I'm a big believer in darkcoin... and I am shorting at .0051
How do you short?  Is there an exchange doing this now?

His meaning is that he tried to sell at around 0.0051 to buy back at lower price. There is always a risk involved here, if it doesn't go down he will end up missing the train and hating himself or just rebuying back at higher rate than he sold Tongue

Sorry. address in local wallet, not in server.

As of 10.7.1 and 9.3.1, masternode with port 0  will not be listed.

Please check if your node has port 0.
And check server's debug.log, if your Masternode was rejected.

54.187.198.184 that is the new one. I had restarted the server and my previous IP was 54.186.129.19 which for some reason is still showing in the list.

It's not a short.  It was a sale with the hope of buying back cheaper.  A, "Short" in equity trading terms is where you borrow someone else's equity on margin in a bet that the price goes down so that you can buy it back at that lower price to, "Cover" your short.

VERY different things.  I was hoping an exchange had set margin trading and shorting up.  The first that does it well will make a ton of money.

The concept of shorting has been re-framed for crypto.

anyone know how/why my masternode is in the list when i run "masternode list" command from my local wallet, but not there when I run the same command in the server? They are running the same version 0.10.7.1

that doesnt really answer my question...

Sorry. address in local wallet, not in server.

As of 10.7.1 and 9.3.1, masternode with port 0  will not be listed.

Please check if your node has port 0.
And check server's debug.log, if your Masternode was rejected.

i added the masternode to port 9999 not port 0. why wouldn't the local wallet masternode list retrieve the same list as the server though?

my new IP isn't listed...how can they retrieve different lists?

I don't know how/why.

my server debug log.
Code:
user@sv2:~/scripts> grep 54.187.198.184 ~/.darkcoin/debug.log  --> no log

Firstly, this is not intended to be an act of trolling. I was quite heavily invested in Dark, and believed in it's cause.

However, I would like you to carefully consider your position.

The darksend option of anonymity could be smashed by the NSA quite easily.

The anonymity market share you own - on the assumption that darksend works flawlessly - is about to be overtaken by Monero, and similar clones.

Their anonymity solution is superior to yours, developed by hackers. A purely trustless solution.

Good luck to you all, but buyer beware.

PS. Darkwallet also should not be underestimated, simply because you don't like it...

Question, what should I update to, 0.9.3.1 or 0.10.7.1? I dont plan to run a masternode, just to prepare for the fork. Thanks.

While zeroknowledge proofs are neat just imagine the blockchain sitting there for 10 years accumulating your data, then one of a few things happen:

1.) The key used to start the system was never destroyed and was kept the entire time so someone (a government, NSA?) can see everything that goes on. All the while everyone thinks it's anonymous?
2.) An exploit is found and suddenly the entire blockchain is cleartext

Darksend has no such vulnerabilities. The encryption we use could be completely broken and all of the transactions that have happened would still be anonymous.
