521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining on: September 17, 2014, 01:55:14 PM
I do not have free electricity and I still GPU mine on my PC I use for other tasks so about half the wattage would be paid anyway --> 2x effective efficiency.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center in Denmark for Mining. on: September 17, 2014, 01:51:22 PM
I am sure interested... if not for the distance!
I mailed a local housing company about that a few hours ago let's see how it turns out.

Most importantly: what guarantees can you offer? There's definitely market for housing but building trust is THE problem!

The problem is you don't have money. Smiley
But at least he's got coinz! I'm struggling to get to 5k LOL
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with GPU --- What should I do? on: September 17, 2014, 10:46:41 AM
I'm inclined to agree. NV will have a wattage advantage ... and charge in advance for it.
AMD will be cheaper but will run hot. Operating costs will be higher than the NV counterpart.

I still expect most coins to go up in value this winter.

BTW, highest end is nonsense for mining as far as I'm concerned.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency = Cults? on: September 16, 2014, 04:45:29 PM
We are more and more intolerant to someone having a contrarian view of the crypto we hold. Our dev is the best and he is god. It happens with Monero, SuperNet, Boolberry, BitsharesX, you name it. Why are we so afraid to accept the fact that someone can hold another view and the right to express it (though threads like xyz is a scam are completely nonsense)?
QFE. With so many people saying "we are the best" I cannot understand a damn thing.
What I see is a huge mess. Take your time to sort out the deals, I will bet on things I can understand!
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: September 16, 2014, 12:11:01 PM
SGminer itself would have to be modified to use your kernels, which are excellent. The stuff I'm doing is mostly child's play - not really difficult at all.
Oh well, I hope you can take a look anyway because I had to cut a lot of corners in host code!
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: September 16, 2014, 07:52:16 AM
It's easy to improve the speed of the current X11, x13 and x15 miners since other coders has published their optimized miners:
Those are not optimized, only properly ported to GCN. I haven't had the time to optimize them yet.
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: September 16, 2014, 07:50:55 AM
Of course it's not. I didn't use any of those MaxDZ8 kernels, because I didn't want to modify sgminer itself. This is really child's play, not serious work.
Care to explain?
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to destroy Monero (XMR)? on: September 12, 2014, 12:41:42 PM
With all due respect, sir... your post history clearly reveals that you are a troll. But whatever. To each his own.
I also have low respect for you mr. dude with a tie.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NeoScrypt: The Future of CPU and GPU Mining on: September 12, 2014, 12:39:06 PM
I suppose an explanation is in order. Please accept my apologies BTCtalk is caustic and I should have not cut it short.

So rather than 'another POW coin' Neoscrypt is the future for any coin not wanting to be centralised by the coming wave of ASICS
Emphasis mine.
In English to me this reads as

"Every coin which wants to get out of ASICs will have to do NeoScrypt".

Which implies

"NeoScrypt the only solution".

No. Absolutely not. A solution we can disuss but the solution... not quite. I'm sorry I disagree.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - new unified multi-algorithm on-the-fly kernel switching miner on: September 12, 2014, 12:35:23 PM
Code is very similar to sph ported... can you highlight some interesting differences?

Where are all the qubit miners at?  Its looking lovely and profitable, but I'm all alone with my little rig on myrq.suprnova.cc Sad  Anyone care to join me?  Either that or point me at a pool where blocks are actually being found!
Holy crap danny, you're mining alone there right now!
Your payout will be exciting but with your hashrate you could keep going for years!

Bird's pool (birdspool.no-ip.org:5567) has been finding a few blocks per hour. Same thing for (p2poolcoin.com:5567). Are you ok with p2pool?
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Myriad [1st Multi-PoW] Simplicity v0.3 | Myriadcast Episode 2 | Multi-vPoW on: September 12, 2014, 12:24:51 PM
is the Electrum wallet auto linked to the miner?  I see no setup for this?
Yes it is! They somehow pull a wallet out of electrum. At least that was the case for 0.2.
It's a bit of magic.
If so - how often might you expect a deposit to the wallet?

I have lots of "accepted" YAY etc - but not one single MYR in the wallet?
It depends on the pool. You should be getting something every time the pool solves a block. The payouts will start small and grow, I'd say you should mine at least one hour. You will continue getting some MYR after you stop mining.

For P2pool (as simplicity uses) you should be getting coins at least once per day. The pool I use finds a few blocks per hour.

It's not like you can stay there counting the seconds but it's a fairly fast process. I once have been credited in a matter of minutes ( Huh ) for 2 minutes of mining. I wasn't expecting that.

That said, if you're reading this and still got nothing, either you have mined very little or you have a problem!
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to destroy Monero (XMR)? on: September 11, 2014, 06:51:07 PM
So either you have no idea what's happening or you don't speak truthfully. Reader decide.
I openly admit I have no idea what I'm talking about. Because I cannot honestly figure it out. It might not be a problem for you... I would consider it a problem!
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a proper alt coin ? or political propaganda scam fraud ? on: September 11, 2014, 06:49:56 PM
Bitcoin was used early on silkroad to buy drugs and other stuff and i dont see people complaining now... (and probably continue right now.. as i know the leaked nudes had been paied in bitcoins)..
And the FBI demostrated the advantages of the traceable tech by confiscating to the last penny.
Are you a drug dealer? A corrupt politician? A sex slave trader? Please do use blockchain!

legal or ilegal, its one question of privacy
It seems to me the principles on which your life is based are fairly relative things. This privacy is more than already fully guaranteed by the basic tech, not to mention stealth addresses. I honestly cannot picture myself in a situation needing more privacy protection than that... as you said: it was designed for drugs.

Nonetheless, it does not matter. Attacked by third parties or not the potential for misuse is immense: it's basically the best of BTC protocol... with the worse of fiat. If someone wants to damage XMR you guys should start thinking about taking note this damage is happening, is real and should be stopped and you, as proposers, must do something.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to destroy Monero (XMR)? on: September 11, 2014, 05:27:29 PM
I just want to confirm I believe every day a bit less in XMR.
The noise level is just too high and anyway, the community seems totally immature and weak.

I also have several problems with the whole CN concept at its core but I suppose that's another business.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a proper alt coin ? or political propaganda scam fraud ? on: September 11, 2014, 05:17:35 PM
At the very least I would suggest that everyone choose to ignore supporters AND detractors of Monero, and instead focus on the cryptographically sound technical merits of a cryptocurrency that we hope will have longevity and usefulness in the coming years.
With all the due respect fluffy, this is bullshit. You are proposing a technology whose main merit is full untraceability and accept the presence of idiots posting nazi shit.
I could respect the concept if it was just for buying dildos or porn or the internet but the picture here is way darker... I do not want to mine a coin which seems to have taken such interest from the violents and the idiots, no matter what the technological merits are. God only knows what kind of transactions I could be processing.
Take a position to defend your asset and IP. The noise levels are extreme and whatever it's important gets lost in a sea of bullshit, and I'm telling you that exactly because I'm interested in the technology.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency with the best distribution? on: September 11, 2014, 05:11:31 PM
What do you think of MYR richlist?
I'm personally fairly impressed I could probably get in the 1000 richest addresses, and I currently hold only 4740!
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NeoScrypt: The Future of CPU and GPU Mining on: September 11, 2014, 04:21:24 PM

Your points are taken, but this is just plain out bullshit.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a proper alt coin ? or political propaganda scam fraud ? on: September 11, 2014, 04:16:00 PM
I want to congratulate with FinlandSkinhead, every time I read those kind of things I grow convinced I should not give a damn fuck about XMR.
