361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: November 27, 2014, 08:23:59 AM
I'm becoming stupid trying to make this work on my system. I have made some tests with no success. At the end I decided to start from scratch.
I have downloaded the build from nicehash a few minutes ago.
I've run just this way:

sgminer

No parameters. Input the following:

Input server details.

User name:

Pool name (optional):

qubitcoin

A line appears... "switching", I cannot read it because it's very fast. I have tried taking a screenshot but it's really so fast.
Immediately after this, it exits with:

Note: started at has no output there.
Runtime is wow.

Tried again with antivirus and firewall off.
Same thing.

Suggestions welcome.

Hello lucazane,
an user reported my miner (M8M) produces 100% rejects on your DBG-qubit pool.
I have tested the other day and I also got 100% rejects.
However, today everything seems to be working fine  Huh

Have you been tweaking the pool those days?

OK; i use this miner with my AMD 290 OC Card.
You can test it.
Good luck.

Thank you, I've given it a go. Right now, theblocksfactory has diff 1 so I cannot test it's working (but I know it does as I had it create a new worker). It does not work on birds p2p node for qubit. Digihash.co seems to be working with a reasonable difficulty of 1 share every ~40s (I have 1MH with those kernels).

I suspect something might be wrong with my internet, but this still wouldn't explain difficulty 1 on theblocsfactory. Something must be going on.

Nope. I cannot mine with the modified sgminer on digihash.co low diff port. I'm considering the possibility I've messed up my build somehow but it works on birds, and it works on other coins so I'm a bit  Huh

I will investigate tomorrow.

By the way. I tried your new version on windows. Can't start it. Guess i have to wait?
No, not at all. It isn't supposed to happen on Win7 or beyond. Maybe you need the redist package.

If this does not work, send me a screenshot if something pops up.

There's a known issue: it will bail out big way if pool connection cannot be established at start. This is a relic from when it was command line based and will be updated when I add multi-connection support.

Uhm uhm uhm...
While running some tests I noticed my miner does not hash correctly.

Can you try please?

I have an internal build which hashes correctly but it uses the BTC difficulty multiplier (1). Isn't it supposed to be 256?
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★ 极特币★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ v3.0.3 proposed update now out! on: November 25, 2014, 06:30:54 PM
Hello,
an user reported my miner cannot mine on the blocks factory (qubit). I'm in the process of fixing this.

In the meanwhile, I am using an internal sgminer build as reference. It can mine successfully on the blocks factory and on bird's p2p node, but not on digihash.co (all shares are below target).

Is the pool ok? It reported 0 users some minutes ago.

As a side note: the pool section is missing links to all pools, only one correctly pointed is digihash.co
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 8 out of the 15 top marketcaps are not mineable! on: November 25, 2014, 02:51:37 PM
Implying they are becoming just mere economic tools like toxic stock options and subprimes. With no adoption and increasingly elitarian access no one gives a fuck.

I must be missing something.
Is that rig 1c for three hours? How can that make any sense?

If you have any other questions, I'll gladly answer....
Did you measure your power consumption or estimated it? How much is kWh for you?

You claimed to mine every weekend, but how many weekends?

There is $BST & there is $BSTY  Cool
Whoops. Definitely overlooked difference. Thank you for the clarification. The previous coin seem to make sense now to me.

What does this equate to in cash flow?  I've been out of the game a while, but I saw on twitter guys saying this coin is very profitable to mine, but unless I'm looking at this wrong it seems like we are talking about pennies here.  Anyone?
Very legit question as far as I am concerned. I've been looking at miningrentals and imagining how little those guys must pay for electricity to be profitable.

We plan to update BST before the end of 2014, making it a multi-algo coin
I didn't notice that... I hope they also consider lowering block target. I don't like superfast blocks, but 4-5 minutes block time would ease adoption by some brick-n-mortar stores I think.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: November 20, 2014, 07:11:09 AM
What's up I heard there was a modified neoscrypt.CL that bypasses the bottleneck on R290X's, is that public yet?
What bottleneck are we talking about? Can we try to be not as vague as "something, somewhere fixing somewhat available to someone"?
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Self-Regulating Obsolete Currencies through Targeted 51% Attacks on: November 19, 2014, 06:13:44 PM
While I sympathize with the idea and I agree on the reasoning it seems not much people wants to contribute to the cause. I've seen at least two posts like yours. Not only the clearly useless coins stay there, they don't stop new ones from surfacing.

Sadly, interesting coins seem to be getting the short end of the stick. In any case, unless all the threads get erased from this forum... and from the internet, those coins will continue to disperse newcomers.

I hope the current situation of alts will at least dissuade somebody from new launches... but those living in India or China can sure pull some big bucks even in this situation and they can go further than legit devs.

There's more than blockchains... albeit I agree that would be a great start!

Hello!
Today is hopefully a good day for some FRESH users as they are given choice. I have decided to add FRESH algo to my miner in a new implementation I've dubbed "warm".
This miner is geared towards occasional users who happen to mine while doing their business. It's not quite a "don't make me think" miner but rather a miner with technical details hidden.

Windows 7 and AMD GCN only.

If it works for you, donations are welcome to FmXLkNdDAZHJFof1wnkBjGbv5LYHN2mh9Y .

Initial testing seems to suggest this new fresh implementation prefers low-end hardware.
A first part of online documentation will be made available hopefully today.

great stuff here is your donation Smiley you have PM

As I am not so technical experienced, could you explain more how to turn this on?
Yes and no.
I think documentation is a real thing so... here is some stupid user manual. It haz pictures!

An user told me it's incompatible with the 14.8 driver.

Bitrex doing huge error dropping this, plenty other shitcoins we would not even bother saying goodbye!
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Myriad [1st Multi-PoW] | REQUIRED UPDATE 0.9.2.7 on: November 15, 2014, 09:22:33 AM
Note: I have noticed the mining hardware benchmarks in the first message still link to the old database, while myriadplatform.org uses google spreadsheets.
Update links!
