Question: is there a roster of the current dev team somewhere w/ their credentials?  Seems like a pretty basic thing for a company like this to have on their website (e.g., one trying to revolutionize payments).  What experience do these dev-folks have?  What experience do the devs and other professionals have in the highly regulated and long-existing payments industry?

Remember when I said several hundred pages back that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction:

"Mr. Shinners started his first career as a Russian linguist (Intelligence) with the United States Air Force in 1980. He attended the Defense Language Institute-Foreign Language Center (Presidio of Monterey, California) and earned a diploma in Russian Language and Literature in 1981. He was permanently stationed in Germany, and was part of an elite team of highly qualified linguists who supported U.S., NATO, and allied missions during the Cold War. Mr. Shinners continues his working knowledge in four languages."
(From his auditing site).

Don't believe anything, including leaked messages, chats, etc.  Don't even believe that bio.  Would be a hoot to see a Cold War-style propaganda campaign be deployed.

Has anyone seen him "grinning" recently?

 Cheesy - Zing!

Possible, considering the following as well as other undisclosed sources.

Anyone else notice this? Look at his post times on Hashtalk...

No more midnight posts in US timezones... Now its all midnight posts in EU zones.

His normal posting time is evening and late night. He just made a post, it's like 2000 hours GMT.

He almost never posts during the normal work day.

If your other sources are as reliable as this I think we should move on to the next conspiracy. I prefer Mr Felt's theory of in-laws.

To be clear, its not a theory i'm adopting or advocating right now; just noting its a possibility (w/o regard for whether its probable) if certain info is reliable.

Never let facts get in the way of a good bit of gossip eh?!

*wasn't aimed at Coinfire I might add Smiley

I enjoy reading some good gossip Smiley

Its the spice of life.

So Homero Garza has fled country to escape a criminal investigation? And he continues to taunt his victims from afar with even more fake promises? Interesting. Perhaps Homero Garza has fled to his Papi's homeland where a passport to enter isn't required?

Pity his 150 dollar week man-servant doesn't have the balls to check his posting IP on his forum since he is assigned that glorious tag of Admin while he picks up Homero's shit and shines his shoes.

If you believe certain social media accounts are authentic and accurate, his in-laws live in the Cayman Islands.  Would be really easy to go on a long vacation.

Just got 3rd and final confirmation needed from an inside source to confidently say, Josh Garza has left the country.

I'm even told that he brought his entire family with him. Vacation? Convenient timing... Never heard of a CEO taking a vacation while their company was crumbling to the ground..... Oh unless there was a federal investigation underway, that sort of explains it.

Where are you getting this information? A friend at the State Department is supposed to call back today to confirm if he even has a passport for us.

Not sure why anyone would believe any "inside sources" from GAW.  To me, many people who have publicly turned against GAW recently are no more trustworthy now than they were before the public change in position.  It would be so easy for a few "insiders" to invent a story about Josh leaving the U.S., after inventing a story about ditching GAW, and then leak it systematically knowing it would be reported in the news and discussed on forums like this.  The standard for establishing his location, or anything from an insider or GAW, should be very high - government sources, in person witness, etc.

Suchmoon,  earlier you said you'd post the info explaining how you knew about the big Mississippi data center (its existence and location) as soon as you could get to an acceptable computer. Can you please post that info today?

Please see this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.msg9544806#msg9544806

I have started to collect the pictures but it's slow going. It has the ones with EXIF data so it should give you what you're looking for.

There were some others that showed electric installation work being done inside and outside, and also ones with Bitmain hardware. I hope to add those soon (TM).

Thanks!

FWIW, the leak is in GAW/Paybase's interest - it provides the necessary cover to delay as along as possible.  This thread is also a cover - you know, a half-dozen internet forum users in one thread, can easily take down a $100M company by posting pictures, memes, snark and silly allegations.  Of course.  By the gaw logic, the Winklevi should have hired us to take down facebook, would have been a whole lot cheaper.  Roll Eyes

Whether the leak was from GAW, their reps, etc., I can't say - I just think it doesn't hurt them as much as it helps them by buying time.

It really shouldn't help them at all. It's an example of a 100% lie by GAW. Some idiots might skip that part and just think the evil government is out to get them, but some won't. I really don't understand how anyone can think this can get turned around.

It should not help them as a matter of fairness, certainly.  It does solidify that they lied. However, it also buys them some time RE: delivery on promises (which I don't they can do) - at least w/ the some of the HTers.  Having rethought my point a bit, and I may rethink further still, maybe the leak gives them a short-term benefit, but creates a long-term problem for them (just kicking the can down the road in a way).

Ignoring the whole "we lied about the SEC investigation" thing as if it doesn't affect anything. No mention of buyback anymore. Just recently the whole team was working on the buyback program, now "the majority of the team is focused on merchant on boarding and building merchant tools.". Amazingly XPY is not crashing. So that shows that nobody really believed in the buyback to begin with, but I still don't get where the $1 valuation is coming from. Surely nobody could be as foolish as to trust that the "team" can release something that works and find blind and deaf cavemen to sign up as merchants.

I was advised by our legal team to run this program. I have been left out of many other legal meetings, and now being told we may not even do the program.

http://coinbrief.net/gaw-miners-sec-investigation/

His lawyers are actually banning him from meetings lol.

