My wallet (9.4.6) is showing 3 confirmations and Cryptsy shows none.

Would not be unusual for cryptsy to ignore the fork, wait for a big mess, then fix it maybe a week or so from now... They're not pro-active at all.

Did you dump your chain info and re-pull just to be sure? I think there is a newer version 9.4.8... Might be you on bad fork reading bad fork from other people on bad fork...

See post below this one for version.
Mintpal has deposited my coins now.  Cryptsy shows no confirmations.  Maybe they're on the wrong fork?

just stop using craptsy, there is always something going on there, mintpal has always been tidy afaik

Please update ASAP!

Some bad masternodes set off a chain reaction which forked the network
into many smaller forks. To ensure you're on the correct fork please
update your daemon and run with the command "-reindex". It may take a
bit to reindex, but you'll be on the correct fork.

Does the price runup have anything to do with the May 25 deadline so people can get their 1000 DRK for a Masternode?

What happens after?  Selloff?

Today a masternode costs you around $7k and might bring every month $100-$200, but after 3 or 4 months it will probably costs you $50k and bring every month almost $2k, that's why people are trying to buy as soon as possible and setup their masternodes, why would anyone want to sell after that?

Bump!

+101

you mean I could almost retire setting up a masternode?  Grin

Hey guys, trying to shutdown my masternodes. I have them pointed to a machine that is no longer running, was a vm. In windows qt, I issue command masternode stop and I get not implemented yet. Not sure how to stop it.

DRK is unstoppable Tongue

lol!  Grin Grin

All this stuff in these posts sound good and stuff but I just wonder what that hard fork will bring....

got a little scared that would mean dumping time!

I think it's a safe bet to assume there'll be another hard fork later on to fix bugs that appear live. The masternode payment system is a complex system and its doubtful that testnet has evaluated all possible scenarios where it can break.

I find it remarkable that someone, somewhere, even a complete Luddite, managed to avoid hearing about BitCoin's hardfork(s), and exactly what it is and what it means. Unless you were very literally born yesterday, how can you manage to avoid knowing this?

You watch crypto and you've never heard of a hardfork? Really? Is this even real? Have I entered the Twilight Zone?

The last several pages of really, really, really stupid posts have made me wonder if the thread just got hit by hired dummies here to make a mess... There's no way anyone who knows even the first thing about crypto can be asking the questions I'm seeing... How much are these people being paid to act like this?

Hey, Camosoul, you seem pretty thin-skinned. If these sorts of posts set you off like this, maybe you don't have the temperament for cryptocurrency investment.

glad you agree Camosoul, relax dude.

well shoot me...I was just thinking that there might be that possibility that this steep rise to RC2 was planned and the moment itīs released it will bring the hammer down and leave later investors in misery. Ok maybe I am just paranoid but that does not mean they are not after me.

Tthe Darkcoin will replace the litecoin soon...

I don't know about soon, but anything is possible in cryptoworld. Not a single altcoin has been able to take the number 2 spot and now that asics are out for scrypt, LTC offers nothing special over just investing in BTC. DRK is at least innovative, but we have to get to and maintain a 50 million dollar market cap first before even thinking about anything higher.

if you look at the total amount of coins that will be created dark is quite close to litecoin
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 10, 2014, 02:36:49 AM
Firstly, this is not intended to be an act of trolling. I was quite heavily invested in Dark, and believed in it's cause.

However, I would like you to carefully consider your position.

The darksend option of anonymity could be smashed by the NSA quite easily.

The anonymity market share you own - on the assumption that darksend works flawlessly - is about to be overtaken by Monero, and similar clones.

Their anonymity solution is superior to yours, developed by hackers. A purely trustless solution.

Good luck to you all, but buyer beware.

https://cryptonote.org/whitepaper.pdf

PS. Darkwallet also should not be underestimated, simply because you don't like it...

While zeroknowledge proofs are neat just imagine the blockchain sitting there for 10 years accumulating your data, then one of a few things happen:

1.) The key used to start the system was never destroyed and was kept the entire time so a very powerful entity could see everything that goes on
2.) An exploit is found and suddenly the entire blockchain is cleartext

Darksend has no such vulnerabilities. The encryption we use could be completely broken and all of the transactions that have happened would still be anonymous.

Darksend relies on a collateral system - 1000drks per masternode, randomly selected masternodes, and these nodes sign off on the pooled transactions.

Sounds safe...how much money do you think the NSA has? How easy to simply stockpile virtually all the darks out there, and have the majority of masternodes running...

Sorry Evan but they are laughing at this solution...they will simply allow your network to grow, allow users to feel safe and protected, yet know the vast majority of transactions.

The only real solution to anonymity is encrypted packets of information, that are visible on the network by can only be decrypted by the intended recipient using their private key.

You are a smart, well intended dev. You have a loyal team, you have done well. But your solution is flawed.

This was solved by using multiple iterations through many masternodes. Users can pick how secure and private they want their transactions to be. To actually know who spent what, you would have to control every masternode from start to end.

Plus, I'm implementing I2P into the masternodes. We're going to have our own private network just for DarkSend.

Yep, very easy - and not that expensive - to do.

Every masternode has access to the transaction info for that iteration.

This is NOT anonymity. This is a hack solution, hoping that an adversary does not control the masternodes the network asigns to your solution, on the assumption that it is too expensive for said adversary to own enough masternodes.

Read up on Monero (and no i do not own coins...yet). The solutions put forward - although simple in their user implementation - are well though through mathematical solutions.

Darksend is, well, quite hack. It relies on the false premise that it will be too expensive for an adversary to exploit...

FALSE FALSE FALSE.

Buyer beware. Well no....buyer will do ok. User beware, your transactions are not anonymous

FUD?

The thing people need to realize is as holders of this coin you determine the value.  There is no great new supply of coins coming in so as you hold the scarcity of coins on the market rise and as that rises prices go along with it, as long as there is demand.  I believe a lot of new investors don't see this or the scared that panic sell don't realize they have a lot more control of this market as a whole than POW coins that are just getting mined and dumped for profit.

Yep. There are always going to be stages of someone cashing out. It happened at 4k sat. It happened again 9K sat. And it has once again happened. But if we keep putting our efforts (and GPUs) back into this coin, the upward buy pressure is going to win out in the long run, as it already has been.

Stay strong everyone. In fact this movement down has motivated me to do even work now on my supporting P2Pool. Wink

And Iconic, that letter was nice. Thank you for it.
Make the pool X11 and I'm all in.  Summer/spring/year round is crazy hot where I live at most of the time so I haven't been able to mine on the multipool and wont unless someone makes an X11 one  Sad

X11 pool just makes sense, all the GPU miners will be involved in that - lower temps = lower power consumption + higher hash rates.

I briefly exchanged pm's with Soepkip yesterday asking about the X11 pool and from the response I got it seems the ball is already rolling in the right direction  Wink

that would be great high ambient temps make me have to lower the hashrate

I just visited the pool irc channel and was pleasantly surprised by the apparent sincerity of the people supporting this coin
