auto-switching x11 multipools and easily manipulated by day traders on NovaExchange. If it weren't for all the profit motivated mining pools conversions to BTC and the day traders, there would not be much, if any, activity on NovaExchange. I took a chance in early August on 20k DAS but over the past 2 months, all of the cons have proven to strongly outweighed the pros, but that is my own personal investment and technical analysis. I understand all of the sceptics here, but there are certainly ICO's there that are worth considering.
Don't forget guys, Oculus Rift came from kickstarter. There are promising ideas out there, that just need some finance.
As long as you are not a dork with your investments, and research throughly, the competition, the whitepaper, the team. You can enjoy the benefits one day.

May I ask how it is intended to get a wide adoption?
I think an user friendly UI would be crucial.
Is that planned in any kind or form by the developers?
The whitepaper mentions that a android/ios app is to be developed Q1 2018. This is a posibility for mass adoption, in adition a certain amount of the jackpot (a very small percent like 0.25% - I could be wrong) will be available for the developer to take out on a monthly basis which is to be used as a marketing budget. |

Yep, mine will not sync either. Looks like whatever the blockchain freeze was, it has been fixed. Mining resumed on several pools with current block height = 42220. No further harm can be done... You don't get a worse reputation than a scammer in the crypto world. This project was an obvious scam since page 1. A 1 week ICO? Very cheesy graphics from oculus store? Lack of information?Fit all the pieces of the puzzle next time... We all love VR and the concept of a blockchain powered VR platform is a great idea, so easy to succumb to emotions and invest without proper research on the team... |