So if I'm understanding right, either this article or Scott is lying? Because Scott said that he confirmed with Carol Van Cleef that they have nothing at all to do with Gaw Miners or Paybase.

The plot thickens ...
That's not his lawyer? Or did they say she was?

David seems to be a general lawyer connected w/ an investment group.  He filed their initial trademark paperwork, but was substituted for a trademark attorney at a later date - maybe in anticipation of a fight w/ the other holder of the mark Paybase.  Likewise, Carol may be someone with whom GAW now has an attorney-client relationship as it relates to compliance issues in the finance/securities space.  This relationship may have formed just recently, notwithstanding anything Scott has said previously.

How do you know all that?  Genuine question.

Some of the early pics had GPS coordinates. Later pics didn't, but there were sufficient visual cues to link then to the same building - roof/lighting structures, exterior siding etc.

Corporate Headquarters

Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39402

Yes, that's the small one. Here's the big one where the installation work took place:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/31%C2%B010%2704.4%22N+89%C2%B024%2736.6%22W

Where's the connection to the big one (i.e., what gave you those coordinates/where are those pics or materials?)?
375  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 03, 2015, 09:07:45 PM
That is a question that has never been provably answered. I don't think there are very many people that believe they ever had any reasonably sized data center if any at all. J. Mordica's video proved nothing more than 2 small rows of miners somewhere.

EDIT: I have always been under the impression that it was something along the lines of what Bitpop said. Somehow they visited a warehouse and had pictures taken. Whether they paid someone off or not remains to be seen. The picture could also have been photoshopped as some have suggested but I think that to be less likely.

I'm quite sure they had (leased?) the warehouse since their hardware shipping days. Package tracking information confirms that. It was nowhere near ready for mining in August, that's the "unplugged" picture. Later on they published more pictures of electric and venting installations being done in what looked like the same warehouse, and then a few rows of S3/S4 miners plugged in and powered on again in seemingly the same warehouse. Don't make me go look for those pictures Smiley

I don't know about the video, maybe that was done in a different place. Now that the miners are being sold off and jmordica may have left GAW they might not even have/lease the warehouse anymore, but just a few weeks ago miners were still being shipped from Hattiesburg, MS.

They also had a smaller place near Hattiesburg, likely their original "GAW hosting" location.

There's nothing to suggest that they had any other substantial facilities, except their "home base" in CT and perhaps a few employees working from their homes in TX etc.

Bitmain picture is clearly NOT of the same warehouse. Not sure if that proves or disproves anything - I still think it's possible that Bitmain's Christmas sale was related to GAW even if the picture was not, but that's just my personal conspiracy theory.

I'd agree but there has never been any address of any warehouse that size linked to GAW. I remember searching, way back in September I believe, and posting questions on HT. I was "informed" by one or a few users that it was somewhere in Hattiesburg. The actual address of GAW in Hattiesburg that I found was some shitty little storefront, with a completely different name and business in the middle of nowhere next to some train tracks. These same users told me that they were shipping from this same address. However, if you saw the location you would realize that nothing was being shipped from it. It was literally the size of say a small 7-11. IDK if I can locate that again but I'll try. There weren't many Josh Garza links when his name was Googled back then.

Yep.  I saw the little storefront shack too.

Its telling when the US Patent and Trademark office shoots down a trademark app on your miners because the applicant can't provide any evidence substantiating the existence of the same.

So, apparently folks who have hashlets still are seeing their numbers changing, as if nothing had happened and like they are still running. The users just aren't getting paid.

So this would indicate 3 real options...

  • GAW HAS NOT turned off equipment and has commandeered user's hashpower and is using it for themselves (theft)
  • GAW WAS mining and HAS turned off equipment, and what is shown is just RNG that they forgot to turn off (shady, lazy)
  • GAW was never really mining, and what is shown in the UI is just RNG (false advertisement, possibly securities fraud)

Anything I'm missing?

Wonder how they're able to mine in their Hattiesburg, MS data center w/o JM at the helm?

Mr Felt's post:

Quote
Sweet!  I love it when people jeopardize the attorney-client privilege.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.msg10331147#msg10331147

Forced them to change the wording removing seeing emails etc. effect was immediately after that was posted.  Homero without a doubt sits here F5'ing to "see what they are saying about him". Paranoid punk.

Only the attorney has an obligation of confidentiality under attorney/client privilege. The client or his associates can divulge whatever they wish. Whether such disclosures are advisable is another matter.

Nope (tbf, this may very by jurisdiction).  If an attorney provides confidential legal advice (in the form of an opinion letter for instance) and if the client then reveals that confidential advice with a third party (shares the opinion letter), the privilege can be waived as to that subject matter (document). Here's a simple run down: http://www.northwestern.edu/general-counsel/faqs/privilege.html

Exactly.  The client can choose to waive attorney client privilege at his discretion. In this case by showing a screenshot of an email to Cyberlizard, that email is obviously no longer protected. That disclosure, as I said, may or may not be advisable but it certainly doesn't waive the attorney client privilege with respect to other communications between the attorney and client.

I suppose we're saying the same thing. I should have said "waived" the first time, that might have been more clear than "jeopardized" or whatever I said.
